I don't recommend this spot for vegans. On the online menu it says it has vegan options. 3 options are not vegan options. The restaurant was packed and they didn't clean the chairs or table before our group sat down. Yuck! The waitress had such a nasty attitude. I asked for vegan options and she said she doesn't know. You should be trained on the menu thoroughly! There are many vegans in Arizona. She brought out a menu that I had to look through to see which items contained dairy? Huh vegan items aren't just items that don't contain dairy. She seemed agitated when she sat down to look through the menu to see what I could eat. I really like this restaurant. My only issue is the seating where you sit on a wall and other people sit by you. My husband and I had a great first experience here. We were seated right away- no wait. I ordered an iced coffee which was delicious. I ordered the traditional breakfast and my husband ordered a hash I believe. Food was great and came out pretty quickly. I decided to try this restaurant on my second day in Arizona for breakfast. I will say this the place is extremely well kept and was busy the morning I went. I decided to order the French toast with sausage and my partner ordered the pancakes and million dollar bacon. I didn't really exactly enjoy my French toast because it wasn't interesting. The flavors were just ordinary and lacked any crunch or excitement. The syrup was runny and felt watery and tasted as if. The million dollar bacon wasn't in my opinion good and felt like it had too much black pepper and parsley or basil or both. Always a fan of First Watch, I noticed that there were locations in the Phoenix area. I was here on a work trip and excited to spend my lunch break having a late breakfast at one of my favorite breakfast spots. First Watch has always been very consistent for me. Upon arrival, I had to wait 15 minutes for someone to even notice I was standing there. With sort of a bad taste in my mouth, I was finally seated at a booth by the window. My server-Alex was super sweet and attentive the entire time so made up for the difficult, post lunch-rush wait. I decided to go for the quinoa breakfast bowl, as I have never tried that before. I usually always get an oatmeal banana pancake but I opted for no sweets this time around. I also got a cup of their delicious coffee. Everything came out within 10 minutes without very much of a wait. I also ordered a side of avocado which was very inexpensive to do. Overall, I think my breakfast was about $20. There was nothing too special about this specific location, but the menu options are great and so was the service-once I was seated. It's also incredibly affordable. I could take this location or leave it, for the first time, First Watch wasn't as consistent as I had hoped, but it was worth a try. The food is really good! Unfortunately the wait times, staff and pricing don't outweigh the positive. We arrived today and were told a 15 meeting wait. 35 minutes later we were seated. On the way to our seats, we spotted 3 couples that came in after us. We ordered immediately and continued to wait for the food. Two of the orders were wrong and the server only checked on as after I stared him down. $45 later and 1:30 spent....we won't go back! Update: I was contacted by First Watch and asked to try again. We used the app this time and had a great experience with little wait. Use the app if going on the weekend. Bottom line, they reached out via phone and do care about their customers. Came with my boyfriend on a Sunday afternoon, because we received a BOGO entree mailer. I had been to a different location once before and it was good so I thought we would give this one a try since it was new to the area. We were greeted by a gentleman who politely took my name and number down and stated that it would be approximately a 5-10 min wait. We immediately noticed the time and money it took them to make the restaurant look the way it did- a modern, farm-house dining room instantly came to mind. Every detail was a nice touch to the experience of dining in. Although we waited longer than we anticipated for our food to be served to us, it was worth the few extra minutes it took the kitchen to prepare it. My brunch choice (AM Super food bowl) came recommended from a Yelp reviewer so I decided to give it a try. I also ordered a side of Millionare's Bacon because well, why not? My boyfriend ordered the Tri-fecta. Everything tasted divine. The bacon was peppered to perfection with a drizzle of maple syrup; the toast served with my bowl was thick and slathered in almond butter. The pudding accompanied with the various fruit and granola toppings was something my palette thoroughly enjoyed. What we thought was a triple berry jam on his Tri-fecta is something worth tasting- some of the best I've ever had. The Carrot, Ginger Chai is a seasonal drink that was absolutely delicious. I love this place! Great place for brunch. GET THE AM SUPERFOOD BOWL. It has coconut pudding chia, fruit, granola, and preserves. It is so so amazing and a great dish to share as a starter. I also recommend the avocado toast (great bread) and the chicken pesto power protein bowl. It comes with chicken, roasted tomatoes, quinoa, kale, and some herbs on top. Super good for lunch! We were looking for a brunch spot and yelp returned Hash Kitchen as one of the results. However, the wait was almost an hour and the music was so loud we felt like we were at a club. We decided not to eat there and instead opted to check out First Watch. Yelp allowed us to put ourselves on the waitlist for First Watch so by the time we arrived they were ready to seat us. The dining atmosphere and ambiance was so much better at First Watch than Hash Kitchen. We were so happy about this! The menu options also had a good variety including the nice traditional breakfast for those that are not so adventurous (or not feeling well as was the case for someone in our party that wanted something nice and simple). Their coffee is unlimited and they give you your own pot of coffee which impressed me! I was also impressed that they have their own ketchup and the ingredients are very natural (see picture). We are always looking for restaurants that serve natural food where everything is not smoked and doesn't have a ton of ingredients. Our server was super friendly and attentive. When it came time to pay, the bill was sorted out per person in case we wanted to split the bill. I really liked that they offered this payment option! Overall a wonderful experience here and we'd definitely come back the next time we're in town visiting. read more

To start, I have never been here before and I strictly came in because of their marketing free entree promotion. My girlfriend has been to a different location before and said it was good so we decided to give brunch a go. Showing up we were immediately placed on the list which they said would take about 10 minutes and we would be texted when it was ready. This feature alone is very nice - showing they actually have a real system rather than yelling someone's name into a crowd. When we were seated 5 minutes later we immediately talked about how nice the restaurant looked and the money they must have put into it. The ambience was casual with every table filled. Right away we were given our own pitcher of water, which naturally eases the load on a busy waiter or waitress and I definitely prefer it as I drink a ton of water. The only comment I will have to address previous reviews is while our order was taken minutes after we sat down it did take a bit long, maybe 20 minutes or so, to receive our meals as well as more water. I'm chalking it up as our waitress took a quick break because we didn't see her for that time. Otherwise, this place was refreshing and satisfying for brunch and I highly recommend it. Pricing was standard and fair in my opinion. The quality of the food was up there filling. I ordered the Tri-fecta which came with a waffle, choice of meat, and two eggs. The jam alone made the meal for me - absolutely delicious. Try it out if you haven't already and utilize the option to add yourself to the waitlist on your way over if there is a line. Food is really good and tasty. Service needs work. Came here around 1pm with the place pretty empty literally maybe 5 to 7 other people maybe 2 parties. Were seated very quickly and drinks were ordered. Took some time to get our food orders but it was a hassle to get any servers when needed they were all too busy messing around in the kitchen standing around talking rather than serving customers. It wasn't pleasing watching a worker on her way out play with her hair while another worker was preparing food. We were there 1.5hrs and not once did server check in we had to catch him when he rarely emerged from socializing in the kitchen. I believe in the 1.5 hrs we saw him 3x and 2 were to be seated and get our orders. I def will not be back with that kind of service and almost was hesitant to tip but gave them 10% vs my norm of 20 to 25% . read more

I really want to like this place. The service is always poor, It's as if the servers dread going to work everyday and put in minimal effort to make sure you feel welcomed or take care of you. The avocado toast was big enough to be a sufficient meal so I will give them that, but the bacon tasted and resembled cardboard. This location is the smallest of the five (maybe six) locations I've visited, but the food and service were just as good as the others. I had planned to enjoy more of the spiced pancakes on National Pancake Day, but the Pumpkin pancake breakfast only comes with one pumpkin pancake, and I wanted at least a two-stack. I'd meant to ask if I may request for another cake, but forgot when I placed my order for blueberry pancakes. I thought mom would enjoy the mushroom frittata, since it was a clear favorite amongst friends during the Make A Wish Yelp event last month. I asked her if she liked it, and she said she did, but I think she enjoyed the pancakes, with blueberry compote and bacon more. I do know that she really liked the ciabatta toast paired with the goat cheese that sat atop of the frittata. I found the pancakes a tad sweeter than I like them, but I enjoyed the pancakes' textures. These cakes were big, too, so great value there. The bacon were four for $4.80, and I found them to be too salty. Will skip them next time. Good food from a seasonal menu and consistent, friendly service will bring us back, and what makes me admire this restaurant chain (and I try to avoid national chains) even more are: -the paper-based to-go boxes! -pure maple syrup offered (add'l fee; less than $2 in a refillable travel-sized bottle)! -carafes of coffee and water on table! It was da bomb! we also shared the cinnamon chip pancake breakfast, which was very yummy and the hacienda hash. It was good but a very small portion. The wait to be seated and to receive our food was pretty lengthy. Service was fair. The pricing was just meh.
