And right after entering the parking lot, Fire Island Grill was the first establishment from the driveway. Checking them out on Yelp after parking, our choice was made. Nice and clean, an island ambience with Bob Marley and Cat Stevens the favorites playing while we were there. Scanning the wall menu, we both settled on the chicken/steak combo with island rice. She chose fire island teriyaki sauce with sesame seeds, while I went with the pineapple teriyaki and peanuts. It's order and pay at the counter but they clear the table for you when you're done eating, thus, no trash cans in site. However, my one complaint was the lack of trays to transport our sizable bowls and two cups, from the counter to our table. Jackie had gone to use the restroom. It was a bit of a struggle, with no offer of help but I managed. Please invest in some trays Fire Island! But the food was above average, everything looking and tasting fresh and healthy. I needed something to eat while working in the area and this place came out. I was greeted by multiple "Aloha"s from the staff which I found nice. The employee who helped me made several recommendations that I followed. I ordered a luau pork bowl with fried rice and a mixture of the Thai peanut and spicy pineapple sauce. Fire Island is one of my new favorite lunch spots in Simi Valley. It's fast, delicious, well priced food alongside friendly staff. I'm only bummed that I hadn't tried this place sooner. If your a teriyaki protein bowl kinda person then this is the spot for you. No frills. Also some delicious looking sandwiches and salads I've seen but I go with the classic fire island bowls. Hands down my favorite is the island bowl half chicken and half beef. I usually get white/brown rice but I'll say I'm dying to try their fried rice version for my bowl next time. Basically I love this place because it's like teppanyaki on the run. Flavorful proteins, carb, veggies, and sauce. It's simple but I love it. Both the pineapple teriyaki and the "heat" teriyaki sauce are fantastic. Mixing them together makes the perfect sauce for my bowl. Filling and delicious. Price point is ok. Again for a quick lunch close to the office I'd say anything under $15 works for me. Service is also friendly from what I've seen. They are quick and nice. This place was so yummy. Went tethered after our visit to a pumpkin patch last night. The staff was friendly and the place was clean. My daughter, who's a picky eater really enjoyed her kid meal of teriyaki chicken. I had the steak/ chicken with their peanut sauce. It was delicious. I've eaten at the Palmdale branch/location and liked it. Hot food served fast and is inexpensive. Aprox. $20 for two for lunch with a soda. This new place in SCV is super slow - serving cold food - with tiny meat portions - for huge prices. $42+ for lunch. Without drinks. U would need to hire experienced fast food management and workers in place to serve it fast. Keep the food hot and double/triple meat portions and lastly cut the price in half. On the location size, if u over 6' and and 200lbs u aren't going to fit into the two tiny booths. And there is only room for another 7 others to sit at tiny tables. read more

I stopped by here for lunch during a break in my softball tournament. I was looking for something semi healthy in the area and this place sounded exactly like what I wanted. Customer service was amazing, the girl who helped me was very friendly and helpful with explaining how it works. I do really enjoy that they list their calories next to the items so if you are counting calories it was a nice plus. I got a brown rice chicken bowl with the spicy teriyaki sauce and it was soooo good. I wish there was one near my town but I will definitely come back if I have another tournament in the area. The good news: the teriyaki chicken, steak, and sauce are good. Big portions, tasty menu selections, and fast moving service line even with hesitant and unsure or picky diners in front of the line. The could be better news: the pork isn't as smoky tasting as kalua pork, the macaroni salad is tasty but not the authentic Mac salad you can get anywhere in Hawaii. Since I had been eating salads everyday, I decided to get a bowl with half brown rice, veggies and shrimp with a side of the spicy sauce. The dish was delicious and I was pretty surprised at how delicious and big the shrimp was. My only complaint is the amount of shrimp given, but it was still tasty and I would definitely order it again! The sauce didn't taste spicy so I opted out of using in my bowl. My hubs got the pork with two servings of veggies, no rice. The pork was a tad dry but the sauce he got made it slightly moist. Overall, we had a pretty good experience.
