First time I've been in since the pandemic. The food tasted OK, but they seemed a bit short staffed. Maybe that was because I went in about 430PM, so between the lunch and dinner rushes. I was a little put off that they only had plastic teaspoons, which made it difficult to eat my large bowl of soup! Again, maybe they are short staffed and hadn't washed the dishes from lunch. I stopped in this morning after shopping, right after 11:00. I ordered the Pad Thai with Chicken and two pork egg rolls. There were no other customers yet but.. these guys were filling several online orders very quickly. I got my order to go and it only took max 10 minutes. I ordered from Fire Bowl Cafe few times a month. But last experience that I had pissed me off really bad. I ordered Pineapple fried rice around 8.30 pm pm and went to pick it up at 8.45 pm. When I left, they turned off the light right away. I didn't know what was going on until I got home. The food was horrible. It was damn salty, it numbs my tongue. I am so mad because I was tired and my food was not prepared correctly then I have to go out to find another food for the night. If they dont want to take order after 8.30pm, they should shut down the online order at 8.30pm. I reported the incident the next morning but I heard nothing back from them. Excellent customer service, clean and attended environment. The food was served hot and fresh in no time at all. Chicken Pad Thai was flavorful and had a generous amount of protein. Our favorites however, were the appetizers. The Crab Rangoons and Veggie Egg Rolls were absolutely delicious. We could've ordered 3 more servings and still left wanting more. I had the chow fun beef with garlic sauce and thai veggie mix. It was good. great flavor but the meat was kinda chewy. I finally had to try to hack it down with the butter knives they have. I twas good the first day but as left overs the meat got chewier. Had to deduct 2 stars for that b/c normally asian food tastes even better the 2nd day. . I had a really great time at Firebowl Cafe, I'm just not a huge fan of the food. When I came here around 5pm on a Wednesday, my friend and I were the only ones there, but it began to get busier around 6. I ordered the Stir Fry Your Way with Shrimp, Thai Veggie Mix, Fire Sauce and Ramen Lomein. I asked the cashier which sauce was the spiciest because I'm Thai and like to eat very spicy foods and she suggested the Fire Sauce. I figured none of the sauces would actually be spicy because this place strikes me as an Americanized chain and unfortunately I was right. The service was great overall and we got our food very quickly, which at first impressed me, but also made me wonder about the quality of my food if I was able to get it within 5 minutes of ordering. The food wasn't bad, but wasn't good enough for me to choose to eat here again. The noodles felt pretty soggy for a stir fry, but I liked the shrimp and veggies. I will say the portion size is great for what you pay! Overall, not a bad choice if you're limited on options or want something fast. read more

Wife was driving around in la frontiera and decided to grab some food. Kind of felt like some Chinese food the decided to stop by stop fire bowl. My food was OK at first got the pineapple chicken ate about half of it, and noticed there was something in my food that wasn't chicken or rice. It was something fried cut it open and it stunk. Lost my appetite after that. We also ordered crab ragoons Instead of giving us crab ragoons we got 6 veggie egg rolls. Was very unsatisfied with my food in general. read more

I'm reviewing this restaurant because my recent experience showed that the manager at this location truly works to increase their bottom line. I called in to order for myself a standard menu item. My husband was planning on another meal altogether different from my order at FireBowl because they no longer offered the dish he previously had ordered here; red Thai curry. It was explained to me the dish was cancelled from the lack of ingredients available. When I arrived at the given time to pick up my order, the manager remembered my request about the red Thai and suggested that maybe my husband try another curry dish on the menu. He explained it would be less spicy and that it was a favorite. My husband agreed to try it and was happy he did. So, another sale was made! I appreciated the information and the manager's good memory. Now we will revisit FireBowl in the future. Well done! read more

The quest for Halloween candy brought me back to Fire Bowl Cafe which I haven't visited in years. I vaguely remember the last visit, but I then remembered as a went down the sequence. The sequence consists of a protein, vegetables, sauce and ends with a choice of rice. I then chose chicken, spring vegetables, Kung pao sauce and fried rice. My dish was pretty because the vegetable mix was fresh and the Kung pao flavor was pretty flavorful. However, there simplified menu takes away from most of rye signature dishes because my dish didn't have peanuts. Also, the portion size was lacking. I don't give 5 stars easily. I ordered through Uber Eats, quick delivery. Food came packaged really nicely in separate boxes and containers. Food was great and the ingredients tasted more fresh than any other Chinese place I've ever had. They are not stingy like most places when it comes to the quality of food or providing sauces requested. I ordered fire fire on the spice level and did not find it that spicy. Next time I'll order fire fire fire...I also thought the spices/flavor were less than Id like but maybe that's just me. Despite that I'm still giving 5 stars based on everything else. I've tried just about every single thing on the menu here at Fire Bowl Cafe in Round Rock, and have just about HATED everything I've tasted. However, they do have one redeeming delicacy: The Fortune Cookie. This place has THE BEST tasting fortune cookies I have ever consumed! If it weren't for Fire Bowl's fortune cookies, I can't fathom how they'd ever manage to stay in business - all the other food here tastes quite nasty to me for some reason. I was very hesitant to eat here. After the crazy long day I had I was starving and craving fast asian food, mainly orange chicken. It was close to my residence and quick so I decided to give it a try. This is not like your typical Chinese restaurant, it's more modern and fast for the younger generations. My first perception is that it was another Panda. I ordered beef, spring veggie mix with szechuan garlic on white rice. Brought it home and took my first bite and was blown away. Holy crap that is good!! The flavor is just enough and not salty and overpowering. The amount in the container looks small but they pack the food in there, and they were generous with the meat and veggies. I was in cheap chinese food heaven! This day I learned not to judge a restaurant by it's decor lol. Thanks for the yummy food Fire Bowl, I'll stop by next time I have a craving! read more

I have worked near this place for almost nine years and I have only been here a handful of times. I went yesterday because I wanted fresh food with an Asian taste. I ordered the Chicken stir fry with Thai Veggie mix and Thai Pepper sauce. I chose the flat noodles to go with the stir fry. The taste of it was really good. The veggies were fresh. Only complaint is that I wish their chicken was cut into bite size pieces, but I will not complain if that jeopardizes the amount of chicken I will receive in the future. There was a decent amount of meat in my dish. I have tried different things there and it was not bad at all. I definitely invite you to try them out. They are always packed at lunch so they must be doing something right. The main reason why I do not come here often is because that one stir fry noodle dish I had was $9.04 with tax. That is just for the food since I did not get a drink. I got this to go so please be sure to grab some napkins and sauces (hot sauces) before you leave. The bag was packed with the standard to go package of one napkin, spoon and fork with salt & pepper packets. I personally need more napkins than that. read more

I tried the bulgogi beef w/flat noodles called chow fun. It was a solid 3 star. The bulgogi beef had some flavor and was pretty chewy, I spiced it up with some chili sauce. My wife had the classic Chinese chicken with thai mixed vegetables and sticky rice. It was barely a 3 star....not a whole lot of flavor, kind of bland. We shared an appetizer which was 5 fried shrimp with some kind of a rice batter and was served over a bed of mixed salad. This was a solid 5 stars. Topped it off with a couple of glasses of iced green tea that was surprisingly good. We used a coupon for buy one entrée and half off of the second, still spent about 25 bucks, cost and quality of the food is why we give this meal only a 3 star rating. read more

I was definitely disappointed with this choice. I thought the food was going to be good. Everything was lacking flavor. They gave good portions but for the price you pay and what you get it's not worth it. I paid $35 for lunch for two and we didn't even eat half of it. It just didn't have the flavor we were expecting. So, I came into this experience with an attitude, due to poor experience years ago. Up to that time, we were Fire Bowl aficionados. I wanted to find something wrong, but honestly, they are back to legit standing. The ambiance is very nice and comfortable, and the staff were very competent. However, they are not overly friendly. The food was very good. We had General Tso's Chicken with Fried Rice, Pork Egg Rolls and Fried Potstickers. I would highly recommend and of these menu items. I like General Tso's Chicken because it has some medium heat/spice. Overall, I would say 3 and 1/2 stars is accurate. It is very good, not great or outstanding. Ordered to pick up at 11am for catering for my team at work (found out this is when they open)- it wasn't ready yet which I wasn't too happy about, but they did make it quickly. Everything was really delicious and the young lady made sure my special orders were correct. Cons: they were out of wings, but she offered anything else. I went with the potstickers. That was fine, but really wanted the wings. The part that was not ok was my order of the two fresh Thai rolls -one of them was busted open and def shouldn't have been given that way. Legit one of the worst meals I've ever had. Tied with a garbage place in fort worth for #1 worst thing I've ever ordered from a restaurant. Couldn't even eat it. Everything reeked of cheap white pepper, too much sugar, my ramen was like, and may well have been, spaghetti. Horrifically bad. This place should close down and maybe run some mini storages. Stopped in for a bite late Friday afternoon. There were very few customers. The restaurant looked very clean and organized. All of the staff were smiling and very helpful. I ordered the veggies with Kung Pao sauce. I chose Kung Pao because it had two spice indicators. However it wasn't very spicy. My one complaint is about the veggie egg roll. It was a greasy dough ball. I'm not sure there were any veggies in it at all. I ordered two but could only eat one because of the grease. My main entree was very good so I will go back. We went to Fire Bowl as the other Asian place we like to go to was closed. We got the Pad Thai and it wasn't very good at all. There was no flavours to the dish and not enough peanuts. Garden rolls were better, and the guy explicitly asked for gratuity before I got a chance to get around to it on the phone. One of favorite Asian fast food places. They have a good reward program and I think prices are reasonable. My only complaint is as a regular customer I often get free coupons, or discounts BUT they don't have any locations in my area. I have to wait till I am visiting Austin area to use them. I don't care about any of the coupons but I was disappointed that on my birthday Fire Bowl sent me a free entree coupon and it expired in 2 days of them sending it. I was in MCALLEN for work and was passing thru Austin to go home and stopped here to eat. I asked the manager to honor it being it was expired only for 1 day and he DID NOT. My husband and I love Fire Bowl! We always get the combo fried rice. It comes with fried rice, veggies, chicken, beef, and shrimp. The portions are so large we always share and are plenty full by the end. My mom visited for the first time and was trying to build her stir fry and the employee was very helpful.
