This is my 2nd trip in the last few months; trust me nothing they did was wrong whatsoever. 1st visit needed a tire replaced and should have done all 4 but didnt (my bad) so the 2nd trip was to finish the job. These folks are super courteous and very timely. Waiting area is great to allow me to open my laptop and work or sit in a comfy chair and watch satellite tv or just pass the time on my phone. Tires are reasonably priced.. the reality is my tire is just a wee bit on the expense side, but my car is deserving. Check this place out.. you wont be dissapointed. read more

John and Alan at Firestone have always been professional and courteous with us. They have to be the bearer of bad news sometimes since both my wife and I are trying to make our cars last as long as we can but we keep coming back because we trust them and don't feel like we're getting screwed. There are cheaper auto shops out there but it can be a crap shoot. If you live in the area you should check them out. I am currently writing this review as I am sitting in the waiting area. I am going on my 3rd hour for a simple check of the alignment and brakes. It took 2 hours just to get my car in to check the alignment, when they said it would be 30 minutes. I'm still not sure if they have checked the brakes yet and Lord knows how long that will take if they need to do any work on those. I have pretty much wasted my whole day. I told them I wanted to wait and see, because that seemed like the reasonable thing to do. I wasn't sure if any work needed to be done, so I figured before I arranged a ride to pick me up, I would wait to see the results. Well now it is 3 hours later and I don't know about the brakes. Not a good way to spend a vacation day. I called them at 11:00am and they said there was no wait. So they need to get organized or tell me up front. There were 3 other people waiting with me for well over a couple hours as well. People recognize they are being tardy, but doesn't say much for their service. Worst Criminals Ever!!! $3,853 for an exhaust repair? They wanted over $2,200 for a catalytic converter. I found the exact same part for $400 retail. Of course, they won't use a part that doesn't come from their warehouse. WTF does their warehouse do that makes a catalytic converter worth over 500% retail price?!?!?! I also blew $85 for them to tell me what I already know and to quote a ridiculous price. I got the $3,853 repair done for just under $1,000. Never again! read more

Good for a cheap oil change--that's it. tl;dr version: this place is slow, prone to overdiagnosing problems, and not good for much more than tires/rotations and oil changes. I went there for an oil change and jogged back home to get back to work. Took them 4.5 hours to call me back. Fortunately I am able to work from home, so no issue there. The service advisers are really nice here. I've worked with Nigel and Karl. Both great guys. Unfortunately, that doesn't compensate for the apparent incompetence of their technicians. I drive an 11 year old Explorer -- not exactly an esoteric automobile. Being an 11 year old car, the oil filter adapter gasket has cracked and leaks oil in very small amounts (about 1 quart every 3 months). The oil sprays and cakes EVERYWHERE in the vicinity, particularly on the driver/left side, where the filter is on the car. When I came to pick up my vehicle, I was told that the left rack and pinion, front end differential, and left CV boot were all leaking and needed varying levels of service. I declined, brought the car home, looked underneath, and saw oil splattered everywhere, including the parts they mentioned needed service/replacement. Funny enough, all of the oil splattered on those parts matched the viscosity, color, and odor of that splattered around the filter. Doesn't seem like much of a coincidence. 1 of 2 things is going on: the techs are incompetent and can't diagnose something as simple as an old, brittle gasket cracking; or they're out for a buck by any means. Went there because they are on recommended list of TireRack and they are inexpensive compared to others on list. I had an appointment and confirmed it the same day. It should take 1 hour to change 4 tires, balance them, and do an alignment. I gave them 2 hours and came back. It took almost 3 hours and they didn't get to the alignment. If anyone has ever sat in the lobby of a auto care shop you know its like getting a root canal. OK... That would warrant a 2 or 3 star rating to me. BUT, then the next day there was a leak in one of the new tires (obviously a valve not on quite right.) I called them up -- it was a Sat. They told me they needed 2 hours to fix it. I explained it was their work and they said they were swamped. So we made an appointment for Monday (2 days later... with a tire leak that was their fault.) Instead I found a GREAT local auto care place (Alternative Automotive on Oak Lawn) and they took care of the problem for free and my alignment within 45 min, no appointment, on a Saturday. I can not recommend this Firestone but I can Alternative (I just got back from them and am writing this.) So... 1 single star. read more

Took my car to get an oil change and state inspection (only took it here because we bought the tires so rotation is included). Was told the car failed the inspection due to tires that "all measured "0" at the outside. I looked at the tires and the grooves at the exterior looked okay, certainly not 0 . So I measured them myself with a tire gauge and there were all at least 3/32", mostly 4/32", and were not worn down to the tread wear indicator ("wear bar"). One tread wear bar on the front right tire was pretty close, but even in that case, there were not two wear bars in contact with the road at "two adjacent major grooves in the center or middle of the tire" (quoted from the DPS requirements). I returned the car and asked why it failed and tried to explain my case. The condescending, rude employee would only say "are you an inspector?" No, I am not, but let me tell you that any layperson can understand the requirements and my tires met those requirements - you're not some highly qualified engineer or rocket scientist. Ultimately, his response was just "well, we failed it" and basically told me to pound sand. What a coincidence that the tire shop failed the tires at the inspection - they had a new tire quote ready for me and everything. I took the car somewhere else the next day, with the same tires, and it passed inspection without even a mention. Firestone would not refund my inspection fee that they improperly failed in a ploy to get me to buy new tires. Total scam artists. read more

The definition of great service is immediately figuring out the issue and without an incredible amount of stress for your customer, just get the issue fixed. Simple, no? Thanks to an unprofessional experience at the Discount Tire on Inwood (see my reviews), I ended up here at Firestone to see if they could diagnose and fix what was wrong. Casey in front and Alan in the bay were amazing. I couldn't ask for better people when it came to being helpful, knowledgeable and efficient. Not only did they confirm that Discount Tire had improperly balanced my tires, but that they likely knew about putting on a factory-defected tire onto my vehicle. One of my wheels had a bubble in the sidewall and as it was only 2 days old with no impact damage, it was clear that the techs at Discount Tire didn't do their job safely or properly. A tire in that condition won't balance. Ever. While Firestone couldn't completely fix the issue, as one of the tires needed to be changed out, they did go above & beyond to make the situation better. They earned my future business in doing this. Highly recommended. read more

A couple years ago, I went here for an oil change and was told my battery needed to be changed; I had them replace it. When I got home I looked under the hood to see how much I got overcharged for the battery as opposed to doing it myself. I noticed that the battery I had was different than the one I was charged for. Same brand, different model number. Oh...and the model in my car was a cheaper version...imagine that. So I went back and addressed this with them. They verified their 'mistake' and said they currently don't have the model I paid for in stock...what a coincidence. Either they were scamming people intentionally, or some guy in the back fucked up. Who knows how many people didn't check their battery model number (who would??). I told them I hoped this wasn't a scam and if not, then at least the employee that made this error would have the issue addressed with him. This is where it gets good...the dude I was dealing with, naturally red-faced guy with slight eye-bulge issues, probably a life-long alcoholic, said 'YEA. WE'LL TAKE HIM AROUND BACK AND SHOOT HIM'. What a dickwad. I never went back to this or any Firestone after being a member for almost 15 years. I hope that guy is still working there, hating life and hitting the bottle, hard. read more

Exceptional service. The store manager and the technicians went far out of their way to help me get my antique Fiat in good working order so that it could pass safely inspection. Pricing was almost ridiculously low and the staff was absolutely over-the-top in their willingness to help find the correct tires (which were not available in the US) and get them fitted and to get other items on the car up to snuff. Given the weirdness of my car it would have been very easy for them to simply say that they didn't have the parts / experience / equipment to work on it, but instead they did the job well, even re-printing the inspection certificate just because I was worried about a correction on it. I would recommend this place to anyone who values honesty, integrity, fairness, and a job well done by real old-school mechanics. read more

He got me pricing quickly and was even going to go pick up my car from Pep Boys, but when I called to let them know I was having someone come pick up my car they had just started on it. I came here at the beginning of August to get an alignment on my Hyundai Genesis Coupe and I purchased the lifetime alignment package, they were not able to 100% align my car, there was an issue with needing camber bolts (something of sorts), they told me they aligned it to the best of their ability and would call around for the part needed and call me back. 1 month goes by - no call, so I called them, they said they would call me back, and never did, I called them one last time, and received no response. A few more weeks go by, my fiancé calls, and we are still not able to get it resolved. Finally today I went to the Firestone in Mesquite and they were able to resolve the issue. I think these guys in Dallas were honestly just being lazy, I will not be going back to that store. read more

Went in because I had low tire pressure light come on. The front desk clerk advised it was a 5-6 hour wait if I wanted to drop it off. Seriously, to check the air pressure. Went to the Firestone down the street and had a completely different experience....they told me to pull into the bay, one of my tires was short of air, aired me up a bit and even replaced a tire cap that was missing from a tire. My husband and I have gone to this Firestone for a little over three years, and have been happy with the service! I have an old '96 4-runner, which at this point gets more bad news than good news, but they're always honest, helpful, and cut us a deal where they can! Its hard to argue when your factory parts are falling apart after 20 years. We've mostly dealt with John, Alan, and Casey, who are always great! These guys destroyed my 2003 Honda Accord. I have been a customer at this location for years. Their technicians are very rude. My 2003 Honda Accord never had any oil leaks, I sent the car to them 3 times only for the condition of my car to worsen. I am currently attempting to settle the damages through claims which is approaching 2 months to simply speak with a Firestone representative. It seems Firestone doesn't want to settle my claim by not returning any of my calls. I have had to replace my car as the engine and transmission were starting to give me problems. Got there to fix 2 flat tires, they told me it would take 1:30 hours to start working on it (understandable since there were several people in the waiting room), left the truck there and went away (leave close by, no point on waiting there), little over that promissed 1:30 hours i get the call that truck was ready, time to pay... 3 digits bill, was when i realized that instead of fixing the tires they replaced for new ones, when alerted for the mistake they promptly start doing what i initially asked for, but i had to wait 1 hour for it, (at this time the waiting room was being used by me and another person) and probably would wait more time if i didn't stand up and walk to the counter catching them thrue the windows chatting, when they saw me standing "by coincidence" the truck was ready. Time to pay $42 to fix for 2 flat tires. Thank you but no thanks, first and last time visiting this shop. read more

I stopped in this morning before work and their inspection guy had not arrived yet and wouldn't for another 40 minuets. On September 5, 2019 I brought my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee in to the Firestone location at 6615 E NW Hwy, Dallas, TX 75231. I brought it in because it was showing the same symptoms as it was doing on May 21, 2019. This is less than 4 months apart. Each time before bringing in I would run a diagnostic test and the first time in May it was showing a misfire in cylinder #2. I took it in and they said I needed a new spark plug. I had them replace all 6 spark as my vehicle is a 6 cylinder. I went 134,326 miles on the original spark plugs. I wanted the same OEM spark plugs but of course they try to up sell me but still decided to stick with factory standards, I'll come back to this. The cost for this $558.32. A cost I was perfectly fine spending. On September 5, 2019 I dropped my vehicle off to learn that it is a misfire in cylinder #6. I had driven approx 20,000 miles in that time span. They said all spark plugs had gone bad and needed to be replaced. I'm not a professional mechanic but I know spark plugs shouldn't go out after 20,000 miles. This is when the shop decided it did not want to accept responsibility for anything. I was told I put racing fuel in my vehicle... since when do people put racing fuel in a daily commuter vehicle.... first excuse. Then they told me I should've purchased the upgraded spark plugs... last time I checked the originals went over 130K before going out... second excuse. Then they brought up the one year 12K mile warranty for their service... I get it and I understand about a warranty but also understand spark plugs don't go out after 20K miles. So they are wanting me to cover the note and it's actually over $620 this time for the exact same thing. This shows they do not stand behind their work and have horrible service. The only customer service here is when you are giving them money. I had been coming to this location for any of my car needs since moving to Dallas. I've also recommended friends and also brought my girlfriend when she needed a complete brake job done. I was needing other work but I'll be finding another shop for my car needs while also steering others away from here. read more

Mounting of Tirerack tires experience adequate only... No-one at counter for several minutes upon entry and return. Casual attitude to finding your tires in the rear receiving area unnerving--had to show TireRack invoice to ensure correct tires fetched. Tire pressure clearly not correct and had to be adjusted - time-consuming. Dirty finger marks left on internal door handle. Wheels covered with finger prints necessitating car wash visit -- why not quick clean them before returning vehicle? Unlikely to recommend (except on basis of price) or return. Worth paying a little more for peace of mind elsewhere? read more

I had a great experience here one day when my brakes were out. I had to leaking brake lines and they got it done in a few hours for $180! Including the bleed job. My brakes have been fine ever since. The guy that did th work was Bill Skupien and he was VERY helpful and explained everything to me and what to expect etc... He's ASE Certified as well and they had free coffee , TV, magazines and a place I could plug my laptop in. Great job!!!!! And I'll ask for Bill nxt time I ever need help here. read more
