First, I'll say the staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. Food came out fast, and they even squeezed us between two reservations so we could sit down and eat. However, even though the menu is supposed to reflect Midwest style food, it leaves a lot to be desired. We ordered gumbo and the only thing that was right was the rice. Nothing about that dish was anywhere close to gumbo, too heavy on the salt, the roux "looked and ate" like a heavy, thick gravy, and it was impossible to taste anything else that was supposed to be in there. The fried fish sandwich was left in the fryer too long and the crumb coating was burnt. Now, the Salisbury steak was actually pretty decent, but it did not make up for the fact that the whole family left feeling a bit ill from the quality of the meals. I'm sure there are other dishes that might have been more to our liking but it's unlikely we'll be back to try them. Just not our speed. read more

I would not recommend this place for food, service and or drinks. The ambiance is amazing. All though it's described as a "mid west-bar" and I have no idea what that means. The Lounge area is really nice. However the menu gives a very bad taste to "fusion" The drinks are nothing like they should be. Do NOT order a mojito. Mine had no mint, no lime and tasted like it was made with tequila and not rum. Almost like a cheap pre-made powder mix. The service is terrible, or maybe our sever was having a bad day. When you are seated they ask you to, scan the menu. That prompts you to a self service menus. So, with out clear directions we ordered from there. I should also note we had been waiting for 10 minutes. So we assumed you are supposed to order from the app. Our server seemed upset about that. We later ordered a beer and mojito from her. She completely forgot my husbands beer! She also just did not seem interested in us. After giving us our burgers. My husbands oklahoma's burger was decent. I had the Korean spicy chicken. It was terrible, salty and over sauced. DO NOT ORDER! anyways back to the sever, after she dropped off our food, she was gone for the rest of the night. We had to wave her down for our check. Such a cute spot! As soon as we walked in, we felt like we were in Jackson Hole, with the antlers on the light fixtures and the fireplace going. The A+ food and service made it even better. Less than 10 minutes from the airport, this will be our new stop before or after an airport drop off! Food: - Korean chicken sandwich: the fried chicken was perfectly cooked, tasty and super crispy. We didn't love the Korean sauce, it was pretty sweet, next time I'll try the Buffalo. - French onion soup: YUM! I have gone here twice now. This is a fantastic new restaurant. I love the decor and the fun laidback attitude. Last time I was there was with friends. We started at the bar and had some specialty cocktails and some standards. Everything was excellent. After everyone arrived we got a booth and began ordering. I had no idea Salisbury steak was something besides a TV dinner, but now I do and it is amazing, I've had recur dreams about that dark brown gravy... I need more of it in my life. The walleye was light and crisp, flaky inside and just wow. They had a special beer salad that night and when I usually order a beet salad, I think, I wish there was more beets. Not the case here, delicious dressing plenty of beets and just well done. Artichoke Dip!!!!!!!!! Asked for a second round of break to go with it, they obliged and we finished it. I was excited to visit based on great reviews, but left with mixed feelings. The upsides: A great vibe, with dim lighting, fun decor, and a fireplace. Our cocktails and food were solid. The downsides: I was very disappointed that no one checked for vaccination proof (from us or any other patrons we saw come in), as is required within the county. We also timed our visit for happy hour as listed on their website, only to find out no happy hour yet exists. As a note, the music was turned up around 5pm; great if you're looking for a pub/sports bar vibe. Ultimately, I think this could be a great spot in Burien. I'd love to return but will hold off until I know they comply with checking vaccination proof of all patrons. read more

I've been here quite a few times and always had a similar experience. The ambiance of the place is great- moody lighting, vibey decor. The service has not been stellar though. They are usually pretty busy but I always sit at the bar and even there, it takes awhile to get drinks. This last time I went, my girlfriend and I were two of five people seated at the bar and it took us two hours to get only two drinks each. Then we had to wait and wait and wait for the check. Definitely a cool place with good food and drinks, but the service makes it a subpar experience each time. read more

We love going to the Fireside. Great atmosphere, nice people. Love sitting at the bar but, please -- the bar stools are torture. Please, please replace them. This was our first time trying this restaurant. We were excited and wanted to love it! Unfortunately the whole experience fell short. The artichoke dip appetizer was great. But as for the steak kabobs they were over cooked & felt like I was chewing rubber. The kale salad underneath the kabobs was nothing to write home about. The burger was good but came out with cold fries. I would of loved to tell our waitress but she was no where to be found. The customer service from the door man was great we got seated at our reserved table right away but once we sat down we weren't greeted by our waitress for a long while. We needed something easy, late night and after searching Yelp we found Fireside. The service was a little slow but the server was fun so that made up for it. The restaurant has a bar feel and the food was good. I would go back again for a meal, wasn't blown away but it's certainly a good option, especially later in the evening. read more

A dark intimate bar with a fireplace. Midwest inspired menu and drinks. The food is pretty good with some hits and misses. Pretzel and the smash burger are on point and the tater tot casserole has its moments. The mixed drinks and great when they are made correctly and there are definitely some bartenders that are more consistent than others. The service is friendly and can be fast. We did not have a reservation but got a good table right away. The frozen Harvey Wallbanger was very good, the had the pretzel, which comes with sausage and sliced apple, all very good. Been here twice now both times the burgers did not disappoint love that they grill the bun came out hot and fresh the French fries are great too! My husband had this month burger special it was some pork that was breaded he loved it. The server was sweet and took good care of us.
