Waitress was rude. Walked away from me mid-sentence while I was giving an order. Tried to correct me while I was ordering my drink. I tried to point to the menu to show what I wanted and interrupted to ask if I needed more time. Food was bad. Bread wasn't toasted, fish tasted like it was Luke warm. That's scary. Did not ask if I wanted a refill. Never checked on me while I was eating. Simply brought the check then tried to be nice so she could a decent tip. I'll not be going back. read more

I love brunch. You say brunch. I say what time and I'll be there. However, this place was just... ok. The avocado toast was a good portion so no complaints there and it satisfied the hipster in me who could eat avocados every day in any form you throw in front of me but the place just wasn't my vibe. Service was fine. No one else in my party had anything bad to say about their food. Just... nothing super special about it. Maybe one day I'll venture to another location and give it another try but with so many other amazing brunch/lunch spots around town, it's a little unlikely. This location seems to be less busy than the other two in town. It is a bit smaller in actual size. The coffee is ALWAYS good. The food lacks a lot of flavor. It seems to all be fresh, but lacking in seasoning. The service at this location is quite lackluster. They seem to be scattered and disorganized. One star, only because I can't put zero star. I took my family to this restaurant for a brunch. The wait outside was not very long because we checked-in online. The problem began after we sat down on our table. It took about 15 minutes before our waitress asked us what drinks we wanted and another 10 minutes before she returned, but his was not really a big deal. 40 minutes after our waitress took our orders, we still didn't get our food or hear anything from the waitress. I approached one of the staff and asked for the manager, it just so happened that he was the manager. He said his name is Jamison; I told him that it's been 40 mins and we haven't received our food. During this conversation, our food was finally being served when I turned to our table. I asked the manager if it was normal for them to take this long to serve their food, at this point, he laughed and told me we're busy. I've eaten at first watch in Jacksonville, NC which is much bigger and busier than this branch, but the service was outstanding. Our food was delivered on a timely manner. After our experience, I reviewed the previous reviews on Yelp and it seemed that this problem happens a lot in this specific branch. Yes, the food was good, but the service is terrible. Personally speaking, this is a management issue. The current manager doesn't have the ability to effectively lead and manage his crew. If this man can't be replaced, give him the proper training to set him up for success. Based on the previous reviews, this issue has been brought up and neither the franchise owner or corporate did anything to fix this problem. This is the fastest way to loose your regular customers. I DON'T RECOMMEND eating at this restaurant and I will definitely not be returning. read more

It was nice to see another First Watch in Knoxville that was a little closer to home. We've been to the other Knoxville location a handful of times and have always enjoyed our experience at First Watch. We didn't have to wait very long on a Sunday afternoon to be seated, and we were quickly offered and brought coffee and water. I ordered two pancakes with a side of sourdough toast, which were all delicious (well, as much as I could eat- as those pancakes are huge). My boyfriend enjoyed the trifecta where he switched the waffle/pancake option out for french toast. All of the food was delicious, hot, and fresh, and our service was extremely friendly and helpful (thank you, Stacy!) Our only complaint was that the trifecta only included one sausage, but it was still rather filling. As usual, we enjoyed our breakfast at First Watch and I'm sure we'll be back to this location again soon! read more

The multi grain with banana crunch granola has chunks of banana in it like the minions say BANANA is what you will be saying after your first bite! The quality has really decreased over the last couple of years but today I am fairly certain I was served food that someone else ordered sent back and instead of them discarding they scraped the salmon out and threw the ingredients for the morning market veg in the eggs added fresh greens on top of the old and sent it out. I would recommend you keep driving down Lovell Rd and breakfast at IHOP, Waffle House, or Denny's instead of First Watch. First Watch is surprisingly and consistently bad at cooking eggs. You cannot get a fried egg that has the whites totally cooked and yolk runny here. So, after many tries, I decided to just get scrambled eggs instead. The scrambled eggs were flat, dry, and browned from overcooking - definitely not fluffy or even what I consider scrambled eggs - more of a flat egg patty. I also recently tried their Bob's Mill buttered grit bowl - also disappointing - edible - I was hungry and ate it - but the instant grits I make at home are way better . . . as are my fried and scrambled eggs. If you are out and want a warm sit-down breakfast there are 3 other options very close to this First Watch - IHOP, Denny's, and a Waffle House. All three also have cushions on their booth seats rather than the hard wood booths. read more

We were told by the waitress that the restaurant was called "The Egg & I" and recently changed its name to "First Watch" after bought by First Watch. We noticed the old egg & I long time ago when we first time shopping at Costco but we never got a chance to walk into it cuz we always went to Costco in afternoon, and the egg & I only opens till 2:30pm. Finally we decided to have brunch here since we got a $2 OFF coupon from the mint magazine. We were surprised to see the name changed when we got there but it was so nice that they still accepted my coupon:) The place was busy during the lunch time but we only waited less than 5 mins. There are plenty options on the menu. I was happy to see that they offer healthy meals with low calories. I ordered Power Wrap from "The Healthier Side" and the waitress told me it was also her first time order. It has egg whites, turkey, spinach, house-roasted Crimini mushrooms and Swiss in a sundried tomato basil tortilla; the pink wrap really gives me appetite. The meal has two wraps (or one cut in half) and served with fresh fruit and a side of housemade salsa, which adds more flavors in case you feel the wrap tastes too light. Of course it is light to stay low sodium but it's perfect to me! My husband ordered "Farmhouse Skillet Hash"--two over easy eggs (you can choose your style) atop fresh seasoned potatoes, bacon, avocado, house roasted onions and tomatoes, cheddar and Monterey Jack, and served with two-piece whole grain toasts. It tastes really really good! Remember you will get another $2 off for your next visit after complete their short online survey. Just present the validation code with your receipt to the cashier when you pay. Now, the mint magazine has a weekday deal for the egg & I (they do accept the coupon at this location) that you buy 1 entree and get another one free. The offer is valid through March 31, 2017. Food and service is usually decent, but don't go here when there is even a whisper of high traffic. The staff clearly does not know how to manage good customer service, and everyone here seems extremely stressed and rude. We used call ahead seating and were greeted by a hostess who seemed annoyed we were even in her presence, and were seated outside without being asked a preference, which would have been fine if it weren't 52° and rainy with no heat lamps. We waited about 35-40 minutes after ordering before our food came, and when it arrived it seemed as if it had been sitting in the back for 20+ minutes as it was extremely cold, which is even more disappointing for a breakfast restaurant that has EGGS in most dishes. Our server checked in with us one time after the food had been delivered, only to ask how we wanted the checks. I usually love this restaurant and enjoy my food and service but was just extremely dissatisfied with this experience. read more

I came here brunch with a friend. She really hyped the place up but I had a feeling it wouldn't live up to her hype. After looking over the menu a couple of times, I got the Floridian French toast. It wasn't that great, pretty basic meal. I did enjoy the fruit on top of it but it wasn't anything spectacular. I got a side of bacon for about $4-5 extra -_- I wish they offered it as a meal. I really like this place. The menu choices are diverse, with plenty of healthy options. I love the fresh juices. The veggie omelet is great, the home fries are perfectly cooked and spiced, and the lemon pancakes are delicious. It does get busy, but if you're an early riser you won't have a problem. Yum yum yum! I love the rustic, barn atmosphere of this place. The ingredients are fresh, organic, and farm grown. Everything I have ordered thus far was excellent. Well made and friendly service. Served with free coffee once you sit down. Their morning juices are a good kick start to your day. I had avocado toast with side of eggs. I never seen an avocado so green, and they also stuff a lot on top of your toast so you get the most from it. The over easy egg that went with it was cooked to perfection. Seriously never seen an egg cooked so well. There has to be a secret to that. The dish may seem simple but I think it's pretty worth it for $8. I don't feel rushed at all when I am here, and I appreciate that. I can just have a seat and sit and enjoy the company with my cup of coffee. 5 stars! read more

I've loved First Watch since I was in college at University of Kansas! I'm so glad Knoxville has several locations now. My favorite is the Power Wrap, a light and delicious way to start your day! I recently tried their iced coffee and it was amazing. My only wish is that they had the option for soy or almond milk. We sat outside because it was a beautiful day and the service was outstanding. They were super sweet with our nine month old and let us know several options of things she can eat there, like a bowl of whatever kind of fruit she's able to eat. I'm not usually a breakfast eater, but I did have an occasion to chow down at First Watch recently. I'm walking in the door with low expectations for a preferably vegan early morning meal. The restaurant is super clean and the wait staff very pleasant. At 7 AM - it's not crowded and there's only 1 or 2 servers. There's not a vegan breakfast on the menu so like most places you have to be creative. I had the Avocado Toast (thick cut whole wheat). The meal comes with 2 eggs, so I subbed the eggs for grits - no butter. I've always been a big fan of grits and these delivered. They're stone-ground yellow grits and simply delicious. Smashed avocados on toast is definitely a thing! Everything was seasoned well. A friend of mine had the Power Wrap and he raved about it. It's still hard to fathom a $20 breakfast with a Waffle House exactly 1 mile down the road, but I did enjoy the meal. read more
