The sandwich was just ok and the service was terrible. Ordered online and gave them almost an hour but when I showed up it was not ready. I waited for about 10 minutes and finally asked and was told they had not even started it yet. They said they would start making it right away but it took another 15 minutes until it was finally ready. And I saw several other people come in and they had the same issue. Tried this for the first time because my sister recommended it saying it was pretty good. I had the Steak and Cheese and it was pretty good. Not the best I've had but it was pretty ok. I do like the honey wheat bread that they offer. The place is definitely new and clean. They have one of those hi-tech coke machines which i think is pretty cool. The owner has seen the negative reviews about how slow they are to get a sandwich made..yet the service is still awful! I ordered a medium sandwich and had to wait over 50 minutes to get it on a Sunday night! Unreal! I'm in total shock it can take that long to get a sandwich. I've always wanted to try their sandwich and finally got to it. To my surprise all their subs are designed to be served hot, although you can get any sandwich cold if you simply ask. So I'm a Jersey Mike's and a Togo's fan so Firehouse has a lot to live up to. I was disappointed to hear the subs are suppose to be hot becuz I'm a bit of a traditionalist, I like me sandwiches cold. But I always put my best foot forward and went with the hot in order to give it a legit try. All I can say is... nothing spectacular. It was good don't get me wrong but definitely nothing special. I got the medium Hook and Ladder (hot) $9 plus tax...... oh. Last thing, I got it to go and it came in a cool little box instead of the standard paper wrap. The sandwiches here are delicious and always very good quality. They do a great job of preparing special orders exactly as you order them too. For instance, I prefer mine cold so I usually get the turkey bacon ranch cold without tomatoes and it's always prepared perfectly. The restaurant is very clean and the food always looks fresh. There's no brown lettuce or stale bread here. My only complaint (and the reason i didn't give it 5 stars) is they make it very hard to pay. I tried to pay with cash for two sandwiches but only had a $50 bill and they wouldn't accept it. I had to go to Jersey Mike's instead, where they were nice enough to break the $50 even though they don't usually do that either. I understand not doing that all the time for large bills but it was only $30 in change. For a busy restaurant that sells $10 sandwiches and is literally located next door to a bank, it shouldn't be that big of a deal. I love coming here and the employees are always friendly. The food is delicious and I love that they have a rack of different hot sauce or bbq to try on your sandwich. The decor inside is pretty cool and it feels like you're eating inside a fire station, my son loves going to get a free firemen hat and loves the Dalmatian tables. Never had an issue until today. Grabted initially i messed up. I paid online with a devit card that has money inside. I realized this after i paid but figure since it went through, i would had a negative balance. I drove out and about 8 minutes later, i recieved a phone call which i didnt pick up as i was literally in front of the resturant. Walk in, and were told my card were declined. No worries, i grab my other debit card out and paid. Was then told because i just paid now, they hadn't make the sandwhiches yet and would need to wait another 10 minutes. Fast forward to returning back to the office, two coworkers ordered the same pub sandwhiches except one of them had ordered additional bacon. This is where it got confusing. All 3 sandwhiches looked different. It wasnt until after calling in that it were determined that the one with the add on bacon had no crispy onions. They pretty much replaced the onion with the bacon instead of adding it on. The other pub sandwhich looked like there were no cheese which made it harder for us to tell if that were the correct sandwhich. Both my co worker and I went for lunch here today. We both ordered the newyork steamer. I got large and he got the medium. We both asked for everything on it. Only the meat and cheese was on our sandwiches. Deil mustard missing, Italian dressing missing on both of our sandwiches. He also asked for his pickles on the side and did not get it. I walked in and no one said anything, everyone just kept on working as if I wasn't even there. My family and I have came here many times. I came in today and ordered 3 sandwiches to go. When I got home, 2 of my 3 sandwiches were made incorrectly. I called and spoke with the owner to let her know how. She was very unprofessional and kept asking her employees how they made it while she was on the phone with me. She argued with me and told me that her employee said that they made it correctly. She kept telling me that they would watch the video to see how it was made. I wouldn't be calling if it was correct. I just don't want to spend $40 on sandwiches that are not made the way I ordered them. It's unfortunate that the owner would rather argue with a customer instead of making a situation right. I've been here a few times already since they opened. As a whole, Firehouse's App and rewards program is difficult and slow to use. The meat is ¿steamed? which results in soggy sandwich bread. The Sandwich doesn't hold the ingredients well and falls apart easily. One topping I recently tried, sauté onions, tasted so bland and mushy I thought they were frozen. Quite frankly, everything here is overpriced. A complete meal for an adult will be over ten dollars. Sure the meat tastes pretty good and there are many different sandwiches and meats to choose from; however, it always feels like tease for my stomach. Service here is pretty good. Disappointed with the overall sandwich. I waited in line for 15minutes behind one family. Then they could not figure out how to ring up a cheese and tomato sandwich. I had four sandwiches to go and I didn't check them until I got too my destination. And they forgot the cheese in the cheese and tomato sandwich!? This sandwich only had two ingredients?! There also seems to be a general lack of urgency when it comes to the sandwich staff. I love the firehouse brand as I'm from the east coast so when it opened here in chino I was very excited! My review is about the portions that should equal the amount of $$ you're paying for a sandwich, and to make the owner aware of clientele expectations, for that reason I chose to leave a poor review. You shouldn't be tasting bread and mayonnaise only in a BBQ brisket sandwich, all the way around have plenty of meat and BBQ sauce. I understand you may be stingy with the right amount for shortages, etc..but please do realize what us customers are paying for... spent a total of $70 for a very unsatisfying lunch meal and unworthy amount of food.
