Deserves the 2 stars it gets. Took forever to get my sandwich and it was made wrong. I asked for no Italian dressing and it had a lot extra. I guess the server thought it was funny to stick it to a customer. As usual, the worst example of a restaurant is in an airport. The company must put their worst employees because the competition is limited. I was super famished after making it through security which was a breeze despite receiving an email from JetBlue about "congestion." Anywho I had a M turkey bacon honey mustard sandwich that came to a 8.25 (nothing extra) which I still found to be a decent price for airport food. It was prepared well and quickly. I stopped here at the JAX airport before my flight to Texas. They were very welcoming and sweet. Totally on task and ready to do just about anything to go over the top to help their customers. I was helped by Ivor Hicks, Vickey and Neshia. Vickey gave me no attitude at all when I asked her why my total was so big for a combo. She explained to me that everything was paid for separately. Ivor came into the conversation thinking there was a problem and tried to put me at ease when i wasn't even mad. That's good customer service. Neshia was very quiet focused on making the subs right to order. It was the most amazing sub! Too bad they're not foot longs and are max size of 8inches. They were very personable and heard my story as to why I was flying. Super entertaining crew. Thanks bunches! read more

So, I came here on a Monday afternoon before my flight. I've been to Firehouse before and I really like their food and service. There was a pretty long line for Firehouse at the airport and apparently everyone else wanted a sandwich today too. The cashiers were efficient in getting my order quickly but there wasn't alot of staff making sandwiches which I think contributed to the line. The sandwich was good but it was a little cold to me. I wish they would have heated it up a little more. The selection of chips was slim, with only three choices. I also didn't see any fruits as a side. They also didn't have any of the famous limeade on deck, which was a disappointing. Overall, I still liked my sandwich, the staff were friendly, just a little overwhelmed. read more

It seems like there is only one person taking the order but that person works really slow. You can tell that they don't get paid enough to work faster. It's what you expect in an airport. Subs are ok. Bread is good. Meat is ok. When I went the young lady at the counter was helpful and polite. Not the best sub, but when running through and airport, it's cheap and fast and better then the burger places. read more

Thank you, underpaid & lifeless employee's of JAX Firehouse ! I was looking for a McDonald's in JAX--but there was none to be found. Mind you, it's NOT the workers' fault but the disgusting slop ingredients that this corporate airport food stand offers the travelling public for an early morning meal. For $18.00, I ordered a "ham & egg" greasy sandwich & a Naked juice. While visually unappealing, I was starving and unfortunately ate this mess--only to experience stomach problems for the rest of my connecting flights that on 29 July, 2021. I threw up on my flight to Frankfurt, Germany....my first time experiencing nausea on an aircraft---from what I can only surmise was my last "meal". (Luckily, I made it to the aircraft toilet in time---to save myself the embarrassment of surrounding passengers knowing that I was ill.) Next time I travel from JAX, it will be Starbucks for sure ! My advice... consider one of the other food stands in JAX and eat here only at your own risk. read more

My review will bring up the current 1.5 yelp star average for FireHouse Subs. Its really not that bad. I like the Subway style more though where you can get a little bit of this, little bit of that, sauce this, sauce that. Here its more of a preset sub. I had the veggie sub on wheat which was okay-ish. I expected more corny play on word menu items related to the firefighter owner concept, so that disappointed me. My sandwich was covered in mayo, despite the fact that the only direction I gave was "no mayo." I returned it, received dirty looks from the employees who made the mistake and asked for a new one. The service was slow, they didn't give me a pickle, and didn't put ranch on it - which was part of the recipe of the sandwich I ordered. After 2 tries - they apparently still couldn't get it correct.
