I was about to take a trip cross country. They inspected, gave me new brake pads and a new belt. After their service my brakes were still shaking the same. My check tire pressure light was on- it wasn't on before. This was bad work on their part. It got worse. I realized they left a wrench on the outside of my windshield. Then while driving down the highway my boyfriend started hearing a new noise. Pulled over on the side of the road and realized after 30mins or so that the lug nuts were hand loose. One wheel almost fell off going 75mph. Could have rolled my car, it could have been fatal. We were 30miles from the nearest gas station in the middle of Nebraska at 11pm. Store manager refunded half of my purchase and said that was all he could do. I wonder what he would have done had we crashed. His largest concern? Getting that wrench back. It was by luck we realized the problem was the lug nuts. No one thinks of a mechanic messing up something that obvious. If you choose to take a vehicle here, make sure tools aren't on your windshield waiting to impale a driver behind you, and that your wheels get tightened. I can't speak for issues others have, but have been to this location several times (most recently today). The value I find is the tire prices are fair and slightly flexible. I don't haggle, but they seem interested in giving you a good deal. Another thing I appreciate is they are working people schedule friendly. I've come in late in the evening and had a headlight replaced and been able to come in on a Sunday (my only day off when others are closed) to have the majority of my work done. The lobby is clean and they have a phone charging station for anything you might have (photo attached). The guys taking my work order are always nice and helpful in getting exactly what I need done conveyed to the service technicians. Some of the prices are slightly higher than other places, but in my case, I trust these guys and am paying for the peace of mind knowing my truck will be fixed and paying for the convenience of them being open around my tight schedule. read more

Low balled to come in. My vehicle was in for a different repair at my regular mechanic who told me I needed brake pads and rotors turned. I thought he was kinda high ($630.00) on the cost so I shopped around. Firestone came in the lowest ($464.00) of the places I called. Dropped my vehicle off for brakes at Firestone Ft. Collins. Then comes the upsell call...I need 4 new rotors (ya right) to a cost of $960.00 but wait that includes air filter, cabin filter and a whole lot of crap they want me to pay for (i.e. Shop supplies $23.00) that I did not ask for. Are you kidding me? I told them I'd be there in few minutes to pick up my vehicle. Story short, I ended up at Brakes Plus. I did NOT need rotors. They were able to turn them like my mechanic said. Total cost $424.00. *****FIRESTONE = RIP-OFF. STAY AWAY FROM THERE !!! read more

Slid on ice and damaged my axle (presumably.) I paid a towing service to drop my Jeep off at the Firestone off Mason Street in Fort Collins and was told to bring my keys because "the sooner the better and we can run that diagnostic for you and have an answer by the end of the day." Over 24 hours later, my car is untouched and ive been given the excuse of "we're just really busy." Excellent, but my car was there since yesterday morning, so don't keep brushing my car off. Being without a car is very stressful and trying to get to my work as a night shift nurse is even more so when the company I mistakenly chose cannot hold to their word on even a diagnostics let alone repairing my vehicle. I understand things happen to a point, but Firestone has made a stressful situation even worse by shrugging this off and acting more "ho hum, we'll get to it when we get to it." Will now have to waste more money towing to a different auto shop if they still haven't done anything after my phone call this morning. Do NOT recommend at all... very disappominted. read more

Dropped my truck off for new tires & brakes. They couldn't get my flat spare tire to drop so the gave up on me & did absolutely nothing more. Five minutes after retrieving my truck I had it down. TL;DR: Their work is fine, but they're seedy, untrustworthy, and don't have your best interests in mind. Shop from Discount Tire or Tire Rack instead if you need new tires/wheels, or King's Auto Center if you need other work done. They changed the oil in my car and it still runs, so they have that going for them. I brought my car in for the oil change knowing that it had low tread depth on its tires, and of course knowing that it had a spare tire mounted in one corner (as I had received a flat a couple days prior). I fully expected them to bring up the fact that I needed new tires, which was completely true. I had spent several days prior to this researching tires, reading over a dozen thorough, professional reviews and comparisons from websites like Tire Rack. I had carefully selected a new set of tires - Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 - which were top-of-the-line Ultra High Performance all-seasons with stellar snow grip for their class and good dry/wet performance, along with an 80,000 mile tread life rating. A couple tire professionals to whom I spoke confirmed that they were a great selection, so I put down a deposit to have them shipped up from Denver to be installed later this afternoon at Discount Tire. Firestone, of course, wanted my tire business, so they said they could beat that price including the oil change. I smelled a rat, so I asked if they were the same tires I had chosen (those Continentals), and they said no. I politely told them I wasn't interested then, as none of Firestone's all-season tire selection met my needs. The representative responded saying that Continentals were crap (which is an overgeneralization) and that they had poor tread life (also an overgeneralization, and completely un-true as these have some of the longest tread life in their class). I declined again, this time a bit more firmly. After going home, I looked up the tires they had wanted to install. They were Primewell Valera Sport all-season tires, a model from Firestone's "budget" brand. Every online review I looked at said were garbage, a waste of money, and that I should avoid them at all costs. One described them as "the cheapest junk tire you can buy" and another said, "I would not waste my hard earned cash on such a junk tire!" And these were somehow better than the ones I had carefully researched and picked? If you go here, prepare to say no to their upselling, or at least do research before you say yes. Better yet, go somewhere else. King's Auto Center does great work and is very trustworthy, and Discount Tire and Tire Rack are both better tire/wheel outlets. read more

Nothing frustrates me like people who don't do the job they're paid to do without being checked on. I came to Firestone tire in Fort Collins to have a tire replaced. I had unrepairable damage to a front tire. They replaced the tire, and left me with the new tire and an old tire up front. When i was settling the bill I asked if the new tire had been put in the back, thereby giving me matching tires in the front. NO. Seriously?! I'm a 57 y/o woman with no mechanical experience and I know these things. But I have to ask the shop if they did their job right? Do they expect me to go home and rotate my tires by myself? I was in town to sightsee and enjoy wonderful Colorado. I had my oil changed in my hometown before I had driven it to Colorado. The check engine light came on, the second day we were there. Found out I had no oil due to my oil filter not being put on correctly at home before I left. Took my car to this Firestone & they had it ready the same afternoon! We tried to rent a car & all were gone in the area. I just really wanted to thank Rick and his team for getting us going again so quickly! SUMMARY: Direct, Honest, Reliable, Communicative. The manager, Nathan, who has only been there for one month, was phenomenal! I walked in at 7 AM with no appointment. Nathan told me they were fully booked for that day & only had two technicians working that day, so he could not guarantee that they could inspect my squishy brakes and fix them, if needed, that same day. He said he would do the best he could to get it done. He called me that afternoon after they inspected our Jeep to recommend we go with the least expensive option, bleed and replace the brake fluid. BTW, this is our tow car, 2005 Jeep liberty with over 200,000 miles & in hot & humid Florida for most of the year. Nathan calls me again with an update, new road test after break fluid refill: breaks start off hard & then become soft. We discussed options & he gave me his recommendations. The deeper they went, more mechanical "issues" were exposed. The work was completed the next day. I wound up spending WAY more money than anticipated but I am a VERY HAPPY CAMPER! Safety is the most important thing for my wife and me. Nathan communicated perfectly and made adjustments as needed. read more

In general, Clay was amazing. On the other hand, I cannot say the same for Ms. Chavez. I brought my vehicle in for a tire change and alignment. After I recieved my vehicle back, it felt extremely unbalanced and was difficult to drive at high speeds. I called the location back, Clay was understanding and said he would get it taken care of on Friday. When I brought my vehicle back that Friday, Clay was not there, it was Ms. Chavez. She told me that she knew the technician that worked on my vehicle and the tires need 100 miles to break in. She did not even offer to look at it and assured me that the unbalanced/pulling feeling was just the new tires. (Keep in mind at this point I had already driven around 500 miles on these tires) Finally, I got her to pull the vehicle into the buiding to take a look at it after bringing a male to the location to speak with her. The car was in the shop for quite some time and she claimed nothing was wrong with it. Clay called me to follow up and bring it back in. He apologized and guess what? They found something! Shocker. It's funny how much ego can affect customer service. I appreciate how helpful Clay was. Being a young woman coming from the customer service industry myself, I am extremely dissapointed in how Ms. Chavez treated me. I am sorry to say that I will likely never return to this brand. Update: I sent an email within an hour after Firestone replied to my review. I added more details regarding the incident. They apologized, gave me a file number for the incident, and said the Store Manager would be reaching out to me within 24-48 hours. After 72 hours, I emailed them back saying I had not heard from them. The following day I get another apology. They said that the incident has been escalated and now the Regional Manager will be reaching out within 24-48 hours. I still have not heard anything 48 hours (from the last email) later. It has been about a week since my email and almost two weeks since the initial issue/complaint. So they will reply to their review to act like they care online when it is read by potential customers, but they really don't care enough to actually resolve issues. read more

Took my car here for a tuneup because of the Firestone name and they tried to sell me a bunch of stuff I did not need. When agreed to have them replace the spark plugs the charged me $60 for new spark plugs and $220 for labor. The guy actually worked on the car for about 50 minutes. I went in because my car had trouble starting. They misdiagnosed the problem and replaced the ground wire to the battery and then fixed my back light for $150.0. My car failed to start one week later so I had to jump. Then once I walk in the guy says, "okay, come in tomorrow and we will take care of you at no charge." So I show up the next day and the guy says, "oh yeah, it's your starter, that will be $360.0"! $220 for the part and 'only' $140.0 for the labor, which should take 1 hour. $140 bucks per hour? Are you serious?! I inquired about the "we will take care of you at no charge" and he said, "the inspection was free." After you guys misdiagnosed it, caused me hours in hassle. With a motto that says, "We fix it right the first time guaranteed" you would think they would do more for their customers after they screw it up the first time! I called around and found a place that would do it for $260. I have such a bitter taste from Firestones customer service that they will never get my business again. Ever. read more

I was in Fort Collins on a trip from Iowa when my car started leaking coolant all over the place and overheating. The first place I took it to thought they fixed it but didn't. It was Saturday - the day before we were supposed to head home and none of the AAA recommended places were open. This Firestone had good hours and was close to where I was staying. They got me right in and fixed the problem promptly and professionally. They even gave me a courtesy ride back to where I was staying. They were honest and personable and didn't take advantage of an out-of-towner in need. I would highly recommend them! read more

This Firestone is poorly run. The place kept telling when they would fix the flat tire I had gotten first two hours then three and finally pushed off completion til the end of the day. I come from a family that has used a Firestone franchise in Tucson, AZ for many years and never had any problems. Upon moving to Fort Collins we immediately made this our mechanic of choice. For routine oil changes, tire rotations and balancing these guys do just fine. Anything beyond that and buyer beware. On multiple occasions there have been multiple "problems" that they find in our vehicles as they dig into the engine. This is for two cars that generally run reliably and are well taken care of. It often just feels like an up sell. That being said here are my two real problems with this particular franchise. On one occasion I was told that a squeaky belt (that started after their work on the car) was because I had used some sort of belt dressing to mitigate the problem. When I told them that I don't do work on my own car the manger said to me and I quote, "Well we wouldn't do that." He stood their in front of me and implied that I was lying to him. That's poor customer service. On another occasion when we had to have the heating manifold replaced we were charged for labor on two parts that needed to be taken out for the normal repair anyway and should have been included in the cost of the suggested repair. This was after they recommended that I also replace the thermostat (an unnecessary repair). This resulted in over $300.00 of additional and inappropriate charges. The only way we got the money back was by having my father in law (who is a service manager at a dealership in Arizona and has been for 20 years) look at our bills and contact them multiple times threatening to report them for unfair and unethical business practices. Sadly, my experiences with this franchise has led me to strongly believe that this was not an oversight, but an unethical attempt to get more money out of us. I have been coming to this Firestone location for at least 5 years, bought all my tires from them, and received all basic services here for my last two vehicles. I have been reluctant to write a review, thinking that their service MUST get better at some point, but after realizing that I pretty much ALWAYS leave here feeling talked down to and belittled, I feel I need to say something. Scott, the service manager, has never been anything but rude, disrespectful, and condescending to me practically every time I've gone in. To see that kind of service come down from the managerial level promotes a culture within this location where employees treat customers like idiots. I find it so ridiculous that I can't go in for a simple tire rotation/oil change without leaving feeling like my visit was a complete inconvenience for them since I didn't choose to have them replace my wiper blades or air filters, or because I asked a simple question regarding another add-on service they recommended. I have been giving this place chance after chance for the past few years and am simply exhausted with the terrible customer service. I am leaving a good review for these guys. I talked to Rich the very first time I went to Firestone because my tire popped. I was at the o'reillys on harmony and college. We found out there my spare tire wasn't the right size to my husband and i went over to Firestone with the tire to get a new one on there. luckily the rim was the same size. We went back to o'reillys and the put my tire on. Coming home wanting to get a new set of tires the next day my battery died. The car was standing for about another month before we did anything to it we bought a battery and replaced it and drove to Walmart on mulberry to check out their tire prices. anyway after driving around a little bit and coming back home. the tire we got from Firestone popped..... they replaced it and gave be another new one plus 5 road hazards for a really good price. as of right now I am happy with their service and lets hope the tire doesn't pop again. I have had lots of popped tires on all of our cars and friends car the last 8 weeks. I am getting quite good and quick at replacing those myself by now ha ha. will go back to firestone for an alignment and tire rotation if needed read more

I've been here a couple of times, but not for anything major so I can't speak to their level of competency with engines. However, these guys are really accommodating, polite and professional and I'm going to bring in my Jeep for a tune-up and see how they do. If their mechanical acumen is as good as their customer service they may become my go-to place for repairs and basic maintenance in Fort Collins. A couple of years ago I went to the Ft. Collins location and was very pleased - I needed a flat repaired and they got me in right away and were very professional. So I sent my son there to get his car checked out before we drove it to college. Again, very helpful and professional. Since that time my daughter went there to get a flat repaired, and they were incredibly dismissive and condescending, as if she didn't know something was wrong with her tire. They refused to even look at it after testing the pressure because the pressure was fine (she just filled it before driving it in). So she took it to the dealer, where they promptly found a piece of metal in the tire and repaired it. This week my son took his car in to get an alignment check, and they called him and told him he needed all kinds of serious work done that would cost over $1500. He got a couple of other opinions and everywhere else said there was nothing wrong, that the problems Firestone said were there did not exist. You have lost my family's business. read more

I usually take my car here for the simple oil change, tire alignment, and rotation. I got tires from another Firestone, so I can get my tires aligned and rotated for free for its lifetime. They do a great job for me. They only take an hour or so when I schedule an appointment. I haven't had any problems yet. But the reason for such a low review is because of what I experienced with my boyfriend's car. We noticed that his low tire pressure light was on despite just recently refilling it with air, so we thought there was a puncture that needed patching. Simple tire job, so I recommended to him Firestone. When we got there, we were helped fairly quickly. But during the repair, one of the technicians accidentally broke the tire pressure sensor. They replaced it, thank goodness. But after driving around the recommended time and speed, the tire pressure light didn't reset. We called them, and they said they would try again to replace it. After this second time, again, the tire pressure light still didn't reset. I called them as soon as I tested out the car, and [the manager I believe] said that we had to take it to the dealership to get it reset manually. He did say that they will be reimbursing us, which is the first I heard that an auto shop doing this. A big plus! Even though we still are in the process of getting our reimbursement because we keep on missing the manager, at least this place is trying to help us out. I've been a fair number of auto repair shops, and this is one of the more helpful places I've been at. I wish we didn't have to keep on coming back for this one problem (7 times total so far), but it could be worse. read more

What a joke of a place, deserve no stars. Should have known better from the start. Called for a quote and was quoted a price then called back 10 minutes to schedule an appointment and was told that I was quoted wrong and there was an additional charge. Okay, mistakes happen as you are learning I thought. Was scheduled (or so we thought) for an appointment the next day, got there and dropped our truck off. We were told we were the first drop off, would take priority between schedule appointments (since they didn't actually schedule us like they said they had) and would be ready by lunch. We called after 1pm to check on the status of our truck and our vehicle still had not been touched. Picked it up because we had already driven back to the place and we live far away and had already wasted so much time waiting on them. When we picked it up, no words were said us. However the icing on the cake was the other guy behind the desk was talking to another client saying they were getting their walk in appointments out within 90 minutes. Liars considering our vehicle had been there for almost 5 hours, had not been touched and there was no explanation as to why. Don't waste your time. read more

This is a very disappointing review to have to make at this time, do to lack of "respect from management" who took it apon them self to disrespect several "customer's" this morning and yell at the customer's telling them that they will help them when they can! And management refused To hand over the keys to a vehicle because a customer told them that they were going to report the store to headquarters!
