My husband had the Cajun Chicken sandwich, which he said was delicious. It was lightly seasoned with jalapeño & onion, giving just the right flavor without being overwhelming. I had the Veggie sub on wheat bun. It was supposed to have pepperjack cheese, but instead, it had american cheese. They didn't give you a lot of grilled onions and green peppers. Overall, the flavor that I tasted the most was mayonnaise - so this sub was not a winner for me. read more

OMG What A Great Looking Sandwich. The Turkey Was Piled High & The Cranberry's Seemed To Be Just Enough. From The First Bite, Through To The Last, The Bun Held All Of That Turkey & The Cranberry's Did Not Make The Bread Soggy. 1/2 Of The Large Was The Perfect Amount. Nothing Left To Possibly Get Soggy. My sandwich wasmade wrong on purpose, I will never trust them again! My online order did not go through, but I was unaware of this because the cashier asked the line if my order was ready and they replied "it was dropped" After waiting another 10 mins the line asked my name and said they had no order for me. Because I called out for the cashier for not telling me this to begin with my sandwich was purposely made with wheat bread. I always come to this location. They have really nice employees who great you as soon as you walk in. Everyone is wearing a mask as well. They always have great fresh sandwiches. They even have a vegetarian sandwich which is really good. They have cookies and brownies and chips as sides. It's always super clean inside and outside. This is imbiguous. I'm a shit head if I leave a bad review. This sandwich shop is neither bad, or good? I get the supposedly "give back to the community, as in form of first responders." I've had such a bad experience here. Again and again. The workers here talk so bad about the customers literally right in front of the people. one of the girls amber, was very rude and unsanitary, she was touching her phone and did not wash her hands before making my sandwich. read more

I am so impressed with this place. I like the food, especially the salads. They're nice and fresh. Their catering service is fantastic. We did inventory in my store, Nature's Pet, and had to work for over 10 hours. I ordered catered meals for everyone. Called in my order 9/18 pick it up and what a disappointment. I come here often and the sandwiches are delicious , but not yesterday . I don't know what happened but the bread was stale and dry . We both ordered the medium Engineer sub. We didn't opt for the side dishes. I had wheat bread and my wife had white bread. The bread was nice and soft and the whole sandwich was very warm and flavorful. Not dry like some sub shops. The restaurant was very clean and the employees were very helpful and friendly. I would not hesitate to go back. It is easily one of the better sub shops in town, plus they donate to the local fire department and help support the community. read more

Probably the best hero Sub I've EVER had. Love the vibe inside and the staff was so friendly. I really like to see adults working at places like this. I feel like you just always get better quality and service from everyone. They offer a large variety of BBQ and hot sauces and the have them rated for "heat" on a 1-10 scale. But the best sauce is the house sauce Captain Sorenses Datil Pepper Sauce. It was so good we had to buy a bottle! We will DEFINITELY be back and look for them when we travel! read more

My favorite is the Philly cheesesteak, best one I've had in town so far. Huge sandwiches. There can be some big variation on how much of what ingredient you get depending on the day of week. We order for pick up. The only downside is not enough cheese generally and when you add the extra cheese or mushroom, etc it's usually not added. Still great though. read more

This place was pretty cool. And I will be back. First, the subs were good. I tired the #5 and some bites off the #3. Both EXCELLENT. We added some peri peri mild hot sauce to the number 3 for extra goodness! The subs were loaded with meat and cheese. There was not skimping here. Fillings were falling out with each bite. Second, the staff was very welcoming and friendly. Everyone acknowledged us and smiled. The cashier was very sweet and polite, and the franchise owner came out and cleared out baskets and spoke with us. I feel like that's a huge plus, because they obviously care about your experience. The subs were made in a timely manner and ummm....... Let's just talk about the pop machine! If you have one of these I feel like you automatically earn a star somehow. It's the dream you always wished for as a kid. An unlimited selection of soda combinations! Also, this place was clean. Not just because it is new. They had people coming out wiping tables after each person left and all employees on the line were wearing gloves. I like to see that, because at another sub shop nearby that doesn't always happen. Lastly, this place gives back! I'm a huge supporter of first responders of all kinds, so to see they donate money and allow the customer small ways to give back as well, is super awesome. They have already donated almost $19k to Oregon first responders and public safety, they ask you to round up to donate (without being obnoxious) and they will give you a 5gallon empty pickle bucket of you donate $2. Visited this Firehouse on the first day it opened. Hoped to be first in line but there were a couple of guys who got there before me, and four more were in line behind me when the shop opened. Despite being their first day, the staff's performance was spot on, and the sub was delicious. I've had just about every hot sub on their menu (at other locations) and haven't been disappointed yet. Was disappointed that there were no Firehouse's in Salem when I moved here 7 months ago, but was happy when I discovered on their website that one would be opening soon, so I decided to go on opening day.
