This used to be my go to or lunch. Their roast beef and havarti was my favorite. That sandwich is unrecognizable today. We were ignored while others were served ahead of us. Waited 35 minutes before we got the attention of our waiter and we're able to order. Waited another 10 minutes to get coffee, never mind the rest of our order. The waiter was apologetic, and they looked busy, but several other tables were served ahead of us, so I think it boils down to bad management. The food (eggs Benedict) was below average as the eggs were severely undercooked, even for poached eggs. So in addition to waiting too long, I was let down by the quality of the food as well. We decided to try First Wat h to see why everyone loves this place... well we still can't figure it out. We visited the one on Clarkson and it was nothing special. Our server was less than attentive. She asked if I wanted coffee and I said yes and my hubby would want some as well. When he returned to our table she came over never said a word and my hubby says "Hi".. she never acknowledged him. Now on the the food...she never asked if everything was good etc.. never checked on us... oh ..just to give us the check.. I had a Trifecta Breakfast Plate.. let's just say I was still hungry after I licked my plate clean. We slso had a pick 2... with a Sandwich and Cobb Salad. It was blah... no flavor. The salad dressing was just a runny mess. I know this is a chain but not sure I will go back as everything probably (food wise) is the same. I come here all the time with my parents. It's close to their house and one of my favorite breakfast spots. This place can get busy, so it's not a bad idea to check the wait online prior to arrival. The staff is always so friendly and attentive. They move a lot of people through so the service is efficient and quick, but without making you feel rushed. They have a variety of breakfast options with tons of healthy choices. You can substitute with egg whites and they serve lightly dressed greens on the side. They also have seasonal specials and indulgent options such a pumpkin pancakes. The staff leaves coffee on the table, so you're never without a refill. A coworker invited me here for a working meeting this morning. I've not been in a long time, so I was excited to see what the specials were. I ended up ordered a blueberry pancake - yes just one... it was VERY large. Larger than a regular size plate! The blueberries were cooked just right. Their butter is some of the fluffiest I've had (I need lotssss of butter on pancakes) and it tasted AMAZING! The syrup was served warm in a lil bottle and it was also good. Great service, great waffles, the issue is with eggs and breakfast meats. Specifically, the eggs: I have ordered them fried (yoke only), scrambled (two bites) and in omelettes ( tissue paper thin). Are they that expensive or are they quail eggs? The breakfast meats: one small piece of sausage or two very small pieces of bacon. Headed here for brunch one morning and had a few too many alcohol drinks the night before. Needed some delicious sustenance. Honestly this place served the most delicious avocado toast I have ever had. The toast was thick cut and the avocado layer even thicker. It had a bit of citrus to it and it was salted perfectly. I came here once on Saturday morning and again today. I was hoping it would be pretty good since everyone was raving about it on Yelp. However, once I got there I could see why everyone enjoys this place so much. For starters, you can check the line on Yelp which is awesome because you can put your name down on the list before you even leave the house. The only other place that does that around here that I have seen is the Pancake House. I love that I can do this and know when I need to check in with the host/hostess when my table is ready. Secondly, have you seen their menu? They have a variety of things to offer from pancakes, omlettes, fruit, and even their delicious AM Superfoods Bowl. My personal favorite is the AM Superfoods Bowl. It is rich from the coconut milk and the granola and fresh berries give it so much more flavor! Plus it is served with two slices of toast with almond butter on top. If you think it won't be enough food, you might be mistaken! It has over 1000 calories (which I found out the second time I ate there lol) but will fill you up without you having to get an extra side of potatoes. Trust me, I tried that and I was way too full to eat the potatoes, which are also just as delicious tasting. Their coffee is really good too and usually they leave a carafe at the table so you can pour your own refill until it is empty. I like this because I never have to wait to get topped off. Since this place is always busy in the mornings, having the carafe aids in my love for coffee. Every breakfast/brunch place in town was packed on Labor Day. Fortunately, I was able to use the waitlist option in yelp and greatly reduce our in-house wait. Though it was evident that they'd been busy all morning, each staff member was courteous and kind. From the host that greeted and seated us to our server and food runners, everyone seemed happy to be there. We were all pleased when our food arrived quickly. I was curious to see how well the kids multigrain pancakes were received and it seems that the kids didn't realize they were eating "healthier" pancakes. My kid especially enjoyed her green kale tonic. I'm not really a breakfast person so it was nice to see some lunch offerings as well. Called in order 30 minutes before closing so I could watch the Nathan's hot dog eating contest! Staff was super friendly. Food ready at the promised time. The blueberry pancake was tasty. It was fluffy and had a nice texture. Not too dense. Not dry. They had butter, cherry preserves, and syrup. Always appreciated when getting carry out. I enjoyed the cheery preserve but ate most of the pancake just plain. Definitely a sign of a good pancake when I don't need syrup or anything. Power wrap was really good. Plenty of flavor and somewhat healthy with the egg whites, turkey, spinach, Swiss, mushrooms. The fruit bowl was good. Banana. Honeydew. Grapes. Strawberries. Bubba's Benny was good. Just had breakfast here over the week end, returning from FLA. Food was delicious, served quickly and staff was extremely friendly. I happen to leave an envelope of cash on the table and a day later called the restaurant, I knew it was a long shot that anyone would turn in it, BUT I could not believe it, BRIAN the manager, told me he had it and would keep it safe until I was able to get there to pick it up. I was in complete shock. Brian has restored my faith in humankind. I was so appreciative to him and the staff for their honesty. Sadly this was not the best first watch experience. The food took over 20 min to come out (which is an eternity at first watch) and they gave my wife the wrong order. She had to wait another 15min for the remake and it still wasnt what she ordered. The salmon benedict tasted rushed and was missing seasoning, onions, and hollandaise. She ordered the eggs medium and they came out runny. It was possibly the worst tasting dish I've had here. My roast beef sandwich was sub par too. It was cold and barely toasted. Cheese wasnt even melted. Basically a cold cut sandwich. The dressed greens were a joke too. I don't like much dressing normally but there was only a dribble on the whole pile of lettuce. On the positive side, the manager did comp the meal for us and sent me home with a soup to go but I have had way better first watch experiences elsewhere so will not likely come back to this location. This was a 2 star experience but I gave 3 stars for the effort they put in to make up for their failure. read more

However, the dish does not come with potatoes as stated on the menu and my order was apparently "given to another table " so I had to wait longer. I just picked up from this location and ordered curbside pickup. We didn't order drinks because they were over priced. When we went to get the food out of the bag, one of our orders containers was not closed when it was bagged and it spilled all over. The sandwich we ordered was requested to be made with no avocado, yet it had avocado on it. The eggs that were supposed to be made over easy were fully cooked and not at all made to order. From 3 to a 2...this location is clearly on a mission south (downhill). I called at 11:46am today; as I wanted to place a takeout order while in route to the restaurant. I was about 10 minutes out and figured by the time I arrived it'd be ready to grab & go. I spoke with the waitress over the phone and placed my "very specific, extremely simple" order. Me: I'll have one pumpkin pancake. Plain! No butter, no syrup, no powder sugar. Just 1 pumpkin pancake. Waitress: Ok, no problem it'll be ready in 5-10 minutes. Me: Perfect. I arrived a few minutes before noon (approximately 10-12 minutes from the original time of my call-in order) only to be told that my order was not ready yet. Fine, I take a seat...a 10 minute seat! If I wanted to wait 20 minutes for a single pancake I would've opted to dine-in. Finally the order arrives at 12:06pm, I settle my check & head out the door. It's habit for me to check my food before leaving an establishment, quality control ya know. Welp, glad I did because the pancake was cold to the touch, had no utensils or napkins. I marched my unhappy ass back inside to let the cashier know my pancake was cold and he asked if I wanted them to make another one. "Uh yeah". Again, I wait...as I wait I asked for a manager and the gentlemen posing as the cashier stated he was an acting manager for the day (Mike, the store manager was not available). I expressed my disappointment. I placed a very simple order, I waited patiently only to be served a cold pancake and how better to half-ass a takeout customer than to neglect adding essentials such as utensils to the bag. He made several excuses mixed in with a insincere apology & ended with a gift card. I appreciated the gesture but I frequent First Watch locations for sport and paying for my food is never a problem. He could've kept the excuses because they were borderline insulting. When I stated there weren't even utensils in the bag he countered it with, "Well there must've been some miscommunication between you & the waitress because she thought you said plain." Yes, I certainly did say plain. The pancake I received was plain indeed. The order was placed correctly. But wtf does that have to do with supplying takeout orders with STANDARD eating tools such as utensil & napkin?! I was over it and by this time my new pancake stood a chance of getting cold. We used to go here semi-frequently for Sunday breakfast until we moved to the now closed La Especial. I always prefer Mexican breakfast. However, First Watch is OK. It is not special, but the service is good and I like the Veg-Out omelette. It is not drenched in cheese and the vegetables are crisp. They also have very good sausage patties. Plenty of sage, but about right. I would put First Watch on a par with Bob Evans for breakfast. It is not quite as good as The Hearth Room or Gingham's. Their attempts at Mexican or Southwestern breakfast are not particularly good if you like good Mexican style breakfast dishes. read more

I come to First Watch in Town and Country often and I am usually pleased with service but today we waited more than an hour to get a table for 8 people . We were the only group waiting for the last 30 minutes and everyone who walked in was seated immediately. When we offered to split to two groups they still wanted to skip us. The lady who was in charge today (2/24/19) was rude and didn't show any respect. If you are a large group I do not recommend this place for you. read more

We missed the breakfast rush....yes, even on a week day you can expect a wait. On the weekend expect a long wait...maybe 30-45 minutes. Excellent service. Food brought out in a reasonable time, hot and fresh. You can't go wrong with any of the eggs Benedict options. I would recommend the BLT one. Served with a small dish of fruit (think shot glass size). The chickichanga has a lot of flavor in every bite (chorizo sausage, avocado, chicken, green chili's and cheeses rolled in a tortilla...ask for extra sauce) but not spicy hot, just flavorful. Also served with fruit and a side of seasoned potatoes. Potatoes are good but if you ask (not on the menu) for Scott's pots your potato side will come out topped with deliciousness but on the spicy side. Really a treat. Pay at the register near the door.
