I am rescinding my 5 star review…read more Last night, just months after we paid full price for a professional installation the loaded Asko dishwasher tipped out of the cabinet as not one single retaining bolts were installed. We found the bolts and the specialized retaining spaces in the owners manual bag. At least the installer did not discard them. After watching several Asko sponsored instructional videos online last evening I secured the dishwasher as the installation professional neglected to do. Seems like securely attaching the appliance would be a basic step.

It's been years since I've used Doyle, but that's not a bad thing…read more In the past few weeks, I've needed the MB sink not draining, the basement Whirlpool refrigerator (40 years old) not freezing, and the kitchen Whirlpool refrigerator freezer lower basket not opening well. Enter Kevin for the sink, and Bruce for the refrigerator. Kevin fixed the MB sink, which was corroded and needed a replacement drain. Bruce told me the 40-year-old Whirlpool refrigerator in the basement was a loss, as the freon it's using is running out, and no longer available, replaced a long time ago by another coolant. OKEY DOKEY . . . time to get another refrigerator for the basement, but this Whirlpool sure served its 40 years well!! Lastly, Bruce told me the kitchen Whirlpool refrigerator needed new gliders for the freezer basket. I could see how they were not working completely. Bruce ordered the gliders and within a couple weeks, he was here to install said new gliders. They worked perfectly. And Bruce showed me how well that freezer basket was working and actually the whole damn drawer opened . . . something I had never experienced. YIPPEE on all counts!! I still need to contemplate getting a replacement refrigerator for the basement. Nothing fancy at all. Just a plain old refrigerator. We'll see!

After over three months of operation, cooling and now heating, I give Galmiche's a good five stars…read more We'd had Galmiche's give us a bid several years ago and were impressed then, however we didn't have the funds and decided to wait and see. Well, this summer as we experienced our hottest heat wave, the nearly 40 year old system finally died. Galmiche's came back out, gave us a new bid and had a new system installed within four weeks of our old system dying. Over a month later the AC wasn't working again. Galmiche's came out, found a problem and fixed it, on warranty. A couple days later the AC stopped working again. The same technician came out, did a deeper dive and determined that a part hadn't been replaced that should have been as part of the complete install. The company warrantied the repair again, accepting responsibility. All in all, I've been very pleased with Galmiche's. Their price, their courteousness, their promptness, and their integrity. I recommend them, and will definitely consider them when our second system (we have a two system house) finally kicks it.

When I complained he said he'd have to get more materials and come back. Then he told me it would be an additional $510! Said he never saw a fireplace with my measurements. This was a self proclaimed expert who had been working many years doing this work. In a second visit he spent 5 hours installing correcting his previous errors. I have two questions that should prevent you from ever using this company. 1. When I approved the purchase, he took my fireplace measurements. Yet I was charged an extra $500 because he came unprepared to do my job on his first visit. 2. A heating guy who is a friend said I got taken. He said the fireplace repair was usually a $300-$400. He said to replace a gas fireplace was about $1,500 at most. So in his estimation yes, I was taken. I will be contacting the BBB.

Steve looked over the inspection, caught a few additional issues that the inspector missed, and told us what was and wasn't important for our safety. We had to have our panel upgraded, add a circuit for our dryer, and move our panel about 10' over to comply with Amaren's code. I never felt like he was trying to "create" issues just to make a buck, which is always my biggest fear working with any kind of contractor. Additionally, Steve and Josh were the perfect people to work with and having working on your home. We were at work most of the time, and I never felt uneasy about leaving them at my house for the day to do their job. They were always on time, polite, didn't smoke cigarettes/dip, and I believe they took their shoes off before going into my house because it was muddy outside, and I didn't find any dirt inside! Steve was very quick with responding to e-mails and text messages, and I know how busy things are right now, so it was nice to feel like he wasn't too busy for any of his customers. If anyone has electrical issues, or needs an electrician for anything, Steve's your guy!

The newer unit was frozen over so he said he couldn't figure out what was wrong with it until the ice melted and the other was old and should be replaced. He became frustrated with me when I had trouble understanding what was causing the unit to freeze over if there was no Freon. He appeared arrogant and I was ready to send him home at that point, but my wife was mainly dealing with him and it was a hot day. When I complained to my wife about him she said that maybe I shouldn't have bothered him while he was working and that he was very nice to her. After examining the units he spent a while discussing our options which included a new air conditioning to replace the older one or adding 5 pounds of AR-22 freon for $1100. He wanted to charge $7,500 for the new unit which seemed reasonable, but he couldn't do it until next week and, after a quick Google search, I told him $1100 was high for adding freon. Then he once again appeared upset and asked me what I was talking about. When I explained that I quickly looked it up and knew that It usually costs maybe $500-$750 he conceded that I could find it cheaper elsewhere. Then he told us it was $125 dollars for the visit. I told him that he can't charge me for the visit because nobody notified us that there would be any charge. He said that he doesn't work for free. But I told him that without prior notification of a service charge, I didn't believe it was legal for him to charge me considering he didn't do any diagnostic testing or any repair work. He just looked around and told me something any technician could have discovered in a few minutes. He then while standing in our kitchen played the whole recording of the conversation my wife had with the dispatcher to learn that we were right and we were never notified that there would be any charge. Two days later we had Meyer Heating and Air do a same day installation for the same $7500 and they added freon to the other unit for free when the $333 leak detection didn't reveal any leaks. Plus the reps at Meyer were very pleasant to work with so I gave Meyer a 5 star review and Design a 1 star review.
