Love me some FIRST WATCH! Always my "Go To" Breakfast and Lunch Favorite wherever we travel. I have loved every Breakfast and Lunch selection that I have ever eaten there over the years. The "Million Dollar Bacon" is one of my favorite sides. My lunch favorite is the sandwich, soup/salad combination. The prices are VERY reasonable whether you're ordering Breakfast or Lunch and you NEVER leave hungry. Best part is First Watch has both a uniquely healthy and fresh breakfast and lunch selection. My only complaint is there is NOT one located in Charlotte County, FL where we live. They have several located NORTH and SOUTH of us in Lee and Sarasota Counties, but not ONE in the Port Charlotte or the Punta Gorda area. PLEASE, PLEASE bring one to us. I think Kings Highway would be an excellent location with it being Exit 170 right off I-75. I also live in the huge Deep Creek Community right off the exit, as well as so many retirees like myself. Another reason is that Allegiant is building a huge upscale Condo Resort down Kings HWY from this 170 Exit. Our restaurant choices on Kings Hwy are VERY LIMITED! Just moved into the new apartment building across the street from this First Watch location and was excited to try their breakfast. I've heard great things about First Watch and it didn't disappoint. Our server, Taffy, was an absolute sweetheart. Attentive and helpful with the menu. The food... wow! My son ordered the Italian Omelet with potatoes and toast and I ordered the A.M. Superfoods Bowl which consists of chia pudding, fruit and granola. Everything was delicious! Prices are fair and coffee was constantly flowing. As someone who works from home, I'm happy to have found a place I can bring my laptop to for a good breakfast and coffee. And super close to home! read more

Lunch date with my girlfriend. Coming for the fall seasonal menu. This will be the start of the fall flavors. We were welcomed as soon as we came in no wait for a table but pretty full house. We got one item from the seasonal menu and one from the regular menu. The Heritage Pork Chop & Eggs the pork chops are topped with a house made apple compote, not to strong of a cinnamon flavor the grits are very creamy and top with cheddar cheese. A creamy boil of Butternut Squash Bisque will kick start your fall taste buds. The soup was smooth and flavorful. The other item "not a seasonal item" but a go to item is the Roast Beef & Havarti. If I could give this place a zero I would. I went to eat breakfast this morning and literally 2 hours after I ate I was so sick! I don't know if they didn't wash the food or if they used rotten food but I got the worse stomach cramps after eating there! I was vomiting, stomach bloated and got diarrhea! We order from here often but today something was different. We always get amazing food but my Morning Market Veg Omelet was even better than it has ever been! Fluffier omelet, perfect amount of vegetables and the kale had a little crunch to it (I love my kale with a little crunch to it!). This breakfast put a bigger smile on my face than I already had. And the new Purple Haze drink! Now my only confusion will be which drink to order, the Purple Haze or the Kale Tonic. I'm just going to order both! I love first watch but this was my first time at this location. I was not disappointed, my server Coral was phenomenal. She was so sweet and made some great recommendations! I got the morning meditation and the seasonal items she recommended to me. The blueberry muffin tops were amazing, try them before they're gone! The barbacoa quesadilla Benedict was also super yummy but I switched the beans for potatoes! I will for sure be back to this location and Coral will be my go to server, Thank you so much!! read more

Good grief. How the heck can a breakfast place consistently screw up SCRAMBLED EGGS?! I want to love this restaurant, and I do like just about everything else about it, except the fact that their cooks do not know how to make scrambled eggs. Updated interior is nice, wait staff is proficient and pleasant, the coffee is very good and the clientele are willing to be loyal - at least I was until today. But for the FOURTH time, I've gotten my eggs which looked like the attached photo. It is an egg which has been opened up on the griddle, is cooked half-way through, and then is chopped into pieces of egg white and egg yolk. It is not a creamy mix of egg cooked into curds. This time I decided not to suffer in silence again. I told the waitress that this was NOT a scrambled egg. She agreed but said they make "country style" scrambled eggs at First Watch. She was kind enough to adjust the check, but that's not the point. The point is I've never heard of "country style" scrambled eggs and I don't know anyone else who has either. Resident of Florida for 40 years and never had scrambled eggs served like this before. For the record, to show that I am not some ignoramus, here are some standard instructions from several different culinary sources which describe scrambled eggs: Culinary Institute of America: Eggs are taken from the shell, MIXED UNTIL BLENDED, and then stirred over moderate heat until they set into soft curds. Cook's Illustrated: Heat butter or oil in a skillet; add EGGS BEATEN WITH WATER OR MILK; stir, stir, stir; and you're done. Martha Stewart: WHISK TOGETHER EGGS and cream; season with salt and pepper. Melt butter in a medium nonstick skillet over medium heat; add eggs. Seems pretty clear that these instructions confirm what most people expect: Scrambled eggs are stirred/ whisked/ mixed BEFORE they are cooked. First Watch, rather than claim yours are "country style" scrambled eggs to disappointed diners, just say the truth; our cooks can't be bothered to crack a couple of eggs in a bowl and spend ten seconds to WHISK them before cooking, as is the standard cooking method for scrambled eggs. So how about just making that distinction clear on your menu? In bold text, print something like this: "NOTE: First Watch scrambled eggs are NOT what you think they are, so here is a picture of what they will look like." Then feel free to use my non-copyrighted photo to illustrate your idea of scrambled eggs. At least my eggs would not have died in vain and were good for something other than garbage can contents. Oh, and one more suggestion: Save yourself considerable cost and stop sprinkling chopped parsley all over egg dishes! It doesn't add anything to the taste and is nothing more than a bunch of texture-irritating flotsam on top of food. read more

A first timer! Brought my friend with a walker. They sat us down ASAP. Everyone was friendly. Portions were just enough and selection of healthy food was beautiful. I guess due to the covid the drinks were limited. Outside seating available and the staff were very busy. A very popular place. Parking out front is limited . The food and service was absolutely amazing, but what compelled me to leave a review was how awful Amelia was to the cash register person. She was degrading her and treating her like less of a human and it was really awful to see. She continually apologized to everyone in line as to patronize the woman working the cash register rather than actually help her. The woman working the cash register was absolutely so sweet and handled Amelia's disrespect very well. Amelia is a bully and came off as so and made everyone in line waiting to pay very uncomfortable. Someone needs to have a conversation with her about what it mean to not be a bully people literally kill themselves because of bullies and this should not be tolerated. but other than that everything else was wonderful read more

My husband and I had met a friend at First Watch for breakfast. Having never dined here before we all were anxious to try it out. My husband had pancakes and my friend ordered the same. Being a person who hates breakfast food of any kind I asked if they had any muffins, the only menu item that remotely appealed to me. Apparently they were out of all varieties-great! Off to a glorious beginning.... I had an iced tea. All diners said their pancakes were soggy and tasteless. My friend barely finished hers. The only saving grace was that our server didn't charge for my iced tea. Can't say anything positive about our experience and will never eat here again. When this restaurant opened, Most of we locals were thrilled. I still visit First Watch wherever I see one, and need a consistently good meal. There's no outside seating here. They took it away! Following lockdown, this location and Cypress Lake Drive at Cleveland Ave. we're extremely slow to address outside seating. Unfortunately, now that Covid is so much more rampant than at any time, First Watch, once again has yet to put out safe seating for the elderly or those with underlying medical conditions. I'm very disappointed. Otherwise this is the best all-around breakfast chain, For my family, anywhere in Florida! We've never visited at First Watch that would get less than four stars. We have been to various First Watch's over the years in Florida and more recently in Arizona where they have now expanded. They are a breakfast and lunch only place that strives to be healthy. This location is close to the Edison-Ford Winter Estates, so we walked over for a late lunch while visiting that attraction. My wife ordered the Super Seed Protein Pancakes with a side of turkey sausage. I ordered Blueberry Multigrain Pancakes with a side of their Million Dollar Bacon, which has brown sugar, black pepper, cayenne and maple syrup on it. I also had their good coffee, which comes with a carafe. They brought my wife bacon, but the mistake was quickly fixed and she got the turkey sausage. She enjoyed her pancakes and sausage. I also enjoyed my late breakfast. Other than the one mixup, the service was solid. We will continue to stop at First Watch restaurants when we find them. read more
