The only problem I had was when I got home there was an important looking metal clip on my drivers side floor mat. My tech was Javier whom I didn't get to meet. The only bad thing is now I have to go back to take care of that which is kind of inconvenient. Would probably recommend this place to anyone looking to get some maintenance done on their Honda. I called first, then went here, to have an additional key fob made. I was told it would take 90 minutes. They put me first alright. First in line. I waited over 40 minutes for my "advisor" to come to my car. I asked the young men running around when I would be helped. He told me I would just have to wait. I left. I not only need an additional key fob, I also need an additional Honda. I will not be returning to this dealership. read more

I purchased a new vehicle in early September and have now owned it for a little less than two months. In that time, there have been several issues that have come to light regarding my vehicle - namely the transparency of the dealership and the quality of care that was put into the car prior to my purchasing it. When you first buy a car (and this was my first car buying experience) you try your best to pay attention to all of the details and make sure that car is in good, clean condition. There will inevitably be some things you will likely notice, so speak to the dealership about resolving them before purchasing your car. I noticed small stains on the roof of my vehicle and pointed them out and specifically asked that they be cleaned prior to taking the car home with me. I was assured they would be. When I left the dealership, it was after hours and I was tired so I did not thoroughly inspect what I had requested to be address and only noticed later that absolutely nothing was done to clean this. Very disappointing. The second thing was that about a week after buying the car, I started to have issues with my keys working. Now, that might sound unusual, but this is one of the newer vehicles that uses remote access to start the vehicle which means that a malfunctioning key equals a non-working vehicle. I reached out and was told they could replace the batteries in the one key which wasn't working well and a few days later the second key also gives out so I did a little research. Apparently the key batteries are only expected to last around two years and my car is.....roughly two years old. So they simply never bothered to change the batteries even knowing the timeline on the key batteries as it's a Honda vehicle and they are a Honda dealership. About a week or so ago, I noticed a chip in my windshield and assumed it was a result of a small rock flying up while the lawn was mowed at my job, as I was leaving work when I noticed it. I filed a claim with my auto insurance to have it repaired after bringing it up the the Honda Service Team at this dealership. The service technician my auto insurance sent came out and told me told me it's a previously repaired chip. Not only was the repair never disclosed, but the service team for Honda tried to schedule an appointment for me to pay to have it repaired. All in all, this has just been disappointing as small details come into the light and it makes me concerned there may be larger issues to deal with in the future as a result of all this. I am concerned about the longevity of my vehicle not due to the vehicle itself, but the level of neglect that I am now seeing in my vehicle on a smaller scale. It really takes away from the trust I had in this location and I cannot say I would recommend them. I'm sure in a few weeks there will be something else I notice that needs to be repaired. I love the car that I have and it's exactly what I was looking for, but I'd also narrowed down my search prior to coming in and was exactly aware of the vehicle I came to view. My needs were highly specific because I was only looking for a 4-door, AWD CRV and had already viewed the images online of the vehicle this dealership had on hand so it was hard to screw it up. The finance department was also helpful but slightly pushy as I'd experienced an issue on my end with the financing and ended up having to get a cashiers check because my cards wouldn't allow the down payment. Walked in and was interested in talking about a 24 CRV. After about 5 minutes of walking around the show room, finally a sales manager came up and asked if I needed any help looking at some cars. All sales men were in their cube on their phones and the sales manager had to make one of them help me out. On these test drive the salesman barely gave me any info and barely spoke the entire time. HORRIBLE. I call Sales Coordinator Trey Barstow expressing interest in 2 cars they had advertised and he said they would set the keys aside and advised my sales rep would be Michael Broderick. My stepdaughter and I drive two different cars (we were going to trade hers in) in Austin rush hour traffic which took us an hour each. We get there and the first impression is not good - sales people look very unprofessional, shirts slopp untucked, etc. My immediate thought was "this place is not well managed ". I asked for Michael advising we had an appointment and waited for 10 minutes- nothing. I asked again and one nice employee said he will try calling- come to find out Michael wasn't around so they put us with another salesman- very nice guy. I told him which cars we were there to see, he leaves to get the keys only to come back saying one was just sold, which was the one she really wanted. Now I get the sales game, but it would have been nice to at least call us and ask "we have the keys put aside, but someone is interested- we will honor our statement to hold them if you can be here at ...pm", or something like that. Instead - we both drove one hour in brutal traffic and then had to drive back in the same traffic. I am extremely busy at work and don't have time to waste, which just added to this nightmare. I have used First Texas for both sales and service. Honda Service - The service advisors have always been friendly and professional. Their recommendations for service have been supported with photos, and more recently, with a video walk through of the engine and under carriage. Their service prices are reasonable and the work has always been great. Honda Sales - I spoke with every Honda dealer in town when looking for my last car. First Texas had the most friendly approach in their sales and was the most reasonable in working with me to find an agreeable deal. I purchased my car at First Texas Honda about 10yrs ago and service has mostly been ok until recently. They take 2hrs to get an oil change done appointment or not, which is a bit out of control. This time they happened to scratch my roof with this cone they put on them for service. I called my service advisor who then said a manager would call me. I finally got a manager to call but they just left a voicemail. When I called them back it wasn't a direct line and I couldn't get them on the phone. It's been weeks and nobody followed up with me. I'd also mention that in terms of service I don't believe they're checking and maintaining cars. They've failed to notice a squeaky clutch and more importantly a slipping clutch. If someone is taking 2hrs with my car I'd hope it would be so that they're able to be very thorough with my vehicle. Took my car to First Texas Honda on September 28, 2024, as the bumper, left front headlight and engine cover needed to be replaced. The service advisor whom I dealt with was Cameron Price. After First Texas Honda had the car for a couple of weeks with no update, I reached out to him. He communicated the engine cover would not be in until 12/5. After no communication, I called a week later seeking an update, and was advised that the cover would be in next week and I requested it be put on. Cameron communicated to me the vehicle, which is a 2017 Honda Civic would be ready the following week. Called Cameron to let him know I would be there to pick the car up, and was advised it was not ready, stating the paint guy had an emergency and had to leave. Stated he would not be back until Monday 10/28 and the car would be ready Tuesday. Called Tuesday, and was told it would not be ready until Wednesday. Went to pick the car up on Friday, 1 November. Once I paid $3,324.22, I was advised the car was outside and ready to be driven off. I decided to look underneath, as I was suspicious of something being off. When I looked underneath it, I noticed the engine cover was being held by "zip ties." I found a service manager and shared my concerns. Several techs came over and once it was placed on the ramp, an entire piece was missing. Needless to say, I was livid, as they clearly attempted to get over, and the quality of the work was unacceptable. Incredulously, no one knew how this could happen, as they "alleged" they have a quality assurance department in place, that review their work before a customer's vehicle is relinquished to them after repairs... Ha! After going back and forth and out of pure frustration one of the techs, Tyler in the service department, asked if I can find the part, and put in on in your presence, would you be okay with that. I agreed and Tyler worked it out. I paid full price for a part and labor that had not been completed. Had I not had the wear with all to look underneath the vehicle, the part would have come off as soon as the engine got hot. They did not offer a price reduction, only a worthless apology. I would NOT recommend taking my car to this dealership for a washing, let along service or repairs of any kinds. They are crooked as they come read more

I had an incredibly pleasant experience and every encounter I had was with someone extremely nice, personable, and helpful including my seller/dealer Nadeem, my design center consultant Carlos, the finance manager Chris, and the sales manager Alvin. They hustled and did their job as salesmen which I respect but also did it without making the interaction seem transactional and could tell they cared about me in conversation; they were just happy to be speaking with me! My 2017 Honda Civic EX-T sedan had blown out the belt on two tires on the back passenger tire and one on the driver back tire with in a space of three days. I had it towed to Discount Tire and the only two tires they had in stocked was slightly smaller tires than what the factory size was. I had them installed so I could get my car home that day and was informed them by Discount that my car desperately needed an alignment so I scheduled an alignment with FTH. The checkin was not bad but the tech who looked at my tires immediately tried to up-charge me and make me buy two new front tires to get rid of the brand new slightly smaller front tires from Discount. I explained that I knew the front tires was slightly smaller than the factory size but that it was the best I could do just to get the car home with four tires that were not blown out. I explained that due to how bad the car was out of alignment that even if the tech couldn't get it perfect that anything would be better than its current state. The tech then proceed to tell me doing my alignment today would not help stop the tire blow outs. I explained that Discount Tire had already shown me where the passenger back tire was visibly pulling inward and to the left along with the steering wheel pulling to the right. He still argued with me that was something else and I looked at him and informed him that I could leave and skip the service if he wouldn't stop trying to argue with me just because I was a young woman who was alone. In short, this was my first trip here and it will be my last. I bought my Honda back in West Virginia and I have had it serviced at a lot of Honda dealerships as I've traveled across the country and this is the worst experience I've had in eight states. read more

A text video from the technician explaining the diagnosis a text estimate mapping out the various recommendations followed by a call from the advisor solidifying my understanding. I tried talking with someone on the phone, but it went to voice each time. I ended up texting supposedly a salesperson. I was exact in what we wanted to see. We arrived and there were 5 employees sitting behind the entrance desk. Only one was on phone at that time. There was no real salesperson that I had talked with. Was given a male name, but was told the woman who replies does exist. There were no cars that showed as there (and what I'd told the person I was texting) on their website. Had a regular service appointment scheduled on 08/08 for my Honda Insight (purchased at First Texas in 2022.) Was given Drake Dawley as my service rep. and he was fine. Went over what was actually needed vs. what had been done previously, since the Maintenance code that popped did not seem to be entirely accurate. Got my car, all good. Fast forward a week and I have a tire blow out as I get off the highway. Honda Care took care of calling the tow truck to take the car to First Texas. I happened to have Drake's email from the previous week's service so gave it a shot and emailed him. He stepped right up, responded quickly and said he would make sure either he would take care of it upon arrival, or if he was already gone, another trusted rep would step in. We did get a call from another rep that evening, but the next morning he did NOT follow through as he said he would to contact us first thing. After waiting a couple hours, I re-contacted Drake, he stepped in, and kept me updated. Got my car back that afternoon, and Drake was happy to inform me that warranty had covered 100%. Drake is not only friendly and personable, but efficient. This 5 star review is 100% all his. (Now if the dealership could get my account information corrected - they moved my car under my husband's name & phone # when it was initially and correctly all set up under mine, the dealership 'might' get 5 stars as well. Notice the window sticker, online advertisement, and the badge on the car all say "Limited". After spending a few hours researching online I found that Toyota has a VIN checker. Suspecting this car wasn't what First Texas Honda said it was I went to the website and found out it was actually an "XLE Premium". After being caught I requested First Texas Honda make it right by giving us an equivalent deal on a similar vehicle. The deal we contracted on for the "Limited" Avalon was the mid-range trade-in value for the Avalon. All we requested was the equivalent pricing on another car. Equivalent being the mid-range KBB value. They showed us a car that was as close as Honda offers to the Avalon Limited. This was the Honda Accord Touring. The KBB trade-in difference was approx $3,000. We agreed to pay the difference but they still insisted on making money. If a dealership is willing to sell a car with fake insignia as something else who knows what else they might do. read more

My wife's 2014 accord was making a loud noise at startup so I brought my vehicle to FTH. This dealership quoted me over $3000 to replace the VCT actuator and timing chain. They told me that when you run the vehicle low on oil the VCT actuator can't get oil to the timing chain which eventually causes the chain to stretch and make the noise at startup. Overall they wanted over $5500 to do this work along with the rear brakes and all the other fluids they always recommend. Well I would go bankrupt paying $5500 to fix a car that's worth $4000 so I called a friend of mine that's a mechanic. He told me that he would do the VCT actuator and the brakes for $1200. So I went back to FTH and they told me that I owed them $300 for the diagnosis. I begrudgingly payed the $300 and drove the car to Liberty Hill to the other mechanic. He opened the hood and immediately checked the oil. The oil was 2.5 quarts low! He told me that this was the cause of the noise . He refilled the oil and the noise is gone. There is NO PROBLEM WITH THE VCT ACTUATOR OR TIMING CHAIN. No reason to replace it. It just needed oil! He told me to start checking the oil every other fill up. He also was flabbergasted that FTH would send me home in a vehicle 2.5 quarts low on oil! Especially after paying $300 for basically nothing. Look I know that checking the oil is my responsibility. However this dealership charged me $300 and unnecessarily diagnosed the problem for a $3000 VCT actuator and timing chain that didn't need to be replaced. Then they knowingly sent me home 2.5 quarts low without even offering to fill the oil. I will not be coming back. read more

I'm a cynic when it comes to dealerships doing car repair. They often cut corners, have poor communication, and are prohibitively overpriced. I brought my 2013 Civic Hybrid in for, what I anticipated was a very serious problem with the hybrid battery. Jake Meyer was my service advisor. After I elected to have $99 bumper-to-bumper check-up, I told him explicitly not to do ANYTHING to my car without consent. The very next day I was sent a text message with a complete video of the inspection of my car performed by Augustine Gonzales. Not only was it comprehensive, showing everything from my engine to the undercarriage and tire wear, but it was professionally edited so I didn't have to wait and watch as they went from one location to the next! I was informed the problem w/ my car was covered under a recall, so not only was there no charge to fix it, but they also waived the $99 inspection fee completely. They even awaited my okay before performing the free service, as I asked. I spoke with Anne on the phone, who was incredibly friendly and professional, and because Jake was out, Zach Clark stepped in. He was already aware of what was done to my car, so no re-explaining. I was able to pick my car up two days before anticipated. I made my way to the counter and without a second of wait time, Bryan Hook gave me a friendly greeting and immediately showed me to my car. Simply put, I have never used a car repair entity that was so on-point with communication and professionalism. I have never been so pleasantly surprised by the quality of work and the speed/efficiency with which it was done. True professionalism in all aspects! read more

My wife and I went to purchase a used vehicle at First Texas. I typically don't like dealing with dealerships, especially with used cars. However, I will admit, I felt they (Brandon & TJ) did a nice job dealing with us. It did not feel like a "typical" experience at a dealership since they seemed fair in what they offered for our trade-in as well as the purchase price of the used vehicle. The only reason I did not give five (5) stars is during the finance portion of the deal, we felt like a high-pressure salesman wanted to sell us extended warranties. He indicated that oil changes with tire rotations cost $150. Not sure where he goes to get this work done, but we usually get synthetic oil changes with tire rotations for somewhere in the vicinity of $75 (half of what he said they cost). People hate being pressured to buy things and I suspect they get commissions for making these types of sales. read more

The salesman indicated that they don't work off commission, so their first estimate was exactly what I intended to pay and a very reasonable market value. I was in out very quick and had a pleasant experience. I intended to buy a new Honda in 2021 and even had a a deposit on one but due to the shortage ended up going a different way. I bought my car here and the staff are all very pleasant to work with. I like to get my oil changed here even though I can get it done cheaper at other places. I'd recommend making an appointment if you want to be out in less than an hour for their express service. Without an appointment it can take 2-3 hours. I don't mind waiting since they have a coffee bar that makes decent drinks and provide snacks and fruit also. You also get a free car wash and multipoint inspection so you can know what you need to keep an eye on. read more

Not good experience with First Texas Honda eventhough I didnt even bother to haggle and paid over 54K for a 22 Odyssey Elite. Bought a 22 Elite with salesman name Sean Shields. 1. Did Not provide a copy of purchase order. Incorrect ETA of the vehicle - Aug 28th was the ETA . Sean assured me he would be in touch and update me on the ETA. Never did until the vehicle arrived yesterday 9/2 2. Miscommunication on financing. With an excellent credit I have and a credit union willing to lend me the loan, Sean reluctantly sends a purchase order with an old date and with the dealer information chopped off and wouldn't send me a correct one even after pointing it. 3. Sales manager Yelena  assures me she would match the rate I'm getting. But until the day of purchase I had to keep reminding both Sean and Yelena ( who was difficult to get hold of ) of this. 4. Finance guy taunts me on the low miles I drive annually - He tells me to get Uber instead of buying a car for the low miles I drive. Is this the way you all treat your customers ? Salesman Ron on the other hand was great to deal with. Even Though I had no intention of buying a used vehicle, he still went the extra mile to show me a previous year Elite since you all didn't have a new one I could test drive. That's what made me choose First Texas Honda. Unfortunately I got Sean Shields assigned to me who did a pathetic job. Added later Contacted their manager Bill Ford. Asks for all the details and then tells me he will use my information for improvement. Nothing for me and no apologies. Courteous but recklessly incompetent and/or careless. On two occasions my car was undriveable after going in for routine service. Both instances were the result of carelessness on the part of their technicians (by their own admission). The first problem occurred when they failed to properly secure the shield for the oil pan, which partially detached while I was on the highway, scraping along the road and making a truly horrible sound. The service department did fix it at no additional charge and in my naivety I didn't think to ask for compensation for the tow and roadside service. The second time happened when they identified a leak with my transmission fluid. They replaced the differential axle seals to address the problem. However, they did not put the parts in properly (which they admitted) so that practically all of the transmission fluid blew out of the car . . . on the highway. Incidentally, no lights or indicators provide warning for this sort of thing. The car just feels off when accelerating, until it slowly grinds to a halt. They graciously offered to send a tow truck to bring me back to the dealership and fix the problem. The truck arrived after an hour and a half once I personally called the tow company, since my contact at the dealership gave the wrong location and somewhere along the lines of communication, the tow service had a garbled version of my phone number and hadn't been able to contact me. Initially, the service center agreed to cover the cost of the tow, provide me with a loaner, and fix the problem at no additional charge. This was all on Saturday. After hearing nothing from them for a couple of days I called and they said everything was fixed, the fluid had been cleaned up from under the car, and explained to me exactly what they had done wrong. When I came in to pick up my car they had misplaced my records and my car, due to more errors in recording either my name or the name of the person who took over my case after the original fellow went on vacation. Eventually they did return my car to me. I wanted my car looked over by a different set of eyes and found a reputable local shop. The dealership agreed that if there were further problems with their work on the axle seal discovered, they would cover the expense. The local repair shop found so much transmission fluid on the underside of the vehicle that they weren't sure whether there was a leak or not. So either the dealership didn't clean up the fluid very well, or there's still a leak. They asked me to drive the car around for a bit before they'll be confident in diagnosing the matter. The people at the dealership have been perfectly nice. But I just need my car taken care of, not dumb jokes or folksy anecdotes. I can't trust that my car will be safe to drive after visiting the First Texas Honda Service Department. read more

Our family took our seldomly used CR-V to First Texas Honda due to the factory airbag recall. They did the recall work and made an "inspection" of the vehicle. They produced a laundry list of problems no Honda with under 60,000 miles should have. Skeptically we took the vehicle to Great Hills Automotive for a second opinion. They concurred with me that the list was, as they put it, "BS". You'd expect this from the Dodge dealer or even Chevy. But one comes to expect more from Honda. I guess no "Stealership" is immune to the temptation of this low-down, revenue generating tactic. Just a shame... Bottom line.... avoid the dealership and find a reliable mechanic in your neighborhood. read more

I have been trying to contact the dealership for a month now to get a cancellation for some insurance coverage I purchased with the vehicle. No response. Nothing. My recommendation is to be extra cautious with the type (optional, right to cancel, etc) and cost of the insurance / warranty contracts you are being proposed when buying your vehicle. I now have to go to BBB to file a claim. I am going from First Texas Honda to Last Texas Honda. read more

Honda Financial Services took $600 out of my bank account on Saturday for no reason. My bill isnt even close to the date they withdrew it from. It left me incredibly behind and negative on my accounts. Because Financial Services is closed on weekends (which if they can take my money without cause on a weekend, they should also be open on the weekend to take customer support calls), I had to call the dealership to try and find a soulation as I was going to be left without anyway to eat over the weekend. Well Honda gave me the run around until finally after several calls they put me in touch with the manager who not only spent the entire phone call deflecting blame, but also was unconcerned and ultimately lied to shut me up and get me off the phone. Spent the whole weekend penniless. They do not care about their customers. read more
