This First Choice Communications is the worst company to ever do business with! I was promised all these great deals that turned out to be untrue! I was pressured into signing up by Curtis at the Phoenix Home and Garden show on 10-19-2018. They took $50 cash and I was told if I cancel before the installer came out that I would get my $50 refunded in two weeks. After leaving the home show I felt like I was promised the moon to sign up with them and I started feeling uneasy about my pressured decision. I called the next day to cancel. I was told that I would be refunded the $50 by mailing me a check within 2 weeks. Since then, I have cancelled with Curtis, Johnathen, and the manager Sal twice! They continue to call me to install Direct TV even though I called to cancel several times! I'm still getting the run around about my $50 refund! Run don't walk from this company!!!! I write this hoping that at least one person sees it before signing up with this incredibly fraudulent, despicable company. How this company is still in business is TOTALLY beyond comprehension. I was approached last year by a sales representative who sweet talked me into signing up so I could save money on a TV/internet bundle. I don't need fancy TV. I just like my local line up. I was paying Comcast $18 per month for TV, but they didn't want to charge me less than $90 for my internet service, plus the fees and cost of equipment rental. So after watching years of AT&T commercials boasting $30-40 per month internet with no hidden fees, I was interested in hearing more about finally getting AT&T internet in my area, and how a new package deal would save me about $50 per month, plus give me a little more TV than I already had. I was told I just needed to wait about 2-3 weeks for the internet service to be installed in my neighborhood, but signing up today would give me priority on the list. Being in a good mood that day, I say "sign me up!" DirectTV was installed that night, and I was told they threw in the DVR and a few extra cable channels for free because they brought the wrong box. WOW!! Lucky me!! My total monthly bill was supposed to be around $70 per month, which was exciting since I'd been stuck paying a little under $120 with Comcast. He filled out the contract an added my ATM info for auto payments. I was going to be charged a $99 fee that would come back to me with my first bill. This young buck then proceeded take my financial information and help himself to my bank account. Once I checked in with my bank, I immediately dug for his card and started a heated text exchange asking that he return the money. He swore it was an accident and was beyond apologetic, and that it would get right back to me. I gave him one day. When I woke up the next morning, I saw that we had achieved $600 worth of $99 transactions taken out. I called headquarters in Arizona. Long story less long- This sales rep was fired, a police investigation was opened, and I was told I would be taken care of. I was also promised a $100 gift card for my trouble and my $50 reimbursed for the installation. They also told me that my area had ZERO plans to offer the internet service, so now I just wanted out. I wanted my overpriced Comcast internet service back. I wanted my cheap TV back. I wanted this whole thing done and behind me, never to talk to another sales person ever again. When FCC headquarters started dragging their feet, or possibly figured I'd just gone away quietly, I went to AT&T directly to see how to get out of this. They not only confirmed that we wouldn't be getting their internet service in my area, but that I was now roped I to a contract that was going to give me only DirectTV for $50 per month, and getting out of it was going to cost me about $600 to buy myself out of this total and complete FRAUD of a contract that *technically* I didn't sign up for. So no internet, no cheap TV, and no gift card. Nothing but monthly charges I don't want to pay, and now, a ding on my credit. No one has called me back in months, despite countless messages left. Direct TV themselves are absolutely no help whatsoever. Fed up, I went rogue and returned the equipment and told them to cancel me. You'd think that after hearing my story that they would give me a pass and out of a contract that I signed that was clearly fraudulent. STAY AWAY, RUN AWAY! We were at the LA County fair in California when we stopped at booth. Should have researched before I gave cash $50 for installation. I did t want to get be cash and asked to do deposit in card and they said they have no way of running credit cards. Clue #1 not to continue with service. I then asked husband who was standing a few feet away talking to his fellow friends of the local police dept. his friend said I would not continue with it and walk away. And I should have listened. I set up for the security system to be installed on Tuesday from 8-12pm husband takes a day off to make sure all his questions are answered and nobody shows up not even a phone call. No call Wednesday for an apology. I called Friday morning to speak about a refund and that person was busy they would call me back. When I got into contact with them that afternoon I was told protocol does not allow refunds and I asked where in the contract does it say that. It doesn't that's our protocol. When asked to speak to someone above him he said there is nobody and we will not give you a refund. He told me to hold on but forgot to mute the phone and began speaking to someone and made jokes about the phone call and when he realized he didn't mute it said oh shit and muted. When he came back he repeated he doesn't give refunds and refused to give me his boss's name and number and I knew this wasn't going anywhere and told him I will call back tomorrow to straighten the issue. If they can't follow through with an installation and this is their customer service hate to see what the rest of the company is like. Never again get a service at the fair. Like so many previous reviews, I wish I had looked up these guys before signing on the dotted line, but also like most, was at a home show where I didn't have that liberty. Good ol' PETE, yep, watch out...lots of promises, sadly little reality. I was at an RV show with my new motorhome that a previous owner had just installed a state of the art DIRECTV dish on, so I was sort of "stuck" to go with them, knowing full well that ALL satellite and media providers have a pretty low customer satisfaction rating. I had my best defense mounted and asked VERY specific questions. My BIG issue was the fact that I needed to use this receiver in BOTH my motorhome and house, which I TOLD them would require a dish install at my home. "NO PROBLEM...that's always FREE!! When you get home just call us and we'll schedule the install" So I called 3 TIMES, got a different answer every time and then was told "Sorry, we're in Phoenix, you're in Tucson. We don't install down there. Call DIRECTV and they will schedule you" OK, great...after 3 attempts dealing with the automated system, and broken English customer service reps, I had my install date :) Installer shows up and tells me that this was supposed to be a "service call" to help me hook up my receiver. After he called DIRECTV to change the work order to an install, I was handed the phone and told (again in broken English) that this was a "Mover Package" and I'd be charged $199. NO THANKS, told the installer to leave and I called PETE directly. After a few minutes of "memory refreshment" he finally said he remembered me and that he would call MIKE, the owner to fix all of this, since MIKE was also at the point of sale and had approved the Tucson install. Of course MIKE was at the SUPERBOWL (probably spending the $$$ on seats from all the people that have been lied to) so couldn't deal with it right now. OK, fine, have him call me. Next day I call back, ask for MIKE, am asked who I am, and now he's in a meeting..... Lesson learned: Had I done this in reverse and used a LOCAL contractor, I wouldn't have to post this review. The sales rep lied about install fees, who he worked for (claimed to be a corporate Directtv employee, what package I was going to receive, promised a discount on my AT&T service which was never delivered, offered to bundle billing for my Internet when it's not possible to do with the provider I had. This was after trying to sign me up with a different Internet provider that only offered 10mbps when I already had 50 and told him that wasn't enough. He did not care about what service was right for our family, only cared about the sale. SCAM ALERT!!! DO NOT SIGN UP FOR AT&T/DIRECT TV Bundle with this company! On 06/16/19, we met with Sales Reps Joey Parrish and Cory (Supervisor) at the Del Mar Fair in San Diego. We were quoted and entered into a contract to switch over to Direct TV and AT&T Internet for a bundle price of $83.00/month for the first 12 months then the price would increase to $133/month on the 13th month for the same TV/Internet bundle. Upon receiving our first full bill, we were charged $164.69. Both Sales Reps had provided us with their phone numbers so we contacted them multiple times - each time being told they didn't have their computer with them but they would look into it. They verbally confirmed the quoted price of $83.00 for both TV/Internet. After feeling like we were getting the run-around from both Joey and Cory, I contacted the company First Choice Communications, LLC which was listed on the bottom of the carbon copy of the contract we signed. On 07/31/19, I spoke with Adam Evans who identified himself as the Supervisor. He said he would have to pull the contract and contact the Sales Reps and get them on a conference call if they gave a different version of what occurred. Adam said he would call me the following day and asked me to email him copies of the documents we signed, which I did. After not hearing back from Adam Evans, I called him on 08/05/19 and he advised he spoke with the Sales Reps however he was not able to change the price. He said the contract indicated we would be paying $83/mo for Direct TV and Internet would be $40/month. (Not only was this not what was quoted and we agreed to via signed contract, but even if that were true...it still does not amount to $164.69!). I asked who the CEO of First Choice Communications was and Adam advised it was Kristal Jackson. I asked to speak with her or leave a voice mail message and was told she was not available. Adam said he would give her a message to call me. Upon researching this company online, I learned their accreditation with the BBB was revoked on 03/20/19 due to legal actions taken against them. In 11/2018, the Company, including Kristal Jackson, were named in a Civil Lawsuit brought forth by the State of Iowa. A ruling against the company required them to pay a civil penalty to the State of Iowa. If you pull up the company's website, it states, "CUSTOMER SERVICE IS OUR PRIORITY - At First Choice Communications, LLC we have succeeded because of our attention to detail and customer service. W hold ourselves to the highest standards morally and ethically, dedicated to giving each of our customer [sic] a personalized experience. Our knowledgeable product staff will be able to set you up with the best in entertainment, plus internet and wireless. Contact us today and see why others rave about us - we can't wait to chat with you." Additionally, it states, "LEADERSHIP VALUES COMMUNITY - Our leadership team is dedicated to inspire enthusiasm within our team and customers. This is a very dishonest company. At the Orlando Home and Garden Show in January 2019 I signed up for Direct TV. I was promised high speed internet. I wanted to leave a $50 credit card deposit, but the agent Mickey and Andre Nagel insisted on cash. After talking to my neighbors, I found out that high speed internet is not offered where I live. I called to verify this and cancel my installation. I was promised a $50 refund within 2 weeks. It is over 2 months now and I still have NO refund. I telephoned 866-223-4732 and spoke with Adam, Bree and Sergio several time. Bree said she would call back with a tracking number for my refund last week, but she never did. You are under pressure by their promises of savings and gift cards and you do not have time to check Yelp. The same sales pitch as described by others here- U-Verse is discontinued, this offer will save you $70 a month (it does not) etc. What a mistake! Bottom line: They robbed me of $50 "expedite fee" which I didn't even ask for. "Must pay this in cash. Don't worry, you'll get $150 gift card, so you come out $100 ahead!". There were 3 of them handling this. The Sales Manager was Antoinne Shuler, his assistant Taniesha and one other guy. My condition was that I can cancel the order if they cannot reprogram my (very) expensive Universal remote, As I do not wish to have to deal with 4-5 separate remotes to control my media center. Fair enough, they said. It will cost you 99 cents to cancel. Ok, I said. Sure enough, it turned out their tech knows nothing about this control. I cancel the order. I have had an extremely bad experience with First Choice. The installer was great, but he never mentioned an "equipment warranty" that would incur a $7.99 monthly charge. I was not aware of it until they started to automatically charge my credit card every month. I called them and had a couple of very unpleasantly frustrating conversations with them, where they spoke to me like I was the problem. I finally had to argue with them in order to cancel the warranty. After I cancelled, they continued to charge my credit card without my authorization. I called to request that they refund these charges and they told me that I had never cancelled the warranty. I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone. Seriously?? I ended up having to cancel my credit card and report First Choice to my credit card company in order to dispute the charges and get the refund. This company makes me want to quit Direct TV and NEVER use their service again. If Direct TV uses this dishonest and rude company, then how honest can Direct TV be? Makes me wonder. The Assurance settles allegations that the business made several misrepresentations to customers, including falsely representing to customers that the price of merchandise would be lower than what was ultimately billed and saying that customers could switch TV providers for free, also that the company failed to provide Iowans with a three-day notice of their rights to cancel. Under terms of the Assurance, the business was ordered to notify the Attorney General in writing five days before returning to Iowa to sell its product. The business was also ordered to pay the state $5,000, follow Iowa's Door-to-Door Sales Act and not make misrepresentations to customers. Century Link is the worst Internet provider I've ever had! They keep turning my megabytes per second down in order for me to upgrade which I refuse to do. Especially given the fact that I had no problems with the Internet when I first got it. Now I can't login with two cell phones and chrome cast! I spent over an hour on the phone with them yesterday and after being transferred to five different departments the 6th department hung up on me! I will be switching soon to a different carrier! I don't recommend anybody use CenturyLink ever! read more

Beware of hidden charges and lies!!! A door to door rep for FCC set me up with directTV. Upon installation, I was asked if I would like the Direct TV protection plan. 3 months in I was seeing a charge of 7.99 NOT from Direct TV but from FCC. Of course I also saw that I was getting charged 7.99 from DirectTV for the protection plan. I called FCC and they said that I had actually agreed to their plan AND DirectTV's and that these charges were non-refundable because I had signed the agreement. If the installer is selling it as DirectTV's plan AND it's strategically the exact same price, I can only imagine that this is an intentional way to squeeze some extra bucks out of the customer. Add to it that the installer placed the dish in a spot that was not correct AND didn't brace it down. A week later another installer had to move the dish to the other side of the house and had braced it correctly. They also said that they would cut the buyout check for me from xfinity and when I called today, they said that they only reimburse. Once again I was lied to. The pricing was all correct and ultimately was a better deal... BUT it's been 3 months of phone calls to get what was originally agreed upon ACTUALLY communicated to DirectTV and Centurylink (who packaged the internet). read more

DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!! Unfortunately, I went with this company before checking them out on the Internet. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt, but when I was told she would call me to set up the Internet account, I waited 45 minutes and no call. So I called Direct TV directly and set it up myself, and then CenturyLink and canceled my order with First Communications. She did finally call me......an hour and 45 minutes late. I figured if my first experience with them was like that, I might never get the Internet installed - like some of the other reviewers. They lost my trust when the salesman told me they were a member of the Better Business Bureau - "Yeah - I have the sign hanging right here on the wall!" Not true, per the BBB's website!! read more

I was at the home a garden show and walked by their booth, I listen to what the gentleman has to say and decide to switch from dish to directly for 2 reasons. 1. The price 2. The recording options. They also had offered to payout any existing contract I may have. After the paperwork was filled out the manager David came over and offered to call dish to cancel the service for me to avoid the long phone call. When I called him to cancel he jumped right on and handled it within 30 mins. I enjoyed my experience with them and their GREAT Customer service. read more

This has been the WORSE experience ever... was currently with COX Cable no issues., went to the San Diego County fair and a Senior Account Executive Pete Martinez greets us at his booth. Want to save money, who doesn't however did not know that it would be the worst experience ever!!!!!! Pete went on BLAH BLAH BLAH... oh he says you will never have to go through the call center in the Philippines because I am your personal rep... BLAH BLAH BLAH all lies.. After THREE HOURS on phone on three different occasions to a CALL CENTER in the Philippines not able to understand a word they say. And this is because Pete my personal Rep won't answer or return my calls. The only thing that he promised that was delivered but not really, was the Direct TV was installed the next day, however because the internet is a totally different thing it had to wait to be installed, and that held up the Direct TV install. So we had to still keep COX cable and after the internet service was installed the installer said to call him back out and he would hook up the Direct TV.... a bill came from Direct TV for 60.00 but no service.... called Cedric in Mesa AZ and he was very rude and when I asked to speak to his supervisor he told me he was the top supervisor and no one else is above him... BS just like the BS from the sales guy Pete.... and ATT said that I am no longer able to bundle my service and charged me a $99.00 install fee and sent me a bill for it to automatically come out of my checking account...I called Cedric again, he said oh that is not my department you have to talk to the NET department they will call you... still waiting about 6 hours for the call... So as of now I am getting an attorney involved because everything on the contract has not been fulfilled. VERY UNHAPPY!!!! This organization is fraudulent. I paid a $50 refundable deposit for Direct TV installation at the San Francisco Auto Show in November, 2017. My wife and I cancelled the install after reading negative reviews about roof damage due to shoddy installation work. I have called the company every week for eight weeks requesting the refund, which Ryan, Sean, Adam, Sung, Bree all assure me is forthcoming. Now I see that their license to operate in California was revoked in 2013, and an Administrative fine was imposed. How they were cleared to work at the Auto Show is a mystery. Signed up for Directv service through these jokers at the Alameda County Fair. They gave us a great deal but the sales guys weren't able to answer simple questions about internet speeds included in their bundle and didn't know what a HOA was. This should have been my first clue that they didn't know what they were doing. I took the time to look up my HOA rules for dishes, made multiple phone calls and ensured that yes, they could strap the dish to my chimney and the installer would be ok with painting the straps assuming I could provide paint and rollers. I also asked what would be needed to be done to move from my existing service to the new service and got the run around. The day of the install rolls around and (pleasant surprise) the installer shows up right on time. I let him in, and hung up on my conference call and then had to wait for him to finish playing with his phone before we could talk about what was going to be done. Once he was done on his phone, we started talking about the install and checked to make sure he understood that he would need to install the dish using straps on the chimney. According to him, he wasn't told anything about needing straps and that no one had strapped a dish in 8+ years despite having gotten confirmation that they could do it the day before and I have multiple neighbors with dishes in my complex. He said he didn't have straps and that someone else would have to come out to install since he didn't have straps and then just left. No goodbye, or call xxx to reschedule and appointment. Nothing. I called First Choice and asked what the next steps were. They put me on hold, called the installer and said the only way they could do the install was to screw the dish into my chimney which I had already explained was 100% not allowed by the HOA and if they couldn't do that they wouldn't be able to perform the install. I told them to cancel the order and I would keep my current service. I decided to follow-up directly with Directv and received confirmation that they could 100% strap the dish and they asked a whole bunch of other questions regarding the installation that the people at First Choice never considered. Lesson learned, from now on I'll deal directly with the company than using a reseller. read more

We were approached by what I now know to be sales people from this company at the Arizona Home and Garden Fair. Before I go on, let me make one thing clear. I had been prior to meeting these folks contemplating switching to Directv for quite some time because a) I was curious, b) I disliked by current provider (Cox) and c) I had friends who were long time customers of Directv and highly recommended it. Also, I am now still a Directv customer and really happy and would highly recommend Directv. A big part of what we discussed with these people were important deciding factors for us in deciding to jump on and do the change. But much of it turned out to be false promises: - they could not handle a simple task of working with us to schedule an install date, they lied about how soon they could install - they lied about the equipment we would get - they lied about how much of an early termination fee they would pay (even though I had it in writing from their own staff) - they did not respond to phone calls well and when you did get them on the phone they were extremely rude and dismissive and were very clear that they did not want to bother with me and tried multiple times to get me to hang up. - they lied about the services that the tech would do when he came to the house These people introduced themselves as being employees of Directv which only after the fact I learned they were not. They basically will say anything to get you to switch. I did call Directv on two occasions when I was trying to resolve things and the person I spoke to was extremely professional and was a big part in including other higher ups who apologized for the bad service we had gotten and made up for it. Huge kudos to them (this kind of customer service is what I expected after hearing my friends talk about their experiences). The person I spoke to at Directv also did file a complaint and mentioned to me that this was not the first time people had complained about this company. One of the things Directv asked me to do was to call the number for First Choice and try and get them to resolve these issues. If that would not work, I was to call Directv again. When I confronted a person from First Choice on the phone (who claimed she was the manager), and said that I had two witnesses that could testify to the fact that her salespeople (whom I had named and described) had promised us things they were now saying they would not own up to, she responded by saying that they would just come up with other witnesses to counter and basically call me a liar even though I had these things in writing. These people will lie through their teeth and say anything to get you to do business with them. This is unfortunate for Directv as it gives them bad rep and they seem to be a decent company (at least we've been very happy with them so far). read more
