November 25. 8 PM. So I get it. This place closes at 9 PM and the staff wants to serve you as quickly as possible and get you out as quickly as possible. But at minimum, you need to fully cook the food so that it is hot. That was the problem here yesterday. Specifically, the sausages and the crawfish were served in their House Special Collision Sauce along with the corn and snow crab. However, both the sausage and crawfish were cold and it would be charitable to say it was barely cooked. Result: bad meal. Unsatisfactory. We've been fans of this place for many years and this meal did not meet its quality standards. I will chalk it up to a bad day, but I do regret giving them a tip. And if you come here before closing, admonish the staff to COOK the food! read more

We went to the elk grove location and it was greeeat we loved it. Came to this location at 7:40 tonight. Was told it's busy we can put you on the wait list of maybe 45 min. We wait the whole 45 min and walk back in at 8:25 and are told sorry it's too busy we close at 9pm and we have a lot of online orders coming in still. I get the online orders are also important but the customers that have arrived at your establishment to dine in and have waited for a long time just to get brushed away after they've waited. Was passing through Sacramento and found this place on Yelp. It had fours stars so it caught our attention. FOOD was great! We picked spice level 2 and enjoyed the different flavors we chose for all our shrimp bags. Only negative would be that the menu is misleading. It mentions the head off shrimp are deveined. And they did not come out deveined as pictured on this review. The service not so great. We walked in and employee walked by and ignored us. After waiting for a few minutes a server popped up from the back and took us to our table The same server took our order. She got everything right except she rang in one part of our incorrectly. I had asked for one bag with one pound of shrimp and half pound of snow crab legs and a separate bag with a half pound of shrimp with a different flavor. When our food arrived instead of the half pound of shrimp, crab legs were brought out. I informed the male worker that brought it out that it was not what we had ordered and told him it was supposed to be a half pound of shrimp instead. He removed the plate and said it would be right out. I understand mistakes happen. But the frustrating part was that when the replacement plate was brought it was a full pound not half pound. At this point I didn't want to complain anymore since I already felt like we were being that annoying table. So instead we just asked for to go bags since it was too much food. Having restaurant experience I understand wanting the work day to be over but we had arrived over an hour before closing. Seems like the server was in the back more than in the front of the house. I had to get up to ask for refills and crab cutters. Also would like to add we came in on a Monday evening. When we arrived there was only one table aside from us. When we left there were two other tables that arrived after us. Back to the food. If you can handle spice go for the 2 spice level. The garlic noodles were also delicious. read more

We came here twice recently. The service was very good. The girls out front were sweet & friendly. I like the bathroom situation here. It's all male/female, use whichever one is open, floor to ceiling walls, locking door. To wash hands, there is a communal sink at the entrance of the restroom area. The atmosphere is casual. They provide plastic gloves and plastic bibs to protect hands & clothes. Love that! The shrimp can be ordered with or without heads. They also need to be peeled. Because the shrimp need peeling, they don't absorb the flavors of the seasoning. Because it's boiled, the potatoes have no chance to absorb flavor, either. The corn on my visits was terribly overcooked and mushy. Honestly, I like my boil better. I don't boil it--it's cooked in the oven on a sheet with lots of seasoning. I use pre-peeled shrimp, don't overcook the corn, use lots of sausage, and let the potatoes soak up all the goodness. The fried calamari was really good. Not greasy, and nicely seasoned. Definitely order some. The clam chowder is good, too. I didn't notice if they had it available, but they should offer a larger bowl than just a cup for patrons who might prefer to just have a bowl of chowder instead of a boil. A bowl of chowder with garlic bread would be a nice menu addition. This place is good for something you don't normally go out for. read more

Decent food but horrible service. We took our family out for a birthday celebration and it wasn't even packed, we got ignored our whole time there unless we tracked down our waitress. (If we could even find her..) Got our order wrong a few times.. Our check came and it included an automatic tip. Makes sense why we had horrible service, the tip was included regardless. We even had extra items added on to the receipt that we had to request taken off.. We hardly ever go out, overall disappointed and wouldn't return. The shrimp here is SO much bigger than boiling crab but you get less. (See my photo for reference) I got 1 lb of shrimp combo for $18.99 and I thought it was really worth it. You get 1 lb shrimp with corn, potato, sausage, and rice. It didn't look like a lot but we were full after eating that + 1 lb of mussels. The flavor is good too. I always get collision and 2 or 3 spice. Only thing I noticed is that they don't give you a lot of sauce for the seafood but other than that it was fine.
