Covid has made it challenging to find restaurants that are adhering to ways to help you enjoy a site down meal. First Watch nails it perfectly. The staff is wearing masks, wiping down tables and everyone is spaced out. But onto the food I had the skillet with potatoes, cremini mushrooms, Italian sausage crumbles, tomatoes, caramelized onions and topped with a fried egg. My wife had the Crab Avocado Toast and loved it. The million dollar bacon is a must as well as the cheesy grits. read more

We've been to a couple of First Watch locations and the food has always been excellent. This location is NOT one of them. When a ham and Greyere cheese omelet tastes bland, there is a problem somewhere. The ham was a single slice of processed sandwich meat and the omelet had brown crispy edges, about an inch into the omelet. In other words, overcooked. My wife ordered a diet coke and it arrived looking more like a glass of tea. If I'm going to pay $20 for a breakfast meal, I certainly expect something better than this. When you walk out the restaurant and see a McDonalds across the parking lot and simultaneously say "we should have just eaten there" indicates that low quality can be had at a much lower price point. read more

I love this place! I've never eaten inside, I always get it to go! The wait can be a little long but it is so well worth! My favorite are the lemon curd pancakes! The curd sauce that the put on the pancakes is mouthwatering and leave no room for syrup! I also like the vegetable frittata with grilled onions, portobello mushrooms and sundried tomatoes! I skip the potatoes and get the mixed greens with it! It also has a lemon vinaigrette dressing that comes with it....yum! The food is so good and I'll be so hungry that I forget to take pictures! The vibes were immaculate. We had to wait about an hour and fifteen for our table but we had a really large group and it was the day after thanksgiving, so to be expected really. Our server Maddy was pretty chill and handled our multiple orders as best she could. The food was good for the most part. It was my first time having eggs Benedict so my opinion ought not be taken too serious. I am a connoisseur of home fries and juices. The home fries were unfortunately undercooked and hard. They were flavored well, but need more time. The drink "morning meditation," was a dream. The tumeric, orange juice, ginger and beet all worked together to have me reach nirvana. 10/10 on that side of things. Also had some donut holes/pancake bites. Those were a thing of beauty as well. This food chain is hit or miss. I ate a seasonal brisket bowl a couple years ago that was AMAZING and they have yet to bring that exact item back. That being said, their regular menu items are just okay. Their grits are not good. I don't suggest them. Could be the type of grits, but they are very grainy. And I really wanted to like them. The carrot cake pancake was huge, but nothing to order again. The ham and Gruyère omelette was so dry. It was like a stack of deli meat and some cheese folded into an egg. Maybe if they added a sauce and didn't just pile the meat in there like that. I do NOT suggest it. I have not tried the entire menu so I wouldn't discourage visiting this establishment. They are always packed so clearly people like it, and I haven't written them off completely. I do think a little more care goes into the seasonal items though. The service is great. Their staff is always smiling, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu items. read more

I was so disappointed in this visit. I fell in love with First watch in Matthews, North Carolina. Honestly, I expected the same service and quality of food unfortunately my expectations were not met. The food was delicious just as it is at the other restaurant but the customer service was mediocre. The foot traffic was steady. Our waitress was named Stephanie. We had to ask her several times for condiments. We asked other waitresses to bring the tab over so that we could check out. I wasn't offered a refill or another serving of the morning meditation drink. My smoked Salmon bagel was definitely something to rave about. I took myself on a Solo brunch to First Watch. It wasn't too crowded and I didn't have a reservation but was seated fairly quickly. It took a while for my server to come but when she arrived she was super sweet and accommodating. They didn't have mimosas so I just settled with the water. I read rave reviews about the lemon ricotta pancakes so I ordered it with a side of bacon. It was pretty good but my pancakes were cold. I packed it up to go and warmed it up at home. We have been to many First Watch locations over the years. Pretty rare to have a bad meal.. but this place takes the cake. We were seated pretty quickly as we arrived for an early lunch/late breakfast. The place was busy but not full. It was quite clear that they had plenty of wait staff, but we began to worry when people who were waiting for food when we walked in were still waiting for their food 20 minutes after we ordered. It took 45 minutes for our food to arrive and when it did, my wife's sandwich was basically bread and lemon lettuce with very egg or avocado on it. I enjoyed my skillet but it wasn't worth the long wait. read more

The food was good but took nearly an hour to get after a 25 minute wait...one dish which was cold and second 5 minutes later popping hot. If the young lady with long hair was the manager she needs a lesson in floor to table management and hair hygiene in a restaurant. I like First Watch but I was not too impressed with this location. My friend and I went in on a Friday afternoon and had a thirty minute wait. We were seated in a small booth near the front of the door and we were immediately greeted by our server. I asked for an orange juice and a water but only received an orange juice. I asked again and was brought a water with no ice...weird but okay. I ordered the trifecta and when it arrived everything was lukewarm. We had to ask for syrup at least two times before we got it. I ate it and didn't want to complain. Everything was good but I was disappointed with the food temp and the listening skills of the server. I'm not sure what's going on here since that seems to be the trending problem at this store. The staff can also be a little more kempt. Given the terrible sanitation store rating of 94, i wasn't surprised based off these waiters/waitresses attire. The food was good but there's no way in hell I'm waiting that long for this food again. I was pretty excited when construction started on this place. My husband and I discovered First Watch last year on a visit to Daytona Beach. I loved it so much that we went twice that weekend. Apparently locals and Yelpers loved it too, it had amazing reviews. First visit to the new Concord location left something to be desired. Honestly, the vibe is very different here, not as busy as the Daytona location at all and I visited on a bustling Saturday afternoon. To my surprise there were plenty of parking spaces available. Inside, the greeter was not very friendly, she very quickly told us to have a seat until the table was ready, which took just about a minute or less, so I was confused by the pushy demeanor. The restaurant overall gave IHOP vibes. Weird. Something about the marketing, maybe decor/furniture and definitely the food. I started out with the iced chai cider, a seasonal drink which was ok. For my meal I got the lemon ricotta pancakes and a side of million dollar bacon. The pancakes - I absolutely hated them. I was hungry so I ate them, but when the server brought out the plate and I saw what looked like canned lemon curd on top, I had a bad feeling. I was right. The pancakes were thick, a little dry and the taste of lemon was too strong for my liking, it was like someone poured a bottle of extract in the batter. Even if I gave First Watch another try, I wouldn't order these again. Very disappointed because I don't think I've ever ordered a lemon ricotta pancake I didn't like until now. The bacon was amazing, just as I remembered it, although it had just a little too much syrup, but still pretty tasty overall with the right amount of spice and crunch. With so many good food options in the area, I hope the opening "jitters" get worked out soon or I have a feeling this may not be around for too long. read more

We went on opening weekend at about 9ish wasn't super crowded but we had a 5-10 min wait. It was a party of two. Once seated the waiter came out quick and went over the menu. I decided to go with the Belgium waffle, eggs and turkey sausage, the other party went with blueberry pancakes, eggs and bacon. The many different dishes that were coming out to other parties looked really good. I wanted to try so many different things. I truly fell in love with the Belgium waffle, it was light fluffy, crisp and really good. I know two waffles would be too much but it's really good. I had a online order at 9:59 AM and it was supposed to be ready at 10:07 I got there at10:10 and my order wasn't ready so I decided to wait and I even told the lady working the name of the order and she said wait for a bit their "probably" packaging the order. After 30 minutes I still haven't received my order and other people have been getting sat and receiving doordash and online order and I asked one customer when did they place their order and they said 10:29 and this was after she already got her food so I waited for another hour and finally another worker came up to me and asked if im waiting for a online order and I said yes then he went to the back and checked and after checking he came to me and said that the Lady that was working at the front apparently gave my order to someone else. I told that lady my name and apparently she didn't even bother to check to whoever it was, she decided to give a random man my order without even checking. read more

We walked in and got on the wait list, unfortunately we had to wait much longer than we were told, and others were seated before us even though they came in after us. We spoke with the manager and he took great care of us. He made sure we were seated right away. We placed our order and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The food was very good and the portions were sufficient for the cost. The place was clean and our server was very friendly. I was so excited to see that First Watch was here in Charlotte. I originally tried First Watch Im Ny and loved it. Wasn't disappointed. I brought my mom which is on the picky side and she enjoyed her breakfast. But definitely the star of the show was the blueberry pancake sooooo good. The order did come out cold and i felt the waitress (Julia) didn't explain a dish very well so unfortunately i had to send it back but she was super sweet about it and brought me my order just as i liked. I have been a huge First Watch fan since my husband first introduced me to it. We try to go there to eat whenever we are in a city with one. Needless to say I was super excited that one was built close to me. This was my first time visiting since they opened. I arrived around 2pm with a party of 3 adults and 2 children. Pros: the food was wonderful as usual. Cons: I did have to ask for extra dressing for my salad greens as they were almost bare. My husband did not care for the sweet tea and switched to a soda instead. The service was a bit meh. Half of our food orders came out. Then there was about a 5 min wait before the other orders came out. My husband had to wait on and ask for drink refills. Our waitress was nice just not as attentive as I would have preferred. I will note that it was close to closing time. Giving them 4 stars for now....I do plan to return to see if it was just an off day for customer service. read more

We joined the waiting list via the app about 10 minutes before leaving our house and waiting about 30 minutes once we arrived which was great for this beautiful Sunday! The only reason I am giving this review a 3 star is because the service was good. The waitress got my order quickly and was very attentive. That being said, the food wasn't good. My eggs were supposed to be over medium and came out well done, the whole grain pancake didn't taste whole grain and the bacon (which I typically love) came out cold and didn't taste like the typical million dollar bacon. Super disappointed. This is the first time I have tried this location, I went pretty regularly in Colorado and it was always good. The server was awesome but food not unfortunately.
