While staying in Anchor Bay, visiting family for Thanksgiving, I thought I'd treat them to a local establishment on Washington Street. Their food is wonderful, the service is great and it has a relaxing atmosphere. Only drawback was the calamari, which was a bit flavorless. It wasn't overcooked, but it was frozen and not fresh from the seafood market. I would go back for their delicious wedge salad, one of the best and most certainly, the best looking! We went in for a late lunch. We had two servers, the first was gruff but the second was nice. The food was good. I had the fish sandwich and my partner had the perch dinner. The fish sandwich was especially good. My main complaint is with the price of the beer. A Stella is $8! That is more than most of the wines on the menu. I'm also complaining about it because the beer list doesn't include prices. Please add prices to the drink menu so people aren't caught off guard with high priced beers! read more

I wish it was better... I want to love this place, but can't. The kitchen is inconsistent, as is the service. "Rare" prime rib can sometimes be had, other times they serve it medium well, and call it rare, dried out and nasty. Baked potatoes are often under cooked. Burgers are horrible, and seem like they start out their life in the kitchen as a frozen patty. The shrimp po boy is equally as bad (way too much bread, the bread is hard, not enough shrimp). Chicken pot pie is devoid of chicken (and it costs something like $18!... you'd think they could put a few cubes of chicken with some gravy under a damn puff pastry for $18!). Their old fashioned is one of the worst I've ever had (I will gladly make you a proper one... and would gladly make mine myself if you set the ingredients on the bar...), and they lied when they said that their margaritas are made with fresh lime juice... They're not. What is good? Fish specials are generally good. Bang bang shrimp is delicious. Prime rib is good, when it's cooked right. Spanish coffees are delicious. Club sandwich is good, but nix that Texas toast... way too much bread. Don't sit by the high top near the bathroom, you'll hear nothing but drama. Apparently Jesse got sent home, and Chelsea kept seating the section, even though there's no one serving it, and some 50 year old waitress with an ankle tat thinks its the worst thing in the world that she worked a double on Saturday, and she's back to work on Sunday... while that damn Jesse got the day off... Save your drama, your customer's do not need to hear it. Your shit attitude, and constant bitching is costing you tips. read more

I've been here a handful of times during the past year-ish or so and it's always been great. Normally come on Sunday morning for the bloody mary bar and brunch. I've always found the service and cleanliness of the place to be completely acceptable. Nothing that wowed me in any way, but certainly serviceable or better. Breakfast items are reasonably priced but lunch and dinner items can start getting pricey. I typically order the 2 eggs and meat breakfast which also comes with hash-browns and toast. Not hard to mess that up. It's good but nothing to rave over. the BM bar is great, 2 you break even on the cost, any more than that your doing yourself a favor. they have great toppings and options on the bar, so you cant complain there! read more

The salad was good.... but the pieces of lettuce were huge... you definitely had to chop it yourself. My friend and I ordered the surf and turf. It's NYE. The turf was like eating turf. There was a piece I couldn't chew. The loaded potato tasted like it had been sitting out and reheated. Then I ordered a coffee, which was cold and they didn't have a coffee cup available. So it was served in a cocktail glass. Also the surf was supposed to be 4 oz... it was more like 2. First and last time here. $70.00 just for mine. I did have a drink and a glass of wine. I'm not picky when it comes to where I sit. Like, at all. Booth or table? Doesn't matter. Inside or outside? Wherever you have room is fine. But when the patio is absolutely coated in fish flies, reeks of decaying something and the heat is quite intense, I do mind being told by the hostess as soon as we request a table for two, "You HAVE to sit outside." Now, the place was decently packed, but I could clearly see that there were one or two smaller tables being turned, which I assumed we could have been sat at if the hostess requested us to wait x amount of minutes for an inside seat. Then comes our waitress. Like I said, it was packed, but the lady who was serving us was definitely scattered. First, she gave us water and left for 10 mins. Then came back, took my partner's beer order - a tall Two-Hearted - and left for another 10. And this repeated. All. Night. Long. But when she did come back with his beer, it was a short instead of a tall. If you're having a busy night, that's an easy mistake - but it's also easy to fix. It's too bad the waitress didn't notice until my partner said, "Could I please have another TALL Two-Hearted?" Though he declined the free short beer she offered because he was driving, it was brought anyways. Kind of...rude, in my opinion. And lastly, our dinner. It was nothing special. I got the shrimp alfredo and my partner got the cod. My shrimp were juuuuust about done, but I requested them to be cooked a bit longer. Oh, well. At least they were cooked. And his cod was kinda soggy and flavorless. Again, nothing special. This specific visit doesn't deserve more than 3 stars, in my opinion. It wasn't awesome, but it definitely could have been or gotten worse. I will update my review the next time I'm here. read more

Oh boy where to start I have eaten here before about 6 months ago it was pretty good anyway went there for my birthday today different story I am a FOOD SERVICE SPECIALIST taken many courses on food safety (servesafe) and some first I ordered fish and chips greasy fish no flavor fries were soggy also fried in the same oil as the fish. My daughter who has a fish allergy got chicken tenders that were also fried in fish oil she boxed it up looked at me we paid and left (shes ok took her medication) the other is where was the manager why was this going on inside the kitchen then I got home sick to my stomach I don't need to say anymore I was with 4 others who all have stomach issues after this cross contamination big time all the food was fried in the same oil read more

This is a neat place but we came here for mimosas and breakfast. The mimosas were just okay; a little too much OJ. We had to have the second ones with just a little OJ. The breakfast was overpriced for what I got. We asked for bacon to be crispy and had to send it back. Hash-browns were good. The patio is cute and it's a great location. First time at Fin's, my wife and I live in Algonac, and was told the Restaurant had great food and service. We started with a wonderful hostess, she explained there was an upstairs (With/View), but we opted for downstairs. We had the best waitress, she asked us for drinks, choice, and explained the specials and menu. We started with spinach and artichoke dip (starter) came with toasted French bread, by far the best we have ever had. I also ordered the clam chowder also, the best l have had. What makes this a 5-Star is the personal contact, we had with owners/manager, wanting to make sure of a positive experience. We already have our next lunch or dinner planned, I want to try there onion soup and my wife wants to try there chicken quesadilla. We love this place, and felt at home. read more

I felt like I was treated like an idiot when I had brought the wrong purse and didn't have my cards on me but I had Apple Pay, he spoke to me as if I was a broke idiot and his demeanor was quite rude. I'm the type of person who is quick to have a solution to a problem and I offered one, and he still treated me like some idiot and it was very unnecessary. I actually came to here to apply for a interview before for a job that I didn't even need just to make my mom happy, I have lots of money saved. Nice place on Main Street in New Baltimore. Lots of fish and shrimp, good tap selection and really nice bottle beer selection. I had the corned beef, very good, the fries are super thin-I prefer a thicker cut but that's just me, they tasted fine. Service was prompt and polite including a visit from the manager. We started with calamari which was amazing! We are calamari connoisseurs. Lol Alexa was our waitress. She was awesome. Drinks were not strong my friend had the cucumber Fresca. She didn't taste alcohol in hers and I barely did in mines. However my drink was tasty. Lol. The white fish was amazing! I also had a side of green beans. They were bland looking so I added lemon, salt and pepper and they were perfect. Tasted better than a restaurant I tried in Birmingham, MI. Fish and chips was delicious! They originally put a scoop of fries on the plate which appeared to be the bottom of the bag initially but Alexa replaced them right away! WOW! Treat patrons like we were treated and you will soon have plenty of room to seat people because no one will be eating at your establishment. 1. Wanted to sit on the roof, they don't seat tables of 6 up there. We offered to split up our party, still a no. Which is weird because we could have gone 3 & 3 or if a 4 top and 2 top walked in they could have been sat up there. 2. A nice waitress but extremely green, in fact, we thought the bar was punking her because she brought out our drinks one at a time. By the time I got a glass of wine my husband was 1/2 way through his beer. Totally weird. A caring and helpful manager or waiter mentor would shorten her learning curve-hopefully she finds another job elsewhere because we could see the potential. 3. Food not especially impressive, I got the upscale grilled caprese sandwich. So much oil on it that I had to wipe my hands with each bite. It is unfortunate that Potbelly's caprese is much better. Fish was Ok but not great. 4, After our meal went upstairs just to check it out, There were tables on the second floor that easily have sat 6. We then went to the balcony empty tables everywhere . We were then approached by an older gentleman who then kicked us off the Balcony, Overall if you don't want to feel welcome and are interested in mediocre food try Finns.
