We were SO excited to dine at FIRE. I was visiting from Hawaii, and heard this was a cool restaurant . We had reservations at 7pm for 4 ppl on Friday evening. It wasn't packed, plenty of tables still available. However, our drinks took almost 30 minutes to arrive...or not...it was the Bartender who came over to tell us that he was out of Prosecco for our cocktails that our server recommended. So we ordered wine instead. As we finished our drinks....we waited another 30 minutes...finally our Caesar salad & bread arrived! The bread wasn't warmed, and it was totally dry inside, like it had been left out all day;( we were getting hangry... another 30 minutes go by and our server came by with BAD NEWS...she said the kitchen ran out of Skirt Steak!! So two of us had to order something else, we had planned on sharing the steak, so we decided on sharing the 1/2 Roasted Chicken. They took another 45 min or so to cook it while our other friends' soup arrived...lukewarm and their Burger and Pasta arrived lukewarm as well... The 1/2 chicken ($32.00) finally arrived already split on 2 small share plates. I was shocked to see such a small chicken leg! The drumstick was literally the size of a wing! Flavor was good, I have to say, but the cooked baby carrots were still raw inside and crunchy. UGH..such a disappointing experience.!The server was no where to be seen, we figured she went on break or went home! But the Manager did come out after we finished (9:45pm) and said she felt bad that the bar ran out of Prosecco and the kitchen ran out of food and lost our order slip! She did comp us 50%. The highlight of our visit here was the crab cake appetizer for Restaurant Week and the lady who I assume was the manager who kept checking on us/picking up the slack from our server. Other than that.. it was miss... I have to admit that I was super disappointed with our first visit here. Although the outside patio was great and the interior art was really cool to look at, the rest was less satisfactory.. our server wasn't friendly (and I'm a big fan of customer service). It took him 15 mins to say hi to us we sat down and another 15 to bring drinks over. My problem with that is that he only had another 2 top other than us so I'm not sure what kept him so busy. Luckily we had the lady manager (I'm assuming) who came over more frequently throughout our meal to bring the next course/check in on us. The crab cake was good but the rest was very average. I would not pay $35/meal.. maybe $20... All in all.. There's better places around the area that I would recommend more. read more

This indoor and outdoor bar and restaurant on the 4th floor of the Art Hotel exudes quite the ambiance. The Fire is hip and trendy with picturesque views of the city and mountains. Whether it's day or night the view is amazing. The Fire consists of a Lounge, Terrace, and the Restaurant. They are open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and happy hour. The outdoor Terrace is quite inviting with high top tables, umbrellas, comfortable outdoor patio furniture, and even a fireplace. It looks quite romantic at night with the illumination of the city lights. The Restaurant and Lounge are also equally inviting with its sleek architecture and design. We had breakfast in the restaurant during a recent stay at the Hotel. Yes, service was slow as others mentioned. But, we were on vacation and didn't let that get to us. We ordered the "loaded" french toast and the Denver breakfast sandwich. The french toast quite the indulgent treat for breakfast. Yummy! The ambiance at this place is wonderful. Who doesn't want amazing views and beautiful art while they eat? We just came for some happy hour eats. I got the daily wine so I got a glass of rosé for only $6. Also we tried the BLTA (bacon lettuce tomato and avocado) which instead of just regular bacon it was actually tender belly which was delicious. The only reason I continue to come back is for the ambiance and cocktails. When Fire first opened, the service was excellent. That's changed dramatically in the past year. The food is still mediocre and unfortunately, that hasn't changed since day one. Last night, I ordered truffle fries as a snack with cocktails. We always go here to celebrate our anniversary. 2nd floor deck, open space with many operable doors opened to open deck, with large exotic fire pit and amazing ambiance is how we like to start our anniversary celebration. This place can really make an awesome early to late evening get together with friends. Food is good, small portions but well prepared. Small menu and good quality cocktails which sometimes they can't execute it well. One of the rare places that has Negroni on their happy hour menu for $5. Outdoor deck can't be reserved but the indoor area is open for reservation and you can book a table on Opentable. Unfortunately despite my phone calls, they lost my reservation but they made it right somehow. Service is not that great and I assume due to Covid they are very short staffed. Meaning, we really had to wait long time for 2nd and 3rd round of drinks. Out of every food they have, Fries, Colorado Lamb, and Ahi Tuna are things you should try. Usually I don't like hotel restaurants but Fire Lounge and Art Hotel changed this mentality for me. I strongly recommend this place for those that like to have a relaxing urban lounge experience. read more

Best in the West The Art Hotel is Denver's newest addition of luxury hotels. It's different than your generic Four Seasons Hotel style and all the art pieces made my entire experience at this hotel absolutely astonishing. Valet was around $38 or there's parking lots nearby for around $10. Once you take the elevator to the 4th floor lobby you will be greeted by a flower girl art piece. Aaron one of the managers made our check-in comfortable and told us how excited everyone is about their brand new hotel. My suite balcony room had a memorable view of broadway st. Art Hotel is located right next to the Art Museum and Colorado State Capital building which makes it convenient for first time visitors to sightsee during the day. They also have a complimentary Lincoln Navigator for shuttle to nearby restaurants. Overall, everyone greeted us by name and we felt as if we were the only guests in the hotel. The cabana fire pits at Fire Restaurant Lounge were a nice touch. I especially enjoyed the Bison Benedict and the morning room service pancakes came with the best maple syrup I've EVER had. I can keep writing about how much this hotel rocks and I can't wait to come back! read more

Title: The Good, Bad, and the Soupy My recent experience at Fire Restaurant was a mixed bag. I do appreciate our seating placement in a quieter side room as the main bar space was too loud for an intimate meal. Starting off, the Gouda cheese spread served for the appetizer was outstanding, boasting a rich and creamy texture. However, the bread was disappointingly stale, lacking the freshness that would have complemented the exquisite cheese. It's a shame that such a flavorful spread was let down by a seemingly overlooked detail. The main entrée; Marry Me Chicken, had a flavorful sauce, however the ravioli (that existed as the sole portion of the entrée, there wasn't even any chicken breast on the plate) was undercooked and tough, as if it had been cooked part-way and then left on the counter to cool for too long before being brought to the table. Finishing the evening off, the strawberry tart dessert was the most disappointing of all with a soupy, room temperature, strawberry "flambé" filling the graham pie crust with melted chocolate ice cream flooding over the top and into the bowl below. I expected better execution of the meal coming from this caliber of restaurant and the corresponding price. I hope that they address these issues to return to the level of quality that their patrons expect and deserve. read more

Located on the fourth floor of the Art Hotel, the restaurant overlooks Broadway through exterior glass walls. The atmosphere is modern and elegant, decorated with interesting art. We went for brunch before an exhibit at the Denver Art Museum next door since Palette (the DAM restaurant) is closed for renovation. Prices are definitely on the higher end, and while the food was fine, it was pretty average. Even though the place was not very busy it was difficult to get our waiter's attention. I would go back mostly for the edgy atmosphere (they also have a cool terrace with a fire pit), knowing that I'll have to pay a little extra to enjoy a meal in such a great space. read more

After a long night at an event, we retreated to our hotel (the ART, which Fire is in), totally exhausted, and decided to get a late night bite here, as not much else is open in the area after 10pm. To be honest, with so many cool, affordable dining options in Denver, I was surprised how expensive the prices were. We ate at a lot of great restaurants during our time in Denver, but the late night dinner we had here ended up being one of our most expensive meals. Don't get me wrong, the food was fine, but that was it. It was just fine. We don't mind dishing out the dough for a great meal, but it felt steep here. I had the short rib, which is a go-to dish for me at most restaurants. It had a beautiful presentation but wasn't particularly memorable or flavorful. We didn't see our server much. I think their priority was with more of the drinking crowd, but to be honest, we were fine being left alone because we were so tired. I never post reviews but feel this is warranted. We spent Christmas Eve at this restaurant and were very disappointed with the food and service. They had a special holiday menu with very few options. The drink order took 45 minutes from ordering and we saw very few people dining as we started our dinner at 6:15. We ordered prime rib which looked like a flat piece of flank steak. I asked the server if this was prime rib and she thought it might be the short rib since it was the only other meat option but took it to her manager. She came back with it to see if he wanted it since it was actually "prime rib". Needless to say they tried another time, but it only resembled it slightly. There were two choices of dessert, which was ordered at the beginning of the meal, but were no longer available after over 3 hours of very slow service. read more

I'm not a fan of downtown areas because of the parking, luckily they have complimentary valet. The hotel itself is aesthetically pleasing as is the view from the restaurant. This one star is dedicated to the turkey gravy, which is by far one of the only tasty thing out of the entire thanksgiving buffet. We came here for the thanksgiving buffet, and was initially excited to try the raw oysters that was also advertised on the menu. Turns out the oysters were long gone, and our server had neglected to inform us of this/didn't know. The buffet spread was also shockingly pitiful, and it was clear that several items had been out for a long time while no attempt was made by the wait staff to refill them. The public utensils used at the buffet tables were also dirty, and there was spilt gravy (the gravy was pretty delicious actually) and dropped food all over the buffet table. The salad bar/cold bar was tucked away at this obscure corner of the room, and the salad looked like it had been sitting out for an extremely long time. We were led to sit in a sectioned part of the room that was designed like a 90's dorm room. Foldable black plastic lawn chairs and a drab dark turquoise carpet completed the look. When we were seated, someone's used napkin was on my seat. The tables next to us were not cleaned for the entire duration we were there, as seen in the photos. The $55 for the buffet is absolutely not worth it, given the food quality and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant. If we knew what we were going to get, we would have chosen the ala-carte menu or left. We didn't have any expectations coming into this meal, but we certainly left disappointed and hungry. read more

Four of us had lunch here recently after visiting the DAM. After sitting at our table for more than 10 minutes, we threw ourselves at the mercy of a wait staff person walking by and she took pity on us and took over service at our table. She was fine, although the person who was supposed to serve us was asleep at the wheel. Two of our party had the ahi tuna and both were pleased. I had the Caesar salad and found it just ok. The dressing was good, extra anchovies appreciated, but the lettuce was old, wilted, and pocked. How hard is it to get fresh romaine? The final order at our table was the chop salad, and I noticed the plate was licked clean, so I think it was enjoyed. The view is stunning, the scene is cool. A little more attention to service and fresh lettuce would easily get me to a 4 star rating. read more

Great location, very classy-modern vibes, and a great view. This is a great place to get drinks before dinner, especially during their happy hour which lasts between 3 and 6pm everyday. You can sit on the terrace or inside the lounge. The cocktails and wines are great, most of their wines are included in their happy hour menu. I had the Red while sitting on the terrace overlooking parts of downtown and Broadway st - it was awesome. I'd definitely recommend getting dressed up, and bringing a date here to get drinks and checkout the art! One of the best looking bars in town. The patio is beautiful and comfortable. Great for impressing out-of-town guests. The food is good. I planned a cocktail party for a group and got raves on the food, especially lamb chops and mini croque monsieur. I've enjoyed light bites with friends too. Drinks are good. I don't always love their custom cocktails, but the bartenders I've met make a good Manhattan. They have DJs on some nights, and every time they've been really good. They actually spin--not just set up a playlist and press play. Plus, you can impress friends by taking them for drinks where they can see an Ed Ruscha or Clyfford Still art work. Parking tip: valet is pricey, but if you walk just out the doors and to the side of the building, you'll see the Cultural Center Garage where you can park for just a few dollars (seriously--$1-3 dollars at night, I believe). read more

The kicker was when I received another party's bill--the cheesecake was the item that caught my eye. None of the three of us in my party ordered dessert. A closer look revealed that the entire bill was from another table. No problem. I told our waitress, this isn't our bill. She brought our correct bill. I paid it with a tip. A day or two later, I found on my credit card statement a charge for MY bill and the one from the other table with the cheesecake! How'd I get charged for that when I didn't sign for it? I called Fire 5 times and this charge has yet to get removed from my credit card. And it was over $100! Now I'm taking it up with my credit card company to deal with. Can you imagine the amount of time and energy it takes to have an issue like this addressed when all they had to do was remove the charge. I'll NEVER go back there again and will broadcast my experience widely to dissuade others from supporting this business. read more

I love the ambiance but the menu is terrible. Only 5 entrees served at lunch and one of them, which I wanted, wasn't availalbe since they ran out of bacon. Who runs out of bacon?? I ordered a Cobb salad which was mostly a plate of lettuce for $17. won't bne returning for lunch. Maybe dinner is better but check the menu before you go. My husband and I stayed at the Art hotel for a long weekend in Denver, and Fire is the in-house restaurant. I'm typically not a fan of hotel restaurants, but we had a dining credit, so it cost us literally nothing to try them out. First - the ambiance. They have a nice little outdoor area with an open - you guessed it - fire pit. It was snowing the day we got there, so that wasn't an option, but they had the fire going and it was pretty to look at from the hotel lobby. Inside of the restaurant is bright and spacious with windows all around, so you have a decent view of the city. The hostess and our server were both pretty pleasant. Second - the food and drinks. We ordered off of the lunch menu, but I can't for the life of me remember my drink. I just know it was really, really good. There weren't many vegan options on the menu, but the one I did try, the Quinoa Bowl (minus the fried egg), turned out to be really good. It was seasoned just right, with the right amount of salt. My husband had the snapper, and he is a snapper connoisseur. He said it was pretty tasty. The atmosphere overall is pretty chill. We went back for brunch two days in a row, and the service and the food were comparable to our first visit. I would definitely recommend them! read more

This is a really cool building with nice views from the large floor to ceiling windows and great modern decor. But I think they have given up. Our table looked worn and pitted, didn't find a hair but a clump of hair on the table, floors had food crumbs all over, so did the window sills, chair upholstery was frayed. Water came out in a bottle and tasted bad, maybe that's how Denver tap water tastes. I looked at the online menu and asked about an item from that, she said Oh, that's probably on our lunch menu, it was a Saturday around 11:30. I could swear I heard her offer the lunch menu to a table 5 minutes later but could be wrong. I don't mind paying $18 for an OK burger but when you pay that much, you are also paying for the atmosphere and experience which I don't feel like I got from this. read more

I mostly ate appetizers and desserts, since it was usually later when I got in, and the fries were very good with a lot of flavor. I had a chocolate dessert (can't recall the name) and I could have eaten that every night. They served food until fairly late, but we tried not to come too close to closing, since the first night the staff was visibly irritated and not super friendly when we stopped by near closing time before heading back to our rooms. read more
