    Balsamic Steak Salad
    Caryn K.

I came here and ordered to go on a Thursday and I was very pleased with my experience. I opted for a balsamic steak salad. FYI: The picture does not do this salad justice! It was loaded with blue cheese crumbles, walnuts and sun dried tomatoes. The service was quick and the inside was clean. I appreciated the wide variety of options available to customize/build your own salad. This was pricier than your average salad, but well worth it.

Ate here for the first time. I was at Camp Bullis and felt like something semi healthy so went on Yelp and found this place. I'd never heard of it as I don't come to the North West side of town very much (almost never). It was good, I wasn't mad at it. It didn't change my life, but I'd eat there again and am glad I found it. The restaurant itself was very clean and modern. I got the Asian Chicken Salad. You can build your own, but I don't like too many choices, too much pressure. I'd recommend.

    Bacon and egg salad wrap

Went today for the first time at lunch time. The guy told me they were behind when I made my order on the phone and it would be 20 minutes. No problem, my fault for not ordering online earlier. I drive over and walk in and I can tell they are all working so hard and in addition to what I'm sure were many online orders, there were walk-ins coming like crazy too. Still, all of the guys behind the counter were so nice and trying to get to everyone and they apologized for the wait. Let me tell you. This bacon & egg salad wrap might not sound like much... But it was GOOD. If you love boiled eggs like I do, this was like the best, grown-up version of a bacon and egg taco/burrito ever! The peppers on the side were roasted and salted to perfection. I will definitely be going back to try more things and to get this bacon and egg wrap until I get sick of it.

Plenty of seating, good location, great food, and friendly staff - what else could you want? It's walk up counter style ordering. They have a dozen or so salads or wraps you can choose from, or you can elect to "build your own." If you build your own, the protein options are steak, grilled salmon (each $5), chicken, and tofu ($3 each). The small salad is $8 and is quite bountiful and filling. Large salad is $10, or you can go with a wrap for $9. I had the small build your own salad (again, it's a decent size although it's a small) with the pine nut vinaigrette. The salad was good, but for some strange reason, they start making the salad by putting the dressing in the bottom of the bowl and then adding all of the fixin's before finally mixing it all up. This is ok for most dressings, but the pine nut vinaigrette dressing is pretty thick (almost like pesto consistency) and it didn't mix in very well like the typical ranch, vinaigrette, etc. dressings do. On the plus side, quinoa is not an extra charge or counted as a protein as I have seen at similar places.

    Chicken Caesar salad.

Good Caesar salad but not worth $21. No grilled salmon available until after the holidays???? Seems like one of the 7 people working could have ordered some salmon. Probably need to work on that as well as the whole pricing thing. Again, it was a good salad but not worth $21. It's not enough to just offer your customers "an alternative"; it must be " a better alternative" or they're going to stay with what they know. Sálata has a little better price point for their salads if you want to compare.

I absolutely loved the aesthetics -- there was plenty of parking, and when you walk inside, the décor feels classic, elegant, and welcoming. Our server, David, was extremely professional. His knowledge, attentiveness, and overall professionalism made this a really special birthday night for my boyfriend. We appreciated all the recommendations he made. We started with a Tempranillo red wine and a specialty cocktail. For appetizers, we chose the goat cheese salad and the French onion soup. Both were excellent -- the goat cheese salad was fresh and light, with an amazing crunch and flavor from the cheese. I would definitely order it again. The French onion soup was classic but honestly one of the best I've had, with the perfect balance of onion, salt, and cheese. For our mains, we ordered the beef Wellington and the lobster risotto, along with sides of blue cheese cauliflower and scalloped potatoes. The beef Wellington was surprisingly good -- I loved the crisp puff pastry combined with the mushrooms, beef, and sauce. The lobster risotto was chef's kiss -- absolutely delicious. I'm so glad they introduced the new menu because this dish was outstanding. The blue cheese cauliflower tasted good, though I wish the cream sauce had been a bit thicker so it would coat the cauliflower better. The scalloped potatoes, however, were phenomenal. We finished with a slice of strawberry cake that was incredibly moist and reminded me of strawberry ice cream with that nostalgic crumb coating -- really delicious. Overall, we were both extremely happy with our meals and the experience. We'll definitely be back to try more items and highly recommend it!

Overall it was a decent meal, but the worst we've had from this location. Disappointing that the quality this particular visit was so far below the usual standard. As I am currently pregnant, undercooked meat is a serious health risk. To make matters worse, when we got the food back, there was a black prep glove left sitting right on top of the boxed food. Whether this was done on purpose out of spite or was just extreme negligence, it is absolutely revolting and shows a total lack of regard for basic food safety and hygiene. The Service: When my husband brought the raw burger back, the owner's wife was immediately combative. She argued that "that's just how Wagyu is" and gave him a massive attitude. Instead of an apology, she told him, "We'll recook it this time, but next time we won't." The Unprofessionalism: My husband understands Spanish. When he went back to pick up the food, he caught her "talking crap" about him and his order to other customers in Spanish. Her toxic attitude literally drove business away--four customers behind my husband in line watched her behavior and left to eat at a different truck. Between the raw meat, the used gloves on our food, and the overpriced, disrespectful service, we will never be back. You've been warned.

Even though the ambiance had some similarities, I'm glad their food options were distinguished because otherwise could have just gone downtown. You cannot go wrong with any of their food options. Highly recommend doing family style so you can get a taste of everything and all the different flavors. We started with the gyoza and calamari which were to die for and were not greasy at all. Pork ssam, wagyu, miso pasta and octopus all brought a little bit of their own element and flare to your palate that it's hard to describe unless you try it. Wagyu was just melt in your mouth delicious. Pork ssam and octopus had their crunchy texture and umami flavors. The miso pasta added a light refreshing touch to balance everything out but don't let it fool ya, the noodles will expand in your stomach. We topped it off with their yuzu cake. Our only disappointment was they were out of their other desserts but nevertheless everyone of us left full and happy. Would come here again.

When I first read about Yozora, I honestly thought it sounded a bit pretentious. Fascinating, but…read morepretentious. Because the idea of music being an actual integral part of the dining experience--not just some kind of background noise--felt a little precious for my taste. I'm glad to admit I was wrong. So let's start with the ambiance and the vibe of Yozora. It's in a fairly non-descript kind of center; not bad but not specially memorable. But the space itself is open and has an air of restrained sophistication. And then there's that hi-fi set up. The music at Yozora really is part of the experience, but it's not intrusive in the way that you'd think. Most of what my dining companion and I heard was 50s and 60s jazz, and it was perfect for the occasion. Sushi and Coltrane are a great mix, and even though we were not far from the hi-fi system, I could hear every word of our conversation, without the need for either of us to raise a voice. Somehow, it's like the music operates on a different frequency from regular table chatter. Suffice to say, the music enhanced the mood and really set a scene for Yozora's chefs to tell some stories. And that, they do really well. We started out with seasonal tempura and miso masu ceviche--ocean trout marinated in miso, soy, and lime juice--that was sublime. But funnily enough, the real star small plate was a truffle creamy miso soup that was earthy and slightly sweet at the same time and was silky in texture. From there, we ordered a series of crudo and battera, each unique in its own way. It was wonderful stuff, accompanied by a rice lager. The kitchen at Yozora is not shy about experimenting with non-traditional flavors and ingredients. Sometimes it works really well; sometimes, not as well, but it's never bad, and the servers actually ask for feedback for the kitchen, which is something I rarely see. Yozora honestly seems to be most concerned with creating a great dining experience, and it does that, from the chefs to the line cooks to the servers (who are helpful and attentive without hovering). The music, the mood, and the menu add up to a memorable experience.
