I don't usually review places but I had to today, I called Honda to schedule and oil change and to replace the batteries in my key fab. They had an open appointment for me at 2 pm so I was able to go in today. Before we even entered the building Brad (who helped me) came out and asked me if I needed an oil change and he already had a note that my key fab needed replacing. We recently had a lot of fires so they replaced my filters as well and they noticed my splash shield was messed up (had a run in with some debris on the freeway) and they fixed that as well. He was so nice and helpful, never had a bad experience here. read more

I am giving a mixed review for First Honda of Simi Valley. My experience with them was good. I met with Johann, who was courteous and knowledgeable. I had researched and test driven the car I wanted, and First Honda had a good selection of colors to choose from. I was responding to an ad I had seen in the paper, and was able to test drive, qualify, sign and drive off in about 3 hours total. Johann showed me all the features and gizmos in the car, and synced my phone to the car's bluetooth. That being said, I am appalled at some of the other Yelp reviews I have seen, and if I had read the reviews beforehand, would probably have gone to a different dealership. I had gone to another Honda dealership where the manager would not give me a quote, but rather said "We'll meet the best offer you get from another dealership" like the internet sales reps at First Honda, according to some other reviews. I asked him several times for a quote, but he refused to give me one, so I didn't buy from him. That is not customer service. That is not salesmanship. It is the dealership's attempt to exert zero effort to make a sale. This was not my experience at First Honda, but then I didn't ask for a quote there, either. read more

The trunk on my 2008 Honda accord was stuck and I needed to get it open to replace a tail light. They were going to charge me $280 to remove the inside paneling to access the cable which did not include the cost/labor to fix/replace the cable and break light. They were very courteous, prompt, etc., but thankfully I didn't go through with it. My brother in law recommended his mechanic who was resourceful enough to find a way to get into my trunk through the backseat (seat folds down, but access to do so is in the trunk as well), pop it open, replace the cable and brake light without removing any of the paneling & for less than half the cost. read more

Horrible customer service with their service department. Not to mention they're a bunch of crooks. I have a 2002 Civic whose driver side window has fallen into the door 4 times!! Also happened to other people I know with the same car. So clearly it's the manufacturing. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to put that together. But Honda wants to charge me $400 to fix it. Ha! That's why I've gone elsewhere to have it done, but considering it keeps happening again and again, and to other people, Honda should pay for their hunk-a-junk product repairs. I leased a new Honda Civic and Alex and Juan help me but I feel like they really did not take the time to explain to me anything. Alex barely show me one car and he did not explain to me anything about the car. I had to ask everything I wanted to know, nothing was offered. I did not realized that until I talked to my sister who has gotten a car at 1st Honda of Simi Valley a week before. She told me about how important was to turn the windshield wipes off and not have them on automatic because they could easily break,her salesman explain that to her, I did not hear anything about that from Alex, and he did not tell me how to open the gas lid again my sister told me how, her experience was so different that mine. She and her husband were treated so nice, and to them a lot more details were given about the car, they took the time to show the car. I feel like they did not really took the time with me and tried to hush me into getting a new lease. I am not happy with the service or the deal I made. I Purchased my Honda Odyssey at 1st Honda back in 2010. When I needed the front axles replaced under warranty I was told it would be finished in one day & that the parts were in stock .Turned out they didn't have both axles in stock so it took two days, which was an inconvenience as I had to rent a car. Now four months later it's having a problem - it makes a "clanking" sound when turning, so I called to make an appointment. I was on hold for 20 minutes until someone finally answered and asked me why I brought the car in the first place four month ago. This was a weird question because they replaced the axles after verifying it was "needed" 4 months ago. After making an appointment I canceled it. I am taking it to Kolbe Honda, where I purchased my new accord last week. They have a much better attitude and work ethic there. 1st street also told me they would shuttle me home when I bought my van but that turned out to be untrue. I also complained about a scratch after the last service and the person in charge was supposed to call me but never did - ultimately I had it repaired anyway myself for $250 after having JUST spending $2500 fixing all scratches at Doug's Custom Paint two weeks prior. This dealer needs to step up there customer service and attitude. read more
