    #2 Double Smash

Spent a bit of a back and forth trying to find my next hunt for a smash burger in the OC and more than happy to have landed on Hammys! I have been trying out a few different spots and haven't found one I'd go back to, until now. Literally 0 complaints other than their soap being empty and filled with water instead. Very unsanitary and disgusting might I say. Which is why it's a 3 star for me. Please please fix your soap dispenser. Place is very clean both inside and their outside patio seating area. They have an employee who is constantly tidying up which I very much appreciate. You can either order with a person or self service at a kiosk. They will bring out your food once it's ready! We ordered 2 double smashed burgers, an order of fries to share and a drink. They don't have Sprite or 7UP, they have Starry fyi (which I still love). The burgers themselves were very tasty bursting with flavor, the added grilled onions give it an even better boost! Patty's were juicy and not too salty or greasy which I feel is a common factor at so many smashed burgers joints. Fries are chef kiss, crispy golden on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. I couldn't get enough of the fries which pair beautifully with their ranch.

Great smash burgers. The burgers were perfectly smashed with deliciously crisp edges. The burgers were juicy and flavorful. Everything was served piping hot. The inside of the establishment was nice and clean. The employees were friendly and helpful with menu choices. Couldn't finish the whole burger, it was still good heated up! We thought parking was going to be difficult due to the location, bit it was super easy. Down the side street and into the parking structure. There is a free parking area for the restaurants.

Tried this new smash burger spot. To parked, you'll have to park in an apartment structure which can be a bit confusing looking for a back entrance to the restaurant or another way besides walking out of the parking garage entrance/exit. The inside of the restaurant is decor similar to an In & Out joint with the same color scheme. We got the BBQ Bacon Burger $12 each. The overall taste of the burger was alright, but could be better. It tastes a bit bland like the meat was seasoned well enough. Could be due to the restaurant being new which is usually the case so they have time to get feedbacks from customers reviews. Will see how it goes.

Hammys is located near the Katella Triangle and is within walking distance of Angel Stadium. Parking is available in the apartment garage, with designated retail parking spaces for customers. The burgers had good flavor, but what turned me away was the lack of meat. I understand it's a smash burger, but I've never had one this thin, it was mostly char with very little actual beef. The fries were also overpriced for the portion size, especially considering how little protein comes with the burger. The restaurant's ventilation was another downside. The indoor seating area filled with smoke and grill fumes, making it uncomfortable to dine inside. There is a small outdoor patio with a few tables, which is a better option if the weather is nice. I'm glad we gave Hammys a try, but it's not a burger spot I'd recommend or return to.

Tried Hammys for the time on a whim on a Saturday night. Came in to order and the guy at the counter should very respectfully probably not be at the counter as a vegetarian/vegan. We asked how he liked the fries and we said he did and then specified he didn't eat them bc they're cooked in beef tallow (which is actually a huge selling point and can entice many people to order) Def need someone up here who actually eats the food they sell. But anyway now to the food: i ordered the jalapeño smash and my bf ordered the double bbq smash (the one with the onion ring in it #8) Both burgers were absolutely phenomenal. Pattys seasoned to absolute perfection, brioche buns, and fresh veggies. Yall, the fries were also SO delish! We ordered cheese fries and the hammy fries - on the hammy fries: it would be great if they drizzled the fries with the sauce first, then put the patty on top, then drizzled more sauce on top. But they were still very delish! Overall, we will def be back and are excited to try more of their options. Thank you Hammys for a delish smash burger.

Onion rings!! Cheese fries, #1, single with the works and #8 bbq bacon with works.

First time hitting up Hammy's Smash Burgers newly opened here in Anaheim next to the Angels stadium. Ordered a single smash and a double bacon smash with bacon, lettuce, grilled onions, and a sauce. Also decided to check out cheese fries and the onion rings. We did decide to sit outside because inside was very warm.. not sure if they had A/C. Outside dining area was a little dirty and kind of congested looked like they were storing things here. Waited for food about 5 mins but I don't think they bring outside so we went inside and they had ready. First of the burgers looked really good but was missing some flavor. There were barely any grilled onions on the burger and the sauce wasn't as flavorful as I would've wished. It tasted like a ketchup mayonnaise. Bun needed some help as it was pretty soggy and didn't hold up well about half way thru I needed a fork. Taste overall was decent missing flavor impact profile to give it that wow factor. Cheese fries were battered and cheese was good. Onion rings were typical large onion rings which there was only 7 so they were $1 a ring... price was was more expensive that your typical hamburger fries and onions rings and did not live you to the hype. Was really wanting this place to blow my socks off just missed the mark on flavor. Overall it's a 3 could've been a 2.5.

Great little place to get great fast food. Service excellent the smash burger selection has just the right amount of variety. My hubby got the bbg burger and I got cheese with grilled onions both single burgers which are perfect size meal and split onion rings that were crisp and made fresh ... I would recommend this place if in the area.

First visit and we were happy we drove out to try this!! Burgers had a good sear on them and their sauce is real tasty!! Staff were really nice. Looking for a good smash burger? This is a great option!!

I've now been to Hammy's twice. And both times I've had the exact same thought. "...it's really not that bad." Actually... It's good. Which is exactly why I'm concerned. This location, right by Angel Stadium, has the business survival rate of a disposable paper straw. Over the years it's been one restaurant after another. Different names. Different menus. Different dreams. Same outcome. By now I'm convinced this corner has its own restaurant ghost story. So when founder Hamzah "Hammy" Ahmed decided to open Hammy's here... I honestly had to admire the optimism. Seriously. Hats off to the guy. --applause-- Opening a restaurant is hard enough. Opening one in this location? That's the culinary equivalent of buying the house everyone says is haunted and announcing, "Nah... we'll be fine." That's bold. I've been in twice now. Both visits were... ...quiet. Like... "I can hear the fryer reflecting on its life choices." Quiet. But every time I looked around, I found myself thinking... "...it's really not that bad." Because it isn't. The Double Jalapeño Smash? C'mon, folks. It's solid. Thin smashed patties with crispy edges. Melted cheese everywhere. Jalapeños doing exactly what jalapeños were put on this Earth to do. And a burger that tasted like somebody in the kitchen actually cared. (Maybe they don't. But it sure tastes like they do.) Then there were the onion rings. Golden. Crunchy. The kind of crunch that should register on the Richter scale. The kind that makes you wonder why fries have been hogging the spotlight all these years. Meanwhile... I'm sitting there eating genuinely good food... ...while staring at an almost empty dining room. And once again I caught myself thinking... "...it's really not that bad." Folks... I don't think Hammy's has a food problem. I think Hammy's inherited a location that's been collecting failed restaurant spirits like Pokémon. At this point I expect former restaurant owners to appear as holograms wearing aprons. One of them quietly places a hand on my shoulder and whispers, "Leave while you still can..." But Hammy's deserves a fighting chance. So here's my completely reasonable proposal. Go eat there. Bring your family. Bring your coworkers. Bring your baseball buddies before the game. Bring that one friend who always says, "I already ate." They're lying. Order the Double Jalapeño Smash. Order the onion rings. Order enough food that the cashier starts wondering whether you're catering a wedding. Because every restaurant deserves a chance... Especially one that's actually pretty good. Besides... I refuse to drive by this corner six months from now and see another giant COMING SOON banner announcing something like: 'Artisanal Yak Milk Smoothie Collective' (my personal favorite) 'Scandinavian-Korean Fusion Vegan Tapas' [soccer-hockey-baseball theme] and the ever-so-popular 'Deconstructed Cereal Experience with a Farm-to-Table Oxygen Bar' We've been through enough. Hammy's isn't trying to reinvent burgers. They're just making good ones. Sometimes... that's exactly what a neighborhood needs. So go grab a burger. Get the onion rings. Bring a few friends. Let's finally prove this location isn't built on an ancient restaurant burial ground. Because if Hammy's can't make it here... I'm starting to think the only business that can survive on this corner is Spirit Halloween. --The End Ha! Vamos, Hamzah!!!

    My meal...

Unimpressed... I was greeted by an employee when I walked in the door but ended up ordering from the kiosk since no one came up to the counter. There were only 2 tables being used, but most of the empty tables were dirty, the trash cans were overflowing and the floor needed to be swept. The restaurant started filling up because it was game day for the Angels, so patrons were clearing tables themselves. My food arrived and I was shocked at how thin/small the hamburger pattie was for the price of the burger. Also, the portions for the fries seemed to vary greatly from one order to the next. I used the restroom to wash my hands before leaving and it was disgusting. As the saying goes, you only get one chance to make a first impression. Unfortunately, I was not impressed on my visit and don't see myself giving this place another chance.

New place located at the Stadium House complex, retail parking available. Staff is friendly, food is good, especially the fries. Definitely worth the try!

We ended up getting the Bulgogi burger, a bacon cheeseburger, some onion rings, and a carne asada fry. Ok. The food doesn't photograph well for your instagram, but it's delicious. Lemme tell ya - after an early morning of flying, we inhaled this food. Would absolutely come back.
