Burgers here are insanely ginormous. Definitely worth the visit if you're a fan of craft burgers. They also had the choice of an extra cheese shot and smoke gun when dining in. Had no idea what to expect, but it's literally just extra cheese injected into the burger through a giant needle and smoking the burger in a glass case. I ordered the smokey burger and it was pretty good. Only downside is that the burger is so big that I couldn't finish it. It was also super messy to eat since the extra cheese shot was spilling everywhere. Thankfully they had plastic gloves to use on the tables so I didn't get my hands dirty. This is an interesting review for me. I was looking specifically for a good smash burger I went though some that were not open until later in the day. I found this because of the reviews and it looked comfortable. I got there and two tables were enjoying their food. That a good sign. I'm waiting at the counter... nothing. So I start punching in my order on the kiosk. And the guy comes out of nowhere. I'll take your order. OK. Put my order in. And he's the only guy doing everything. Kitchen, busses, taking orders. Craziest thing I've seen in sometime. The other two tables finish up. He's making my food. It comes out in about 20 minutes. And then another 25 minutes later our shakes come out. I'm not sure if he had to go the farm for the ice cream. And we cut the chicken sandwich in half. And half was chicken free. But he made another piece. The food was all very good on the positive. I ordered a steak and cheese sub for the 2 hour ride home. I forgot to say skip the mayo. He said he would put new bread on it. And he finally got some helpers, after about an hour during what would normally be considered the lunch rush. They come in at about 1:30. And they must have stopped hime from putting new bread on my Philly Cheese steak. Because it still had the mayo. My rating on the + side is only for the guy you left by himself. I was underwhelmed with the taste & service. The electricity was not working when we walked in and it was sooo hot. The cashier was so slow taking our order & they still got it wrong. The drinks came after our food and only because we asked for it. We ordered cheese to be injected and the worker didn't even know how to do it and it stopped working while she was doing it and she never came back to finish injecting the cheese. I don't know if she was a new employee but she seemed like she didn't like her job and really slow. My friend came once before me and she said the service was better and food was tastier. I was bummed because Ive been wanting to try this place for over a year and to be met with shitty service and mediocre food I was disappointed. Okay so we came here around 1pm today, Sunday. The parking lot is pretty small and compact car parking. Off the bat we were met with an older gentleman doing one to all. They have a deal in which if you order two meals, you get a kids meal free. My daughter got the chicken nuggets meal. The man was nice enough to bring out an order of the fried zucchini complimentary. These really hit the spot as we were hungry. The two sauces, one white and the other yellow, really complimented the freshly fried zucchini. The food was great taste and size wise. My firefly burger was juicy. I had asked for pickles on the side but he forgot those. My husband asked for his smokey burger to be infused with their cheese injection 3 times with no luck. At one point, he was like my burger is getting cold so chose not to wait any longer. Again, the man behind the counter had no other help so really couldn't come out but we were really hoping for that experience. While there, one customer came back saying his order was missing items. Another couple walked in to pickup their order but it wasn't ready and what they ordered was less/different than what was being prepared. I think the quality of the food was great. So last night, I just happen to be on this side of town and said you know what let me try and give this place a second try. First off let me say the parking here is very very big challenge. After dealing with somebody trying to be mad over a parking space I finally got a space and walked in. Walked in about 7ish pm & noticed nobody working the counter. Waited a few minutes and still nobody. So as I waited, I looked around and toward the left-hand side on a table. There was a big can of blue, black & white can of Raid Ant & Roach Spray on the table. That was my first warning sign to myself. Then after noticing the mess kinda on the table as well I just happen to look down and once looking down underneath the mats, you could see the floor, and it looked like it had been scrubbed in a while. After taking those two considerations into mind I decide to walk out without replacing an order finally as I was walking out somebody finally came around the corner and asked me if I wanted to order food. The second bite was big pieces of onion and upon opening it there are several big pieces in there which I wasn't thrilled about. Not sliced or diced, just big pieces. The fries that came with the burger were good but the portion size was very small. Overall, place was clean though the scent of whatever deodorizer they use was a bit overwhelming. Found this place on Yelp and wanted to try. I stopped in about 8:30pm on a Tuesday evening and arrived to an empty restaurant. This gave me pause at first. Usually, really good restaurants are busy. Perhaps this was just my lucky day. Indeed, it WAS! There is an expansive menu with so many things that looked delicious I had a hard time choosing! The menu is posted outside and the inside is spacious and comfortable with well padded and comfy booths. I'm not sure what theme they are rocking here with the décor, it doesn't matter though, the food and service made up for it. Had the SMOKEY Burger and Fries, and an order of fried zucchini. Their house sauces are AMAZING. Be sure to try the firefly sauce and the kickback sauce with your fries and apps. They offer a hot cheese burger injection which they do at your table. Unique and WOW was it good. The burger was huge. I could not finish on my own and took half home with me. Thick slices of bacon and fresh, Halal beef patties here. No frozen pucks. The fries were plentiful, tasty and thick. The zucchini was just right and really hit with the sauces. I did not care for the taste of the soda but the food was a 10/10 and so was the service. I was looking for a place for lunch to treat my friend for his bday and had come across Firefly Burger before. So we decided on that. I really wanted to like it especially with the 4.3 star rating but my experience was ok. It's located on the corner of Chapman and Euclid, also connected to a Starbucks. The lot is very small and compact so parking could be hard, not to mention the spots are small. I managed to find a spot to pick up. So, I had placed an order online for pick up at 11:15am, the earliest available and they opened at 11am. Putting the order in was no problem. My other coworker placed his order, and the order numbers were exactly #1 and #2, which I assumed were the first two orders of the day. I arrive at 11:15am enter and it's empty which of course they had just opened. There were 2 gentlemen who I thought were employees but it turned out they were from a plumbing company still no worker at the counter. An older gentleman appears after a couple of minutes and I let him know I'm picking up an online order, to which he gives me a confused look making me wonder if my order went through. I show him the order number from my email confirmation and he eventually asks me what was in the order. I didn't mind the fact that I had to tell him what the order was it was more that it felt like he had no idea about any online orders. I guess after checking he confirmed, BUT the food wasn't even ready, he began cooking after confirming the order. Why make 11:15am an option to pick up? I ended up waiting 30 MINUTES to pick up food that was supposed to be ready at 11:15am. Also why is there no one manning the counter? A door dasher came in shortly waiting around like I did calling "door dash". I told him he was back there starting to cook my order and that they weren't ready. He eventually came out to ask if I wanted onions and the door dasher tried to ask about his order and the worker, quite rudely said, "In a second, go sit down", which kinda shocked me. So after the extensive wait I finally got my order and took it back to work. I got the double smash burger meal (this isn't on their website menu by the way but is an option when you order online). It came with the burger, fries and a soda. My friend got the firefly and onion rings. And my other coworker got the original beef. I can't speak for my friend and coworkers burgers but they rated it a 3.5 out of 5. My burger while sizeable didn't really feel like a smash burger the patties were thick and not with any of the crispy char a smash burger would have. It was decent though and the sauce on it was good. The fries were kinda soggy, though that could be attributed to steaming in the to go bag and not eating them fresh. Overall I was pretty disappointed for a place with such great reviews. Maybe it was a fluke for trying to order so close to open, but if it's an option food should be ready around that time. I wouldn't have minded waiting 5 -10 minutes extra but a whole half hour which was basically my entire lunch break is ridiculous. The food was decent enough nothing amazing. Will re review again when I get the chance. read more
