Very disappointed with my experience at Hot Tin during Essence Festival weekend. While I was there, the air conditioning was turned off, leaving guests sitting in an uncomfortably hot venue. During one of the busiest weekends of the year, that's simply unacceptable. As a regular customer, I expect businesses to prioritize their guests' comfort. It felt like customer experience wasn't a priority, and that's disappointing for a venue with such a great reputation. I hope management does better in the future because no one should have to spend their time and money in those conditions. read more

Great cocktails, helpful bartenders, good music selection and lots of seating options await. Note that there is no food served upstairs, not even bar snacks. What a gorgeous venue on the roof of the Pontchartrain Hotel in the Garden District of New Orleans! This rooftop bar is stylish and airy, was an amazing view of the city and the Mississippi River with the Crescent City Connection bridge lit up at night. Crowded and happening even on Wednesday night, this is a place to see and be seen, have a drink, listen to music, and take in the night. It definitely takes a while to get your drink because of the crowd, but worth it to spend some time at this space. read more

One of the best ways to get a breathtaking view of the city! While the outside patio was small with two tables and limited seating, it was a nice way to escape the heat! There is inside seating as well I ordered the Very Demure drink. It was soooo refreshing! I even had a second one. Obsessed with this place. I always take visitors from out of town here to make sure they see more than just the Quarter. I always suggest it as a spot for after dinner drinks. I LOVE this bar. They are pricey yes but the bartenders are nice and knowledgeable and make great tasting gorgeous drinks. I love their espresso martini. The view says it all. The outdoor seating is backless and a bit uncomfortable so we sat on a comfy couch facing the outdoors and still got a great view. The drink menu changes constantly but we all enjoyed ours. The ones with fresh fruit juices were the best- tangy and not too sweet. The music was loud and it was hard to have a conversation. If that's your scene, you're gonna love it. There's a small deck on the opposite side for a small group of maybe six or eight people. This was a very nice little rooftop bar/lounge on top of the Pontchartrain Hotel on the edge of the Garden District. The trolley drives right down the midway in front of it, so there are lots of ways to get here. For places to dine, the hotel has a chichi restaurant called the Jack Rose and this rooftop bar ... this review is for the latter. Taking the elevator up, you exit right into the covered lounge part of the rooftop bar. When weather is bad you can recline and savor a drink inside, and when weather complies you can sit at the outside railing that provides unparalleled views of New Orleans. Facing out from the railing, the Caesar's Superdome would be on your left and the Huey Long Bridge just off center in your sightline. The view excels at night when everything ... especially the bridge ... is lit. Drinks were excellent, either from their cocktail list or anything you'd like them to make ... they were up to the challenge. While there is someone going around taking orders, the fastest way to get a drink is to belly up to the bar yourself and bring it back to your seat. When this place is busy, it is busy. We witnessed a marriage propose on the outside patio which was sweet. I also liked how there's two main outside seating areas to go between in case one or the other gets too busy, however even the inside is still beautiful and cozy. I have been wanting to visit this rooftop. Finally got a chance on a Saturday evening. It was very cute but did not appear as big as it seems on pictures. Although it was pretty crowded at the time so maybe that's why it seemed smaller. From what I could see the views on the rooftop were very nice. You probably have to get there early to get a seat outside by the balcony. The decor inside is very nice and picturesque. It was a pretty hot day but the doors were closed making it feel muggy inside., They have one elevator. So you have to wait unless you want to go up 14 flights of stairs. The drinks were good. Has a mixture of age groups. I wouldn't mind going back but maybe on a different night. read more

Very strange to not make a formal announcement. I met a friend here to catch up and could see other couples on dates. Would consider this a place for all. Pro tip: take the elevator that has hot tin on it, not the one next to it---- or you'll walk up 2/3 flights of stairs from floor 11. Made that mistake, check out the pics for proof! This is a very nice rooftop bar at the Pontchartrain Hotel. It's a little dark as you walk in but you can spot the bar immediately. Bartenders were very nice and tended to us quickly. Drinks are little expensive but pretty normal for a rooftop bar environment. The scenery is worth a visit. read more

It was too windy and rainy to safely go outside, but that would likely have been an option otherwise. It is a pretty unpretentious rooftop hotel bar. I like the decor- it is similar to the feel of the hotel/ rooms. The staff was closing early because there was no one here because of the aforementioned weather but they gladly gave me a free sparkling wine that came with my hotel stay and prepared the drink of my choice. The Toucan Sam was fruity and not too sweet with a bitter finish. Boozy enough that one is good. Kinda pricy for NOLA at $18.75 with tax, but with a free sparkling it was well worthwhile. read more

Unfortunately, one of the bartenders, a dark haired woman with bangs, took offense to my mentioning that the gentlemen next to me had been waiting longer to place his drink order. "We took his order, don't tell us how to do our jobs" was her response to my attempt at politeness. Oh well.
