I have been here a few times when visiting family. Overall, always have great customer service and food. I would recommend.

Food was excellent although served lukewarm to cool, service was excellent however, in this day of Covid and the specificity rate in GJ increasing, the kitchen staff took off their masks when entering the kitchen and they spoke over the prepared plates. The staff was rude from the door coming in. our granddaughter was crying (not loud for less than a minute) apparently made the server mad and we got nothing but horrible service from that minute. Went this morning for the first time. I've heard nothing but great things & was excited to try it. They were busy (Sunday at noon) but we were sat pretty quickly. Then we waited.. waited for drinks, waited to order. Finally got drinks. By the time we got asked to order our drinks were gone but not refilled. We had to flag down for refills. From time we ordered until we got food was almost an hour. And it was lukewarm & not right. One friend ordered traditional breakdast & asked for sunnyside up eggs, he told waitress because they always overcook eggs there & he wanted a runny yolk. Our other friend ordered the BLT eggs benedict- it came with no avocado, minimal hollandaise sauce & eggs were like hard bolied eggs. I ordered the salmon eggs Benedict, again eggs were hard throughout, very little hollandaise sauce & I got the greens on side & they had no dressing. The waitress offered to have our poached eggs remade- out of the 8 eggs that they made (2 per order remade 2x) only 2 eggs had a soft, yolk. We asked for more hollandaise sauce and were brought a small cup that was lukewarm. My friend asked for more avocado & received the brownest, bruised avocados we've ever seen. My husband ordered the chorizo & chile omelet. It was small, had no chile or chorizo in it. His potatoes were cold & not cooked through (still hard) & his toast was cold & over toasted. He said best part of his meal was the preserves. We did say something to our waitress & were given a 20% discount but our bill was still over $50 for 4 meals that weren't made correctly, unseasoned & cold. You really shouldn't be a breakfast place if you can't cook eggs. I did feel bad for our waitress as she kept apologizing for the food. She was nice but seemed overworked. I'm sure like most places they are shortstaffed. I'm hoping they were having an off day but I'm not sure we will be back to try again. read more

We we went there for the first time today. We had to ask for a waitress after waiting 10 minutes. They said it was policy to let people wait before they came over so we could look over the menu. That meant we didn't get any coffee or water. Our server was a brand new and didn't know the menu. The food came out fast enough but it wasn't hot and it was served in shifts between the four of us. I would say the food was very mediocre and way over priced. read more

Well the other day my wife had her mouth set for a trip to the Egg and I for a great breakfast. When we arrived, we discovered that they had changed the name and the menu. My wife took a look at the menu looked at me and said, you want to leave? I said, let's give them a try. We usually split a breakfast, the Belgian waffle with bananas and strawberries , eggs and maybe some sausage. But we're always open for something new. Our server was very friendly and attentive, the atmosphere changed a little bit, but we wanted to stay open minded. We ordered the biscuits and turkey gravy, with scrambled eggs, coffee and home fries. Can't say we were very impressed. We weren't very happy about the taste of the turkey gravy, egg portions were small, home fries were cold, but the coffee wasn't bad. But not enough to make us go back for a second try. This is a fun and hip place to eat! I went here for a birthday breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered an açaí bowl (which is hard to come by in Grand Junction) and it tasted great. I got a slice of toast topped with almond butter as a side, and that was my favorite part. The toast was thick and the almond butter was sweet and creamy. The restaurant itself is cute; I know it's a chain so it's probably standard. Our server was great. Definitely check this place out if you're adventurous and like to change things up every once and a while. read more

Outstanding food and service! I was excited to try someplace new, especially one that offers a different take on breakfast. Had the Floridian French Toast with strawberries, bananas, and kiwis. Also, do yourself a favor and get their Million Dollar bacon. Sweet and salty with a slight kick. I was excited to see avocado toast and chia pudding on their menu as well. Got the Power Protien Quinoa Bowel... suppose to have sausage in it. Two small sausage pieces in it THATS IT. Had to ask if sausage was in it because I didn't see any. We have visited 3 times. Food is always good - but always cold! We addressed our waitress who was very kind and brought us another plate. It was cold. My husband asked to speak to the manager. She first tried to blame the waitresses timely manner of delivering our food. I told her no that was not the case. Our food was brought right away. So good I love their morning meditation(juice) and my fiancé buy iced coffee from here weekly. We always get the same thing I like the egg sandwich with avocado it's the only way I'll eat avocado but I chow down every time. I felt like my experience was going to be like normal restaurants in town, but ooh my! This was one of the best breakfast meals I have ever had. This makes my mouth explode with delicious bursts of flavor and I will saver this meal for a very long time. The things I ordered were the Belgian waffles and this type of bacon called "The million dollar bacon" and oh my!! You must try this if you ever come here. The service was good and the decor was cute, but the food was just not good. My boyfriend and I just went to try this place for the first time and we will not be back. I got the chocolate chip pancake my boyfriend got the salmon Benedict then we also got the broccoli cheddar soup, a side of biscuits and gravy and a side of bacon. The pancake was so dry every time I tried to stab it with my fork it fell apart I had to drench it in syrup to make it edible. The Benedict was downright disgusting, the salmon did not taste right and the English muffin was hard as a rock. The bacon was okay but it was very very crispy and I like mine to be a little chewier. The soup also did not taste right. The biscuits and gravy were the best thing we had but still not great. The flavors were off and the food took foreverrrrr. I'm so angry they changed the Egg & I to this crappy restaurant. The food is unpleasant, the menu is unappealing. My eggs were literally coated with chives. The carrot cake pancake looked like rabbit food. Two of the other people I was with had a farmhouse skillet, and half of the potatoes were cold & raw, the other half were burnt. The flavor of the sauce was so odd that they couldn't finish it, & ended up splitting a plain pancake. Another person in my party had a frittata that had large, tough pieces of kale (ew) cooked into it, and she had to attempt to eat around them. Three of us for breakfast. I ordered Biscuit & Gravy with eggs. Gravy was room temp. Sent back plate which included the potatoes and Fruit cup. When returned, Gravy was warm. Would rather have the sausage gravy. Cook failed to include the potatoes. Fruit cup mostly not ripe enough to eat. Also ordered the Grits. Worst grits ever had. Did not eat. Lady ordered the Smoked Salmon Benedict. Did not come out as ordered. Third guest ordered French Toast. Complained that would have been easier to eat if he used a knife to cut the toast. Bacon was passable. Waitress was good with no complaints here. We did voice our concerns and were issued two $2 discount cards which I used at check out. Total bill $65.44 which included the $4 discount and tip. If just one of us were dissatisfied I would not have written this. read more

Delicious and a great menu variety! Lots of the reviews here are from salty older locals who couldn't stand to see The Egg and I leave. The negative reviews all seem biased and a bit unfair. I liked The Egg and I, but First Watch has many more healthy and creative options. Plus, the menu is very accommodating of customers who eat vegan or vegetarian or who have other dietary restrictions. They have a huge potential to draw in a younger crowd. The staff was friendly and helpful and I plan on buying the restaurant's cookbook the next time I eat here. read more

Our server was good although somewhat robotic. The server trainer was training experienced servers, I'm guessing, in how to do it the First Watch way. I'm not sure That's as needed as the trainer thought it was. Attention really needs to be put to the kitchen. I ordered eggs, bacon, and English muffin. The eggs were fine but I forgot to tell the server no potatoes. I tried them and they were cold, mostly burned, and tasteless. The bacon (4 pieces) ranged from crisp, to tough and chewy, to not quite cooked through. I also would like to select my own jelly or jam. My husband ordered biscuits and turkey sausage gravy - he is not a fan (perfers sausage gravy). The fruit cup grapes were sour. The cranberry juice was fine. When we checked out the cashier asked how things were and I told her. Her comment was "Oh, you miss the Egg and I". I told her not at all, what I miss is good food. We will give it another try but spend more time with the menu. Also, it's interesting that our bill for the exact same breakfast that we use to get at the Egg and I was almost $13.00 higher at First Watch.
