We were on our way out of Nashville, so we stopped here for a bite. We arrived around 10:00 on a Sunday morning and surprisingly it wasn't too busy. We accepted a table outside... the temperature wasn't too bad and they had umbrellas. Our table was a bit sticky... that's probably my only real complaint. I ordered the Trifecta with a waffle, over medium eggs, and bacon. My better half had the Chorizo omelet and greens. My waffle was the best. It tasted sooo good. Seriously, I'm giving 5 stars for the waffle alone. I finished my plate and my husband did the same. His was equally delish. It's safe to say I get the whole First Watch thing now. Admittedly, Mother's Day is a tough day for restaurants. But our to go order was underwhelming. The breakfast potatoes had so much salt on them you could use them as an emetic. My omelette was way over cooked and dry. But it wasn't edible anyway because it was filled with brown slimy avocado. The fruit cup was a tiny cup one might see with ketchup in it, and despite the fact the fruit was diced small, the pineapple was mostly inedible core. The million dollar bacon was burned, and swimming in such a hot sauce I could not eat it. These issues are not new--I've been sending the same or similar complaints for some time. It's hard to find good cooks and I sympathize. However, First Watch is no longer our go to place for breakfast. We are looking for another place and hope that the Hermitage First Watch gets good cooks soon and goes back to the really high quality meals they served a couple of years ago. Typically my husband and I love first watch. However, we placed an Uber eats order. When we were on the way to pick up it said the order was cancelled by the restaurant. So we called to inquire about why it was cancelled and to place the order directly through them then I was hung up on. If they can't handle take out orders it doesn't need to be an option.. I do not recommend using a delivery service or doing a pick up order for this restaurant. Very poor customer service. read more

Highs and lows here. My food was great. Service was pretty sub par. After our drink we were left with our drinks and no straws. He was supposed to come back and never did. He delivered our meal which took about 45 minutes. It was a very long wait for such simple food. In between ordering and food delivery were there wasn't one appearance by our waiter. Upon food delivery one of our meals was incorrect. They made quick work of the correction though when they delivered the corrected meal it was hurriedly thrown together with two missing key ingredients. It took some doing to get our check. I can always count on First Watch. There has never been anything I don't like when we eat here. Their waffle and campo is my favorite and I always get the morning meditation juice. They are a chain, but a solid brunch option. The atmosphere is definitely a vibe. The staff is always helpful and kind. You will wait a while on the weekends to be seated. Great option for a morning with girlfriends and also hardy enough for my husband too. They have great seasonal specials. We do tend to stick to breakfast so I don't have experience with their lunch options. There is a bit or an odor when you first walk in, but I believe it's due to the open kitchen style. Very clean and well maintained restaurant. Breakfast tacos are great! So is hash when they have it and lemon ricotta pancakes are rich enough to share. I ordered Uber Eats today and only got part of my order. when I contacted the store they told me that I could come and pick what was left off up. I've never been blown away by this place. It's a decent breakfast spot given we don't have to many other choices in the area. There is always a long wait even if you get on the list ahead of time. They don't do call ahead, but last time we went you could sign up ahead of time via an app. It's pretty annoying having to download an app for a place you go only a couple times a year. There's also a variance in service. People seated after us would end up getting their food, right after we put our order in. Could have just been the server that day, but we had trouble ordering additional entrees and getting refills on drinks. I've never been blown away by the food. Normally food and service is okay here. Today I came in 20 minutes early to check in for a party of 10 since I knew that would be hard to seat. An hour and a half later, we still didn't have a table despite multiple adjacent tables having come available during that time. When we finally got our table, our food came 30 minutes apart (i.e., most of us and finished eating before the final person got their food; we would have waited so that everyone can eat together but we were hungry and elected to eat as food came out. Nothing came out together.). The coffee had bits of greens in it... Not intentionally. Someone hadn't cleaned the coffee pot or it got food stuck in it in the wash cycle. I don't know the cause, but it was disgusting. I've come fairly regularly with a friend (about once a month). I had thought it would be fun to invite a larger group. We went on a Sunday at 10:30 AM to get brunch and were only given a 15 minute wait, which I'm thankful for. Waiting at the IHOP nearby at the same time would have caused a 30+ minute wait. Our waitress was very VERY sweet and funny. We really liked her. My partner and I both got coffee and they gave us a whole carafe, which I appreciated as a coffee-lover! Now onto the food: I had the lemon ricotta pancakes and turkey sausage. I thought I would be hungrier, just with two pancakes, but the pancakes are actually quite large. I wouldn't order pancakes + something else next time. Both foods were delicious, though! The pancakes were light and sweet, though I missed the flavor of syrup. Definitely get them if you like lemon and strawberry flavor. My partner got the banana granola pancakes, which were also very good! Sweet with a bit of a crunch. Overall, I would definitely go again!
