Roast beef sub with au jus
Trudy M.

First time trying this place. I had been seeing commercials on their roast beef with au jus. I was pleasantly surprised. The bread tasted fresh and the beef with cheese had great flavor.Can't-wait to try more sandwiches.

Having driven by Firehouse Subs many time, we never had the chance to drop by and try their sandwiches. However, this past weekend, we had the opportunity to visit the San Jose locations and extinguish our hunger with some delicious subs. This location, located in Almaden Ranch in San Jose, was the perfect stop for lunch. Walking in, you see the awesome firehouse decorations with dining areas both inside and outside. One of the coolest decoration is a hand drawn and painted mural done at Firehouse Subs headquarters in Florida that is unique to this location and recognizes some San Jose history. One of the workers was very helpful and kind! Wish we got his name to highlight him. The menu had a nice selection of hot sandwiches with firehouse themed names, along with soups, chili, and salads. It was going to be tricky to pick just 1 sandwich each so we got 4 (small and medium size) subs to share and taste as much as possible along with some chili. The sandwiches came straight out the oven toasted and perfectly crunchy. We really enjoyed the meatballs, especially the Pepperoni Pizza Meatball Sub! Would say though, the small is definitely..small lol

Dived into the world of hearty, loaded subs at Firehouse subs. They certainly don't play around with portions and nothing beats the comfort of a meaty sandwich. First up, the Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket - think tender smoked beef brisket with oozing cheddar, slathered in BBQ sauce. Next, new on the menu, the King's Hawaiian Pork & Slaw - a dreamy mix of slow-smoked pulled pork, melting pepper jack, and a sweet & tangy slaw, all hugged by a toasted King's Hawaiian Bun. The Firehouse Steak & Cheese- A symphony of sautéed steak, gooey provolone, caramelized onions, and peppers, perfected with a spread of mayo and deli mustard. Each sub came with a crunchy dill pickle spear on the side, adding that extra zing. Service was quick and I love that a portion of every sale at Firehouse Subs benefits The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation. Its mission is dedicated to providing lifesaving equipment and resources to first responders and public safety organizations. Truly, sandwiches that satisfy not just your hunger but your soul!

They have to change their bread, if you order it to go you get soggy dough in 5 minutes.

No longer what it used to be. 7 years ago they would give you all the sauce you want, had interesting hot sauces for everyone to try. My biggest complaint however is their bread, paying $19 for a large sandwich only to get home and eat gross soggy bread. They have to fix this issue. Multiple times I've ordered the same sandwich, even if I order it without lettuce and tomatoes, I get home and it's this gross clam chowder of a sandwich with wrapping paper stuck to it. Their service is okay, it's a quick sandwich place. All I'm saying is for the same price you can get a Mendocino farms sandwich. Which has far better ingredients and service.

Nice spacious clean location. Parking available as it's located in a plaza. Service was great and workers were very friendly. Portions are very big and definitely worth it! Fresh ingredients and delicious! Recommend!

This place has been on my list for a while now…read more I called for a to-go order on 4/12/26 and got the Kao Gai Sap and fried chicken skins. When I came by, there wasn't really any other patrons there so picking up my food was easy. Inside was very decorative too, it has that mom-and-pop vibe to it. Kao Gai Sap (5/5) - The chicken was soft and juicy on the inside, and crispy on the outside. It came with a chili dipping sauce, and I opted for white rice instead of chicken rice. This has to be by far the BEST chicken I've ever had. The chicken was seasoned to perfection. Cucumber was crisp and refreshing, although I do wish there were a few more slices. Would definitely order this again. Also, this Kao Gai Sap also came with a small portion of soup which was also equally as good! When you order this, make sure to ask for it LAAB STYLE! Crispy chicken skin (5/5) - I mean it's fried chicken skin, but I'm pretty sure they used the same salt/pepper seasoning on this as they did with the Kao Gai Sap, which gave it a nice flavor profile as opposed to being plain. The lemon-pepper dipping sauce was the perfect pairing with the chicken skin. The lemon flavor was there as well as the pepper, but both were very mild and didn't overpower each other. That dipping sauce made a HUGE difference. ALSO GET THIS LAAB STYLE! Will definitely be coming back because I'm hooked now. No one does chicken like Tuk Tuk!

Tried Wienerschnitzel and overall it was a mixed experience…read more The pastrami brioche sandwich was the star of the order Super flavorful, packed with pastrami, and definitely something I'd order again. The chili cheese fries were good too and hit the spot. I also got the mango Southern lemonade. It tasted good, but the mango flavoring was sitting at the bottom when it was served, so you have to mix it yourself first. If not, you're basically getting all the mango at the end. My biggest disappointment was the chili cheese burrito. I specifically asked for no cheese, but it still came with cheese. That was especially frustrating because I'm allergic and cannot have cheese. Order accuracy is important, especially when it involves dietary restrictions or allergies. There were definitely some strong points to the meal, but because of the mistake I'd give this visit 3 stars

First time I had the chili cheese fries, and two chili dog special for six dollars. I must say it didn't do it for me. The chili cheese fries were a bit too mushy for me and the chili. Dogs were nothing special. Tonight I came over after not getting a chance to eat till 10 PM, had the Chicago dog to start with. It was a solid four out of five, giving some leeway to it being a fast food place and only being about $3.60. So I followed that up with a sauerkraut mustard dog and added the grilled onions for free and that was also quite good pushing my luck I went with the soft serve ice cream, and I must say it went a bit downhill with that. Services reasonably friendly The store has plenty of seating and is kept reasonably clean. I think their corn dogs are also quite solid, however, I was trying to avoid fried food. I think it's a fine place for a quick hotdog, wouldn't come here for dessert. Their hours are spectacular. Try the Chicago!
