Do not under any circumstances allow these people near your car. Went in for an inspection and they failed it saying I needed new tires for $1000. They also "confiscated" the Temporary Inspection Certificate issued by the NYS DMV claiming it was "illegal" claiming the issue date was the expiration date and not even acknowledging the "issue date" clearly shown in the certificate. The tires in question had 20,000 miles on them with an 80,000 warranty. They were horrible and bullying. Went across the street to Mr. Tire and had an inspection certificate in 15 minutes - no deficiencies noted. Was also treated with respect and courtesy there which was seriously lacking by the Firestone employee. One of the worse retail experiences we've had in our lives. read more

Disappointed and felt taken advantage of. My car needed new tires, wheel alignment and control arm bushing in the back. I was willing to open a credit card w/ my services, and trusted everything my technician was telling me (a little too much since I'm a woman with 0 car knowledge). I was quoted $340 to replace all 20 lug nuts, when you can easily buy them for under $40 and replace them yourself or take them to any other shop which charges $75-180. So I declined on that, as per someone's suggestion (thank you!). When installing my lug nuts somewhere else, my technician showed me the rear control arm and only the driver's side rubber was torn. Took it to the dealership that same day, they also confirmed it was only 1 damaged bushing. While they RECOMMEND doing both, since it won't be long before the other breaks, they were kind enough to give me an option. They didn't blatantly lie. Went back and checked my paperwork, in case Firestone made a mistake, sure enough it says "Both lower rear trailing arm bushings are torn" It may seem like a small issue, but what was the point in trying to milk an extra $300+ out of me when I was about to pay $2k+ in services + I said I'd open a card? Not to mention I would've needed more work eventually and been a loyal customer? Makes me feel like I won't be taken care of if the repair is done incorrectly, or what else was I quoted for that I didn't need? Hard to trust. Glad I went elsewhere because I got the same tires + alignment at a better rate (Thanks Pep Boys). Paid more for the bushing at the dealership but at least I have peace of mind that it was done correctly. Unfortunately not my first negative experience with Firestone, the location in Niagara Falls didn't do my oil change properly. Had to take my car to another shop, which confirmed. The NF Firestone didn't even give me an invoice (said they'd email it, but never did), and forged my signature for the invoice when I finally filed a dispute with my bank lol. Thought that one location may have been untrustworthy, but here we are. Plus side-- Maurice my front desk advisor was very cool and helpful. Only part of my experience that wasn't shitty or a total waste of time :) Hoping he wasn't in on me getting ripped off with the bushings, and that was just limited to the technicians themselves. read more

I sent my wife here when her car had a slow leak in the tire and needed the AC system charged. I get a call from her, 3 hours after her appointment saying that it was $1300. They told her that her car needed ball joints and that the parts were only $37. Low and behold, they hit her with entire control arms, adding well over $800 to the bill. I called to talk to the service writer who claimed they went over the pricing with her beforehand, but there's no way in her right mind she would agree to that, especially knowing it's something that I would do myself. Now I have to take my time to tear the front end of her car apart to see what this shop's $16/hr mouth breathers messed up, because I certainly wouldn't want a tire shop doing control arms on my car. read more

Let me start off by saying that Firestone as a company and a brand gets 5 STARS. I've been using Firestone winter tires for over 15 years, I've used their Bridgestone tires on many of my autocross and track cars, as well as their larger off-road tires on my Ford Raptor. I know people who work for the company in the factory and they love their jobs. Great company . THIS car care center however, gets 2 stars. Mainly because of the current management and the lazy technicians. I had a simple 2-wheel alignment performed on my Silverado after installing new controls arms, tie rods and mounting bolts and wasn't very satisfied with it. My wheel didn't point straight when the alignment was completed and there was way too much play on the left side. I was told there was nothing they could do aside from replacing the most expensive part of my steering system (which I knew wasn't true). Yesterday, I found 3 out of 4 camber bolts were loose, along with both tie rod locking nuts. An overall lack of care for the work and for the customer by the manager and the technician. I also made this appointment days in advance, showed up on time, and still had to wait an hour and a half to get my truck on the alignment machine. I took it to an alignment shop and they were able to get everything pointed straight. I've also now had 2 techs test and confirm the expensive steering gear isn't faulty. I called Firestone's 1-800 number and spoke with their customer care team - they were fantastic. 25 mins after hanging up with them, I received a call from Firestone's area/state manager and he listened to my issues for nearly half an hour and was extremely responsive, understanding and really gave a sh*t. He also issued me a full refund over the phone at the end. I've had lots of luck with the Firestone on Maple Road in Amherst, they aligned my Raptor and M3. Lots of local autocrossers and track day people get their lifetime alignment, which is an absolute steal of a price. I'll go there from now on if need be, this one was right up the street from me at the time. I'd recommend that location over this one any day. read more

Just came in for an estimate. Had a muffler that had the pipe broken off of it. The service cost for estimate was $15 ... now I get it they had to put the car up on a lift. But there are other places that do this no cost. Their estimate for the muffler was over $1300 because they advised the converter had to be replaced. This was not the case. They simply did not want to cut the old muffler out and replace it, they wanted to buy the entire flange to flange component that included the converter. Local Muffler shop estimate : $279.00. Plus tax. With a free estimate..... You tell me why the one star rating firestone. Very disgusted at your willingness to screw the consumer on thus one... good thing i know a bit about cars. read more

STORE MANAGER IS NOT CUSTOMER FRIENDLY if after he says your car is fixed and it's not . I brought my car to them bc the check engine light was on. When I first brought my car in, I told him that we had a diagnostic test done and he said he would have to test it with their diagnostic system. Their diagnostic test said something different. They told me they could fix it and charged me $480.00. The day I picked my car up I didn't go 2 miles and my check engine light came back on. My car has been in and out of the garage three times still not fixed. This was back in August and into Sept. The Store Manager told me he'd refund my card he hasn't and it's been three weeks. I've called him four times since then Once I was told he was off the other three times he was with a customer and would call me back he still hasn't. He finally calls me back after my husband called to ask them why his brakes are squeaking they rI've called the corporate office three times and have gotten nowhere. TodayI called for the fourth time, and I was told my case was closed. I had to take my car to another garage and &186 later my car is fixed and the check engine light has been off. read more

They are very slow, have "fixed" my breaks but I had to go back the next day because they were done incorrectly. They also wouldn't let me bring in my own part which was $200 cheaper than the same part they were trying to sell me! What a rip off. read more

I cannot say enough about this establishment. Not only were they open and able to take me on a holiday. I came with a coupon and they offered me an even better option without trying to upsell me to anything. Their office staff was kind and thoughtful. Terry, at the desk, was absolutely delightful. He chatted up my Mom and I in a very friendly, genuine way. When I picked up my vehicle the man that must have taken care of it came running out as I was getting in to let me know what he did and how the light sensors may be resetting themselves just in case I see but that I'm all set. They were attentive, timely, and kind. There were no hanging faces to take care of me on Labor Day. I was so impressed with their service that I ended up sending them lunch the next day from a local restaurant. The restaurant called back to make sure that that's what I wanted to do because the guys that work there didn't want to take something that was meant for someone else. :-) They are truly a great team. I found my new place to go. They beat out my dealership by 2000%. I would also like to add that they are very customer service oriented inside the waiting area. There are new magazines that seem to interest variety of people. They had a large charging station with every adapter you could imagine for your cell phone, the bathroom was clean, the coffee was hot. What more could you ask for? Oh yeah, they had cable TV and they leave the remote control for the customer :-) great job Firestone!! I'll be telling everyone I know. read more

Definitely check on their website when you pay because they have a special price that is lower than the price they charge. They gave me the quoted price I found online. I brought my car in last Friday For a inspection. I purchased my car through a dealership one year ago. I have had no issues what's so ever with the car, or the brakes or the steering! I was informed from the staff, that the following would need to be done in order to pass the inspection! Struts and rotors needed replaced. Front end alignment The following needed to be done as soon as possible: 2 new tires Water pump Wiper blades With all this work we are looking at 800 to 1000 dollars! I contacted my dealership and showed them my invoice and told them about the failed inspection. At this point it is clear the staff at Firestone we're trying to get money out of me, for stuff that did not need to be done! My mom's '95 Honda Accord didn't pass the NYS safety inspection last Saturday because both front signal light lenses were broken. The firestone male mechanic told me he could order the dealership parts for $240 plus $95/hr for labor (1/2 hr each light he said) totaling $335. I asked if he could order used parts from somewhere like a junk yard, he said the car is so old and there's not many of them, "you probably won't find one in the area. And if you do, they'll charge you about 70% of the new dealership price, saving you maybe $20" I declined the offer, then told my male co-worker abt it on Monday. He said "No way. Buffalo mechanics are so shady! ... Come here." And he looked up the brand new parts on Amazon for $14.00/pair (+$11 shipping) and showed me a youtube video on how to replace them. All i needed was a phillips screwdriver. The parts came in yesterday, I bought a screwdriver for $5 and BAM, changed my front signal lights all by myself in less than 30 minutes.. Total expenses came to $31. That's over 90% savings!!! Firestone just lost this female's business. I recently had to have all 4 tires and an alignment done on my car, which is a 12 year old vehicle with 90k miles on it. Being from AZ, and knowing that the right tires are very important during the winters here but not knowing anything else, I went to Firestone and fully disclosed that and that I am a single mom with a tight budget. Scott, the tire manager explained everything very clearly to me, gave me all of my options and the reasons behind them, and basically whether or not it would be worth going all out on the 'best' (priciest) tires. They inspected the car and helped me make the best decision for all of my needs. The tires and alignment were completed, Mike and George did a great job, my car feels like it's brand new. I pulled into the hobby lobby parking lot (about a 3-minute walk away) and someone told me I had a flat tire. I had a spare and a jack but the lug nuts wouldn't come off. I walked to firestone and Rob drove out with a bigger jack and wrench and changed the tire for me FOR FREE. He made conversation and was so polite and pleasant! I've been taking my Dakota to this location for over 2 years. The crew that worked here previously was top-notch, and really made me feel like they knew what they were doing, and they were fast. As such, I didn't mind what I felt were overpriced parts. Recently I took my truck in for steering problems - the truck would intermittently turn hard, sometimes barely at all. After being told the power steering pump was good, I was charged $500+ (parts + labor + a few other things) for an intermediate steering shaft. Fair enough - online research showed that's not uncommon for Dodge Dakotas. Within a week, the issue resurfaced, this time with my wife driving, and she barely made it home. When I took it back, they came back saying the power steering pump was in fact to blame, and wanted to charge me for the replacement. To me this is not acceptable, since they assured me a week prior that this part was OK. So after some debate, the shop reluctantly agreed to eat the cost. They called back later saying the pump was not the problem, it is now the rack (rack and pinion). At this point I had had enough. I asked them to put the truck back together and I would pick it up. As I was out of town that day, I came in the following day, and was then told the truck was not ready - it was leaking power steering fluid. Humph. I picked it up later that night, but it was making a high-pitched whine that was not occurring previously, and a day later I noticed power steering fluid in my driveway. As a side note, looking at my receipt later showed they did not replace the pump. A week later, the truck is still in another (reputable) shop. They have reported excessive damage due to hammering on the shaft that exits the power steering pump. They are also telling me the rack needs to be replaced. When all was said and done, I think Firestone did eventually diagnose the correct problem (rack, or so the current shop believes). However, how a shop does business is just as important to me as the work it does. Their unwillingness to admit fault, apparent inability to deliver the vehicle back in its original state (which to me indicates untrained/unsupervised mechanics), and eagerness to charge for the first thing they came across rather than diagnose the root cause (which this shop has done for me before) all contribute to my decision to not return to this shop again. read more
