I had a very disappointing experience with First Honda of Simi Valley while trying to purchase a 2026 Honda Civic Type R. My first interaction was with Jose over the phone after I saw they had incoming Civic Type Rs. I was told they had a couple arriving, and I later stopped by the dealership to look at a Civic Si. While I was there, Jalen showed me one of the newly arrived Civic Type Rs. The vehicle was still being prepared, with plastic covering the seats and some body panels. I was able to walk around it and record it. The window sticker showed Honda's MSRP, and I made it clear that I was interested only if the vehicle could be purchased at MSRP. Later that evening, the vehicle appeared on their website with a "Total OTD Selling Price" of $51,358. Based on that advertised price, I contacted the dealership to move forward with financing. I was then told the advertised price was a mistake and was provided a new price that included approximately $11,000 in dealer and port-installed add-ons. When I questioned the change, Jose laughed and told me that nobody sells Type Rs at MSRP. A more accurate statement would have been that First Honda of Simi Valley does not sell Type Rs at MSRP, because I was able to find another Honda dealership that did exactly that. What was most frustrating was there was no attempt to meet in the middle or find a reasonable solution. Jose stood firmly behind the marked-up pricing and treated it as non-negotiable. From my perspective, if a dealership chooses to add a significant markup, that is their decision, but it should not come at the expense of dismissing a customer who was trying to purchase based on the advertised price. The next day, Jose sent me an updated link with a selling price over $61,000 and explained that taxes and fees would be added on top of that. This was a significant difference from the advertised "Total OTD Selling Price" that originally brought me into the conversation. What disappointed me most was not just the price change, but how the situation was handled. I expected a dealership to acknowledge an advertising mistake and have a professional conversation with a serious buyer. Instead, I felt dismissed for expecting the advertised price or Honda's MSRP. I ultimately purchased a Civic Type R at MSRP from another Honda dealership, proving that MSRP purchases are possible. Based on my experience, I would not recommend First Honda of Simi Valley. i have been getting an oil changed here since I got my car in 2011. I've always had a good experience with the staff but I have to say that today was one of the worst customer service experience of my life. I walk in to get an oil change with no appointment and I was helped by a girl that I had never seen before. Her name was Chloe. She did not smile at all and it seemed like she had a really bad attitude just staring straight at me with this look. I had a coupon for an oil change and she told me that my total was around 50 some dollars. I sign to agree and go sit down and think to my self why is it so much?? I remember that every time I go they ask me if I want my tires rotated since I've had that service before. I go up to her and ask her if the price she gave me included the tire rotation and she said yes! I told her that I did not want the tire rotation..she seemed annoyed and states that they recommend it trying to push it on me.. I told her that I did not want it this time around and what REALLY bothered me was that she never asked me from the beginning she just added it and charged me for it! So I told her that I would wait for my car and she stayed again in a rude way that it would be a 2 hrs wait! Per her it did not look busy but that they already had like 40 cats in the back and they wanted to take people with appointments first. So I agreed for them to take me home. They called me past the 2 hrs and they will took about 45 min to pick me up. When I got there she walked me over to the register not smiling or acting like she liked her job. She just left the paper there and the cashier April was on the phone ordering her lunch!! I was literally standing there listening to her order and she told me sorry and kind of pointed to give her a minute. I was waiting until I had to use the restroom do to me being pregnant and when I came back she was off the phone and apologized for being on the phone but I still felt like that was sooo rude!! Then she states that they will bring up my car when it was already parked outside but no one bothered to give me my keys I had to ask for them. Also all the other times I've gotten any service they do a complementary car wash and this time they did not. All in all it was a very bad experience and I was so annoyed at the service. I honestly don't know if I will got back. Hopefully they ready my review and speak to their employees because I am not one to complain at all! But this time around I had to! read more

A great experience all the way around. We first met with Michael, just walking in off the street. We told him upfront that we weren't going to be buying right away, just gathering information as we started our car buying process. We assured him we would take no offense if he needed to go take care of a buying customer at any time. Despite this, he took his time with us, showed us several vehicles that fit what we were looking for, and answered all of our questions, all the while never giving us the feeling of being rushed or upsold. We then spent the next two weeks doing our research, collecting comparables from other dealers (buying services, internet offers, etc.) Having done all of that, we decided to go back to Michael to give him and First Honda the first option of selling us the car we wanted at the price we would be comfortable with. We contacted Michael to arrange a time when he would be there; when we showed up, he was busy with another customer, but rather than have us wait, he had Nathan from his team help us right away Nathan displayed the same attitude - no rush, no upsale, just willing to take whatever time it took to locate the right car that met our specifications (make, model, trim, and color). We sat down with Nathan and CJ to talk numbers, and after some of the usual give-and-take we reached an agreement for both the purchase and our trade-in that was very competitive with what we had researched. Monica B I purchased a 2012 Honda CR-V on December 21, I had started e-mailing several Honda Dealerships for the past month, I did not want to leave my phone number with anybody due to the usual "HASSLE", That's associated with buying a car, before I went to First Honda , I went to Honda in Reseda right around the corner from my home, I was greeted but was told "maybe I should look for another car due to the low monthly payment I told them I wanted to pay (which was told to them ahead of time) so I walked off, soon as I returned home they started calling asking for another chance, needless to say that didn't happen!!!! When I arrived I was greeted by Albert it was first thing in the morning , and he had the biggest warmest smile, and reassuring handshake I immediately felt welcome, I explain to him what I wanted he pulled up the conversations I'd had with Carol, there was no BULL, he took me around and gave me several options on the car I WANTED, he never told me that , it couldn't be done, he made it happen, there was absolutely no pressure just options, he made a very stressful day, so easy I couldn't believe it, here was no waiting for the price to change, what he told me is what it was, I am extremely pleased with my Honda, and more pleased with Albert for helping me, I'd refer him to anyone who is out to buy a car, trust me he'll treat you fair. read more

I came into the Honda Dealership with my daughter to,"Look Around" on Tuesday, September 6, 2016. A friendly, knowledgeable salesman named Bobby approached us just as I was telling my daughter how I "Hate" pushy salesmen. He began to ask the usual necessary questions to put us on the same page, and my daughter and I immediately noticed something different about him... HE WASN'T PUSHY or aggressive at all! That was a huge plus for me! As he showed us a few cars, it didn't take long before he zeroed in on exactly what I wanted. He allowed me to focus on the importance of my desires, while at the same time making necessary suggestions and comments to assist me in my decision making. We test drove the car that had, by then, become my first love, and then my daughter and I proceeded to leave.I never sensed any urgency from Billy or last-ditch effort on his part to, "Rack in a deal". Instead, he was an A-Class gentleman, giving us his personal contact information and we left. Bobby was off the next day, however, after a sleepless night for me, he came into the dealership to seal the deal with me and sell me my new Honda. His professionalism remained consistent throughout our remaining time together. BOBBY WAS THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!! Not only was he very personable and friendly, but he was also very upfront with what the car had to offer and went above and beyond in helping us get the price and service that we were looking for. He walked through every feature of the car I was interested in and also was very informative during the test drive. Bobby also worked it out that the head rests which were missing from the used car I was looking at could be ordered and picked up later. He also went above and beyond and helped out by throwing in an extra key fob for no additional cost. He also was very accommodating with our request to get the car inspected by our mechanic before we purchased. After the inspection Bobby and First Honda also agreed to make the repairs our mechanic found and reduce the cost of the car for us. Overall Bobby was fantastic and really cared about making my purchase as easy and exciting as possible! He was great at answering any and all questions and also very patient with allowing me to look at the car on multiple occasions. I would recommend Bobby to anyone interested in purchasing a car from First Honda, he was the greatest! Also, for the service that First Honda provided in making the repairs, we found that the service department was very helpful in working around our schedule and also was able to complete the repair in a timely manner. I live in Corona, California, and this is the second car my wife and I have purchased from First Honda of Simi Valley. Certainly, there are many Honda dealerships in Riverside; so, why Simi Valley? My wife has a family member who works for the Honda dealership and she wanted me to a least give her family member a chance to sell me a car. I knew what I wanted and how much I was going to pay for the car. I was pre-approved and had done my homework. I agreed only to visit but I would call the shots and get the price and car I wanted or I would just go somewhere else. I was impressed with the inventory and the patience of the salesman. He answered all my questions and gave me what I wanted. We purchased an Accord and traded-in a BMW and I was pleased with the purchase. We recently, purchased another Honda Accord 2012, and again I knew what I wanted. When my wife and I got to the dealership we took our time, test drove several cars and asked several questions. I believe the best compliment for a car dealership is for customers to return to the place where they are confident that they got the best deal. My salesman Albert Rodriquez is professional, hard working and very knowledgeable of the cars he sells. He listens and understands what his customers want and expect. I just had one of the best buying experiences of my life. I have a friend at work whose husband Albert Rodriguez is a sales person at first Honda in Simi Valley. I haven't a bought a car for 15 years so when I told her what I wanted I figured if I get half of that I'd be so happy. It only took a couple of days and Albert found exactly what I wanted it's a beautiful car. Yes, it's used but you can't even tell. It's exactly right it's the right color it is just beautiful and he was such a gentleman. He waited for me to get there which was rather late. He explained everything very calmly not trying to get it done with fast or push me into buying. And he even emptied out my really old rather beat up car didn't complain didn't say anything about how much junk was in it he was a real gentleman and very helpful. I recommend Albert Rodriguez at First Honda. He made what could have been an ordeal into a wonderful experience. Well, I wanted to get my sixth Honda from 1st Honda! I had been waiting for months and months for a 2018, 2 door coupe, white, with a moon roof. Apparently, they are a bit scarce, this year. I absolutely love my 2013, 2 door coupe, but it was time to move on. After months of inquiries and a few weeks of online communication, with my Honda Representative, Stephanie, I was notified that 'My Car' might be present and available at 1st Honda. I visited 1st Honda, yesterday, and my on-sight saleswoman was Reka Potocska. What a spirited and energetic person!?! She knows her stuff!!! She went over the car with me and acknowledged the things I knew and explained the things I didn't. Quite an electronics upgrade from my 2013 to the 2018. She is very articulate and answers questions enthusiastically. She has the uncanny ability to detect that blank look on a face and will instantly go back, catch up, and clarify. Really appreciated the service from First Honda Simi Valley. Zabi Rahmany (known as "Z" at the dealership - seriously not hard to pronounce his name though, so give it a try) worked with me to get me the car I wanted. He was professional, knowledgeable, kind, courteous, and he listened, like genuinely listened to what I had to say and what I wanted. And he respected that, without trying to force me toward something I didn't want. When he realized how set I was on getting the specific trim I wanted in the color I wanted (canyon river metallic blue), which they did not have on the lot, he involved Bob, who worked to track down the car I wanted. It took a few weeks, but they got it in. Zabi stayed in touch throughout the process. I can tell you I was dreading the car shopping process, but I am genuinely glad Zabi was the first one to greet at the First Honda Simi Valley dealership and worked with me throughout this process. We traveled from Modesto to Simi Valley to pick up our new pilot. Ryan met us at the Amtrak station in Van Nuys . This is when we took our test drive going back to the dealership in Simi Valley. Ryan was very helpful and pointed out many of the special functions in the new pilot. we were impressed with his knowledge of the vehicle and the capabilities of the vehicle. We had several additional requests with Ryan was able to satisfy our needs and a very efficient manner. We had negotiated the price over the internet and took a check for the agreed-upon amount . When we got there there were no hassles and it was exactly as agreed upon . Overall we were impressed with the sales and service at the dealership. Unfortunately for Ryan this likely is our last new vehicle purchase since we're both in our seventies and the last new vehicle I purchased was a 1994 Honda and it only has like a hundred and ten thousand miles on it. Buying a car is always stressful, but I let them work the deal out and when it was to my satisfaction and in my price range, I purchased the 2014 Honda Accord. I'm very satisfied with my car and the service. My salesperson, Johan was very nice, helping me in any way he could. I had a very disappointing experience at First Honda of Simi Valley. The customer service was extremely poor and frustrating. I brought my car in for a simple battery inspection, which I was told by 2 different Honda dealers should take no more than 20-30 minutes. Instead, it took more than three hours. I originally purchased the battery from them, and it failed in less than three years, so it should have been replaced without issue. Instead, they gave me a hard time and made the process unnecessarily difficult. This level of delay for such a basic service shows a lack of organization and professionalism. The staff was not helpful, and the overall experience felt inefficient and poorly managed. In contrast, I've had a much better and smoother experience at Honda of Reseda, where the service is more professional and respectful of customers' time. I would not recommend this dealership if you value efficiency and good customer service. read more

I went in to First Honda, not knowing what I wanted. I had been driving this old Kia, and I reckoned I had another year to plan. My plans changed Monday night when I was involved in a traffic collision which totaled my car. A family member brought me in as they had recently bought a 2014 CRV and were super happy with the experience. So I spent some time with Tom, who, after causing me to fall in love with the Civic, made an executive decision to share the love with Juan Sanchez, who had helped my family out just 6 weeks ago. I've purchased four new vehicles in my life time and have endured endless hours and weeks of haggling and not to mention unprofessionalism to its maximum coupled with pressure to purchase hanging over my head. My experience was great over at 1st Honda. At 1st Honda I experienced friendly, reasonable timing, professional service, honesty and numbers that made sense. I was treated with the upmost respect and kindness that was conducive to serious thought processing and decision making. I went in there with a used car in mind for my eighteen year old college student, however their loan programs (low interest rates) and lease option programs are excellent that it made sense to drive off in a brand new car and hassle free. There was no pressure in choosing the car and they both took my opinions on the different cars we looked at and tested out into account. They both really want to make sure you are satisfied with the car you are walking away with and value that very highly whilst giving you all of the necessary information you need to feel confident about what you are buying. At the end of the day the entire process was very smooth and easy no hiccups of any kind. In the end I had ended up walking away with a much nicer car than what i had expected to get because they were able to find me such a great deal on a better option. As soon as we walked onto the lot, we were approached by Ryan Lewis, and honestly, my first thought was "Oh great, here we go." He asked us what were looking for and made every effort to try and find a vehicle that met our demands. He found one at a sister lot and came back with it for us to test drive. We drove it and really liked it. This was the first and only car we saw and didn't need to look at any more. Honestly, because of Ryan's honesty, friendly demeanor and non-aggressive personality, it was very easy to make the decision to purchase the vehicle from him. We were at the lot for a total of 3 hours, start to finish. He promised to have us out by 7 and kept his word!
