Went to Fins and Feathers in the Arts District the other night and honestly had a really good time. Their happy hour menu is actually really good, lots of options and pretty decent prices. I wasn't even planning to eat much but ended up ordering more than I thought cause the food came out super tasty. They also do karaoke which just made the vibe even more fun. The bar itself had a good energy, people were friendly and it didn't feel like one of those spots where you're waiting forever for a drink. The drinks, wings, fries, crab legs, and broccoli were all 10/10. The buffalo wings were perfectly fried to perfection. Easily the best happy hour in the art district/downtown and it keeps me coming back! The restaurant is spacious and has several different places to sit depending on your vibe. The bar is small but enough for a few solo guests, the outside patio is indoor/outdoor perfect for any season, the back lounge gets pretty lit with different events multiple days of the week, and the upstairs seating is really cool to see a bit of the strip especially at night. My favorite items on the menu are the catfish nuggets, dynamite shrimp, and jerk chicken egg rolls. Even items I've tried from others have been flavorful. There are also plenty of drink options, however I do feel they could be a little more balanced. Depending on when you go, the service is pretty good. If it's busy it may take a long time to get serviced or checked on. But the staff is very personable. Incredible food, some of the best fried chicken I've had in Vegas. The chicken and waffles were amazing, the waffle was soft yet held its texture and had a cinnamon note that went incredible with the chicken. The fries were well seasoned and I finished all of them, something rarely done when I normally get a side of them. I'll start with the good. The blackened shrimp and grits were AMAZING, 10/10. Amazing. The biscuit was also delicious. Now to the issues. We were sat in the sun, could barely even eat or just sit and chat without melting from the heat and having to shield our eyes, asked if we can move to a different table that we noticed was open and were told "no", because another party is arriving soon. Which is fine, BUT the party never showed up the entire time we ate. Fin & Feathers is a restaurant and hookah lounge, and they sat me in the room that had a live deejay who jammed nothing but classic R&B and hip-hop on a Friday night. The catfish, macaroni and cheese, and cheese grits were all top-tier and succulent! I loved my food and the music! I don't smoke, so I was a little concerned about secondhand smoke. However, on the night I attended, no one smoked in my vicinity. I will definitely return to try out other food items, and it's a place that could be enjoyed solo, with friends, or on a date. read more

I had been wanting to try this restaurant and we were in the area and decided to pop in on a Tuesday at 630pm. It was quite busy in here for that time, so if you're trying to come in for a weekend brunch, I'd highly recommend making a reservation. It's via text message only but seems to be quite easy and straightforward. The place is pretty small, it seems to be a portable/temporary building (like offices at a construction site) so the inside is small but the patio holds quite a few people. It wasn't a warm night but the swamp cooler on the patio works well to keep you cool. I wasn't so sure about my first impression. We walked in and someone came up to us right away and asked us if we wanted inside or outside. We said inside (only one table was taken) but we ended up outside because he "couldn't find any menus inside." No worries, outside was fine. He also couldn't find any menus outside but told us to sit wherever we wanted and to scan the QR code at the table for the menu. He then also handed us one menu he found at the table next to us. Our server came right away and asked us about waters and drinks. We got tap water and needed time to peruse the menu. We were still there in time for happy hour and I would have tried a cocktail if I had not just had two somewhere else. Our server came and checked on us quite a bit but I can understand why people complain about the service in here a bit. Two of the tables around us had to wait an extremely long time for their server to take their orders. At one point the table behind my husband was just shouting their drink order to the bartender at the bar window. The food was great, even if I didn't get what I ordered. I ordered the Southern Fried Chicken, 2 thighs, with cheesy grits and a Chef's Salad. I received the Southern Fried Chicken but with 3 wings, cheesy grits and a Caesar Salad. It took a bit of time to come and we needed to get going so I never complained but it was quite funny. I didn't have complaints though. Those chicken wings were amazing, perfect flavor and cook, super juicy and tasty. The grits were also excellent. My husband's Fire Chicken sandwich was fire, extremely tasty. The male waiter we had was horrible. I mean it. I have never written a review like that. The food was ok but it wasn't giving culinary, it was basic. You literally could make it at home. I feel like if you go out in Vegas you want a reason to keep coming back. There's nothing on the menu that makes me say I have to go here. Maybe I need to try these jerk egg rolls. The service isn't one of the big sellers. I love to see black owned, empowered, and employed. I didn't see any frozen drinks on the menu. It seats 25 so text for reservations. Since it was just me I didn't have to wait and was seated at the bar which had 5 chairs. The bartender was personable and nice. I got a whiskey sour , a chicken Caesar wrap and 4 wings w fries. I was surprisingly too full for the fries. Everything was tasty. A majority of the seating is on the patio which was covered, but we came in on a cold, windy and rainy (yes in Vegas) night and literally froze the entire visit even with the patio covered. We ordered a variety of items: thigh nuggets, wings, fried catfish, fried chicken sandwich, stuffed chicken sandwhich & grits, fried pickles, jerk chicken egg rolls and drinks along with a variety that of sides - Mac and cheese and broccoli. I wasn't overly wowed by the food. Wasn't a fan of the sides or apps the best thing was the fried pickles. The rating is more geared to the overall customer experience a d service. The service could use some work, granted it was a Saturday however it took a long time to get acknowledged at the table to get drinks started, longer to order and a huge wait to get our food. I had an extremely disappointing experience with one of the hostesses at this restaurant. Her name is Rachael & she was unprofessional, disrespectful, and made the environment very uncomfortable. Instead of treating customers with courtesy, she was rude, crossed personal boundaries, and even told certain customers they were no longer welcome after previous personal interactions. The lack of professionalism and favoritism created an atmosphere that felt inappropriate and unwelcoming. Management should take customer complaints seriously and ensure employees maintain professional boundaries with guests.
