Prime Rib was very expensive for the cut of meat we were served. The prime rib was tough and over cooked. The scampi was swimming in garlic and had was over cooked. Caesar salad was wilted. I think they should concentrate on fewer menu items and take the time to prepare items that can pass for at least as good as Olive Garden I would not waste my money going to this steakhouse. As you can see by recent reviews this are not very favorable, and mine is worse. The potato and salad was good. That's it. My first Delmonico i couldnt cut and when grizzle and veins were observed I said I wanted another steak. Before the waitress took it back she suggested the knife might be dull. Not sure why she would serve me a dull knife, but the next one proved that knife wasnot any better. Sooo I then ordered a strip steak and aftercutting into this steak I asked for boxes to take it home. Still trying to be polite I told Margaret I had two dogs and was going to give the steaks to them. This is a warning to all who wish to dine there. We have not been here in years (old location), but we made a special trip from the East side (50 min drive) to revisit what we did remember b/c it was one of the most amazing dinners I've ever had. I recalled amazing french onion soup, a delicious black and blue filet - and wonderful ambiance. We made reservations and were seated immediately. Waitress was wonderful and attentive. I ordered the french onion soup as an appetizer and the Surf and Turf (filet/scampi) with blue cheese crust. My husband ordered the surf and Prime Rib. To start I was disappointed that my soup and (both of our salads) were delivered at the same time. I felt rushed to eat as to not let my soup get cold, while trying to enjoy our salads together. I would have liked to enjoy my soup separately without having to rotate back and forth between the two. When my filet was brought to the table, it was missing the blue cheese sauce on top which was my big request. The waitress returned to the kitchen to bring me a "side" of it - seemed as if it was microwaved b/c half was hot; half was cold. Filet was cooked perfectly and the side of garlic mashed was eh. I thought the scampi was cooked well, but it was so bland even with the butter (which seemed unsalted). My husband's prime rib was "average ...and not the best he ever had." He also said it was a bit on the fatty side. He loved the scampi and ate the remainder of mine. I was also surprised at the dress code seated around us. We spent over $200 on this meal and were seated near two tables that had guests in construction work attire (neon sweatshirts, baseball caps, and work boots). Not that it affected our dinner, but when you're spending over $200 to dine - you'd expect some sort of dress code policy to make it feel a little more upscale. Our server/bartender was Alicia, the nicest of the nice, and the best of the best! She makes a terrific cosmo, and had a warm and welcoming demeanor. We all enjoyed the atmosphere, and the food was really good quality, very tasty and not greasy at all. The salad dressings are made fresh in house. The menu had something for every palate and a generous amount of offerings for dessert. If you like good food and a plrasant atmosphere, Ferris is the perfect place for you ! read more

We've been going here since the old location. Service was abysmal. We waited over 45 minutes for steaks and the restaurant was empty on a Friday night (that should tell you something). The 2 filets were unseasoned and flavorless. The strip steak was 40% gristle - NOT a prime cut! Some poor woman vomited right next to our table. They barely cleaned it up. Not a word of apology from the staff about any of this. Pretty sure you could get the same meal at a buffet. We won't be back. It's really too bad to see a legend fade away. read more

Always a win!!! We ventured out to celebrate my parents anniversary and dinner at Ferris was the perfect option. Drinks, appetizers and entrees oh my, and the staff just keep you coming back. The atmosphere at Ferris is casual with a great steakhouse vibe, not stuffy or overpriced. Win Win. We started with a bottle of Pinot Noir and it was great. The salads and soup are fresh and homemade. To the entrees, fresh cut steaks cooked the way you want them, pasta cooked with the right bite. I'll keep it simple. Ferris is great for happy hour, curbside family pickup or a sit down family meal. The service is on point and top notch, the food is delicious and the tab is never as high as you think it should be. "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results." Glad to know I am not insane. I find it discriminatory and agist that they have NOT ONE booth that will seat 4 people in the Happy Hour section. I asked the hostess if she could accommodate my 85 year old mother in a booth and was flatly told no- Why would I expect any type of consideration for an elderly patron? Today my mother in laws hip was feeling a little better and we were able to help get her in to the high top chair. I ordered hot tea- it was "cute" when they brought out a battered wooden box filled with sad old tea bags. No, Ferris- you will not be mistaken for The Ritz. Betty was a lovely waitress. Came here for a work related function. We were greeted upon entering through the door, and was immediately shown to our table in the back room. Once we decided which of the three tables to sit at, a staff member came to take our drink order. There were 20 of us in attendance, and the staff members working at our tables did an amazing job! They were attentive to everyone in our group. Our drinks arrived quickly after ordering. We shared three appetizers: flatbread, calamari, and stuffed peppers. All were delicious but the calamari was my favorite. The flatbread was good too, and liked the spice level of the stuffed peppers. For my meal, I ordered the 14 oz strip steak, with baked potato and a house salad. Their house dressing is amazing. My steak was cooked perfectly, medium, just as I ordered. Others at my table really enjoyed their meals too. Other items ordered by people stunning near me were pork chops and scallops. I heard that the scallops were very good and cooked well; not overdone and had a good flavor and texture. The pork chops were also cooked well, and seasoned perfectly too. They looked really juicy. The portions are large here and I ended up bringing some of my meal home. So did others at my table. The staff worked hard and were efficient. They were also very nice. I didn't feel like we had to wait long for anything. There was also someone just to refill water glasses. We were thanked for having our work event here. I am absolutely mind blown at the price range of this place considering the extremely sub par experience. As someone coming from out of town, when I see a menu of about $40-$50 per plate, I expect to interact with a courteous wait staff and try some good food. I can say I have paid for steak dinners three times as good as this place, at a third of the price. The server approached our table with "what do you want to drink" instead of even a simple hi or hello. Salads and baked potato looked like something you throw together for last minute dinner ideas at home, when you don't know what else to make. The baked potato wasn't fully cooked and under seasoned. And the biggest thing of all, I came to a steakhouse that didn't even season their steaks. Another person in my party also got a prime rib (supposedly cooked medium rare) that came out basically grey with no types of fat on the cut. I'm typically such an easy going person when it comes to dining but I am just absolutely kind blown an experience like this cost $170 plus tip. Not worth it in the slightest. read more

Just finished a fantastic dinner at Ferris. Food, drinks, service and ambiance all a home run. My guest had the 10 oz. filet. Cooked to perfection, with a nice portion of seasoned asparagus. My choice was the 10 oz. sirloin which was as good as any steak I have had in the area, but at a much more reasonable price. Our server Dasha was terrific and while I would normally have a baked potato, she recommended the "loaded mashed" with cheddar, bacon, and chives. Wonderful! I am a pretty big eater, but left with a to go bag with about half of my order. Dinner tomorrow. No desert, but there was icing on the cake. I stayed off of all forms of social media as a new years resolution, and literally broke my promise to myself because I just had to inform the public about how bad this place is. Our first observation was that the atmosphere seemed off...too casual for the price point. They also overcompensated for their pedestrian table layout by turning the lights so dim, my wife and I were actually having a tough time reading our menus. Next was our server. What a ball of sunshine she was. I don't know if she just has been jaded by being in the industry too long, or if she just recently got her dose of Lexapro increased by her Dr. She was short with us, very robot like, and just an overall bad attitude. Appetizers : The appetizers we got were a bowl of the soup of the day for $8 and a $20 dollar order of fried calamari. The soup was okay but it was practically served in a thimble, my wife ate it in about 5 bites. The calamari came out as about 12 TINY little o-rings that were chewy and clearly pulled from the frier too early. Even if they were halfway decent the portion size was insanely small for the price. Dinner (from hell) : When you spend $160 at a restaurant without any drinks or dessert, you should expect a good meal. Even though we were expecting portions to be smaller, we assumed great quality and well presented food was coming as the price range generally calls for. Wow did we assume wrong. My steak was a $46 14oz delmonico that was ordered medium rare with mash potatoes and cheddar, and a Ceasar salad. Wifey got the 10oz filet medium for 50+ dollars with the same potatoes and a house salad with a honey based vinaigrette. The wife's salad was actually good, of course my ceasar salad to my surprise had some sort of oddly thrown together sweet dressing that the waitresses response when I asked about was " Yeah we do our Ceasar salads different here" and then walked away into the darkness. Then it happened--we received. Hand delivered by what seemed to be the GM or owner. Two plates of steak and potatoes that looked like we had plucked the ingredients from a buffet line and sloshed them on to a plate ourselves. But forget about presentation, my delmonico was cooked medium well, and my wife's "medium" filet was so rare it was blue! We never send food back at places, and we're embarrassed to even have to do so...but we just had to, even if they mixed the temps up they still got them wrong on both. What was more embarrassing was how we were treated when we showed our depressing, emotionless and thoughtless waitresses. She stared at them for a minute or two as if we were lying, took the plates without saying any words and disappeared into the abyss. My steak came immediately back out after we heard arguing in the kitchen. "Chef says this is medium rare. you might need to hold a light up to it to see, I'll be back with your filet." Annnddd back into the abyss she went. I took a better look at the steak and it was definitely not medium rare, but I was so hungry I decided to eat it, with my wife insisted on even though she was without her steak still...she knew I had been fasting all day. Her filet came out and instead of making her a new one, they just tossed her -now cut in half piece of meat - around on the grill and returned it in almost the EXACT same condition. The only difference was there was extra char on the outside. My wife scoffed at what was just set in front of her but, starving as she was, barely ate more than a few bites. -- but hey at least we got something to eat right? Two disgusting steaks that were not even seasoned nor the right temps, that we couldn't come close to finishing, with potatoes that were equally unfortunate--undercooked and under seasoned. Needless to say we were fed up, pushed our plates to the edge of the table and waited for waaaay too long for our waitress to come back. The best part: The robot of a waitress comes back over with boxes and a check, no mention of dessert...all this while clearly knowing we didn't like our meals and for good reason. We were too disgusted to speak up, we were now embarrassed for this reataurant...for whoever decided it wasn't worth it to serve good food, using wait staff that doesnt smell like cigarettes and maybe smiles from time to time, with prices that reflect the quality of that food, and that most importantly don't make the customers feel wrong when they clearly had screwed up as an establishment. And so we left. We left a good tip because we aren't degenerates, but most importantly we left that abysmal food where it belongs, sitting on our table as we walked out of the WORST STEAKHOUSE that my wife or I have EVER been too our whole lives. $160 down the drain and we still had to find something quick to eat after we left. Wife and another person had swelling tips, really about 4-5 pieces of meat. I had the ribs full slab...9 bones. The "signature" bbq sauce is horrible. Salty bbq sauce? Stuffed peppers were a good app however we only got one and a half. Look, it's just not a 30-65 per plate place. Lower prices may have got them another star. Had a wonderful meal at Ferris Steakhouse. Took my friend there for her birthday and we both had the Black & Bleu Filet and it was amazing! Cooked perfectly and the bleu cheese sauce on top was amazing! Our waitress was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive but gave us time and space to talk and catch up. She wasn't annoyed when we needed more time to look at the menu because we were chatting. They had a very nice wine and cocktail selection. Their bar area looked really nice and I could see sitting there having a drink and watching a game as they had tv's all around it. So I came here with my boyfriend the other night and I was hoping to give a few more stars this time but I just couldn't. The inside is very nice and the waitress was nice. My boyfriend got italian wedding soup and took one bite and was like that is not good. Now he is picky so I was like oh let me try it. I agree I would not order it, it just didn't taste good and wasn't seasoned well. We both got steaks. He got the cleveland strip and I had a filet. They were nice pieces of meat and cooked to order but again lacked flavor or seasoning. A side of mushrooms was 6 dollars and somehow those had no flavor either really. The best part of my meal was the ranch dressing on my salad it was so good! I had high hopes for this place even after reading all the reviews. The ambience was very nice and service was ok even though waitress forgot to put in for our fried calamari . The Detroit meal was good but not worth the price, my parter had the prime steak , stated it was awful. No flavor looked like they just threw it in the oven to cook it, and chewy and I realize why the waitress asked us if we wanted steak sauce . Complained to manger , he state no body says anything like about the food and that he will take care of us when we come back . No way I'm going back . Our dog got the steak. read more

We love steak a lot and we decided to go somewhere new and it was for the most part a mistake. The appetizer of French dipped sliders was actually amazing but the steak itself for my dinner was blah. It was over cooked and just blah no flavor at all. I always prefer to try and steak without steak sauce (especially at a steakhouse) but it needed love... anything.
