Things got even stranger when we learned there was no chef in the kitchen. Instead, the general manager was back there trying to cook. It very clearly was not working. We ordered appetizers and waited about 45 minutes for what I believe was a seafood dip. When it finally arrived, it came out as a thin, runny soup. Not a dip. A soup. On top of that, it was so aggressively spicy it was nearly inedible. It honestly felt like no one back there had ever made the dish before. The food, flat out, gets a zero from me. If I could give it a negative score, I would. That said, the front-of-house staff deserves credit. They were polite, professional, and clearly trying to manage an impossible situation created by the kitchen. I felt for them, because they were the ones having to face guests while everything behind the scenes was falling apart. The upstairs is better than the downstairs but I'm glad they have the downstairs for some occasion when they could get busy. As for the Tavern / entertainment element, I've never seen any live music but they have several TVs. Not sure this would be my top choice to watch a game but it would work in a pinch if the other places were too busy or noisy.

Service is consistently great, drinks are solid, and we usually leave happy. Hoping this was just an off evening, because we genuinely like coming here.
