Funny how things work. Wife and daughter tall me that my niece and her husband went to this new place called Firehouse and that they are still not officially open (no idea how that happened but that is besides the point ...) Next day I see the first ever TV add for that chain. Now I am a foodie and I have no idea how I never heard of this company but there it was. Same day I am reading an article on the best sandwiches in THE USA. Firehouse was second to a chain in Chicago (so not exactly close and convenient). Well it was lunch time so of course we had to try them out (not to mention my car was at the Mazda dealer literally next door ready to pick up and I had to go and get it). Long line but it moved VERY fast. Well I ordered the turkey salsa verde combo. First let me say they have one of those new fangled soda machines that have a million choices and combos so that was fun. Then they had maybe 50 different sauces you can use to spice up your sandwich. They rated them on some arbitrary heat index. No idea who made that numbers up. They had rooster sauce (sriracha) the same level (5 I think) as some other stuff that had barely a kick. Plain BBQ sauce was a 3 LOL. Also it was in a location that was VERY hard to get to since anyone using the stuff will likely sit there, read labels and heat then figure out what they want and really only 1 person can be doing that. Anyways FOLKS IGNORE THE SAUCES!!! The sandwiches are beyond perfect as is. Do not mess them up adding stuff. The sandwich I had was possibly the best i have ever eaten (outside of possibly a Langer's pastrami). No hyperbole. Seriously the best ever. I want to go back again the next day good. Even the service was amazing. I know the guy won't be here forever but a marketing or sales VP type guy was there for the opening. Walking table to table making sure everyone was happy. Tell me who does that? Beyond fresh meat. Crisp yummo veggies and bread to die for. I ordered the light sandwich and folks avoid the calories. You will not notice the fact this is only a 425 calorie sammy. I think they must be lying - way too good for those few lol. Only thing missing is me returning. read more

Good sandwich shop!! I think the hot subs are better than jersey mikes but certainly not the cold cuts. If you're in the mood for a hot sammy this place is fresh with tons of options. The bread is on point and all the vegetables seem fresh not like they've been sitting for days. Everyone inside was friendly and helpful with the menu, especially the first few times I went. The Firehouse sandwiches are great, no complaints on the quality of the food. However, I had a negative experience with the manager on duty the day of my visit. I somehow, my mistake or the attendant at the register, ordered the wrong size sandwich ( small when I wanted a medium). When my sandwich was brought to the table, I advised the waiter that I wanted the medium and not the small. My receipt indicated that I had paid for the small sandwich. The line to order another sandwich had grown and waiter said he would take care of it. He took the sandwich back, returning a few minutes later. The waiter advised that his manager (Jacob) said that if I wanted another sandwich I would have order one. I would have to stand back in line, order a sandwich and wait for it, while the group that I was with finish their meal. In my opinion, the manager should have talked to me in person and given me the chance to pay for another sandwich without standing in line. When I confronted Jacob in person, he gave me the impression that he thought I was trying to scam a sandwich out of him. Jacob needs training on how to deal with customers. He is confrontational and does not understand the importance of customers to a small business. read more

I gave this place a second shot after hearing one of my coworkers go on and on about a specific sandwich - the "NY Steamer." Its main ingredients are brisket, pastrami, and provolone. Again, I just wasn't impressed. The sandwich was small for a "medium," wasn't overloaded with meat by any means, and was bland. Like I said previous, it tasted like any other fast food sandwich. read more

Though the sandwiches may be good the customer service falls short, this is not the place to go if you want a quick lunch! It takes FOREVER to get your food (unless you call ahead then it's a free pass to the front!) as well as getting orders wrong...it's a bit frustrating but if you go in knowing that you have to wait till hell freezes over to get your food (and it's a 50/50 shot they get it right) then you won't leave complete agitated like I did! This was our first trip to a Firehouse Subs and everything was great! Our order was perfect and the food was very flavorful. You can tell the quality of the meat that is used compared to other sandwich restaurants. What is also amazing is all of the charitable things the restaurant does for the local fire department. We will definitely coming back soon and often! read more

The owner Julie fixed the situation so not going to go into detail but we won't be visiting this place anymore and we don't recommend it as the experience left a bad taste in our mouths. The subs were pretty good but not the best, especially for the price. The meals are all around 10 bucks each for a medium sized sub. They could've been made a little better. We arrived an hour before closing and the employees looked like they were already closing up shop. Busting out mops and buckets. We felt a bit rushed. They have a chili counter with a bunch of different chilis to try and one of those coke machines with different mixing options. read more

Came here with my husband and mom. After walking past it a few times and seeing the commercials, our interest was piqued. The service was fast and the employees were courteous. I even dropped my sub when the employee brought it out to us and they were so kind and didn't make me feel bad (even though I was super embarrassed) and quickly brought me a new one. Subs were good! I placed an order online and then received an email that the driver could not find my location, even though I've order before and had delivery. then 45 mins later i receive a voice mail that the driver left the location which my empoyees are outside and said no one every drove up. This place is awesome! I got the beef brisket cheddar sandwich totally delicous. I can't wait to go back and try the meatball. I especially like that you can round up your order total to make a donation to help out their foundation. I recommend going to their website and finding out more about them. I love this place! I was never a fan of sandwich places (like Subway, for example) and I never really craved for sandwiches. Until I came here! I am head over heels for the Captain Sorensen's sandwich/sub(?). It comes out warm and toasty and the sauce is amazing, and its the best part of the sandwich. The pickles also go really well with it! Yummy, delicious, and hot food along with great service. Dine in is equally fantastic. When we needed take out containers, items removed from table for trash, or anything else...the staff was eager to help. Friendly and helpful during our order so all of us were getting what we each liked. If you go alone or not, there are 3 tv's with news, sports and entertainment shows so whatever your viewing pleasure would be met. Volume just right to not interfere with conversation. read more

Firehouse Subs is a really great sandwich shop! I ordered a custom built corned beef brisket sandwich. It had lettuce, mayo, mustard, onion, sautéed mushrooms for 50 cents extra, black pepper, and their signature sweet and spicy pepper sauce, which was pretty tasty. The atmosphere is very inviting and themed like a fire station. They also had free firefighter hats for anyone to take. A very cool thing that they have here is a huge hot sauce bar with a heat scale of 1-10, 10 being the spiciest. Overall I enjoyed everything, but the one disappointing thing has got to be the slight similarity to Jersey Mikes Subs, which I personally like better. If you're all about the atmosphere, then I would come here to get a great sub, but if you want something a bit better tasting, I recommend Jersey Mikes Subs. In the end you can't go wrong coming here to eat a delicious sub! read more

I didn't find anything particularly great about this place. The sub, a medium, was small without much meat and not a good value for the $8.00 it cost. The assortment of hot sauces was fun. I may go back and try the chili and load it up with some good heat. read more

I ordered the Italian (Genoa salami, pepperoni, Virginia honey ham, provolone, Italian dressing and seasonings) on white. I asked for my sandwich to be served cold and without mayo, mustard, and pickles. My husband ordered the New York Steamer (corned beef brisket and pastrami, melted provolone, deli mustard, mayo and Italian dressing) with no alterations to the sandwich. He was happy with his choice. I believe most of their sandwiches are served warm, but you can ask them to serve cold, which is what I did with my Italian (no mayo, mustard, or pickles). I've had the chocolate chip cookies and brownies on previous visits and those are good too. This my third visit and each time I ordered something different and been happy with whatever sandwich I ordered. Remember you can ask to have things added or removed from your sandwich. read more
