My partner and I were walking in Jackson Park HVL and decided to grab a bite on the way back to AVL. New Year decided to try new restaurant. Glad we did. This authentic and delicious Greek food will have us coming back for more and bringing friends as well. The lobster corn soup (bisque like) was perfect and delicious. It was served at the right temperature and needed no seasoning. The flavors were fully developed. It was an upcharge to the soup and salad selection but worth it. Salads and greek dressing were fresh and plentiful. Spanakopita was tasty and cooked in a wrap roll shape. Tried them for dinner. We had an appetizer of Grape leaves that was delicious! I had the lemon chicken and potatoes with green beans which was amazing! My husband had the Pastitsio which was also fabulous! Our server was awesome. Made some great recommendations and told us the feta and pitas were imported from Greece. Had the special crab and corn soup. Very delicious. Also had the kebabs which were very meaty and full skewers unlike some other places I've been. Had the grilled fish which was recommended and it was amazingly delicious and a good portion. The feta on the fries was definitely a hit , reminded me of the feta I had when I traveled to Greece years ago. So for sure imported and not local bought. Overall a great meal and great service. Another dining experience Shout Out! This time, my husband and I enjoyed a superb lunch today at Feta Flav Greek Taverna on 2111 Asheville Highway in Hendersonville, NC! It was our second time dining here! Today, we shared "The Clucker"....their grilled chicken tenders gyro, served in a pita with tzatziki, tomato or red bell peppers, raw red onion ($15.29). We also shared their famous stewed Greek Green Beans, which was one of the choices of sides included with the gyro. All of their menu items are their secret, family recipes that were passed down for generations. The Clucker, grilled chicken gyro was outstanding! Moist, tender, full of incredible flavors. Marinated and grilled to perfection. You take a bite and as you ate, the more different levels and depths of fabulous flavors appeared. Mmmm! Holy moly, it was good! Because it was so good, I took very small bites, taking my time to eat it! I wanted to savor and relish every single bite and all the fantastic flavors. Wow! Wow! Wow! The flavors were not over-powering. They had just right balance that was perfection. Oh! Their tzatziki sauce was amazing and so was their pita bread! Their famous Green Beans are stewed in a fabulous tomato sauce with lots of different spices. Shut the Front Door delicious! Everything was so good! As we ate our lunch and also on our drive home, we kept commenting on how good it was. We really enjoyed every.single.bite! We will have to try their dinners one night soon! Authentic Greek flavors in Hendersonville. A true Gem. My mom and I just had the most outstanding lunch. The menu was perfect and I wanted to order everything on it! We had the melitzanasalata dip, hortiki salata, mousaka, and grilled octopus. Everything was tasty and done exceptionally well. The grilled octopus, OMG Loved! One of the best meals I've had in a very long time. I loved it all; from the warm hospitality, Greek music playing, my favorite dishes down to the exquisite dessert. I enjoyed an incredible vanilla almond cake. Everything homemade and done traditional with noticeable culinary expertise. I will definitely return and bring the rest of my family and friends! Feta Flav was really something special. I was in doubt about what dish to choose, and the owner of the restaurant helped me all the way through the menu! At last, I went for a lamb shank. Walking in makes you feel like you are in Greece. From the scents to the ambiance. Clean, fresh, and friendly service was refreshing. The chef brought out the flaming cheese, which was a really, really nice touch. Lamb Shank Special was super tender, and the flavor was not diluted. Sides are great!! Green beans were pretty amazing, and the lemon potatoes are cooked perfectly - not over and mushy - they have this lemony sauce on them, which is something you want to sop up with your bread- no lie . The falafel was huge, so be prepared. It's flat flat too but creamy and flavorful! How doesn't you like fries with Greek seasoning and shredded feta cheese. The Spinach rice was cooked perfectly, and the flavor was awesome. Usually, you get this side like mush and no flavor so do not hesitate to get this side. The waitress was knowledgeable, confident and had great recommendations for sure. Try the lemonade- it was great. We will be back. Keep up the standards , we will help spread the word. The Greek food was good. The lady who ran the cash register was not very friendly towards her customers when we were there. We witnessed her reprimand a customer across the order counter in front of other customers to not bring her own drink in. Feta Flav provided one of those special meals to remember. I celebrated my 80th birthday with family and friends, 14 of us, there. From making the reservation to saying Kalinikta (goodnight) the staff was enthusiastic about making ours a happy occasion. The food, served in generous portions, was delicious. We started with Mezedes (appetizers) which quickly disappeared from the serving dishes as we passed them around the table. All of the entrees were praised. On my request when I made the reservation, they made my favorite Greek dessert, which is not on the menu. They also provided a personalized birthday cake. There is a small selection of wines and beers, some of them Greek. I would have loved ouzo to go with the mezedes, but they do not have that license. No one could possibly left Feta Flav at all hungry. I give them ten out of ten OPAHs. read more

After reading great reviews, we got the chance to try Feta Flav. The crab cake appetizer (loaded with crab) with spicy mayo and the complimentary garlic bread were a great start. We had the moussaka and Greek Salad. I've had moussaka a number of places and this was the best ever. The service was great, the food came out quickly and the appropriate temperature. The ambiance of this restaurant could be better as a dinner place. it's ok for lunch. Last night the entire restaurant was very hot. I had to fan myself w menu. I did enjoy the wine selection. however the Pistachio, was not even close to the traditional version. The bechamel sauce was broken and it had very little meat in it. no layers at all. We were only the second table in the restaurant area. They sat us immediately unfortunately it took a very long time to order our food. The appetizer took about 30 minutes to come out, it was delicious but partially burnt on the edges. Our waitress took about another 20 minutes to take our order for the main meal. Mama in Tarpon Springs was still making them in her nineties and they were great!! Feta Fav served them chilled and they are truly a delight. Next was Moussaka which was light, airy and so flavorful! I have dinner at Feta Flav twice in the last week. Both times the food was outstanding! We took out-of-town guests who had recently returned from a trip to Greece there, and they liked the food so much that they wanted to go back and try more of the menu while they were in town. Authentic recipes from the finest ingredients, most of which were imported from Greece are why the food is so good. Food was just ok. Ordered a mushroom gyro. The lettuce was brown on the edges like it's been sitting around for a few days. The mushrooms were really salty. Dessert was terrible, gloppy baklava, the filo was hard as a rock and ice cold. We needed a steak knife to cut it but it was inedible anyway. The waitress said it was from yesterday and came straight out of the refrigerator. Said that's how they serve it. The final injustice after an $80 something bill was they charged $1.00 for tazeki which comes on the sandwich but I asked for it on the side. We won't be back. read more

The owner/head chef, Alex, claims his food is better than that found in the famous Floridian Greek enclave of Tarpon Springs and, as someone who lives close by there, I am inclined to believe him! Hubster and I shared a saganaki (flaming cheese appetizer) and we shared a pastitsio for a main course. Huge portion! Our sides were the lemon potato wedges and the spinach rice dish. Both were excellent! The spinach rice dish, I believe, is the filling for the stuffed grape leaves! Dessert, of course, was baklava. Addictive! All in all, great experience and great food. The pastries are amazing! I haven't had a real deal pastry in a long time. The Gyros are delicious, the pita makes it. This was out of the way for me, but it was worth the detour.
