My daughter came home with a nail in one of her brand new Firestone tires. I brought it in to Firestone and was told they could not patch the tire and needed a new one. I was told the nail was in an area that was too close to the side and began giving me tire replacement options(of which didn't include the same tire). These were new Firestone tires that I'd purchased from Costco. I then called Costco where we bought them from and made an appointment. I took the car to them since the tire was under warranty. They quickly informed me that the nail had not punctured the tire! I didn't need a new tire nor a patch! Firestone lied to me! They didn't look at the tire and only wanted to sell me one! This store is lacking a lot in the training/management area. They couldn't find my tires, then showed me someone else's tires that weren't mine or even the same brand, which I think they would have put on if I said those must be it! They found them then asked if I ordered 3, after I mentioned ordering 4. Took another 20 mins to find the 4th... it was an hour of just standing at the counter to even get checked in. The employees need better training so they can do their job adequately, including customer service (don't answer phones and schedule appts while helping someone = further delay). This place was a nightmare and it seemed everyone in the store was dealing with a similar mess of a situation. Not to mention how long their services take, as they are probably overbooked and understaffed. Go elsewhere! read more

Had a service appointment for an alignment at 9:00 in the morning. It is 12:40 and they have not even started. When asked no idea when it would be done. The person said he didn't have a car matching the description- and I pointed to it in the lot and my keys that were behind him on the counter for 4 hours. I'd sooner sh*t in both hands and clap before walking back into the Salisbury Firestone again. I would NOT recommend this location to anyone. I only come here for alignments as I have a lifetime alignment through the company. I will drive all the way to another location for now on. I dont even trust them to do my alignments now. I have noticed vibration that's been getting worse and got new tires the previous day and wanted to do an alignment and figured I'd have them take a look since I was already there. The manager, George and a technician got in my car and took it for a drive after looking at it in the bay. George came in to speak with me afterwards and I was told I needed all 4 cv axles and sway bar links replaced and all 4 struts. I just replaced the 2 front struts, and I have not heard the typical popping associated with bad cv joints, just vibration. I was also told by George that all my cv axles were bent as well. The amount of force it would take to bend one cv axle is great. The probability of all of my cv axles needing to be replaced at one time is highly unlikely, and I wouldn't even have been able to drive it to my appointment. My vehicle has not been wrecked and is driven daily for work. I am in the vehicle 5 to 6 days a week for multiple hours a day driving. The next day, I got it on a lift at another shop and looked at it myself. My cv axles are not bent, boots are intact, and my sway bar links are fine, but my lower control arm bushings were worn out pretty badly. Between the two of you, you couldn't see that? Under recommended repairs, lower control arms are not mentioned at all. I feel like George saw a woman and thought he was going to easily make his monthly quota. The total I was quoted for all the bogus, not needed repairs, was $4000. I paid $12 for a joke of a vehicle inspecion/diagnostic. Totally untrustworthy advice and service. BTW, the $59 bulb replacement labor is BS. So are your prices for parts. $275 for a cv axle that you are purchasing for $95, and I could go to the same parts store you're getting it from and get for $145. That's quite a markup, and you're trying to sell me all 4 with labor cost tacked on? Don't go here for repairs. The manager is doing this and sh*t rolls down hill. Had his service advisor write up the invoice for him, but George was the only person I spoke to that day about my vehicle. I wonder how many people you've scammed out of money and/or asked if they'd9mm like to apply for a store credit card to pay for it. Always get a second opinion when it comes to major repairs. Bought two new tires at Firestone about a month ago and had to come back today cause the TPMs stem was no good ? I don't really understand except they fixed it. I was really disappointed that we just bought the tires an are already having problems with them. On the bright side they fixed it free. So there's that... It's hard to trust mechanics... just saying . They also charged us for an alignment and couldn't complete it stating there was a problem with some part they couldn't get off. WARNING make sure you ask if they can properly service your car before you get work completed. Needed a new battery. Called 3 different places & told they couldn't because they didn't have the functionality to reset my cars system after the battery was replaced. Firestone replaced the battery. Never indicated they were unable to reset the system or that I would have issues. 3 days later I'm being told they don't have the technology to do that, I have to go to the dealership. They should have told me they couldn't help. It's costing me more money than it would have if I went to the dealership to begin with. Will only return for service if I have issues with the battery. Had an appointment for a tire change, front desk worker confidently said to come back in an hour and it would be done. I returned an hour and a half later to see the car was untouched in the same spot in the parking lot. When I asked a different front desk worker about it, she lied and said it was in the back being worked on until I pointed to the car in the parking lot. Had to ask for updates continually. Though I tried to be as understanding and kind as possible because I know things happen, she was extremely rude and passive. No apologies, unhelpful, treated me as an inconvenience. When I say I was in a bad situation, and this Firestone came to my rescue is an understatement. My car was shaking and the check engine soon light came on blinking. I had never experienced that. Luckily I was near this place and Caesi was a sweetheart from the beginning. I came in a couple minutes before opening and she assisted me right away. Not the way I wanted to spend my Monday morning, but appreciate the help. She explained to me exactly what was wrong and all of it made sense. My family has used various Firestone locations over the past 15yrs. We switched to this one 4 yrs ago since the Ballantyne location became poor on services. Over the past few months this location is doing the same. We used to be able to make an appointment and know the car would be done when promised. Now promises are phony. Last month I dropped off the night before and asked for and inspection and oil change to be done by 11am. Picked up the car at 330! Today the same. Prior night drop off and needed by 11am. Called them at 1118am and was told to pick it up in 30 minutes. Got dropped off at 1230 and told my ride to leave since it's ready. Went back inside and was told the inspection was not yet done hand they're bringing the car in now. That was 45 minutes ago and my car still waits. They are giving me the oil change for free but why can't they be upfront and just say your services will take all day? Not coming back. Update: 3:50pm. not only was the inspection not done but the alignment too. Still stuck here. Folks in waiting area not smiling either. read more

Before we take this any further, it's so important to know that this is so unlike me. I'm never one to file a grievance. But when my head hits the pillow tonight, I'll be able to sleep soundly. And if I can help anyone sleep else sleep soundly, then I'll consider this a success. Being new to the area, I don't have my car place. You know, the one where you go and make friends with the tech and you have that banter so good they give you a headlight for free but you tip them anyway. That kind of place. Needless to say, no banter was had here. I brought my car in a few days ago and had to leave it over night. I asked for a quote before any work was done. The next day, they called me with a quote. It was a pretty penny let me tell you but it had to be done. I go to pick my car up, and after being told my total was going to be roughly $450, you best believe my surprise when i found out it was closer to 600. Now I know what you're thinking. That's only a $150ish more. It's the principle or the thing. There was an additional cost for something that was not clearly communicated. After dishing out the money, I walked to my car to be greeted by GOO GALORE all over my car. For $600? They couldn't wash it off? Then, I noticed something else was wrong. When I brought this to the tech's attention, they offered to undo what they had done (bc that apparently messed it up) and refund me. Fine I said. Fine it was not. After another 40 min or waiting, they magically fixed my car without reversing the work they had done like they said. When I asked if my car would run okay, they shrugged. As someone who has a long history with multiple firestone locations and thousands spent within the franchise, I made an appointment for tire rotation and oil change for 1pm. At drop off I stated I would be back by 4pm . Upon return after Uber to and from shop I find the car in the same parking spot. After asking if it had been brought back the only thing said was they were busy and could get it back next . No apologies given from store manager that was in conversation . I've come here several times for everything from checking tire pressure (which they never charge and don't seem bothered by) to having my brakes done. As a single female who admittedly doesn't know much about cars, I can say this place is amazing and made me feel comfortable every step of the way. I was concerned about the cost of replacing my brakes, and they were so patient and understanding. The even price matched a competitor that quoted me lower (this is obviously a case by case basis, so don't go in saying "oh my cousin joe can do my brakes for $50, so match that"). Dennis, the manager, was so kind and professional; as were Kyle and Jesse. Feedback on car care businesses are always so polarizing. As someone who manages a fleet of about 20 vehicles, I can tell you this from experience: If you had a negative visit, it happens. If you had an outstanding/amazing visit, it's not going to be that way every time. This goes for every service center, not just Firestone. What separates the good ones from the bad is typically the leadership of the store and their staff. This Firestone is where I go to get my company vehicle serviced for tires. I've got a list of 4-5 companies I can go to but Firestone seems to be the best in the area. Much better than a dealership experience. It's easy to set up appointments over the phone and for the most part communicate what you need done or what tires you want ordered. From time to time I'll call them for a tire rotation as the store is only a mile away from my office. Trust me, if you're looking for a car care center that does everything perfectly every single time, you're going to have a bad time. There's just too many variables in this business to expect perfection. That being said, the guys here are great at what they do. When I order tires I get an accurate estimate on their arrival. I typically drop my car off in the morning and have someone bring me back in the afternoon. While there have been a couple mishaps with service times and waiting periods, it's nothing a little bit of patience would remedy. Overall I think Firestone is a notch above most service centers in the area. Definitely better than most dealerships! Super bonus addition: It's funny as I had this written as a draft, yesterday they told me that my right-front tire was super bald and needed to be replaced ASAP. Today it blew out a mere 1/4 mile away from home! The girl who was talking to me had actually said she was surprised it hadn't blown out yet. This is a huge oversight by my on-site maintenance company (and partially myself as well) but it's just funny how Firestone hit the nail on the head. I needed an oil change and tire rotation this morning; I noticed that there are TWO Firestone stores on Park Rd., within 1/2 mile of each other. I stopped at the "other one" first, as it was the first one on the left as I drove south on Park. It took 10 min. for someone to come to the counter, only to tell me that there is a 3.5-hour wait for any service. I promptly left, and went to this Firestone, where they immediately took my car in, and in one hour, I was back in my vehicle, on my way. Plus, you can have breakfast at the Park 51 Cafe, right behind them, while you wait. What a great deal! read more

A very trustworthy car place in my opinion, something that can be difficult to find. I called ahead one Sunday morning because they were one of the few places open and I needed an oil change. They said to come right in and it would take about an hour. After hanging out for around an hour I wandered over to Bojangles and got breakfast, then over to Aldi and did some grocery shopping. It took about 2 hours, but I didn't really have any complaints because they didn't try to oversell me. A few months later my car was rattling and I took it back. It took about an hour for them to look at it and tell me that I needed my engine rebuilt and needed to take it to a Chevy dealership. They didn't charge me for a diagnostic and seemed to be empathetic for the impending death of my car. read more

My car wheel was making a dreaded clunk clunk clunk, it sounded like a CV joint problem. I dropped it off, they called me later and told me my car had different size tires on the back and they needed to be switched to the tune of $19.99!!! A dishonest mechanic could have taken me for a CV joint ride, but not these guys!!! An added bonus is, if you drop off your car, there are plenty of places to walk to, even go to the movies. The customer service I experienced was awesome-- everyone, especially Nate, was great to work with.
