Charlotte was our wonderful server for lunch. She was so sweet and super welcoming. The food here is amazingly delicious!!! Small restaurant nice and busy with very nice boutique shops nearby. Highly recommend this restaurant when you are in the Biltmore Village. You will enjoy the service and the food!!!

I stopped in for lunch and I'm so glad I did. First of all, the lighting at lunch is fabulous. They have windows on both sides of the restaurant and it is just lovely. Bright, light, airy. Perfect lunch environment. Today I wanted something small and light so I asked my server what she suggested and she recommended the duck confit salad which was not on the menu so of course I went with that. It was the perfect recommendation and met my needs exactly. Satisfying but not too filling. I left perfectly happy.

This place is an absolute gym. I just came here for lunch and it was so delicious. Deviled eggs - beautifully presented just slightly lacking in flavor but not terrible. Grilled cheese- this has got to be the absolute best grilled cheese I've ever had in my life. The bread is toasted to perfection, it's light and buttery, and the combination of cheese and green apple is divine. My server's name was Ty or Tay. He made an old fashioned for me and it was his first time making one - I couldn't tell. This had to have been the most delicious old-fashioned I have ever tasted in my life. Friendly and accommodating staff and beautiful setting - highly recommended!

Crème Pots De Crème (Gf without the cookie topper - was wonderful). Bread Pudding which my husband says was amazing.

Amazing food! The service was great and very accommodating. I have gluten sensitivity and they did a great job making accommodations. Can't say enough good about this little gem. We will be back.

Fig Bistro is our favorite restaurant when we are in Asheville. The intimate ambiance, as if you're visiting friends. The food is always very good; even the hamburgers!! We had salmon and tilefish on Saturday with PEI mussels as an appetizer.

    Fabulous cioppino!

We had an amazing dinner this evening at Fig's. It was some of the best food we've had in months! The cioppino was fabulous. I am Cieliac/gluten-free and absolutely loved the salmon with a white zucchini sauce with gluten-free bread. we highly recommend.

Just go. Josh is a magician with what he does in the kitchen! Ate most of the things before I was able to take a picture but everything from the celery salad, to the entrees, to the olive oil cake dessert were better than we could ever have imagined.

    Teenager approved.

Fig is a cozy spot right in Biltmore Village with the look of a trendy bistro, limited but delicious and decadent menu, and top notch service! We recently visited for our anniversary and brought our son along. My husband ordered the short ribs which were not short on flavor (ha ha) and cooked to perfection. My son and I both enjoyed the pan seared salmon on fingerlings. A perfect amount of food and all cooked to please. They've got house cocktails, teas, sodas, and local brews to accompany your meal. Don't forget to grab dessert--we ordered the panna cotta and it was melt in your mouth heaven! If you're looking for something a little different, with easy parking, close to downtown, this is your spot!

So glad to see that Fig is open for dinner several nights a week. Jakob was our server and a delightful person as well. Tartare, arugula salad, mussels, bolognese and Pot de crème were all delicious. Worth checking out for lunch or dinner.

The incredibly polite hosts said they would see what could be done, and less than 10 minutes later we had a lovely table. Let me tell ya, if you like seafood get your butt to the Lobster Trap. The oysters were very fresh and delectable. The blackened snapper and coconut crusted halibut were to die for. Seriously one of the better meals of my 42 years. Albeit, somewhere pricy, but honestly well worth it (especially when on vacation). Get on down to the Lobster Trap and you will not regret it. The catfish is the best I've had in Asheville, so far. I've tried Good Hot Fish, some of the other oyster houses and the po-boys at Sunny Point, but Crab du Jour is my fave, when it comes to catfish. Everyone is cordial and accommodating here. The sweet potatoes could use a little soul food mama help, but otherwise, everything I've had here has been delicious, from the clams, mussels, shrimp, sausage, corn and potatoes. When it finally did, the seafood didn't seem particularly fresh, and the catfish was overcooked to the point of being burnt. To the restaurant's credit, they did offer a discount after the issue was brought to their attention, which I appreciated. However, the quality of the meal simply wasn't what I expected. One thing that also stood out was the feedback box near the cashier. It was so overloaded with comment cards that it honestly made me wonder whether the feedback is ever reviewed or acted upon. If customer comments are being collected, there should be a visible effort to address the concerns people are taking the time to write down. I hope this was just an off day, but between the long wait, poor food quality, and the impression that customer feedback may not be taken seriously, I don't see myself returning.

The restaurant's decor is eccentric - lots of taxidermied wildlife, cookbooks, and (from our vantage point in the loft) giant jars of Duke's mayonnaise - and the food is worth going back for. I had the steak frites, my husband tried the pork chop Milanese, and we shared the marmalade tart. My filet was cooked and seasoned perfectly, and the accompanying sauce was silky smooth and addictive. The fries were salty, crispy perfection. My husband gave his pork chop high marks as well. I tried a bit of the sweet pea salad served with it, and I was suddenly 4 years old, following my mom through the garden and eating more peas than I dropped into my little basket. Fresh, pure summer. The marmalade tart was a great way to end the meal. Perfect balance of bitter and sweet. One caveat: This may not be the place if you're looking for an evening of quiet conversation. The room's acoustics bounced every sound off of every wall, and the resulting cacophony made it hard to hear each other or our very kind and efficient server at times.

I'm here for my eldest son's birthday and of course our first dinner here, with his wonderful group of friends would of course be at The Admiral Restaurant; most likely the best restaurant in town. I've been to The Admiral several times before, so I'm making this review an updated version of just how good a place can still hold its reputation. For a restaurant so damn good, there is nothing fancy about it. It's set up like a small town diner; and that's what makes it so much comfortable. The service is spot on and their menu has so many wonderful choices at not "break the bank" prices. Us six diners ordered: * Caesar salad - for a southern restaurant making a Caesar this good, it was enchanting! It had Croutons, Parmesan and Anchovy * Ribeye Steak - see above accolade! With tallow confit potatoes, glazed carrots, chimichurri, goat cheese * Cheeseburger with fries - a mile high beauty with Cheddar, Dijonnaise, B&B Pickles, grilled Onion, and fries - was enchanting * Beef Tartare - with chile aioli, mustard seed, chive, ramp, black garlic, egg yolk * Smoked Trout Mantecato had black pepper-parmesan toast, Furikake, yuzu tobik * Airliner Chicken Breast with crispy red rice, tomatoes, romano beans, herb Every dish above was excellent. For a restaurant to be this consistent (after ten years for me) states just how dedicated this restaurant is for impeccability.

I found Chestnut on Yelp and decided to wander in. The space has this elevated modern rustic vibe with a southern twist and a little bit of sass. They even sell shirts that say neither hoity nor toity, which cracked me up. Honestly, the atmosphere was great, but our waitress was the real star. She was absolutely phenomenal and looked after us perfectly. My palate was pretty fried, so I started with a Bloody Mary to wake up. Truth be told, it was just okay. The house mix had an odd flavor that nobody at the table could quite identify, and it seriously lacked spice. It was just kinda bland. I noticed a bottle of Firewalker hot sauce on the table, and splashing that in helped a little bit. After that, I transitioned to a mimosa. You really cannot mess up a mimosa too much, and it was a solid, reliable second drink. For the main event, I ordered the southern chicken and waffles. This came with a fried chicken breast sitting on golden malted waffles, smothered in sausage gravy, and drizzled with chipotle honey. It was a really great dish. The kitchen did a solid job with the fry on the chicken, and the gravy had a nice flavor. It leaned a little on the sweet side because of the honey, but it was not totally overdone. The real sleeper hit of the morning, though, was the side of cheesy grits. Those grits were absolute heaven. They were incredibly creamy and perfectly seasoned. If you go, you have to order them. Chestnut is in a great location, and despite the weak Bloody Mary, it was a stellar visit.

The pork chop was excellent. The grilled carrots were genuinely memorable. The green salad was simple and well done. Our waiter recommended a wine that we were pleased with, and even offered a tasting. The wine list is deep for a room this size, and the cocktail list looks the same.
