I went here for an oil change deal that was on the front of the newspaper ($25 for synthetic blend). I made an appointment ahead of time. When I took my car in the representative was professional and took my coupon even though it expired the day prior. It seems that their service includes other maintenance besides the oil change, including tire pressure and more. Apparently they found that my tires were 10 pounds over inflated, and they corrected that for me. The motor oil that they used was of high quality. I would definitely recommend coming here for oil change services, especially if you have a coupon. read more

I initially would have agreed to all the 1-star ratings due to the horrible customer service and rudeness by their employee John but after completing the survey that Firestone emails you after a visit, I was surprised to get a call from Manager Luis who went above and beyond to make things right. He took such good care of me that I even brought my 2nd car for repairs. So if you're gonna come here, it's important to make an appointment and only deal with the new Manager Luis, and respond to the email surveys! I saw that John got a good Yelp rating just 2 days ago, so that tells you Manager Luis is handling any poor customer service issues on the spot. Take advantage of their lifetime brakes and lifetime alignment, especially if you're gonna keep your car for awhile. Receipts and quotes are all digital now via email. read more

I should've read the reviews before doing business with Firestone, but you'll see why if you read on. Disclaimer: I'm sitting here in the Firestone lounge and have time to kill as I write this review so feel free to skip to the end if you just want the summary. Long story short, it took almost 26 hours to get my truck back and all I needed was ONE tire changed due to a nail in the sidewall. I would've went to Costco but they didn't have the same tire I needed. Lex Brodie's doesn't sell Bridgestone tires. That led me to Firestone. Since I didn't want to drive a lot with a nail sticking out of my tire, I called the Aiea Firestone to ask if they had the tire in stock first. The person I spoke with asked me for specific tire information while he checked the computer so I believed him when he said they had it in stock and to come on down. I got there a little after 3 PM Saturday, and Erik was the customer service agent who helped me in person. He was really nice; he came out to my truck to check the tire damage and model. I showed him how the nail was sticking out from the sidewall surface of the tire that faces inward. He laid on the concrete to get a better look and asked me how my tire pressure was. I told him that it was fine, that my tire pressure light hadn't come on. He said, "Are you sure the nail punctured all the way through? Maybe it hasn't." Mind you, three other tire people had previously told me not to mess with the nail. But anyway, Erik went ahead and fiddled with the nail and all of a sudden I heard a psssssssssssss sound. He made the sound stop by shoving the nail back into my tire. Well now that's how you make a sale I guess because I really didn't want to drive my truck around anymore until I had a new tire on there! We went back inside the store and come to find out THEY DID NOT HAVE THE TIRE. Erik tried to sell me another tire that was cheaper but I hadn't even heard of the brand name before. Plus, the reason why I went to this Firestone in the first place because they said over the phone that they had the same tire! Anyway, Erik called other Firestone locations and the only one that confirmed they had it was Kaneohe. He asked me if I would like to drive over there and have them change my tire out in Kaneohe. I said no (because hello, you just released air out of my tire when you pulled the nail out)! So Erik said he could drive there, get the tire, drive back, and they could put the tire on for me at the Aiea location where I was at, all that day. Wow, that's what you call 5-star service I thought. So I gave the okay and was going to do some errands in the meantime. Not 15 minutes later, Erik called and said he miscommunicated about the timeframe and they wouldn't be able to finish my truck that day after all. But, he reassured me that he would personally pick up the tire first thing the next morning and get it onto my truck asap. Next day. Sundays they open from 9-5 but when I called at 9:45 a girl said they were leaving in about 30 mins to go pick up the tire. At 1:45, Erik called to say he picked up the tire and asked if I needed my truck back by a certain time. I know it must've been a hassle to get the tire so I just said no problem, that I needed it back that day for sure but time didn't matter. In my head though, I was thinking that my truck should've been first in line for maintenance since it was there since 3:30 PM the day before! I got no call after that, which made me nervous because it was already 4:30. My boyfriend drove me down there and I checked my truck first before going inside the store. MY TIRE WAS THE SAME ONE WITH THE NAIL INSIDE IT, just moved to a different parking spot. I mean, seriously? I went in to inquire and Erik said that my truck would be the next one pulled in to get worked on. My truck finally got done at 5:18 PM one day later. On the up-side, it was really nice that they tested my battery and topped off my power steering fluid after noticing that the cap was loose. I honestly feel bad for the customer service agents who have to keep apologizing to customers for the long wait; I know I wasn't the only one. Something needs to be done from an organizational standpoint, or Firestone is just shooting themselves in the foot. If you read that whole story, my guess is that you're killing time in the Firestone lounge, too. The 2-star rating is because of the multiple instances of miscommunication and the ridiculous wait. Our work truck was having uneven wear on the front two tires and needed replacing. Prior to bringing our truck in, a coworker called to see if they had our required tire in stock, and they did; Costco did not have the tires we needed in stock and would have had to special order them. Our auto mechanic recommended that we mount the two new tires on the front, not the back of the truck. In order to do this, Firestone requires you to sign a waiver stating that you insist that the new tires be installed on the front, even though it is generally safer to mount new tires on the rear of the vehicle. One drawback of buying tires here is that they don't come with a Road Hazard Warranty, it is an extra cost. Other than that, they finished installing the tires in an hour. We had our 2011 Hyundai Sonata towed into here, two days ago. It would not turn over all the way when trying to start it, so we brought it in. They kept it overnight, and stated they were able to jump it and drive it into the store to park overnight. The next day, the mechanic had a toothache, so it sat there a whole day waiting to be diagnosed. The day after, we got a call to take it to the dealership instead. We got it there, and the ignition no longer works, and appears to be tampered with by a mechanic NOT wear and tear. They never conveyed this issue to us. The ignition worked when brought to firestone, but didn't when it left. We are being asked to pay $584 to fix this, before the initial problem can be fixed. read more

I was very happy with my experience there yesterday 2/9/18. I called because I was in desperate need of 4 tires. The gentleman I spoke with over the phone was very helpful. I brought my car in and he gave me an expected time, which was Spot on!! He was very friendly and explained things to me perfectly. I've been to mechanics that make you feel stupid for not knowing the basics of cars (which I dont) but I didn't feel pressured or dumb. My car is great and everything was painless and easy!!! Terrible service. Came here around 10 am to get my tire fix. Told me they would need to put a new tire, which I was ok with it. Had some errands to do so I dropped off the tire and came back almost a couple hours later just to wait another hour for them to put the tire back on the car!!and why do you open the hood I just need the tire changed! 3 fucking hours to get my tire change!! The service advisor was very polite and explained everything in detail about choosing tires. I never felt pressured to buy anything more than what I chose. I got my car back within 2 hrs. Not impressed at all. Did my safety check last week on Thursday, had to come back once I did my registration. Originally was told could just run the car in for that. So I did the next day. Was told they couldn't do it that way and they didn't have a tech in. So scheduled an appointment for 10:30 am today Saturday. Got there and was told it would be about an hour wait. What the hell is the point of having an appointment and being told it would be a quick in and out thing? Probably just going to pay to go somewhere else so I can finally get this done. Also drove all the way from wahiawa today for my supposed "appointment" since we live there and I only did the safety check here because I work near by. I had three A/T tires installed by Firestone back in 2015. Come to find out it is not a part of their work to install a new valve stem when you get tires. Only reason I know this is I came home Sunday to a flat tire. So I pulled the tire off and took it to the shop. I got a call Monday morning, informing it was a bad stem. When asked if yhey changed it when they orginally did my tires, they said they don't do that. Well lesson learned. Anytime you get tires done (No matter where it is at) make sure the valve stem is changed. read more

Firestone was the first auto shop to have the product I needed, and they were also readily availabe to take me on the day I called. I was particularly upset because I was informed that the service would take 2 hours. Instead, it took 4 hours. I sat and waited across the street inside of Starbucks. A courtesy call would have been nice, to update me on the progress of the service. Instead, I had to walk back (through the rail construction) and realize my car was not yet finished. 4 hours is the longest I have ever waited for a car service to be completed. My new tires seem to be running fine thus far, but I do not have full confidence of it just yet. I'll give it a few weeks for an update. A day later, the shop called me to inform me that they had forgotten to put my wheel locks back inside of my car's trunk. At that point, I was upset and irritated. I live a few miles away in town, and that would require me to find another time to drive through traffic, simply due to lack of quality service. I mean, is it really that hard to do your job? I paid over a thousand dollars for Firestone to service and replace my tires, only to receive the lowest quality car service I have ever had in my life. I don't think I will return in the future for tire replacements, nor will I recommend this to others. Don't be like me, replace your tires as soon as possible and go to Costco! Otherwise, Firestone will have to be the only option. read more

This is a great place for anything to do with your car. The service is excellent and the technicians totally know their stuff. They keep a very clean work space and the wait lobby is clean as well. I always appreciate when they recommend a cheaper service then what I am asking for. For instance, today I wanted just a tire rotation, $20 bucks, and the guy recommends going with the full auto check that includes the tire rotation, $9.99. Obviously you are going to get subjected to upgrades and offers but the bottom line I paid $10 bucks for the rotation. There were a couple of things as well that did need attention. The place is easily accessible coming east on Kamehameha but you need to loop around if you are going west. Still close enough to Aiea shopping center and across the street from the mall if you need to wait awhile. read more

I had both my husbands and my car set up to get a safety inspection done here. After waiting an hour, they told us that my husbands car did not pass the inspection because of his tints. (which are not dark AT ALL) Funny thing is, this was the second inspection his car has had since we moved to Hawaii. The first one he passed with no issues at all, we just passed the 30 days it was good for and had to redo it. So somehow, there was now an issue with tints that there wasn't before, and they still charged us the full $20. What a waste of time and money. Lets just say, I didn't bother getting my car inspected there. We left and took it to another shop 20 minutes away who passed both of our cars without any problems and it only took 30 minutes for BOTH. I don't think I'll waste my time here anymore. read more

Don't go to Firestone for your safety check. I went to Firestone to get my safety done. They told me my car did not pass due to my HID, windshield wipers needed to be changed and my tint was bubbling on the back window. I changed all the items that were told to me and went back to get my safety done again. Since I changed everything according to what was told to me you would think my car would pass safety inspection. No I was wrong. Now I am told my safety didn't pass AGAIN this time due to my turn signal reflector not amber. Why was this not told to me the first time? I could have fixed it before. Now I have to go back one more time. If I could select zero stars I would put zero stars. read more

I have come here a few times and have always been satisfied. But today is a different story. I made an appointment to get a state safety inspection at 3:00. They told me to give them about an hour. An hour went by and they hadn't even brought my car into the garage. Then two hours. I was getting close to saying never mind and going somewhere else. But finally, at 5:30, they told me they would be getting to my car shortly. I would've given one star, but they were very nice and said they weren't going to charge me because it took them way longer than the estimated time. So I guess I can't be too upset. I'm a slacker and my oil change was literally 4 months overdue... 7 months since my last service... YIKES! Every light was flashing on my dashboard so I couldn't delay any more. Dropped the car off for an oil change this past Sunday at about noon totally prepared for a wait since I didn't have an appointment. The nice young man at the counter welcomed me with a smile. I've never been disappointed with the service I get at the counter there. After being told that my car world be done at 4, I selected which oil change I wanted, handed my keys over to the nice young man and walked an intense 5 miles to Monterey Bay Canners in the sweltering heat to watch football. Okay, so it was probably not even a mile and the weather was perfect... but I'm fat and it felt like 5 miles by the time I sat down in the bar to watch the games :) About an hour later, I could see from Monterey that my car was still parked in the stall immediately in front of the door so knew they hadn't started on my car. I called and asked them to change my oil change from the high mileage to the standard service. I was told they'd already started on my car. With a smile I'm sure they could feel on the other end of the line, I corrected him and said I know they haven't because I can see my car from the window of Monterey. He politely chuckled and said "Oh yeah". I thanked him kindly and hung up. After the last game was over, I went to do some shopping and kill time. Other Yelpers, have had issues with waiting much longer than the quoted time so I was anticipating the same. At 3:45 I called and checked on the status of my car. I was told she was done and ready for me. My response, literally, "Don't lie to me. I'm walking over from the mall and if I get there and she's not ready I'm going to be very upset,." Of course, again speaking with a smile the could feel on the other end of the line. He laughed and promised my car would be ready when I got there. True to his word, she was waiting for me. We went over what they did. When I dropped her off, I specifically asked for them to check my brake fluid because my light was on and I knew for a fact it was extremely low. I inquired, he checked the sheet, nope, no top off done. He walked out to ask the tech. I could see them through the glass and hear the tech say he checked and it wasn't needed. He said the light was on and I should get my brakes checked. The boy came back in, and conveyed the message to me. With a sweet, pretty girl smile and a stern mommy voice, I corrected him and asked him to check again. Sure enough, the nice young man personally checked and filled the brake fluid using an entire bottle. I've mastered the pretty girl smile with a stern mommy voice and generally get what I need to get taken care of without any drama. Unlike other Yelpers, I'm satisfied with my experience and will return again. That young man really made the difference... shit could have gone from 0 to 100 real quick of he wasn't so awesome :) read more

If I could, I would've given this shop a negative score. 1st, I had a company vehicle which had a blowout on the driver's front tire. Now these tires were bought about 14 months ago from this shop. But this isn't the reason I felt this shop was unsatisfactory. I brought in my van at around 8:30am to get the tire replaced. I drove by the at 2:15pm and it still had the spare tire on. They never worked on it. So I went in and told the gentleman I needed my van back by 3pm. He said no problem. I leave, he calls me at 2:45pm saying my van is ready to be picked up. I get there at 3:30pm. The associate hands me my keys and says it's ready. I asked if they put the spare tire back under van. He said no, we just threw it in the back of the van. I said, do you drive with a spare tire on your back seat? Then he asks me how did I take out my spare tire?. Now, this is where I lost it. How the hell you work at a tire shop and don't know how to put a spare tire back in it's place? This is why I'm not ever going back there. Bad service period! read more

Went in for an oil change and a brake inspection. And got exactly that. The only thing was they didn't know how long it would take and since I live close I didn't mind just dropping it off. They gave me a four hour window saying when I should be done. It was completed within about an hour which was awesome and easy, by the time I got home I missed the call and settled in I got a missed call. I had a bubble in the sidewall of the tire and went to see if it could be replaced with no appointment. Donna happily assisted me with the tire and was even able to get lifetime insurance for my other three tires even though they were used. I was assuming as a walk-in that we would have to wait all day for the vehicle but was only quoted 2 hours. I later received a phone call from Donna informing me that my car was ready for pick up an hour later. Great customer service, I will definitely be back again!!! read more

She explained to me all the deficiencies that could have been caused by poor road conditions.
