This Firestone did an alignment check and was the only one of six I went to that did not try to up-sell me for unnecessary "repairs" (estimates varying from about $1,400.00 to over $2,000.00! I needed a simple oil change and drove on in. I figured I could just head over to the gym or the mall and kill some time. I start talking to the guy at the desk, telling him some issues and concerns about my car I had and instead of selling me this and that, he actually gave me some great advice and eased my worries. Told me some tips to save me money too. He said he would check some stuff in addition to my oil change and it took about an hour like he quoted me. Came back and was greeted by name, he went over some stuff they found and handed me the keys, I was good to go. It was a great experience, I will definitely go back (for more than just oil changes too) and skip the Grease Monkey fools. read more

This was a claim for me, so I called 1st to ask for a quote. Mike answered and he was more than helpful. When I showed up about an hour later, Mike was happy to print out a quote for me, absolutley hassle free. I then returned an hour later, after getting my quote approved and scheduled my car to be worked on the next day. Jimmy took care of me the next day, my quote was originally $390, Jimmy called me within 40mins of dropping off my car to tell me that it will actually be hundreds less! ($108) and that my car should be ready by the time Im out of church. When he gave me 2 other quotes of other recommended work, and I told him its a claim and that I am going to hold off on that work, he didnt make me feel bad like you would expect other places would. He called me later on to let me know the status. When I went back to pick up my car, it was ready , everything was ready to go! I was in and out within 5mins all 3 times I was there! They are SO great! SO courteous, honest and sweet! I really actually enjoyed doing business with them! read more

The worst experience by far, that I've had since being here in Washington. I'm not familiar with any oil places so I googled,"Oil places near me." I went on my lunch break and as I walked inside I could feel the atmosphere change. It was not welcoming at all. Both employees looked at me as I stood there. Since no wanted to greet me, I spoke out, "Hi, there." Finally the gentleman said, " I'll be there with you in a moment." Of course with annoyance in his tone as if I was bothering them. Remember I'm on my lunch just want to get an oil change. I ask finally about that service and i was told that they were book solid for the next three weeks. As I stood there shocked and confused I was like, "wow, three weeks just for someone to get an oil change." The gentleman stated "uh yeah, we are the best in the country, of course we are booked." Well, again I'm not from this area and actually have never heard of Firestone. I left immediately and went somewhere else. Take your time and look for other places. Never have enough techs on duty. You would think with the economy that they would be fully staffed. Long waits just to get simple things like a flat tire fixed. Tried to charge me to fix my tire even though I bought it from them and had warranty. Had to go get my paperwork out of my glovebox to prove it. We have had several cars through here with supposedly straight forward problems. Unpleasant mechanics with misplaced arrogance, and while it didn't happen every time I was particularly unimpressed with having to clean the steering wheel before I drove off. (Arrogant AND unprofessional).After repeated periods of time in the shop and ongoing failures to repair (but still charge) we took the cars elsewhere and found out that not only had the original issues NOT been correctly diagnosed or addressed, but amateur mistakes like cross threading hoses and punctures were seen in their work. (The puncture caused a secondary problem that I had to return with, as well as the original, but they were 'clueless'... It was picked up in the 5mins I waited in the local place I went to in frustration. One visit later and all my previous repairs were addressed. Permanently). read more

Avoid Firestone. I took my car here three times for an alignment, I had told them I hit a curb, and they took it back like it was no problem. When they were done they told me there was a vibration at 70mph, but the key here is that there are no roads within the mileage change on the odometer with a higher than 35mph speed limit(the freeway was slightly further than they had driven) which means they were doing 70mph on a 35mph road, awesome! Strike one. They had said they fixed it, then when I got back on the road, sure enough, exactly the same vibrations. I took it back two more times after this to fix it, each time they handed me a sheet with the same bad before numbers, and the same new "fixed" numbers, and each time nothing had changed with the vibration. I tried taking it to other Firestone's, two more in different locations, same situation. At the Renton location I left to eat while they worked on it, and actually drove behind the guy driving my car as he took off to at least 60mph, again in a 35. Later I found that I had a bent control arm from when I hit the curb(which you would think would be something they would check, as it's pretty common in that situation to bend a control arm), I replaced the control arm, and instead of wasting my time and putting my car and pedestrians at further risk by bringing it back, I just did the alignment myself. Unfortunately I had purchase the lifetime alignment as it seemed like a good deal at the time, really I was just throwing away $200 though. read more

If I could go less than a star I would. The service was poor at best and the work... I stopped in for a flat repair only because they were the only place open on Sunday. Bad mistake. Car vibrated like crazy after. Stopped by the next day to have the tire re-balanced. Fail-no change. Took it to Direct Tire the next day and it was as smooth as the day I bought it. Direct Tire was very clean and the service was good. Never step foot in Firestone again! read more

Wow... all I have to say is wow... 1 star is waaaay too many. So we come in at 3:55pm... wait around for 15mins for someone to even talk to, meanwhile our tire has a fast leak and is flat in there parking lot. Just our luck we get the manager "Dustin", he tells us that it's not going to be ready until 5:30pm. So Over an hour and a half to patch a tire. Meanwhile there is at least 4 to 5 people standing around in the shop chatting. So I say to Dustin is there anyway you can get it done sooner and he says to me if I wanna be rude I'll be lucky to have my car back today... this is the manager mind you. His name is Dustin. I can't believe people like this have jobs, I'm a manager and if I had an employee hold someone's property ransom and basically threaten them and their family that they won't be able to make it home tonight if we're rude to him I would fire him on the spot. Happy holidays to us, excuse me if I'm a little frustrated typing this, I'm today is my sons birthday and I've never been spoken to this way before by someone providing me with a service I'm paying for... unbelievable!! I've been a customer for years, but not until now have I been satisfied with the customer service . Before, I had experienced apathetic front desk staff and sloppy auto repair, I stayed away from the shop for a while just because my customer experience was horrible. I brought my car in last month last minute to solve a CEL and just today for another issue. Both times, I was able to get squeezed in and my car taken care of. I definitely can say David and Dave are part of the reason I have such a good customer service experience. Not only are they accommodating, they are so prompt in updating about the vehicle, and they are quick. Thank you again for taking care of me so last minute! Horrible experience. Never again! Highly recommend you staying away. They have no appreciation for your business. Go elsewhere. I have 3 vehicles and won't be taking any of them here. And telling my friends in the Seattle area to avoid. Tuesday at 5pm I made an online reservation for Thursday at 9:30am. Wednesday at 1pm I received an email that stated "Your auto care appointment is confirmed! Below are the appointment details for your [car]." I arrived at 9:15am. They said the firestone reservation system doesn't work for their location, never has. Okay, 1) fix it if you're aware of the problem, 2) call me to notify me, and ask if a long wait is acceptable, you have my phone number in your system from my reservation. At 10:45am I asked for my keys as my vehicle hadn't been moved. I'm taking my car to a manufacturer's dealer in Bellevue for a for full-synthetic change at $91 plus tax . Firestone was charging $99.33 before tax for a 4-cylinder full-synthetic oil change. Itemized receipt shows $65 for 4 quarts of oil. $5 for oil change labor. $3 for oil filter recycling. And $26 for an $8 oil filter. Wtf! And they charge you $5 at the bottom of the receipt for a SECOND time for labor. Two charges for labor. I never had them touch my car. Thank god. My time is worth more to me than to be wasted and unappreciated business income. My car is in better hands w a manufacturer's service shop, a company that's been around for 25 years. read more

We just returned from a 5000 mile road trip and I noticed that one of our tires was very low. I had purchased the set from this Firestone store so I called them to see if they were open. Even though it was a Sunday, the 5th of July, they were open. Mike told me to bring it in and they would see what was wrong. He was very helpful and they found a small nail that had been in there for so long that the rubber on the tire had closed over the hole. They had to take the tire off the rim and found the nail on the inside of the tire. I was only at the store less than an hour. I am very pleased with their service and would recommend this store to anyone. read more

I got a flat tire while waiting in the cell phone lot of SeaTac last Sunday (7/12). I called many places and this location was the only place open. I limped over on my spare tire and they told me it would take 2-3 hours, based on current capacity. Knowing that, I headed over to Starbucks and settled in for the long haul. I got a call about 30 minutes later letting me know that they had found a screw in my tire and were able to simply patch it. I only had to pay $30 instead of the $130 that had been quoted to me for a new tire. They easily could have just replaced the tire anyway (I never would have know the difference...) but they had a very high level of integrity and value for my time/money. I paid and was out of there with ease. I appreciate the staff's willingness to explain the options to me even despite how busy there were, and never made me feel stupid for the questions I was asking. Thanks for saving my day! read more

Three weeks ago I bought new wheels and tires for my car from Discount tire and had a great experience there. I needed to have a wheel alignment done so I took it to Firestone. I had made a 3 o'clock appointment but when I got there the salesman complained about being overbooked,and it was going to take over two hours for him to get my vehicle done. While I was waiting I listened to the salesman upsell customers, if you didn't know what you were doing they could probably sell your brand-new car. He told one person over the phone that they needed the radiator flush, their brake fluid had traces of aluminum in it and their brake lines needed to be flushed, and their battery terminals needed to be cleaned. He warned that the corrosion could "eat through the battery cables." Cleaning the battery terminals is as simple as cleaning a dirty dish a good mechanic would have done it as a courtesy. When he finished,I drove my car home less than a quarter of a mile and parked in my driveway. The next morning when I got up, my tire was flat. I took my tire off and what I found in the center of the tread was a tiny pinhole puncture with a pebble jammed in it. The first thing that came to my mind was what are the odds, which were slim to none. Although I have a full coverage certificate through Discount tire,I took my tire back to Firestone because I had a feeling that they had something to do with it. The first thing the salesperson tried to do was sell me a new tire that would cost me over $300. If I had driven it any further I probably would have ruined both the tire and wheel but since I only went a quarter of a mile it was fine. I knew that but they didn't know that I knew that. I told her that if that tire needed to be replaced discount tire replace it for free, and I need them to fix whatever it was they did to it. I knew what was going on but I didn't have the time to watch it play out so I demanded that they fix my tire for free, and they did. If I had driven on that tire any further I would've probably needed a new rim and tire which would've cost me over 800 $. I can imagine that someone less experienced probably would have taken what they could get in the process of avoiding making a scene or accusations. The lady standing next to me spent nearly $900 for work done to her vehicle, and she stood there smiling just as proud as Jack after he traded his cow for A handful magic beans. the moral of this story is It's okay to do business with those who capitalize on the misfortune of others that's how we survive, but beware of those capitalists who create the circumstances. read more

This guys are scammers - Mike and David/Dave. I work close to this place and I scheduled an appointment to get my "engine light" fixed two weeks ago. After inspection, they found that the problem was the Thermostate - it was not working well. They said they would fix it for JUST $458! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I may not be an auto-mechanic but I have just about enough knowledge to know how much much repairing a thermostat should cost. Funny thing is I decided to not get the service and asked for a document showing what the issue was. They solely obliged, and on it they said the estimated cost of repair, tools, and labor was just $113! They knew if I took that paper to some other mechanics it would be embarrassing for them - goes on to show how much extra money they were trying to scam on me. I bought the part and replaced it myself for less than $30 dollars in 30 mins at home. Lessons: 1) DO NOT GO HERE, it's a business and there are plenty others you can choose from 2) DO NOT GO HERE, especially if you lack working knowledge of your vehicle 3) AVOID this place. oh forgot to mention: Dave/David had agreed to do the inspection only for $65. He ended up charging me $129 (including $29 for oil change). I did not see this until I got home, and when I called them they would not refund! read more

Stay away from this Firestone Store. The manager is completely incompetent and dishonest. I had my oil changed there and paid the invoice at the time of service. When I received my credit card statement three weeks later, I found I had been overcharged by $17. Incidentally, my Firestone invoice reflects a $17 credit for work not needed. The credit was never processed by Firestone. I came back to the store to get the problem resolved. The initial employee was helpful and quickly recognized Firestone's $17 error as I showed him the invoice and the incorrect charge on my credit card statement. However, when he asked his manager for advice on issuing the credit, the manager claimed he didn't have the money to refund me. He claimed my bank had made the billing mistake. I wrote a complaint to the national Firestone website and 24 hours later, this same manager called me to refund my $17. I will encourage everyone I know not to visit this business. Based on some other Yelp reviews I've read, I can see that other potential customers were met with the same rude treatment I received. read more

My husbands car was stolen and we took it to this Firestone to get it looked at. The store manager himself spoke with us after having the car there for a few hours and told us that we would have to first pay him a 55 dollar fee for looking at it, which is understandable but wasn't made clear enough in the beginning. I was pretty sure that i knew what was wrong with my husband car, being a bit of an auto buff myself. The issue was that his ignition lock was broken so the car stayed in the on position and would not turn completely off. All we had asked for when we went in was to check and see if the ignition lock being on would affect the cars battery life. I did not think it would but after talking to Shawn, he made it clear that we would need to replace the lock in order to stop the car from draining the battery. Now mind you, the service manager was also up front at the time and he looked at me as the store manager was speaking and I just knew that Shawn was trying to take me for a ride. So I declined the service and we went home with the lock broken and saved ourselves around 250 dollars, which is what it would have cost for the South Center Firestone to fix it. Also, we took the car to a different Firestone, the one in Redondo Washington for a different issue a few months later (the battery was never affected by the ignition lock, lying git) and they fixed the ignition lock for free and didn't have to replace it, funny how that worked out. Go to the Redondo location, it is a bit out of the way but the service is sooooooooo much better. read more
