    7.Firehouse Steak and Cheese Sub
    William D.

Really friendly staff, quick turn around, pretty good sandwiches. The steak and cheese was very good... there was a flavor in the beef that made me think it was marinated? The additional flavor was a little distracting, but wasn't bad at all. The Italian had a pretty strong ham presence. We ordered everything as is, so please take that with a grain of salt. You should customize your sandwiches as you enjoy it most. We asked for all white, but it looked like some of our sandwiches came in wheat which was no problem for us. We actually like both and actually might make us switch to the wheat! I think these subs are actually a great value. You get quite a lot of meat for the price. There is also a Coke freestyle machine at this location so you can have any flavored soda you want! We'll definitely come back especially to this location.

Where are the veggies on my veggie sub???
    Melissa W.

I've been to this location maybe a dozen times and never had a bad experience...until today. We placed an order on the app and decided to dine in with it and specifically put on my fiancé's sub "allergic to onions" after removing the caramelized onions under customization. I also ordered a veggie with no cheese for myself, two bags of chips, and two drinks. Pretty simple, right? Well, his sub had raw onions on it even though the reciept said "allergic to onions" and, for some reason when I explained this to an employee, there was STILL some confusion about whether on not there should be onions on it. Then I noticed that the chip selection was far greater than what was listed on the app (I guess not their fault, but I would have rather had something else rather than what I got.) And then I started eating and thought, "This tastes different," and realized there were no sautéed mushrooms...or tomatoes...or onions...or lettuce...or the Dijon sauce. All that was on my "veggie" sandwich was literally sauteed onions, green peppers, and mayo. And they gave me the pickle when I said "no pickle." I don't know if the people who were working today were just not with it today, having a bad day, or are all ready to quit; but seriously - what the hell? Three stars because I've had good experiences here in the past, but I would give today a zero if I could. Maybe you'll fare better.

I've been to many firehouse subs all over the country! Big fan, certainly have my top favorite locations. However, this place has changed since the last time I've been here. Wow, on the customer service. I walked in on Friday around 11am. The door could be wiped down a little better. Tables were clean, restrooms were nice and detailed. I'm big on the little things esp the chips! The chips were well organized! Omgoodness! That's the first thing i noticed as I've had experiences at other firehouses were they had expired chips in the back when it should be moved to the front and new ones in the back. I was greeted by the GM, he didn't know I been to many locations and quite a fan of this Sorensen brothers company. He greeted and treated me with personality. I usually get the Italian and I decided to try the hook and ladder instead. I'm big on my sandwiches as I've had bad experiences before at other locations when they don't listen to your needs. My sandwich It's not sloppy and prob one of the best attention to detail to their customers needs! Exactly how i wanted my sub! Usually you can tell if people are about the passion of the company and the want to serve the community and it's customers. They are all about that. I really enjoyed the vibes here. The GM even let me keep a bag of chips.. What I truly enjoy about the customer service above and beyond is experience is that the GM came around the front to personally hand my sandwich to me by name! Now, that's a 5 stars from me as I look for that in every fast food sandwich place and in every firehouse!

Hook and Ladder Sub - medium sized

These sandwiches are such a delight! I was so pleasantly surprised (not that I was expecting it be bad) and now understand what my friends have been raving about. I ordered the Hook & Ladder with a side of macaroni & cheese. I can scarcely remember the mac because I basically inhaled it. Yes, I was hungry, but I think the fact it was soooo good is the reason I would take a bite, then go to put it down and think, no, just a little more, set it down, well maybe just one more...and repeat. It's those little bits of bread that get you! And/or maybe all of that cheese.. Bread on the sandwich - the best - fluffy, light, fresh, DELISH. Perfect turkey, ham and melty cheese - and when I ordered the girl asked if I wanted the sandwich fully involved -- the look on my face made it plain I was a first-timer - but after she explained it included "the works" with mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion and on and on I said "let's go for it." You won't be disappointed! Furthermore, if the allure of a tasty sub isn't enough to bring you in, know that a portion of your purchase is going toward a cause that provides lifesaving equipment to first responders. Now there is a guarantee you will enjoy your meal.

Oh boy - I struggled to write this review but here we go! I placed my order online and requested no Mayo on my sub. I get home and there is extra Mayo on my sub - ugh but okay. They send me a survey online about my experience and I told about the Mayo. In response they sent me a coupon for a free sub with chips and a drink. Awesome! So today I used the coupon and guess what - more Mayo!!! I had the exact same problem again. They don't seem to read the personalized instructions if you order online. On a positive note their chocolate chip cookies are life changing and I totally recommend!

The bread is what making the sandwiches here so good. I can be little picky with sandwiches. Trying to get that delicate balance that will allow me to enjoy the sandwich as a whole: the combination of fresh bread and everything inside it. At Firehouse Subs they make good sandwiches. And actually listen carefully to the clients requests so you will get very close to the sandwich you have in mind. Nice people work here. And really try to make sure you will get the best sandwich. The sides are little disappointing. So here the sandwich is the main thing.

    Roast Beef Sub on wheat

This chain is based in my hometown of Jacksonville, FL and I used to eat there all the time before I moved up here a few years ago. I was excited to find a location here while doing some errands and this place does the chain proud. Service was friendly, the roast beef sandwich was tasty as ever with the medium size being plenty for lunch, and the iced tea is the real thing with cane sugar. One weird menu quirk here is they have lots of combos on the menu wall but they have single meat subs too, just ask them or look at the full printed menu. Try this place for lunch and you can't go wrong!

    Club on a sub...soooo good!

The meatball and steak and cheese are excellent. I don't think I would eat-in, but for take-home or a work-day lunch, its fantastic.

Besides breakfast plates, they also have lunch specials, sandwiches, and house specialties. They have daily/weekly 'specials' taped by the grill, so be sure to check those out. We ordered: +the Corned Beef Platter - opting for the addition of toast and eggs +the Steak & Cheese - just with grilled onions and mayo +and, The NY Avenue - with grilled pastrami, corned beef, and Swiss, topped with cole slaw, and Russian dressing, on rye bread The corned beef tasted a little off, as it was mostly potatoes, and it seemed like an off-brand of the breakfast favorite. The platter just didn't seem worth getting. The Steak & Cheese was pretty good, as the bread was fluffy and the steak and cheese were generous. The NY Avenue sandwich was less than mediocre; wasn't a fan of the use of 'deli meat slices' of the corned beef and pastrami. Staff were friendly, and they call you up when your order is ready. They also have a couple of handheld menus at the counter. Seating is minimal with metal tables and chairs, so if you're a diva, bring your donut cushion. I ordered the Carnitas and pork belly, both sold as sides. The pork belly sits under a warmer at the counter, daring you to stay committed to that Weight Watchers plan. It's sold by the pound, and my piece came to $4.80. I almost put it back, but I'm pretty sure there's an unwritten rule about not returning food you've already mentally claimed. Even the cashier said, "Oof, that's pricey," but listen I liked it, and I'd pay it again. The half‑pound Carnitas for $7.99 were delicious and worth every penny.
