I have always been a fan of Finneys Westlake...unfortunately our experience here at the new Porter Ranch location was only 3 star worthy "for now" Not very accommodating for large parties-9 of us waited 1.5 hrs on a Tuesday evening and they really struggled with organizing how to seat us. I know they were waiting for people to leave but when I witnessed what the hostesses did with a patio seating option, truly a poor choice I was frustrated... there was a four top open and another adjacent table nearby was obviously leaving soon yet they sat two people at the four top and within 10 minutes the other table opened up? Ugh! We waited at least another 15 minutes after that... The drinks were great and Abigail the bartender took great care of us! Our waitress was also amazing (so sorry can't remember her name) Appetizers were good! Loved the onion ring tower! They did over cook our 3 orders of coconut shrimp, fried it a bit too long :o( still was good and being that we were all starving there was no way we were going to complain or send it back. My pastrami Rubin, while it was quite flavorful was disappointing, the meat was thick sliced which I find strange for pastrami, it was tough and had a lot of fat-thick fat! Yuck! So...much of my sandwich inners ended up on my plate. I chose not to complain or send it back as I was starving and just wanted to enjoy. Everyone else was happy with their food. Honestly...The overall dinner was a hit and i think it's because of the service! We were celebrating my birthday and they also blessed us with complimentary desserts which was so nice and unexpected! Staff was great BUT as usual to go order wasn't made right. I ordered loaded tots n got charged but only thing we got was scallions. This is not my first bad experience which is why I'd not been back. Unfortunately it was disappointing again. Our server was nice and friendly and gave great service which is why the 2 stars. Their menu isn't too big but does have quite a variety of choices. I had their prosciutto and arugula flatbread with cauliflower crust and it was delicious! Their Cadillac margaritas are pretty good too surprisingly for a craft house. Their patio was very nice for a lunch outing. read more

Decided to give this place a try, from the photos of the food and drinks, it looked good! Well good was not enough to describe it, after about an hour wait, we finally got in and immediately ordered different appetizers and drinks. They were AMAZING! Tasty bites and delicious drinks, everything was so good. The service was so fast and fantastic! I absolutely loved how the manager that night Stacy was soooo attentive to us and all tables. She checked on everyone over and over with a smile and making conversation, that's how a manager should be at all restaurants. Food was good, nothing spectacular. We got the truffle burger and fries. Service was ok. For a Thursday, after Happy Hour, it was still busy. Waiter only came around once to refill waters but barely checked on us. Ambiance is ok- for a newish restaurant the leather seats were ripped and the floors were sticky. Overall experience was ok. You can totally taste the guava in the margarita and the tajin rim was an interesting add. Don't bother with the mojito-I should have read the description because I would have seen that there is NO passionfruit (what?!). I went to Finney's on a Saturday night and the bar had several open seats. Was immediately greeted by the bartenders and ordered the Yuzu Buffalo Wings (boneless) ($14) and the Mai Tai ($14) by recommendations. I have no complaints about either item. The Wings were mildly spicy and the quality of the chicken was great (no fat). The bartender was friendly, attentive and didn't push my group to order any more items. I ended the night by ordering their Finney's Mosaic IPA which was solid ($7). Enjoyed my time here and would come back. read more

Actually all their margaritas are on point. Moroccan salad - I could eat this everyday Cheeseburger sliders - probably the best sliders of any bar. We come here often. Friday late night, at the front desk, we had a bad experience with the person taking names and managing the waitlist. We were quoted over an hour and a half for our group of 10 and told we would most likely not get seated before they closed. I tried to break up our group into a party of 6 and 4 and shared we were happy to sit on the patio. The front desk person said that it wouldn't help at all. She was unhelpful and unfriendly. She tried to dissuade us from putting our name on the list and I found this to be so rude. She could've even told us to put our name and check back but we got nothing from her. My friend added her name anyways and we ended up going to another restaurant who had a friendly front desk person who was helpful (and they were just as busy). So disappointing! read more

I'm a big Finneys fan. I've visited many locations and I can't think of a bad time I've had. I've been to the Porter Ranch location quite a few times and the food has always been so delicious, no matter what I order. I went yesterday for my 25th bday and we feasted on the garlic parmesan wings (one of my favs), the carnitas nachos, and the loaded tots. Everything was super good! I really love the Nashville chicken sliders so I think next time I'd get them instead of the loaded tots, but that's just my personal preference. I really love the drinks here. Usually I order the Raspberry Smash or strawberry Fields, but my bf and I got Cadillac Margaritas and they were intense! I had two and had a wonderful night lol. The service is good! Our waitress was very kind and helpful and even staff that passed by our table were helpful, grabbing us napkins when they noticed we needed them. The atmosphere is like a trendy American food joint, with lots of TVs to watch sports and fun bar seating. Overall, I definitely recommend trying Finneys Porter Ranch if you're nearby and looking for some good grub and a fun time. read more

Being an aficionado of Irish pubs, this is a great place! They do a great job of fusing the ambience of a sports bar feel to it in one section, and a gorgeous decorated restaurant in the dining section (as well as the patio). 2.5 stars, was really a two star, but the staffs friendliness, gave them a 2.5. I really wanted to like Finney's. It's a great location, next to a theatre and numerous other shops. Environment: inside is pretty small and cramped, however they have a lot of outdoor seating, but jot my thing in 100 degree weather. I also want to not that the temperature inside the restaurant was very warm and uncomfortable. I do Like the design of the place, fits the "Crafthouse" theme. Staff: Staff are all super friendly, but maybe spread a little thin on the wait staff (Could be do to Covid, but there were three people greeting, which is IMO obsessive for such a small place). Drinks were often empty waiting to be filled, but due to the staffing issues that are out of their control. I'm willing to overlook that. Food: Here's where the place fell way short. All the food looked great, but...We ordered two appetizers, Carnitas Nachos, and the Bacon and Cheese Tots. Nachos had way to much of the vinegary dressing that overpowered everything else, and made it taste like you were eating chips with dressing, not a fan (I will say that if you got a piece of the Carnitas without the dressing, it was very good). The Bacon and Cheese tots were decent, they used a great bacon, but the whole thing was covered in some sort of vinegar, I think that the chef like the "acid" flavor profile. The prices that weren't so vinegary were really good. We ordered 2 burgers, Cobb salad, and a Rueben. The Cobb was very good, with quality bacon, blue cheese, and grilled chicken. Burgers were dry, and the meat had that toughness to it, kind of like what you get at Red Robin. Most of the meat in my Rueben (pic below) was absolutely charred, almost beyond recognition. I was going to send it back, but since the wait staff was so busy, and I didn't want to add to their load, and the heat, plus the wait that would inevitably happen on this busy day, we decided to pay our bill and leave. I would like to say that I'll be back to give them another chance, but with so many other great places in the same parking lot like, I'm not sure I will. Maybe this place is more about the alcohol and less about the food. read more
