They enforce the mask policy but the tables are a little close to each other (for the heating likely). Food is good! For apps we got salad and deviled eggs. The salad was good but the eggs were amazing. I also got the salmon which was YUMMY! We also got the bolognese wit pasta which had great flavor but was a little watery. The bread pudding is a must although the portion is a little small (or I just eat a lot and wanted more?). Either way, so good. Cute place. Great service! Will be back! Decent prices but cheap. Everything was so delicious. I was skeptical on the Duck Confit but i was so good. Wished i had a bigger portion but worth it nonetheless. My partner got the bolognese and it was one of the most savory things i have tried. I wanted to eat both dishes. We also had the Frites with Truffle oil, parsley and Parmesan to share and it was amazing! They are a little pricey but not to bad. The bistro is not too big, it has limited indoor seating but it also has outdoor seating in courtyard that looks like cute French courtyard. Came here on Christmas eve and they said they weren't really expecting they'd get this busy. We didn't have to wait too long, we're seated outside but they put out heater for us. The server was really nice. My mom ordered the burger and wants her side to be substituted with the truffle oil fries with additional charge, they forgot about it but when the server was reminded they let us kept the regular fries and bring the truffle oil fries out. I had the soup and it was delicious. My husband had the bolognese which was really good. Would definitely come back again. read more

We ate here on a Friday evening. It is located in the extended set of shops and restaurants outside the main gate to Biltmore Estate. This place is on the edge of the development. I turned at their building/sign and took a 1-way driveway behind the building to what was apparently the parking lot for all the businesses (and some residents?). You should pay attention to signage here to ensure you don't park in the wrong area. Fig itself is sort of small, though they do have patio dining if the weather was nice (it was chilly and raining when we visited). I made reservations a couple of weeks in advance, which was probably a good idea. There is a bar and a generally L-shaped dining area. The vibe is upscale. Our waiter was very good. I enjoyed a pasta dish and I think my wife got a steak, which she liked. Neither of us had leftovers. I think they had a relatively good wine list also, though their website appears defunct and I didn't immediately see the menu on the FB page. If you want a quiet spot for a nice meal/date, this is a good choice. read more

The menu has changed since reopening after COVID-19 shutdown. Pork Chop Bone in, green beans & Lima beans apricot jam. Green beans and Lima beans were a substitute for the mushroom, leak and Gorgonzola pain haricot verts because of gluten free diet. Fig is one of Asheville's gems. It's a neighborhood spot for us. I love the small intimate space and the food and service are always phenomenal. The menu is small and purposeful. Celery salad, truffle pomme frites, mac and cheese - solid favorites. Recently had a short rib that was cooked to perfection. The truffle fries were good, but the truffle flavor was not very consistent throughout the fries. The pork chop was cooked perfectly and the sides were great but the pork had a bit of a smell to it. I have to disagree with other reviews about the bolognese. It was not good. It was a cream base unlike traditional bolognese, which is fine but the flavor was very very bland. read more

Dining at Fig Bistro is like being invited to dinner at your best friend's house and this friend is an amazing chef! Warm, welcoming and gracious staff and a fresh and fabulous meal. A nice airy restaurant located near the Biltmore. We dropped in for lunch and ordered deviled eggs, grilled salmon, mussels and pomme frites. The salmon, cooked to order, and the pomme frites, sprinkled with truffle flakes, were fabulous. The deviled eggs were a tad too lightly seasoned for my taste. The mussels were the weakest selection because they weren't at their freshest. The pacing of the dishes was disappointing. After quite a wait, the dishes arrived all at once. Came here last minute with a big ground the day before New Year's Eve. Fig was super accommodating when I called to see if they had any last minute reservations for a group of eight and they were able to fit us in later in the evening. Some member of our group were a bit louder than others and our waitress handled it in stride. I thought the menu had a nice variety of items, not huge, but a little something for everyone. I got the duck confit salad which was awesome. The duck was tender and super flavorful, the salad was an overall great compliment to the duck. Would recommend ordering that for sure. My husband and I also shared the bolognese and it was quite tasty as well. It was a good sized portion and plenty for the both of us to share. The space is super small so it does get quite loud when there are multiple large parties. The patio looked like a great option when the weather gets warmer. Fig used to be one of our favorite restaurants in Asheville. I loved the Steak Frites, and the fries were possibly the best in Asheville. Then, we had a really poor experience for dinner there a couple of years ago, and Fig dropped off our list. However, we recently gave it another try. It was better than our last experience there, but it's still not what it was. Steak Frites wasn't on the menu anymore, at least not the night we were there. So I had the burger and fries. The cheeseburger comes with ricotta cheese (!), on which I passed, and the fries were particularly disappointing. They are no longer served in a cone but were on the plate with the burger. They were undercooked and nothing like the frites that Fig used to do so well. I'd note that friends from Atlanta and Raleigh also recently tried Fig for lunch and were also disappointed in the burger and fries, especially the fries.) Service was okay, and I still like the small bistro atmosphere (there are fewer than 40 seats inside, plus some in a rather unappealing courtyard, and tables are close together). Mussels were pretty good. But in my opinion overall Fig is not what it once was. read more

Located in Biltmore Village (semi-hidden - you need to walk up stairs to find the entrance), this small, intimate restaurant was surprisingly able to accommodate a party of 9 (last minute). Our table was set upon arrival, and everyone seemed pleased with their meals. I ordered bread for the table ($2.50 each - would prefer if it was complimentary, of course) and I got mussels (listed as a starter) with a side of rapini (broccoli rabe) for my meal. The mussels were good, and it was a large portion, but I should have ordered to bolognese. Most of the main courses were small portions. The side of rapini was nothing exciting, but I wanted a vegetable. My $10 glass of rose was not the best, but I finished it. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and happily split our checks 9 ways. Each person's individual receipt came on a scrap piece of paper, which I kind of loved, as it did not fit the vibe of the restaurant at all, but I am all for reusing paper. The menu had a great variety of choices. There were 4 of us in the party- we ordered the Cesar salad, celery salad, short ribs x2, the salmon and the trout which was the featured fish that day. All of us really enjoyed our meals and didn't leave a thing on our plates. So how could we possibly turn down dessert? Of course we didn't. Nothing wasted there either.
