TL;DR: This dealership lied multiple times, and I was able to record most of their criminal activities. I will start a lawsuit, so if you have had any of the problems below, please contact me as it can provide more strength to that lawsuit. See below all the sketchy stuff they've done while I was trying to buy a vehicle from them: 1) Over the phone, the dealer told me that the vehicle would be 0.0% APR. As I got to the dealership, the dealer who received me confirmed that it would have 0.0% APR. The manager then confirmed it. When I was ready to close the deal they said that they were confused about it, and that vehicle would not apply to 0.0% APR. I read online that this could be categorized as bait-and-switch, which is a criminal tactic to lure the customer into the store and then say that the deal doesn't apply to the vehicle I want. 2) The vehicle had a sticker on it with one given value, but the dealer made a purchase order with a final value that was $700 larger. I was presented with multiple purchase orders over that night, so I don't know when did this value go up. I even signed the purchase order without noticing the wrong value. 3) The dealer added an extra $700 fee to the vehicle on top of the previous $700 price increase. When I asked about it, they only said that it is a sum that they charge to everyone. I even signed the purchase order with this sum, even though it says next to it "Optional accessories". Legally speaking, it seems like this goes into the category of "Add-on concealment". I signed the purchase order with this extra optional accessory because they never told me it was optional (or even the purpose of the fee). 4) The dealer offered their own yearly interest on the vehicle's financing. I said that it looked too large when compared with what my bank offered. They said that if I made another hard inquiry in my bank, it would hit my credit score on 10 to 20 points. I later researched about this, and I found that "most Credit Scores are not affected by multiple inquiries from auto, mortgage or student loan lenders within a short period of time. Typically, these are treated as a single inquiry and will have little impact on your credit scores.". Not only that, but usually these inquiries won't hurt a credit score by any more than 5 points. Based on this, it seemed like they were using scare tactics to make me sign the deal right then and there. 5) The dealer said that my credit score was much lower than what it actually was, and that they got it from Transunion and Equifax. Later on, I requested a credit report and I found out that my credit score was actually much larger than that. It sounds like they were trying to make me believe that they were offering me a good deal for my credit score. TL;DR: Only took Carlos Contreras 3 attempts to convince his department to detail a new off the lot vehicle. Jack Kresky knowingly sent me out in an unsafe vehicle with a fake repair with proof the vehicle was unsafe in his email, and discussed prior to dropping off the car. Dave Thomas played cover page scam games with the contract. Jason Biniak thought the answer was to intimidate and berate a customer to tears while withholding already paid for and agreed to service to remove bad feedback. (hey, I took down the old one) Allen Clauss is a ghost, was never reachable, and has nothing to say for his dealership screwing then blackballing a new vehicle customer. Dalton Meshell, well, he'd be a good sales guy at a non scummy dealership. Full rundown: So, bought 2020 Accord Hybrid Touring in October (2 months ago) and got a ton of add ons. Was a nightmare to catch all the number swap games that were going on and work through all the carefully crafted sales nonsense to avoid giving their customer required disclosures. Finally, leaving we noticed the car wasn't detailed despite being told that is was back being detailed an hour prior, there was mud on the seats, and one of the door panels had a scratch in it. I already had to return as they hadn't installed accessories yet, so we took pictures and hoped it would be resolved. Came back for accessories, the scratched panel, muddy seats, and while driving I noticed the HUD was misaligned and the lane keeping feature kept malfunctioning. I got several stories about the HUD from Honda doesn't allow that, to nobody knows, to that would be a lot of work to dismount the dashboard. Given the lazy streak, I'm guessing option 3 was it. Lane keeping got a shrug (no really) and found out it wasn't even mentioned in the technician notes meaning they lied about even looking at it but I didn't know this yet because Carlos lied saying there was no exit paperwork when leaving service. Detailing still wasn't done, the scratched panel still wasn't addressed, and they were closing soon, so I had no choice but to come back again. So I go back again in a few days, reiterate the issues with the HUD, the lane keeping malfunctions, the panel that is still scratched and the detailing that has been missed twice now. I get another shrug about the HUD, the tech claimed to take it for a test drive and since the lane keeping failure wasn't trivial to reproduce, I got a shrug there as well. They did get around to finally detailing the car for the first time, but they forgot the scratched panel yet again. Lane keeping still was acting up, so I got a go pro and mounted it to document the lane keeping failure since the dealer wasn't willing to put more than a 5 minute drive into an actual diagnostic. Jack Kresky sold me on some big story about how re-aiming the camera might fix it. What Jack actually wrote in the service notes that up through this point I was still being lied to and told they didn't print out was "Performed a camera re-aim but re-aiming will not improve system performance". So Jack Kresky knowingly sent me out with an unsafe vehicle despite having footage of a lane keeping malfunction in his possession that was discussed in detail. So at this point I'm trying to reach out to see if any level of management cares about the way their customer is being dismissively treated, and in my frustration I dropped the f-bomb in some emails. Not my brightest move since the management response was to use the language to simply block me as an "obscene" customer. Never mind the endless list of figurative f-bombs I was getting from a service center that obviously wasn't even going to pretend to service a vehicle defect from their own lot. So at this point, I try to at least get complete paperwork out of these people. Dave at finance repeatedly claimed he sent me "everything" over several requests throughout this drama fest, but each time, he just sent cover pages and was blatantly not giving me the terms, conditions, and cancelation clauses for the service contracts. When I insisted that the contract copy was incomplete (and was going completely out of my way to not raise my voice, or use any objectionable words), Dave pulled the you're not on the contract line and trespassed me from the dealership (because that's the way to handle a screwed customer gents!). Car was purchased under my significant other's name, so again back to the dealership we went. She was able to talk them into giving a slightly less incomplete version (seriously, these guys have flat out refused to provide a copy of an executed contract in spite of countless requests), and then when she brought up the scratched panel that STILL hadn't been fixed after three return visits, some lumbering brute by the name of Jason came in, physically intimidated her and berated her into tears, then said if you want any favors from us, have your boyfriend take down his negative feedback. Contacted this dealership in early March 2020 online about a Red 2013 Chevy Sonic LT and requested that if they would be willing to accept $5,900 ILO of the $6,400 listed price. I would absolutely make the 240 Mile trip from North Dallas to Austin to make the purchase that coming weekend. The day before I was supposed to travel, they send me the paperwork and change our verbal agreement from $5,900 + TTL to $6,100 + TTL. The following images are my attempt to counteroffer and the email exchange shows their "professionalism" as they claim I was "not willing to work with them". In the end, I ended up finding a similar 2013 Chevrolet Sonic RS with 107K miles for $5400 from a personal seller and THIS initial deal ended up falling through so that First Texas Honda missed getting my business and a sale over a mere $100 measly dollars. This is a review for the service center. I first inquired online about getting a new battery and whether it would be covered under warranty. I promptly got an email response from one of the service representatives with all the information I needed (yes, labor and parts would be covered by warranty). I went on a Saturday morning around 8am as a walk-in and spent about 10 minutes getting checked in. As soon as I pulled up, I was approached and asked what kind of service I wanted, and then a few minutes later a service advisor, Fred, came over to finish the check in process. He told me that servicing would take about 2.5 hours, and that was accurate. I also got a free multi-point inspection and car wash. The waiting area is quite big and comfortable with lots of different seating options. Their free wifi is good. There is also a cafe and everything is complimentary. The barista is super sweet! Later they had a live acoustic guitarist which amused me because it seemed so extra and very Austin, but it was nice. Really happy with the customer service here. read more

First Texas Honda has been my go-to dealership and service provider since 2014 when I purchased my new Honda CR-V from this dealership. I trusted this dealership and always agreed to all their recommendations during oil changes based on their diagnostics. However, my trust in the integrity of this business was misplaced in my recent visit on May 10th. In 2022, I was advised to replace my two front tires, so I did, believing that their recommendations were based on genuine car maintenance needs. Currently, my car has only 25,000 miles on it, and since 2022, it has only increased by 4,000 miles. It is lightly used and kept in the garage at all times. On Friday, May 10th, 2024, I visited the dealership for an oil change and was once again advised to replace my tires. The service advisor was Dylan Payne. I was informed that the two front tires had not been replaced since purchase. Despite my belief that they had been replaced two years ago, I was assured that the tires were factory originals and never been replaced before. I reluctantly followed his recommendations that I urgently need to replace my tires. However, upon reviewing my past receipts at home, I discovered a 2022 receipt showing that I had indeed paid $680 for the replacement of the two front tires. I realized that I had been recommended unnecessary services, as evidenced by my previous receipts. Dylan Payne, as the service advisor, undoubtedly had records of all my past services, as First Texas Honda is the only car shop I have used since purchasing my car. So my tires were once again replaced, and this time costing me about $640. This pattern of recommending unnecessary services is a blatant attempt to exploit customers for money, resources, time, and their age. It is fraudulent and unacceptable way of earning commission and I will dispute this fraudulent sham transaction with my bank. If I really had factory tires at the time of this recent service then that either means Dylan was flat out lying, or you never replaced my tires in 2022. read more

I had recently been considering a new car but wasn't really very motivated. I did some basic searches on some makes and models that I would consider buying. Shortly thereafter I received several calls, texts and emails from salespersons at various dealerships vying for my business. Some of the nicer certified preowned cars that I was in encountering on the internet were from First Texas Honda on Steck Avenue which is literally a one to two minute drive from my work. I took a chance and called the dealership about 5:30 on a Wednesday evening and spoke to Ben. After a brief conversation and being so close, I decided to drive over to the dealership to peruse the certified preowned inventory. It was then I met Gentleman salesman Aaron. We hit it off immediately. What a Prince of a young man. He was very attentive listening to exactly what I was saying and went above and beyond to answer my questions and address my fears and concerns. After answering all my questions and giving me a trade-in quote on my 2015 Hyundai and narrowing cost parameters and models down, we took two vehicles for test drives. The Honda Civic Sport was a good fit for me all around. After returning to the dealership a bit more negotiation was is in order and after meeting briefly with Aaron's boss Jason, I was given what I felt was a very generous trade-in offer. Ultimately I became the proud new owner of a 2020 Honda civic sport. I signed my paperwork with Josh "Hutch" and even though it was already past 8:00 PM nobody complained and everybody hung in there to finish up the deal. I was exhausted but also super happy with my new purchase.I actually drove home the same night in my new vehicle and returned the following day to have it cleaned and refreshed and to learn all about the buttons and controls on my new blue ride!. Once again high praises for Aaron as my salesman and the entire team at first Texas Honda including Matt, the Pre-owned sales manager and Nina in finance. One final bragging point: if you do have to wait for repairs or service be at half an hour an hour or two hours , you can't beat the atmosphere, fast WiFi, arcade games, TV's and the FTH Café stocked with complimentary Starbucks comparable coffee drinks, other drinks and various snacks. It's taken me over a year of 3 different services for me to write this review. 1) They don't wash your car like the old days. 3 separate times in the course of a year and they just don't or forget to wash your car. I'm not coming here just for a random oil change each time either. 2) I went in for an oil change today. The service advisor told me if I had an appointment. Starting December 1, 2017 - First Texas Honda decided not to tell their customers its by appointment only now. What happened to express service? Really? I've been coming here since 2013 and now I have to make an appointment? Didn't bother to send me a post card yet alone an email??! They took me in anyway but still no communication whatsoever. 3) They don't honor Howdy Honda or Round Rock coupons anymore! Nope. Don't brother printing it out and showing to the service advisor. They will turn you down. 4) First Texas Honda now charges $65 for an oil change. No joke (see the picture). I don't have a BMW or Mercedes ... I drive a 6 year old car and they increase their prices from low $40s to $65. Holy!!!!!!! Want to know the crazy thING? I called Howdy Honda as I got into the lobby and their service advisor told me they (Howdy Honda) only charges $42 - Yes for my type of oil I need for my car. I checked out at the end and the reasoning their prices increased to $65 was due to the cost of oil and parts; that they have to make money somewhat. That's what the guy told me! Strange .... Because I just called Howdy Honda and their price point is much lower than yours. Hmmm.... 5) My number one complaint was not washing my car? I walked to my car and guess what? The orange marker they wrote on when I pulled in is still there!!!! Omg!!!! I will never come here anymore! I'm asking you new and former customers to not go here! Everything went well! We went to sell one of our cars back to Honda and ended up selling both of them and getting a new one. Cory was awesome! We brought our golden with us and Cory even put him on his social media! Everyone was so very nice and friendly. The have a courtesy cafe, arcade games, corn hole, ping pong, foosball, comfy seating and a large super cute kids room. Not your old sit around waiting for managers to go back and forth. Honda has a fantastic loyalty program. We didn't have to submit any paperwork or documents. We never intended on buying a car that day but Cory made it easy. I have purchased a few vehicles from First Texas but this review is actually about a recent purchase I made from Acura. After purchasing my Acura, I bought some cargo hooks for the trunk from Honda's eStore and called both Acura dealers in Austin to get them installed (after failing miserably trying to do it myself). Both dealers said they did not have the coveted part that installs these accessories and I would have to wait due to supply shortages. So I thought to myself, "why not try First Texas since they have always been so great?" Sure enough, First Texas Honda came through. Not only did they install my accessories, but they did it in less than 30 minutes and for FREE. There was a giant line of cars in the service bay so I was extra surprised by the speedy service. recommended to me. They put my car up on the lift and looked at the work that was done and my rear brakes and my hydraulic fluid. They then came back and let me know that there was nothing wrong with my rear brakes and they did not need to be replaced and that the hydraulic fluid or brake fluid does not need to be changed just because my front brakes were replaced. I told Michael I could not afford more than about $500. The quote came back at almost 2,200! I have brought my car Faithfully to Honda and Honda only for the past 10 years. That is after only always owning Toyota's or Hondas. I saved up the cash for 6 years to buy my brand new 2014 Honda Civic. I am so disgusted with First Texas Honda. I feel you guys have completely ripped me off and will continue to rip customers off by stating that things need to be replaced when maybe that is not necessarily true. Brought my car in for service 8/21/24. My accord is having issues with the display. The customer service was good initially. They gave me a rental car while they looked at my car and called me when they found the issue. They advised they would need to replace the screen but the part was on backorder. I brought back the rental and picked up my car until the part arrives. That is where any kind of customer service stopped. I dropped off the car in the rental return area. No one met me there. I walked inside and let them know I was dropping off the rental to pick up my car. I was told to wait at the service counter. No one was there. They did not advise anyone I was waiting. I stood at the counter for over 20 minutes without being helped. When someone did come by we learned that my service advisor did not have any paperwork prepared even though he knew exactly when I would show up. The new person helping me had to re-draw up all of the paperwork so I could leave with my car. After not hearing back from my service advisor for over a month I tried texting him at the number I was provided, no reply. A week later I tried again, no reply. A week later I called to see what the status of my part order was. I was advised that no order had been placed. My service advisor was not available. She would email him and the parts department to see what was going on. I asked when I could expect a call back. She said I would hear back from either my service advisor or her on Monday 10/14. After not hearing anything from anyone I called back on Wednesday 10/16. After explaining the issues the lady I was speaking to spoke to the parts department and told me that a part was ordered but there is no confirmation of the order I could be given since the part is not in stock. She also said it has been ordered since August somehow. I asked for a callback from my service advisor since I have been trying to get a hold of him for the last 3 weeks. She said she would relay the message. Still waiting to hear from him.... Not holding my breath. read more

I was looking to pay off a used car for my daughter whom is a full time college student. Understanding that buying a used car comes with risks. I asked for a vehicle no less than 2015, and less than 100,000 miles. I always ask for a printed copy of the Carfax, & I take pictures of the VIN # from the vehicles dashboard AND the drivers side on the door frame to make sure they all match AND I get the accurate Carfax & inspection letter for the vehicle I inquired about. It was a frustrating process as there was a lot of inconsistency with the information we were given about the vehicles. 2 out of 7 used dealers in the Austin area were the only ones that were ethical, professional, patient and not deceitful. We did visit First Texas Honda because my daughter saw a 2017 Nissan Altima for $7,500. We worked with Diego Burgos, he was very professional & helpful. We test drove the car. I told him the AC was not cooling well & the importance on that detail because of the Texas heat. He was polite until he went to go get another man just to tell us that they can fix the ac, it probably just needed freon. We ended up not buying from here because I did not appreciate the intimidation approach of bringing someone else in when they saw 2 females shopping for a vehicle. I decided to keep looking & if we didn't find anything we'd see if the car was still there later. It also had 150,480 miles, & some paint peeling off, so with the intimidation act, making it seem that they didn't want to deal with all my questions & concerns as if I didn't understand anything about buying cars, I felt comfortable to keep looking & since the miles under 100,000 is also important. We did end up buying the best option available, a 2015 Ford Escape, 62,300 miles for $7,250...with the least shady actions from the owner/sellerat a local used car dealers off N. Lamar. I recommend this location (First Texas Honda) if you're a woman looking to get delicious free coffee, & buy a car, but only if you are prepared to call them out in their attempt to intimidate you when you point out any flaws on the vehicle or question anything they are trying to sell you. read more

With more than 250 one star Yelp reviews, there is not much more to add about FTH's service center's dismal customer service, horrendous communication skills, and predatory, vindictive and undisclosed pricing upgrades at checkout time. I post this review merely to highlight FTH's corporate hypocrisy with each and every response it provides to each of the hundreds of one star reviews it received. While FTH purports to want truthful feedback in its social media posts, its service center personnel are too thin skinned to accept any criticial feedback. When I, a senior citizen, explained to its staff in great detail that it was trying to take advantage of me, they rudely complained to me that I was complaining too much. Thus, while FTH is good at asking for feedback, it has no ability, as evidenced by 250 plus one star reviews, to accept and act on the feedback. And since accepting and acting on the feedback is really the most important part of the feedback process, FTH is just being hypocritical when it purports to want honest feedback. Thus, I join the ranks of other FTH customers who have quit FTH and moved on to other repair businesses. read more

I came back today to pick up my car and was greeted by Jason Wisniewski, super nice guy! I then met with Nelson and again he was extremely helpful and friendly, he handles tires also and I told him I would definitely call him for replacements!! Trevor Checked me out today and also was very cordial and informative about my car !! Definitely an all around wonderful dealership, I'll have to check out their Sales Department ! UPDATE !! First Texas Honda is 'the Bomb' !!! Our battery died and we had to have it towed in. My husband rode in with the Tow and they gave him a Brand New SUV to take home !! LOVED the Car ! Jack Wright was our Service Advisor and did a FANTASTIC Job !! He was very informative about the status of our Vehicle by texting and calling !! Yeah for Jack !! Turns out we just needed a New Battery ! All taken care of and everything else Checks out ! Thank you Jack at First Texas Honda for Another outstanding Service !!! Oh and Jay Jank, GREAT GUY ! This review is for their service. Got there around 2pm on a Saturday, nothing scheduled. I needed a couple things for my car such as an oil change, air filter change, and a transmission fluid. Everyone was incredibly helpful and friendly from the moment I pulled up to when I left. Service did not take long surprisingly. They said my wait would probably be 90 minutes, but it was well under that. I also did not feel pressured for additional services. They recommended I get new tires or at least some time soon. I was provided recommendations and prices for their tires, but not once did I feel pressured to get tires then and there. Definitely appreciate that level of understanding and service. I will most likely come back for the tires and even future car services. Lastly, I have never been to a car dealership where they have a full on coffee bar where everything is free. Now I don't mean just a cup of hot coffee you get from a dispenser. There is an actual barista to serve you coffee and make lattes...all for free! read more
