I paid 1578 dollars for a new set of tires and alleged wheel bearings!I figured The noises I heard were from a bad cv joint b\t they said it was the wheel bearings.After paying them a kings ransom I drove my car and noticed the car was making even more racket and godawful noises then before,lots of scraping and clicking noises!Do the technitions actually repair cars here,doesn't seem like it and they were playing some godawful autotune muzak too!The only reason I gave 1 star was because one of the service managers let me use a phone cord to charge my phone! read more

I went here to have my car checked for horn that doesn't work. Should have just gone to the dealer in the first place. They essentially had me pay them for making my check engine light come on and not even fixing the original issue. Thanks for giving me a worse situation than I came in with. Well I have to visit this location 2 times to fix an issue I had in California. I moved here noticed my breaks were better before they changed them. Well the first time I was dismissed said it was ok something slipped the second time I went in my file mysteriously disappeared so I had to give them my receipt with warranty from Cali the guy his name starts with a H was very helpful he's always nice when I come in and they finally took the "cheap" breaks off and replaced them. I would have given them 5 stars but I had to come back a second time which was an inconvenience. But this location fixed my issue and I was happy they also found out my "oil change" wasn't done correctly in LA doesn't surprise me. read more

I dropped my car off here to get JUST an oil change....it took them 3 hours to call me back and to tell me that I needed my air filter change and a new set of tires. I declined only asking for my oil change, that's it. It takes them another hour and half to do that. So in total 4.5 hours to get an oil change. Here is the worst part...when I do get my car I hear a clicking sound every time I brake that I have never heard before. When I ask them about it, they said the work they put into the car wouldn't have them do anything with the brakes and the best they can offer would be an inspection which would mean I wouldn't get my car back until tomorrow. On October 16, 2020, I took my 2017 BMW X5 in for an oil change at Firestone Auto on W. WT Harris Blvd. in Charlotte, NC. I had typically only gotten service at the BMW dealership but decided to try here after a friend had his BMW serviced at a Firestone. While in the shop, a tune up was mentioned and I decided to allow them to do the tune up as I had recently hit 85K and figured it would be good for scheduled maintenance. After hours of waiting for the oil change and tune up, the technician gave me my keys, cashed me out ($700) and I pulled my car out of the parking lot, only for my engine to be misfiring and unable to accelerate. I returned to the shop within a minutes time as I pulled out and turned right back around. The manager told me they used aftermarket spark plugs and figured that could be the reason why (which later came out that they were too long, hence the cylinder head impact damage). They then called the BMW dealership to order spark plugs and they replaced the after market plugs with the ones from the dealership. The engine then got worse. I ended up having to leave my car there overnight. I came in the next morning, already upset about the situation, and the technician told me they put my original spark plugs back In to see if that would correct the situation and it continued to not run properly. My car was taken to them in superior condition as noted on the previous inspection notes and video from the last visit to the dealer. Firestone then let me know that they had already scheduled me a rental car and towed my vehicle to the dealership. They put me in a BMW X3, only to call me two hours later and say that I had to return it because they would not cover that amount and tried to place me in a Hyundai Elantra. After expressing how upset I was, they agreed to cover an SUV. Over the course of the past SIX WEEKS, they have been covering a rental vehicle for me. Fast forward a couple weeks, after multiple inspections from firestones independent inspectors as well as BMW, and a partial tear down of the engine, BMW determined that the engine needed to be replaced ($26.2K) and their inspector concurred. There were metal shavings throughout the entire engine, as well as the oil filter (mind you, Firestone also did an oil change). The dealership also noted that THE OIL WAS LOW. The oil drained from the car was completely filled with metal shavings and gave a sparkly look when a light was shined on it. Despite the dealer and inspectors findings, Firestone has continued to request a full tear down of the engine or they would not pay for the repair. Monday, November 16, 2020, BMW notified me that they would not be completing a complete tear down because there was enough conclusive evidence to show that the engine needed replacement and they would be closing the ticket. Due to the build of the engine, the intense amount of labor, and the findings that had already been noted, they did not feel it was necessary. Moving forward to November 18, I received a call from the claims rep stating that because BMW would not do the tear down, I had two options. They could offer 10K to HELP with the repair or have it towed to another BMW dealer that would complete the tear down. No dealership or shop has agreed to do the tear down due to the SAME reasons already reported by THE DEALERSHIP. This is absolutely ridiculous! How can the claim rep agree with the fact that this is their fault and there is enough evidence and proceed to say, "well management says we still must have the tear down!" For the second time, now that we are in another month, I am making payments on a vehicle that FIRESTONE DESTROYED and I am unable to enjoy due to their negligence. The claims rep told me that he would call me by the end of the day on 11/18 and I NEVER (and still haven't) heard from him! Firestone's website touts that their techs are certified to work on BMW's and this proves WHY FIRESTONE IS A TERRIBLE AUTO SHOP! If they did not know what they were doing, they should not have agreed to the work! Other than a rental car and the run around, I have not received consistent communication, a repaired vehicle, NOR A REFUND FOR THE POOR $700 SERVICE JOB THEY WERE ORIGINALLY PAID TO DO! The last conversation with the claims rep said "I know it's unfair, but management....." I have called 5 or more times each day, and left messages since 11/18 AND NOT ONE PHONE CALL RETURNED! I feel as though I have been very patient and civil in giving them a chance to correct this issue! As a public school teacher, I work very hard for EVERY dollar that I earn and I will not be jaded by the big company crap! I do applaud the Store Manager, Rebecca for her efforts. She was very nice and professional throughout this terrible experience. Stay away from this place! read more

I am addicted to Firestone because I have my routine down. This location is one of the best I have ever been to. They do the usual up-sell but it is much softer here. They even inform you that you could wait a while on some maintenance items. Other locations really lay the up-sell on thick: buy this and that really hard. This place tried to say I needed new windshield wipers but the inspector who gave me my state sticker said I didn't need them and passed my car for inspection. You need to know this - keep your wits about you and ask whether it is scheduled maintenance (and whether it is the manufacturer's schedule or Firestone's), or if it is required maintenance. I only go here for basic work. I haven't found my go-to mechanic here in Charlotte. read more

I made an appointment online to drop my car off at 1:30pm on 5/14. I get there and Freda condescendingly says "we didn't have that appointment. did u even get an email?" I reply yes and it stated if it wasn't available I would get a call, I got no call. She proceeds to check me in and enters my information as Tyler Adams with an AZ address when my name is in the appointment information and I'm standing in front of her in NC. She says the mechanic won't be in until Monday. Monday comes and I call for an update and they put me on hold and never return. I call back and they advise they will call before end of day to let me know what's wrong. I get no call so I had to rent a car. Tuesday comes, still no call from them. I call and no one answers so I go up there around 4pm and had to wait 30+minutes before being acknowledged. They proceed to JUST inspect my car for the first time. They tell me what the issue is and say they can have it ready by 12pm Wednesday because I have to return the rental at 1:30pm on Wednesday. Also state they'll call when done. Wednesday comes, no call again of course. I go up there around 12:15pm and my car is in the same spot untouched from Tuesday at 4pm, they hadn't begin repairing or servicing my vehicle. I have my 3yo daughter with me at this point & no rental now after I was promised my vehicle would be done by 12pm for a fuel system cleaning and spark plugs!!! It's no way that should take 3-5 days. After other customers hear that my car has been there since Saturday and start looking at them suspiciously, they get right onto my car and mysteriously finish in 1hr but charged me over $300 in labor costs. This place is fine if you need an oil change, inspection or minor repair. I suggest you make an appointment prior to do anything otherwise you could be waiting for hours. Anything other than above the usual I would look for another facility. Unable to put six tires in a 1 ton dually, said they don't have a lift big enough (apparently they do not use hydraulic Jacks), but only advised this after my husband called for tire recommendations, paid for the tires and scheduled the appointment. He didn't find out they wouldn't do it until he arrived at scheduled appointment time. I had an oil leak on my vehicle, along with a check engine light. I figured I would take it here because I've gotten my oil changed & state inspections for the last four years and an a/c repair completed here and have had no problems. I was advised to have a full diagnostic reading performed which would pinpoint the cause of the check engine light would run $99 but it would give me the specific problem(s). A few hours later I get a call saying they won't do any repairs because of the age of my vehicle (2007) and that it has most of the original parts, which they didn't want to risk breaking, along with so many other codes & repairs they suggested I go to a dealer. I go to pick up my vehicle and they had provided five codes, three they couldn't give a description on (see photo), but of course charged me for the full diagnostic. I ended up taking my $4000 repairs elsewhere (see other reviews if you need a facility that can manage all of your auto repair needs, and another for tires) which was ten miles away but worth the difference in distance. The only thing keeping my review from going lower is that over the years the staff has been friendly, and again, for oil changes and state inspections I never had an issue. read more

I called on wednesday and scheduled an appointment for Friday 8 am. I gave the associate all my info including make,model ,year trim and engine. I asked how much the oil change only would cost and the associate quoted me $33.71. When I arrived Friday at 8 they had 3 oil changes scheduled for the same time slot. The associate told me it would be 50 dollars plus tax and fees. That is a classic bait n switch. Even when I explained to him about the previous quote he insisted it would be 50 plus. I immediately went to the Ford dealer and got "the works" for 39.99 plus tax. Very poor business practice. This would have been the second of many transactions with Firestone. read more

I went there to get my state inspection - had a 2:30 appointment. After about 45 minutes, one of the mechanics informed me that I needed a $14 tail light but they were out of stock. I agreed to wait the 15 minutes they said it would take for them to go get one. About 20-25 minutes later the manager, Robert McCachern, informed me that because they exceeded the quoted time that I would not have to pay the light bulb costs. I was happy with that deal since I hadn't even noticed the time (I was handling other business on the phone). At the end of the transaction, I was also given the manager's business card with a note on the back that said my next oil change would be free. Whoot, whoot. Visited on a Saturday and was told it would be about an hour and a half for a state inspection which is completely understandable since I did not have an appointment. Made an appointment to come back Sunday and provided all of my contact information as requested. When I arrived Sunday at my appointment time, the individual working was in a heated discussion with a woman as she was walking out of the door and then decided to complain about her after she left. I politely said I have an appointment for a state inspection and was rudely told it would be at least an hour and a half to two hours. The individual basically said they get backed up, sh!t happens and get over it. This happened to be the same thing he was yelling at the woman about as I was walking in. I understand that delays happen but you had my contact information so you could have called and told me to come later and at the very least you could have been polite and apologetic. Asking someone to hang around in the garage for several hours is bad customer service especially when they had an appointment. It was also late enough where they were closing soon and I probably would have waited only to be told sorry that they were closing and didn't have time. I would never come to this establishment ever again and will make it very well known to everyone I know that coming here is a joke and a waste of time. I do have to say that the gentleman that helped me on Saturday was very polite and professional. The obnoxious and rude guy who helped me Sunday should be fired immediately. read more

I had a slow leak on Saturday figured it was a nail dropped off my car was called a short time later and was advised nail was in the side wall.. And as we all know this is irreparable. I was quoted $189.00 ($201. after taxes) for 1 tire. Something didn't seem right I told the tech to put the tire back on the car. I drove to a small business owner who sells tires. The gentlemen removed the tire sprayed it in front of me to show me the nail (which the flat part was clipped) which was dead center of the wheel, and totally repairable. The tire was plugged in less then five minutes for $15.00. Problem solved!! read more

I called to verify if they did free brake checks the guy said yes over the phone, I got there and the guy behind the counter tried to charge me. Once I stated that I spoke to someone stating it was free and it's all over the website he ended up making up some sort of story as to why they usually charge people. So as scheduled I had an appointment for 3pm got there it was packed there wasn't one seat to sit in so I had to stand. I was fine with that but being that 30 minutes passed and my car wasn't even touched by a mechanic just made me take my business else where. Moral to the story is don't let these people get over on you there's plenty of professional mechanics in the area. Won't be going back there. read more

Horrible experience. The man behind the counter seemed in no rush. Finished the paperwork he was working on then asked what I needed help with. Then I sat here for 30 minutes before they took my car in for an emissions testing... Sat here... THEN a lady comes and parks behind my car to get her tires filled. She never came inside was just inconsiderate but they did help her. Then after she left they moved my car. My cars hood had been shut the whole time the lady was parked behind my car. An emission test should take 10 maybe 20 minutes. I have been here over an hour. This is NOT a quick place to go and I will NEVER come back here again. My car has been done also for 10 minutes now and still no one telling me it is ready and that I'm done and can pay... Seriously... HORRIBLE experience.... I finally left an hour and 10 minutes after giving them my key... It has taken me tops 20 minutes in the past at several other companies to get my emissions done. Don't go here! They will rip you off! My brakes were making a strange noise so I took it to Firestone to have them check it out. I just wanted them to check my brakes because I needed to get to work and did not have a lot of time. There was only one customer waiting before me. They ended up taking an hour and a half checking my brakes. (They went ahead and checked just about everything else on my car and found these minor problems that I could have taken care of myself.) But back to my brakes...they said it was the calipher which needed fixing and would cost me close to $700! I called my father instantly and he said that was way overpriced! I even called a smaller shop and they said the same thing. This place thinks they can rip me off just because I'm a female! The man I spoke with could not even look me straight in the face as he continued to list the other problems and the highly overcharged prices! He had the guiltiest look on his face! I asked for my keys and left, took it to the smaller shop I mentioned previously, and had it repaired there. It wasn't even the calipher that needed repairing! It was just the brake pads and rotor. That only cost me a little over $200. My car has been running well since. So, no thanks to Firestone, for lying to me and trying to rip me off! I'm sad your business has no ethics.... read more

Crooks and liars. Went to them to fix a slow leak on one of the tires they sold me about a year ago that was still under warranty. The leak showed up just after I got these tires, and I've had to refill them about once every couple of weeks or so. Annoying, but liveable. I was told that even though they were under warranty, there was a nail too close to the rim and that they couldn't fix it without charging me $40. I thought that sounded shady, especially since I've had this problem for as long as I've had the tires, so I took it to someone else who was appalled at the poor condition these tires were in. Not only are *all* of the tires they sold me a year ago in terrible condition, there was no nail *anywhere*. The person I took it to doesn't even sell tires, but he was willing to fix the leak for much cheaper than $40. Not the first time I've thought Firestone tried pulling the wool over my eyes, but this was the first time I had proof. Do *not* trust these guys! read more
