this is my family's goto place for breakfast & brunch, especially when i'm visiting. i always love eating breakfast food, i could eat it for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner! this cafe allows me to come for morning or lunch time only. i usually get some sort of egg dish, and my goto's are the morning market veggie omelet, power wrap or triathlete. on my most recent visit, i ordered the power wrap: cage-free egg whites, turkey, spinach, house-roasted crimini mushrooms and mozzarella in a sun-dried tomato-basil tortilla. it came with a side of fresh fruit, but i skipped the housemade pico de gallo. the wrap was tasty with fresh, savory seasoned veggies. it was very filling with the addition of the turkey breast. the tomato basil tortilla gave it that extra bit of flavour and kick. the fruit was a great way to clean off my palate after a wonderfully filling meal. customer service is always fast and friendly. we can easily be seated, fed, and have our bill settled in under an hour, even when they are busier. easy parking in the muddy branch square shopping center.

F is for First Watch (1 of 3): My next 3 reviews will be First Watch: in this order Gaithersburg, Laurel, & Fairland/White Oak/Silver Spring. This is the order I went with my g/f. I went to this First Watch twice both times to use my birthday deal, 2020 with my EX g/f & 2024 with my g/f now. Sunday, March 1, 2020 (the more dramatic time than 2024 thankfully): It was rough getting there. While on our way less than 10 minutes into drive, my g/f overreacted to something, and I got angry back and continued to escalate most of the drive. Ultimately, I drove very fast on Diamondback in anger, and then she threw all the stuff in my glovebox out on the floor. I went in to First Watch on my own. She called her good friend (& my friend too, but a better friend of hers) to calm down. I told the host stand, here for 2. You can reserve ahead on the app because it gets very busy on a weekend. So, if it's a 45-60 minutes wait, and you want to be there about 11, then maybe you put your name in at like 10. The host took me to table, and I said get us 2 waters for now. My g/f is dealing with something now. I went back out to check since now we have our table. She got off the phone with her friend, and she suggested therapy for anger management. I agreed that it was good idea and I will work on booking something on Monday. This de-escalated things greatly. We went in, and although we were both upset with how things had gone, we proceeded to order. Service was pretty quick, cordial, & the food was good per usual for First Watch. Thankfully, I had the picture (especially since I failed to take a pic in 2024). I had the giant pancake, eggs, & sausage. Their pancake is huge, so you just need one. I really like getting their pancake here. Eggs & meat good too. Saturday, February 24, 2024 (much better situation): This was my g/f & I 4th date before officially having the talk about our relationship on our 5th date (see my Casey's Crab review in Maryland City near Odenton in western Anne Arundel County). We had my friend's board game event that day in Germantown, so this was on the way, and the first time she had met any of my friends. I think I got the omelet, potatoes, & toast, which was delicious as usual. Server was very nice. Overall, a solid choice for First Watch location.

First Watch is always my first choice when picking a breakfast spot! I always get their carrot pecan pancake, it's definitely a must try. It's sweet and crunchy and it's the best with their hot maple syrup. I also tried their turkey burger with a side tomato soup. I would order this again. And tried their omelette! I tried their loaded potatoes and they are good! But they are on the saltier side. So if you're being cautious about that, just keep that in mind. Their service is always great. And when you're done you can pay on your phone or at the host stand. Also keep in mind that they close mid day, so don't try to have breakfast for dinner here!

The summer menu at First Watch is great! I'd recommend the elote burrito and blueberry cornbread. Our server wasn't as attentive as we would have liked but the food was fantastic. I enjoy how you can add yourself to the waitlist remotely before arriving. The seating was also very comfortable.

The food was delicious. The pancakes, eggs, and Apple sausage were great. The Ambiance is that of a comforting brunch place. It's here to bring food and showing that. There were some complaints with my party about the service. They explained the welcoming staff was being disrespectful. We originally wanted a bigger table and there was some service commotion about this.eventually everything was resolved and we were to get our seating for the party.

We've been here several times and appreciate the welcoming atmosphere and friendly service. Overall, the food can be hit or miss. On our most recent visit, the Chimichurri Steak & Eggs Hash fell short. The portion of steak was very small--just a thin piece, roughly 2" x 1", tucked beneath the egg. For a dish that highlights steak in the name, it didn't quite meet expectations. There are other menu items we've enjoyed, but this particular dish wasn't one we'd order again.

Thursday 10/31/24 I've always heard about first watch but never visited until now. I made a takeout order on their website and got the stay golden cinnamon roll $6, million dollar bacon $6, French toast $11.79, and lemon ricotta pancakes $13. - the lemon ricotta pancakes were recommended by my dad and it was the best of the 4 items I had (but that's not saying much). I do wish I could've gotten more of the lemon topping because $13 for 2 pancakes is not worth it. - The French toast was recommended by my younger brother and it was AVERAGE. There was nothing special about it and the fact that it's nearly $12 for 2 slices of mid French toast is just ridiculous. - The million dollar bacon was alright and it's a cool concept but $6 for 4 strips of bacon is just not for me. - The stay golden cinnamon roll is a seasonal item and it was pretty underwhelming. I liked that there was ALOT of icing (the icing was lemon flavored) but the cinnamon roll itself was mid as it was very dense and dry in the center. Overall, the food experience average and expensive. I don't think that it's worth it as I wouldn't return or recommend at all.

Always very inviting and cost effective. One of the best places for brunch in Gaithersburg. Try the trifecta! Light golden waffles. Syrup always heated.

I've been to this location several times and I'm never too impressed nor am I too dissatisfied- just an "alright" breakfast experience with a really good juice bar. I'm reviewing this time as I tried the seasonal summer menu. They had a watermelon wake-up juice which is watermelon, pineapple, mint and lime. You know when you taste something good and it immediately makes you smile or want to dance? That's this drink. How refreshing! Our waitress said we got the last ones for the morning so I'm sad I couldn't get another! We also tried the strawberry tres leches French toast which was very good - it was sweet, almost a little too sweet but I treated it as dessert after eating the shrimp and grits. They had a good flavor but overall maybe a 6/10. My grits were a little too watery and the amount of onion was a little overboard. My partner tried the elote breakfast burrito and said it tasted good but needed to be mixed better as the first half of the burrito was nothing but egg and the second half had more of the beans and peppers. Didnt see much corn or corn salsa. Overall maybe a 7/10 experience.

Food was better than I expected. Service was great and the ambiance mid-level noisy. You can sign up online to "wait in line" so definitely do that before you arrive to reduce your wait. It is hugely popular on weekends and the wait can be 40-60 minutes easy. I got the works omelette which was quite good. It came with a green salad, buttered toast and jam. All of it was good. I don't usually eat toast but this multi-grain was so delicious. I tried the salmon fritatta which was also decent. Portions are reasonable as are the prices. The blazing dragon drink was tart and a bit sweet but tasty. I will definitely return to try other menu items.

The place is very cute, they have an open kitchen, and it wasn't very busy but that probably has more to do with the fact that we went at 2pm. I got the Floridian French Toast and my boyfriend got the chickichanga, both were delicious. We also got coffee-- which was a good brew-- as well as a cinnamon cereal bowl, and a pomegranate drink, both were good drinks as well. The staff were all very friendly and despite having arrived 30 minutes before they closed we never felt rushed or like an inconvenience. We were checked on several times by the server and received our food and drinks in a promptly manner. Overall a great experience.

Late breakfast before heading into DC for adventures. I had the sunrise granola bowl, which comes with a muffin, yum! This was my second visit and it made me wonder why it's been so long since I was there. Love the food, great atmosphere, and friendly and hospitable staff. I'll be back soon!

I'm not ready to put First Watch in my do not ever go here list just yet. So far this chain has disappointed me sort of twice. I came here with my friend and at first service is friendly and everything all nice and dandy. I order the green smoothie. It looks deceiving but it tastes pretty good and better than Panera's power smoothie. This time I wanted to try the hash. Actually we both ordered the avocado hash. Mine had bacon mixed in. My friend requested that hers be meatless and to be sure that it contains no meat. Waitress said it won't be a problem. My eggs over easy and hers scrambled. Our food comes fast. I'm looking at my hash and I'm trying not to be so picky but my taters were kinda of burnt around the sides but I make no fuss, I just ate it. My avocados looked a little unripe. A ripe avocado is to be semi soft. Mine was semi firm. I just ate it. Despite the two mishaps, my hash tasted good though presentation wise I had seen better at their Rockville location. Here is where they lose the stars: I noticed my friend making a weird face and she says there's meat in her hash! She specifically requested no bacon. So we call the manager, later on we found out she wasn't just a glorified manger, how nice! My friend explains what happened and the employee states "are you sure that's bacon?!" My friend speechless and me I say of course that's bacon it's definitely not tofu or a veggie? Then she's gives us well what do you want us to do about it? My friend was ready to leave and just mentioned to be more mindful of when customers request no meat. Suppose she had an allergy or had religious dietary restrictions? The way it was handled could have been better and a better apology without the sass. Then we see both our waitress and the glorified manager talking in ear shot about the incident. So classy! Our waitress comes back and I request a smoothie to go and she ever so kindly, tells me you know it's extra it's not refillable, you have to pay for another one?! I stated yes I know. I have read other reviews and it seems like they have an issue with vegan or vegetarian requests and seems to them like its no big deal to them but to paying customers it is. As for the layout of the restaurant it's more open and more spacious than Rockville and it seems less waiting time. read more

Right now, a little crowded inside considering covid. Squeezing by multiple groups of ppl waiting to be seated to put in an order. I would be nervous to sit in and eat given number of ppl inside. Food is a 40 minute wait which is long but not unheard of (the food is good if willing to wait). I would not go in at all if not vaccinated. Uber eats says it's closed even though it's open (looks like it's misconfigured) so have to drive here to order/pickup. read more

Continue recommend stopping here. Visited 19-Oct still great service and foot was excellent. Tried the breakfast tacos this time. Stop here! Great selections and excellent service. Tried the specials in the photos and they did not disappoint. Manager was having a bad beginning of his day, but he didn't show it...stepped up and got things done. Had a great birthday breakfast thanks to this place! Normally go to the ROCKVILLE location but we will be alternating from this one to that one in the future. My girlfriends and I came here for a weekday breakfast and we were impressed. From the outside First Watch doesn't look like a place that would entice me to come in, but inside it was bright and welcoming. It's definitely a step up from your average IHop for a casual breakfast place. First Watch is located in the Muddy Branch Shopping Center so there's plenty of parking. Everything on the menu looked great! The menu had omelettes, sandwiches, specialty juices, salads, benedicts and more. I went with the avocado, bacon and tomato hash and it was really good -- a few dashes of hot sauce and it was perfect. On top of the hash you can have 2 eggs any style and it comes with a biscuit, jam, and fruit on the side. Some of the fruit looked a little questionable, but we just pushed them to the side. Our server was very attentive and checked on us throughout the meal. Soon as we were finished he dropped off the check and then you pay at the register up front. So this is my second time coming to First Watch. This time I arrived around 1pm. There was still a fifteen minute wait although there were some open tables. My wife and I were eventually seated at a 2 top which is fine but I did notice other twosomes seated at 4 tops. There were 4 tops available but for whatever reason we didn't get seated there. Ah well, on to the food. I ordered the Trifecta breakfast which comes with 2 eggs any style, a choice of meat, and either a pancake or Belgium waffle. I chose to go with 2 eggs over easy, a sausage link, and the bacon and cheddar pancake. The eggs we cooked fine, the sausage was tasty and not dry, and the pancake was a surprising delight. I biggest complaint is the amount of food I was given. I felt like it was really not enough food for the price. Don't get me wrong, the food was good but I still feel like I could have used more. The quality of the food may have improved since the last time I was here but I still felt unsatisfied. read more

We arrived on a early Saturday afternoon and there was a 45 minute wait for private seating. There were plenty of seats at the community table. What we didnt know is that we could have put our party on the list while enroute to the location as they are on OpenTable. Visiting for the first time, I really enjoyed the overall theme of the cafe, seating arrangements, and the minimal country decor. The menu is straightforward, designed well, refreshing, and natural. Got here for Sunday brunch around 10, and there was a good 30 min wait. While you are waiting, you can treat yourself to some coffee and take some time to check out the menu. I got the avocado, bacon & tomato hash with scrambled eggs on the side. It kind of tasted like those TGI Fridays potato skins, which I didn't mind because I love those! My only critique is that I with it came with some more avocado. I know avocados are a bit pricey but 3 small slivers didn't really do much for me. The hash also comes with some fruit (grapes and pineapple) in a cup and English muffin toasted with strawberry preserve jam. For about $10, it was a surprisingly filling meal. I will definitely be back for brunch again! Maybe try to come earlier or later to avoid a long wait. read more

Came here for breakfast several times with friends and colleagues. It is an excellent place to get a warm and nutritious breakfast. They have a wide selection of delicious items on their breakfast menu. Service can be a bit slow on busy mornings, but the waiters have been consistently great! read more

I go here roughly once a week if I can. It's location is great for me. It's a nice, relaxing way to start a day: A pot of coffee, or a day glow juice, and something yummy. I've had almost everything that doesn't have meat in it. If it does have meat I substitute fruit or potatoes. They're always super nice about it. The folks there are aces! I recently tried their lunch (veggie grill sandwich). Mmmmm, mmm. Their Market Hash is yummy too. I miss the pumpkin pancake with real pumpkin, no flavoring bs. I have yet to try their waffles and some of this recent specials. read more

This is our 2nd time at this location. We came in and a family was leaving a booth. I asked if we could sit there once they cleaned it off. The 3 cashiers told us yes, but no one moved to get the table cleaned off. 5 minutes went by and I had to ask the 3 cashiers....yes 3 people standing at the cash register. One lady said I will go and tell them. I yell out YES.... goodness!!! I can't believe I even had to do that at all. ‍ Finally we sat down and was able to eat our breakfast. I have been procrastinating for months on First Watch and finally decided to give it a try. The food was great, I wasn't too much of a fan of the potatoes, but everything else was amazing. The pancakes are huge, topped off with butter and served with a jelly that was out of this world. Hubby had a waffle with his and really enjoyed it, and our son tore up his plate, too: eggs, tons of bacon, and an English muffin. I only took a star away because they don't offer refills on your drinks, accept water, but the service and food made up for it. We will be back. read more

Love the location in Rockville and decided to try the Gaithersburg one since it's closer to home. Pro's: -Quick and friendly service -Call ahead seating/reservation -Bright and cute ambiance -Lot's of variety between healthy eating breakfast/lunch to comfort foods -Pancakes were moist and huge! -Omelets were large and filled with everything I had asked for -The food tasted fresh and not overly salted -Kid friendly -Clean bathrooms -Offers fresh juice (i.e. Kale tonics and pineapple coolers) -Pay up front when you're ready, no need to wait for the server to return -Ton's of gluten free and healthy options Con's: -Place does get busy on the weekends especially brunch time. Call ahead to have your name be put on the waiting list -Large parking lot but fills quickly -Closes at 2:30pm :-( Will return again! read more

First watch was not what I was expecting at all. I actually thought it was a bank while driving by. My brother discovered it was a breakfast spot so we decided to give it a try. Great food, exceptional service. Katerina was our server. Not only did she provide excellent service she was a funny too. My brother and I both had the Trifecta (he had the chocolate chip pancakes and I stayed with the plain) which were fantastic! He equally enjoyed the coffee. Oh and their water is served in carafes which was a bonus for me as I wasn't looking for any additional liquid calories. Nice interior, all in all a wonderful experience. We'll be back! read more

Highly recommend: This is one of the best breakfasts/Brunch locations in the Area. Went with my wife, we had been past it several times but we finally made the right choice. We started with a few of their fresh juices(Healthy & delicious) We got the banana pancakes, a salmon Benedict and another one of their popular sandwiches. This is a great breakfast/brunch spot in a relatively quiet shopping center. The menu has a good variety of both basic breakfast foods and salads and sandwiches. I've only been here for breakfast but have really enjoyed it - during my most recent visit, I ordered the avocado, bacon and tomato hash, which was 2 eggs on top of a mix of potatoes and the like. It was the perfect amount of food for breakfast but could have used more avocado. Another nice touch is that they operate "diner-style" so our waiter put my group's foods on separate checks without asking. Keep in mind that it's only open until 2:30pm each day, so don't come too late in the day! read more

Favorite brunch spot for any day of the week. Simple, casual and comfortable with no hustle or bustle. I have brought many of my family and friends here. Service was horrible. Worse service I've ever had. The waitress came by to give us water, took 10 mins to take our order and then never came back. 45 mins later we asked for our food and she said she was waiting on eggs. Eggs!? Because that's what takes 45 minutes to cook. read more

I went online and joined the waitlist it said 120-180 min wait so I joined so once the table is ready we can go and sit down but when tried to check the status it said "This merchant is not accepting waitlist entries through Google at this time." So I called them and the host said once u join the wait list u have to come in person once you joint the online waiting list so we can actually put ur name in our waiting list and u have to wait outside in person as if there is no online wait list !!!!! I've never heard of anything more ridiculous and none sense !!! Then whats the point ? Ppl go online to join the wait list so they don't have to be there at the ovation waiting for 2-3 hours! I've been to First Watch a half a dozen times, but this is my first review because although I really like the food and the staff, we've always had a really awkward experience (I'll leave it at that). Today... success! Even though it seemed really busy we were seated right away. The service was friendly and prompt, the kitchen was humming and our food came out correctly and right away. I had the breakfast scramble (no ham) and my bf had the avocado bacon hash. First Watch has a way of making everything taste healthy and fresh, even when your breakfast is covered in hollandaise sauce! The juices are honestly what keep us coming back. The day glow and kale tonic are amazing. My family comes frequently, and the food is great for the price, and the staff is usually kind and timely. We came in today with a party of 6, knowing they don't take reservations and that our party was bigger. However, several large groups who came in after us were seated first. When asked, they said the other group made reservations, but they don't take those, so we couldn't make them. When we were seated, we sat at a table for four, and our waitress was confused and although very kind, struggled to take our order. Overall, a frustrating experience but the food was still great. read more

This is hands down my favorite brunch place in the area. It's casual and well priced. The servers are friendly and that combined with the decor make you feel like your visiting that local hidden gem rather than being in a chain restaurant. The food here is fresh and healthy. The pancakes and french toast are on the menu if you are craving them, but the menu is focused on well portioned healthy options that make this place a great place to frequent. I have been here several times, every experience has been great. My favorite go to thing to order is the beefeater sandwich. Roast beef and cheese on sourdough served with a side of horseradish that has the perfect amount of kick and doesn't clear out your sinuses with just one bite. This place is easy to find and the parking is not a nightmare. They are in an open parking lot that does get full but is not nearly as crowded as some of the other brunch options in the neighboring town centers. It really makes a difference when you just want a place that you can head in, grab a quick bite, and go. read more

This branch needs drastic change of management, and honestly probably most of the typical wait staff fired and not rehired. As a short description of today's experience, my husband and I put ourselves on the wait list on the app at approximately 10:30. The app told us that the wait should have been 45 mins to an hour. We arrived precisely at the end of the predicted window at 11:38 and were promptly told there were still four groups ahead of us in line, adding another twenty minutes. This alone is a gross data and algorithmic failure that needs to be corrected. We were finally seated 20 min later, despite observing a number of tables that were not bussed for over fifteen minutes after we came in, and at least five empty tables that had been empty for at least five minutes when we were seated, and three more still waiting to be bussed. All the while two people overmanned the single register, and a third waiter wrapped silverware despite an entire full tub of silverware also at that station. It is not difficult from the waiting area to consistently observe front of house employees ignoring their duties, whether reading their phones, talking to non employee friends for extended conversations, or just otherwise generally shirking work. As a note, the kitchen and bussers do appear to be working harder than the actual waiters and hosts, low bar though that is. As a pair of asides, despite the apparent presence of a WiFi router at this location, the network is and has for several months been non functional. Further, though Maryland has lifted requirements for masks, the bulk of your staff still wear them. That I don't object to, except that most don't actually cover their nose with their masks, entirely pointless during a respiratory pandemic. There is also a distinct correlation between those employees who wear masks correctly, and who actually do work. To your staff's credit, today's food was quick, a fifteen minute wait. I will leave the implicit commentary that I'm surprised they met that requirement at that. Now, having been seated thirty five minutes, the unbussed table adjacent to me remains unbussed, despite two different waiters being asked or ordered to clear it. I also observed consistent mismatch between the currently six unbussed tables and the four waiting groups in the lobby area. To be clear, the food here remains significantly superior to anywhere else. This is the only place that I consistently enjoy, which is why my husband puts up with it. He'd rather IHOP, but alas their food makes me wanna vomit. read more

Great experience food was super fresh as expected. Even the OJ was clearly squeezed per order. The French Toast was divine and well portioned. I ordered the trifecta which was tasty. I'm not big on a change in familiar textures. So the pancakes has actual grains in them which I didn't like. They were gracious and switched it to a waffle. I'm happy and so was my tummy. I love that this place has so many healthy options. Also, as a person who doesn't like potatoes but loves greens, I love that they offer mixed greens as a side with your breakfast. Per the menu, you can switch those to potatoes. The first couple times I came here, I had some rather well done poached eggs (still good so I didn't say anything or send back) but last week mentioned prior to ordering. My waitress put down "soft poached" and they were perfect. I also love their Kale Tonic green juice. read more

Gosh, this place is great for a quick breakfast or brunch before a big day of errands. And the staff were *very* nice to me! One blueberry whole-grain pancake, coffee, tax, and tip rang up at $12.64 total. Great fuel for the day. I had a small issue and my server handled it with grace: I ordered an "iced coffee" and it was pre-mixed with milk, which I did not expect. Most likely my fault for not specifying no cream or sugar, and the server made it right without hesitation. read more

My bfs meal was supposed to come with two sides. He ordered mashed potatoes and cole slaw. The mashed potatoes were in with the steak and it was a small portion that looked like a small ice cream scoop, ribeye ($49.00). We did not get the Cole slaw. We ordered a house side salad. It was literally a huge chunk of iceberg lettuce thrown in a bowl with some of the sides. ($14.00) I ordered the steak frites (34.00) the fries were fine, my steak had these weird pieces (see photo) inside, that were veins or ligaments but def not edible and very chewy and gross. I chewed a few pieces and kept having to over chew and then would spit out the pieces because it was rubbery, after the second piece I noticed the texture and then spit it out, then saw whatever it was that was causing the texture and issue. Seeing that immediately made me lose my appetite. So I was left hungry and turned off by my meal and filled up on calamari and fries. I have ordered this before and it usually comes with a nice amount of slices. Mine came with four pieces of sliced steak. We ordered the calamari and had no complaints. The back end comes to my house and drops off a GC of $25.00! Which to me is an insult. For that they can keep their cheap cop out. I will not be back. We spent $134.00 and tipped $19.00 for a take out order. And all they could give us back for a terrible experience and quality of food was $25.00?! Their salad alone was $14. The cake is $12. So basically come back spend more money and we will cover one simple thing but several of your items were sub par and or gross. I would not recommend. This restaurant took a lot of money and did the bare minimum to fix the issue and threw a minimum amount to appease the customer. But didn't mind taking my hard earned money, which I will now spend elsewhere. I also will be mailing back the card. Whoever came to my condo to drop off the gift card came at midnight. Which to me is weird and an odd time to come to someone's house. I have it on security video.

We did have an issue with one of our entrees, but it was quickly handled with care. All in all, zero complaints. Burtons is a solid choice for a casual restaurant.

Unfortunately, what should have been a special celebration turned into a very disappointing experience due to the service we received upon arrival. We had a reservation for 4:00 p.m. When we arrived, the gentleman at the host stand was not welcoming or friendly. He simply told us to "step to the side" and that someone would assist us in a few minutes. As the minutes passed, we continued to wait without any communication. During that time, a white family of five walked in without a reservation and was seated immediately. At that point, I approached the host stand to ask what had happened and why we had not been seated despite having a reservation. The host searched for our reservation, asked what time it was scheduled for, and then casually stated, "I think someone stole your table." I was shocked by this response. I asked how that could happen if he was responsible for managing the seating. He had no explanation and, more importantly, never offered an apology for the mistake or the inconvenience. A manager later came over and asked what had happened. After I explained the situation, he appeared genuinely surprised and concerned by what had occurred. Once we were finally seated, our server acknowledged the delay and kindly offered us an appetizer because of the long wait at the front. We appreciated that gesture, but it did not change how unwelcome we had been made to feel upon arrival. I am writing this letter not because I am looking for compensation or anything in return. My purpose is simply to ensure that no other family has a similar experience, especially on a day meant to celebrate loved ones. Every guest deserves to be treated with fairness, courtesy, and respect. A sincere apology from the host at the time of the incident would have gone a long way. I hope you will use this feedback as an opportunity to coach your front-of-house staff on the importance of customer service, communication, and accountability. My eight-year-old ordered the kids' cheese pizza, and he absolutely loved it. It was the perfect meal before our movie and made our little outing even more special. The service was excellent from start to finish. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and incredibly accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Great service always enhances the experience, and she definitely did just that. Tyrell has a great personality, and you could tell the customers really enjoyed interacting with him. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the tasting feel welcoming and fun instead of rushed. The entire team also seemed to genuinely enjoy their work, which created such a positive atmosphere throughout the restaurant. After hearing Tyrell explain the benefits of the wine club, I honestly wanted to join right away. I had to rely on adding guac and some salsa for flavor. I was hoping the veggie would have some flavor without having to rely on sauces. Al Pastor - was very good. Guacamole - comes "market price". The side we got was $3, which I think was a good value. The guac was flavorful and was a nice portion. I am glad I had it to supplement the disappointing Veggie taco and the dryness of the Pollo. The corn tortillas were good. The place is nice and comfortable.

Last night my husband and I decided to dine in. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with cultural artifacts and art. This may just be a me thing but the serveware was envy worthy. It was gorgeous. I'm obsessed with beautiful dishware. There were only two people taking orders and serving food for an almost full dining room so we were understanding of a bit of a wait time. The staff were very friendly and checked in on us when they could. We ordered the khachipuri, samsa, oxtail, chohobli, steamed rice, pilmeni, and hot tea. Both the khachipuri and samsa were flaky pastries: khachapuri filled with a salty stretchy cheese with a cheese pull that tasted better than it was Instagram-able and samsa filled with a savory meat/onion mixture served with a tomato based sauce. Get one per person because you will not want to share. We ordered fried mini dumplings which are filled with meat and also served with same tomato based sauce that came with the samsa. They were delicious but afterwards I saw that you can get them steamed in a broth, I told myself I have to get that next time. The slow-cooked, tender oxtail was served over the best crispy, fat-fried potatoes I've ever had. The chohobli (chicken stew) was fall off the bone into a delicious tomato-based stew. We ordered the rice to sop up the delicious stew. The tea really helped to cut the richness of all the delicious food. I have not shut up about this place since we had this meal. I will rave about it to just about anyone that will listen in hopes that they will come with me next time so we can order more dishes to share.

Other than the food, the inside is pretty cute, and the people working are still some of the nicest with great customer service. Passing through on business, and tried out Firstwatch for breakfast. I looked at the reviews here before going in as lots of people do, some good, some not so good.. but thought id try it out for myself to see what its like. I was not dissapointed at all and glad I went in for breakfast. It was busy, there was a wait but was well worth the wait. The hostess at the door were very pleasant, made me feel welcome.. they even brought me coffee while i waited.. the manager impressively made me feel special as i came in, introduced himself, asked me my name, Christopher knew from the look on my face, my actions and a brief conversation with me as my name was added to the wait list that it was my first time there and even discounted my meal at the end for being a first time customer... which most places wont even consider doing. Even though i waited, i was sat relatively quickly considering how busy they were at the time.. my waiter was devaun and he was very impressive, great personality, very energetic, respectful. The coffee was fantastic, the food was amazing, tasted fantastic and was delicios.. from the front door to leaving i really felt special and welcome. Totally contradictory of the negative reviews that i read here. If i pass through to the area again in the future, i will definitely come here for breakfast again. read more

I'm giving it two stars. Here's why.. The food was great but the service and the people were awful. We were kind of brushed aside even though we were one of the first few people to walk in. And then a huge wave came in after we have been told to wait for "less then five" and ended up waiting more. That was no big deal. Our waitress seemed less then interested in us or our requests and she "checked up" on us without actually coming over. We had to get up and track her down to get her. And paying for our bill was ridiculous. They didn't know how to split our check, so they got the kitchen manager to help and he was a jackass. No one knew what they were doing. A gentleman behind us asked for a cup of coffee while they kept us waiting... And the kitchen manager rudely said "wait a minute" and under his breath mutters "be fucking patient!" I don't think I'll be coming back.. Which was sad, because the food was great. The employees ruined my experience. I don't know how they are still opened with that attitude and lack of trying. read more

I had a disappointing experience at First Watch recently. While dining, we discovered a **caterpillar** in our salad, which was shocking and unpleasant. When we brought it to the staff's attention, the general manager came over and offered to replace the dish with something "not leafy." However, his attitude made it seem like finding a caterpillar in the salad was just something we should expect and not something they could fully prevent. While he did remove ~ $6 from our check for the salad, that was the extent of the compensation, which felt inadequate given the situation. Unfortunately, this incident really took away from what could have been a nice meal. I appreciate the apology, but the response didn't feel like enough to address such a serious issue. read more

Service was bad. Very disinterested server who made NO effort to engage us or be friendly. He did the job and nothing more. He threw the requested extra coffee creamers on the table and plopped the plates down when the food was ready without conversation or even a smile. The breakfast potatoes on both plates were just barely warm. My eggs were the same. The server never stopped back to check on us other than to give us the bill and vanish; The coffee was gross. Tasteless. Not going back and won't recommend it to anyone. FYI Both my children are in food service. One is also a chef. Yes, I have high expectations but in an industry when he is making his living on tips he's going about it the wrong way. read more

I love this place. Food is always great. I was glad to see it open back up considering all things happening in the world. The staff all wear masks and it is still my favorite staff members before Covid. The only negative I have to say is due to their location they currently do not have outside dining which is more of issue with the location. I hope their landlords can figure out a way to get them a roof top or outside arrangements for social distancing and safety. They maintain social distancing inside currently. read more

Hate to give a less than positive review, but for a restaurant that specializes in breakfast, they are missing the mark. I've had four meals there, and every one of the entrees and sides were sub-par. From dried out eggs, lack of fillings in the omelets, to tasteless donut bites, I've experienced them all. I could forgive this if it happened one time, but all four meals are inexcusable. Especially when you're spending $60 for breakfast. Come on, First Watch - let's set our standards high and work towards them! read more

Stopped in here last week for breakfast after working all night. Was in the mood for a breakfast burrito type meal. Setup is very nice. The old Fingers and Claws was totally redone. Genevieve was my server. She was excellent. Always available but never intrusive. The food was great. I got the chickichanga. It tasted very fresh and hit the spot. Overall, a great experience and I certainly plan to return. Definitely better than diner food IMO read more

I came in with my two children a few Saturday's ago for breakfast. The wait was a little long but once we got seated, it was worth the wait. My children each got the kids pancakes with bacon and I got the trifecta. The food was excellent! My server was Amanda and she was especially warm and attentive to my children.
