    No pizza this week 8/1/22

One of my favorite spots in the city for wings! Always hot, fresh and exactly how you order them. Great price for beers and someone will always take over the juke box for Jams. Popular spot for dine in but especially for takeout. In the busier times of the day or night they have designated pickup times so keep that in mind if you're ordering on the late night. Parking can also be tricky if busy. Try my order: 10 wings and curly fries; teriyaki, mostly flats, extra wet... thank me later ;) and don't forget the homemade ranch!

I don't know why I haven't reviewed this "hole in the wall" yet. I've been there a couple of times for lunch pre-coronavirus. The wings and pizza are tasty and very reasonably priced. The interior furnishings have seen better days. They could definitely use a good renovation, but that may be why you pay less so I'm not complaining. They have an outside window that you can walk up to for takeout orders. The service has always been good and friendly. I really do love their wing flavors. The garlic parmesan is the best I've had in the area. The lemon pepper is also great. They ask you if you want it saucy or just the rub. Heck, I like it both ways. The only other comment would be that the wings are smaller in size. They are more crispy than meaty. A lot of people prefer it that way. You get more bang for buck anyway so it doesn't matter to me. The pizza is simple but great. Again, it's very good for the price. I'll be back for more wings and a slice during lunch.

We have been hearing good things about the wings here so we finally decided to try them out! Friday night around 7 and they were already packed tight inside so we did a To Go order. Just a heads up, you have to call into Firehouse to place your order vs. walking right up to their to go window- they will not take the order. After waiting 20 mins for them to answer, we finally were able to order. The prices are extremely reasonable! I was not impressed with the wings only because they were wayyy to crispy and unbreaded. If you like those type of wings, you will love these.

Honestly. Firehouse is the best place in the Tampa Bay Area for wings (and they are aware as well). The wing sauces are all flavorful and the ranch is top tier. If you want a chill and great priced meal, this is the spot. The pool tables and music also create a nice vibe.

The plate is a really nice portion, with two pieces of fish. I've gotten used to seasoned fried fish, so for me it was a little bland on its own. However, the firm flakes of the fish really show how fresh it is, and I loved that. The tartar sauce is creamy with a delightful lemon taste to it. The fries were crispy, hot, and very well seasoned. The highlight, surprisingly, was the coleslaw. The seasoning and the flavor were absolutely delicious. It brings a mellow flavor to the dish -- not tart, just soft and mild, the kind of thing that cuts right through the richness of the fried food and balances the plate. Happy hour starting at 11am on weekdays is a great deal. During my visit, the place wasn't busy, and sitting at the bar just felt very chill and relaxing. The playlist fit the vibe very well, too! I appreciated Evan, the bartender, checking in several times during my lunch. I read through the menu, and based on my experience with the fish and chips, I'm really excited to come back and try many more dishes.

The menus were kind of old and a little soiled so if the food is good here I will never know because I wouldn't touch the menus. Sat at the bar and asked for the name of a beer they had on tap. She gave me a generic answer and it turns out she was right. It was just called Channelside IPA. Still the interaction wasn't very pleasant and in fact was a little awkward. Definitely didn't feel welcome. Also didn't help that I am naturally a smart Alec. All I know is we definitely didn't click. I settled in on a Smithwicks Red Ale. Finished my beer and promptly left. The experience was Meh. The beer was good though.

The veal was incredibly tender, and the gravy was packed with flavor. It was a satisfying entrée that came with two sides. For my sides, I chose the pierogies and spätzle. The pierogies were honestly my favorite part of the meal. They were fluffy, cheesy, and generously filled. So delicious. I could have eaten a whole plate of just those. The spätzle was soft and well prepared, but compared to everything else, I found it a little boring. The restaurant itself is very cute and has a lot of character. I loved browsing the selection of German snacks, candy, and other imported items available for purchase. It added to the overall experience and made the place feel unique. While I'm not that familiar with German food, I thought this was a pretty good restaurant. Overall, I found German cuisine a little more muted than what I'm personally used to, but I still really enjoyed the meal and the experience. I'd be interested in trying more of the menu.

I had such high hopes for this place. :( The selection is very limited and perhaps I missed something (entirely possible), but I did not see a price list for the deli case. We did find a unique assortment of other German products- some we haven't seen in many years. The restaurant portion was quite busy and the customers looked happy. We were flooded with nostalgia and left in hopes of dining in on a less-busy day. I ordered two meats, including the German bologna. During the drive home, my family and I noticed a terrible odor-- the kind where we started pointing fingers at one another. We never suspected that the package from the deli was the source. When we opened it at home, a nauseatingly funky, ammonia-type smell came from the German bologna. While the liverwurst smelled okay, I could not trust it after the bologna and decided against keeping it. Wasted time and money. Dang! The staff is super nice and that was truly a plus. However, I doubt we will be back. My family is very bummed over this.

There are plenty of televisions viewable from any seat. The seating is mostly bar top or high top. The beer list is clearly visible on chalkboards hanging behind the bar. The only negative is that prices are a little high... but it's expected due to the location.
