Thank you to John Z for our "adventure" today and a lovely lunch. John had read about this place in the coconut creek magazine and we were game to try it with him. It's not located in the most accessible strip center, but it's not that hard to find. We got there a bit before noon hoping to beat the lunch "rush" and although it got a bit busier later, I don't think it's really been discovered yet. You can order a sandwich or a plate or for lunch their buffet. After looking at the options, I decided on the buffet in order to try more items. Prices are quite reasonable. Drinks are additional. You pay after you eat. The side buffet had everything from hard boiled eggs to pasta. I tried some of the salad fixings, plantains, white rice, French fries, penne pasta, and black beans. I liked the plantains and the rice the best. Also by the side bar are the plates (both plastic and to go ones), silverware (metal and plastic), napkins, hot sauce, ketchup, bbq sauce, etc. You go up to the meat counter and they give you whatever types of meat you like. I tried two types of steak and two types of ribs. I didn't try their chicken or sausage. They slice the meat off of cooking skewers. You use tongs to put it on your plate. I loved their tender skirt steak and really liked their sirloin/pincanha. The sirloin was a bit rare to my taste, so they cooked it on the grill for me for a bit more time. We asked and found out that the only desert they had today (which I assume is also extra but not sure) was cheesecake. There are a few others listed on the illuminated menu This place is definitely for the meat lovers out there. And for the price, once the locals discover this place, they should do quite well. They're still relatively new and it's a no frills atmosphere. So, don't come for the ambiance, come for the steak!

Very disappointing amount of meat when we just orders for delivery. Used to order often for pickup and portion is normally double of what was received today.

BOGO Sushi on Thursday live music very good ambience! Prices are very reasonable!

Very good ambience. Ricardo was very good at answering the phone and giving us details and making our reservation. Very polite! Our waitress Raiane, was super attentive and was very nice with a smile served us very well. And when I mentioned the sushi was with the shell she right away made another one without question even though I was not expecting it. The music is also very good! Natasha is the singer of the night and her vocals are amazing! Want to know when country music is playing because I'll definitely be back. Their food is perfect! Like I mentioned, the sushi is on sweet side. I ordered Dragon roll and we came on BOGO night, they brought both Toklas at once which I didn't expect but it was double the pleasure, I'm a foodie so it was very good. But be ware if your in to Japanese style sushi, it will not be the same! It's a culture good made Brazilian style. So unless you had sushi in Brazil do not complain! No rice vinegar on their rice based on my taste buds, and lots of mayo on everything. Marinated in mayo the salmon. I really like it because I lived in Brazil for a year and know what to expect, but if you are looking for Japanese style, order something else. I came for Brazilian sushi, my husband ordered the picanha and mandioca on Chapa, which came sizzling hot, and tasted amazing with onions grilled on top! Omg delish!!! we also got a beer bucket, and listened to great music. They dimmed the lights making the ambience very lounge style at 10:30 pm which was a BONUS because we wanted a date night but our son was with us, and we got both! Over all this will be our place from now on. I just need to find out when they will play sertanejo, as the waitress said they don't have a specific night for it. Can't wait to be back! PS BOGO is only for sushi menu.

I ONLY REVIEW NACHOS…read more My sister went to Buffalo Wild Wings and said the nachos were terrible. Since she has a similar palate to mine I was worried. But Florida Nacho Man needs to stay ever vigilant. I came to confirm or refute. She was right. I confirmed it. That's journalism. The plate arrived looking genuinely promising -- chips spread flat, chili distributed, fresh jalapeños, dual cheese situation with Hatch queso and cheddar-jack. Guac and salsa served on the side in separate ramekins, which is actually a smart call. First impression: better than expected. Then physics intervened. The metal tray conducts heat away from the food faster than you can eat it. By the halfway point everything was cold. This dish should come with a warning. Winter is coming. The chips fused together into nacho tiles from the cheese. Pulling one chip meant pulling five, all welded together, shedding cheese to whichever chip stayed behind. Every bite was a negotiation. The Hatch queso and cheddar-jack sounded promising. The flavor was bland and forgettable. The jalapeños were large, fresh cut, and had absolutely zero heat. The crema joins the Hall of Shame -- listed on the menu, invisible on the plate. On the way out I told the manager to ditch the metal tray. He agreed. We'll see. 5/10 on the Florida Nacho Man scale. 3/5 stars on Yelp.

A restaurant that serves seafood and wings?…read more I'll admit it... I walked in a little skeptical. It felt like one of those menus that couldn't decide what it wanted to be when it grew up. So I did what any reasonable person would do. I ordered both. Before I even get to the food, I have to give a shout-out to the two young men working behind the counter. They were incredibly friendly, genuinely helpful, and steered me toward a combination that turned out to be a great choice. Good service doesn't always happen at casual restaurants, but these guys made a terrific first impression. Now, about that fryer... Whoever was running it knew exactly what they were doing. The batter on the fish was light, crispy, and delicate without burying the fish underneath. The fish itself was cooked perfectly. The wings were also very good, the fries were crisp, and the whole meal delivered exactly what comfort food is supposed to deliver. The shrimp? It felt a little like the forgotten middle child. Perfectly fine, but overshadowed by everything else on the plate. My only real criticism is that the food may have been a touch heavy on the salt. Then again, I'd rather reach for my drink than wonder if the kitchen forgot to season the food altogether. Hook's Catch isn't trying to be fine dining, and that's exactly why it works. It's the kind of place you go when you're craving something hot, crispy, and satisfying. And I have to admit, there's something oddly satisfying about a restaurant that refuses to make you choose between land and sea. Go with the fish. Go with the wings. Or do what I did and have them both.

I asked to change fries for corn nuggets which are hush puppies she said upcharge of 1.99 no problem I chose that. The wait was about 20 minutes like she said . I saw her sprinkling in each order she said a seasoning and she was asking if I wanted it just a little bit. I ate outside 2 seatings only . The tilipia was delicious the shrimp were crispy and tasty seasoned perfectly. The hush puppies also good crispy in outside and moist inside.a container of coleslaw bake with it which was good I do like the cabbage chopped more. There was sliced bread in the order but I skipped that. This pick 2 was only 7. 99 with the upcharge a great deal for this meal and the portion that came with it. The only thing I saw was the handle on the front door to go in was very dirty and black .

Food looked good prepared but not as good as it looked. Many traditional Vietnamese and Chinese dishes served, but not close to authentically tasting. I chose the garlic Parmesan and the king Hawaiian a new flavor I have not seen. As I waited I got my drink my noticed tables not cleaned and the drink machine needed to be cleaned. I did see an employee and pointed it out and he wiped the machine clean from customers who just make a mess. They have a whole system of names listed for those who are waiting to see how long and phone orders who are picking up. The wait was not that bad for how busy they are. I took my order home and as I ate a wing it was spicy and was puzzled . When I looked closer it was not Hawaiian sweet. I called the store and they said it was the spicy hot honey oh no. I do not eat anything like that. The employee said to come back and they will make a new one . It was already 930 pm and I was watching a movie wanting to eat wings and relax I was not going to go back and get another order. She stated I can come later they are open until midnight but this was not happening I have been working all day and not leaving. I asked for a manager who said the same thing to come back which I was not wanting to do. As we discussed customer service I said I would just need to come back on a future date with my receipt . Apparently , the employee heard me wrong and put it on my order but the Manager , Melle agreed he would just put my name in the system and I can return with my receipt another time. Hopefully,it will turn out okay when I return wanting wings again . I believe other customers probably took advantage and this is why they kept telling me to come back the same night. The garlic Parmesan wings were really good perfectly seasoned and crispy, the others well, they got tossed since I cannot eat the spicy hot . They are located in a plaza corner of Wiles and Lyons road so there is plenty parking. They are open 7days a week from 10:30- 12: 00 AM. I am not sure why the sign says Mon to Sun but gather it could be they are following other countries who actually have Monday as the first day of the week and not Sunday.
