Something about eating with a flimsy plastic fork that turned my appetite down! I get it that customers should play along and eat with chopsticks, but for those of us who don't or can't, to be brought a single plastic fork just touches on the ridicule, if not the insult. Then you get those R2-D2 or R5-D4, food stained (from some previous spilling) food runners wheeling your food, and you begin to wonder about the purpose of it all. The food was okay. The ambiance seemed like the one you would find at a mall, and that goes in discord with how busy the restaurant is, especially with a fairy young crowd. Saucers provided, chopsticks or plastic utensils provided. 3. We spent $130 on this meal, no drinks (water) and no appetizers or desserts. 4. The shrimp was awful! It was cooked on the fire pan with the shell on. I could not remove the shell and my husband got frustrated and tried to eat the shrimp with the shell on and spit out the shell pieces! 5. We had multiple servers. We were so excited to visit Firepan and are very disappointed . My husband and I took our daughter there for a late lunch to celebrate her promotion. My family loves coming here for dinner! The quality of meat is good and the service has been great! Our server, Alex, has helped us the past two times we've eaten here. He was extremely attentive and friendly. We always choose the All You Can Eat Option A ($30/person) which includes a great variety of meats and sides. You can cook the meat yourself, but if you're uncomfortable, the server is more than willing to cook for you. We love the Spicy Firepan Steak and Steamed Egg. The interior of the restaurant is very clean, including the bathrooms. The music is loud enough to be heard, but not enough to be disruptive to conversation. We always have a good time here. The trick is to get the a la carte and then take home your leftovers. Don't fall for the all you can eat--that's good advice for most KBBQs. We like the ambiance and option to cook our own at the table. The service is great because they will let you control the heat, cook, etc. and they are quick with the drinks and sides. I was surprised by the [negative] reviews. This place exceeded my expectations! The AYCE was on sale because of the soft opening, and I feel like the quality of the meats are far higher than the typical AYCE quality you get from other restaurants. Also, the soybean soup does have brisket in it, which I haven't seen since I was in Korea. Everything was very delicious, and our server Justin was very attentive and helpful. I do agree that the lights inside are very bright, but I really don't care because I felt like I got the bang for my buck with this meal. If you feel like the meat is underseasoned, I'm sure you could just ask for salt or pepper and season it to your liking. Anywho, as someone has gone to many Korean BBQ restaurants (in both Korea and the US), I totally recommend this place for anyone looking for solid brisket, pork belly, and soybean soup. read more

Everyone at the table has to order EITHER "all you can eat" OR regular entrees. If you get the all you can eat, you have a choice of three different protein sources (no fish) per order. The meats are grilled at the table by your waiter and, surprisingly, by you too, since you need to keep an eye on the food to avoid burning (I didn't expect this part of the experience, and didn't care for it). The food was tasty, and obviously plentiful. We were full by the second round, but had already ordered a third when I noticed the "fine print" that indicated that you cannot carry out your leftovers, and you'll be charged for each plate of meat left (???) . One of our daughters was suddenly able to eat up most of our third round of food, so I don't feel like we lost money, but this eating "plan" is not for us. That said, the food was good and our service was great, just know what to expect. $$$ read more

This is probably the best Korean bbq I have ever had! I first tried it about a year ago and have been hooked ever since. We come here probably twice a month for dinner. The prices are extremely fair for what you get! The all you can eat is definitely the way to go. Even when they are slammed with full tables the service is always top notch. Unlike other Korean bbq spots, it's not overly loud but they have a lot of tvs to watch sports. The kimchi is one of my favorite things about Firepan, it's perfectly crunchy with just the right amount of spice and amazing flavor! Will definitely continue to keep coming here as my go-to Korean bbq spot :) read more

Me and my boyfriend got there at 10 pm. It said online the store closes at 11pm but our waitress said the kitchen will close at 10:30. We ordered our food fast and she seemed to have an attitude the entire time. I asked for a side of sauce she never came back with. My boyfriend and I come almost every week and have had great experiences here but our waitress really ruined our experience this time. Came here during their soft opening. You can tell the servers are still learning and being trained and thus are not familiar with how kbbq grilling works. Which is fine though since that's what learning on the job is for. Our server was nice and checked on our table periodically as best as she could, so I appreciate the service in that aspect. Meats were pretty well seasoned in my opinion. I didn't find any of the marinades (from what I tried at least) to be overly salty or sweet. They also have this banging orange sauce that has a surprisingly great kick to it and one that I wasn't expecting. I think I asked for a sauce refill at least 3 times lol One of the disappointments for me however would be the banchan. Not only was the variety incredibly limited, but the taste was just not there for me. Everything was either bland or overly salty. I love a good selection of side dishes to eat with my meats, so this was quite the letdown. I would probably come here again, but only if I'm in the area and am craving kbbq. read more

I checked this place out with a group of friends who are KBBQ enthusiasts! We were excited to see this restaurant open in Woodbridge. When we arrived we were told it would be a 45 minute wait but it ended up being more like 5 minutes. We had the AYCE Option A and some soju. All of the food we had was good but the steamed egg, spicy tofu stew, spicy bulgogi, and Firepan steak were my favorites. The serving sizes of the meat were smaller than what I'm used to but that just meant we got to try more meats before we got too full. My only complaint would be that they provide a lot fewer sides than other KBBQ restaurants I've been to in the surrounding areas. read more

This our first time coming to Firepan at this location. We usually go visit the one in Falls Church and I must say it is much better at the Falls Church location. For this review, we're not really expecting much from the service, due to it being new and it's only a soft opening. But the quality of the food seriously lacks compared to their other location. The meat is alright, sauce also tasteless, and their side dishes are over salted. Overall, our stay here was only ok at best due to the wait time with a reservation, and mediocre food. One last thing to consider is their seating. If you're planning to come with 4+ people, make sure to reserve a larger table prior. read more

New Korean BBQ place, finally in Woodbridge! Usually have to drive to Centreville or Annandale to get my Korean barbecue fix. Decor is nice and modern; blue lighting and bar area is upscale. They have both AYCE and entree choices. One very good thing about this place was really good ventilation so you don't get overwhelmed by the barbecue smoke like you do some other places. Meat cuts were pretty good and the one small criticism was the mediocre bonchon (side dishes) selection and meh tofu soup. The firepan steak and pork belly are great choices but the brisket and other selections were all good too. One thing I also like is that you get to cook your own meat which I prefer so you can eat at your own leisure; some places cook for you, which seems nice, but it also sort of feels rushed when that happens because it's all dumped in plates in front of you at once. We went on a Monday, so it wasn't very busy and the table service was good. Pricing is about average for northern Virginia and I'd come here again. read more

We used to always go to So Korean in Centreville which has never disappointed, but when this place opened up it's been more convenient to seeing as we live 10 minutes from here. Traveling for food has never been an issue. Firepan is just that good! We went to the soft opening and to be honest it was average, and we've previously went to the Eden center location. we just weren't impressed. One day we decided to give it another try, and we haven't looked back since. The quality of the meats is good especially for the price. They've also experimented with their menu, over the last couple years. they offer three AYCE options with includes sushi and other high-end meats. Every time we've been their service has always been on point. and its a nice atmosphere for dates or even just eating out with the family.
