I had the crepes, which wasn't on the menu, but was on the kids menu. Our server mentioned that they do have crepes in larger portions but wasn't on the menu. I assumed it would have some kind of creamy at jelly like filling but it was only fruit and bananas, so it tasted dry and boring. I had asked our server if it was supposed to come with cream, but she said no and offered to bring out some whip cream. It definitely helped make it taste better. I ordered from their seasonal menu: tumeric lemon aid and shrimp and grits. If you can think of am organic lemon Tang then then you will love this drink. One sip and you can feel the blast of ginger and tumeric. This shrimp and grits entree leaves no regrets, down home southern flavors but light on the fat content. Everyone can get what they want for breakfast at First Watch! I used the app to get in line early so we only had to wait for our table on a Sunday morning for about 5 minutes. Our waitress took our drink order right away. My grandniece ordered waffles with a side of bacon and chocolate milk. I have to say our waitress was very considerate and asked if we wanted to put in her order early with the drink order....she's 4. I had the veggie omelette, my husband had a ham and cheese omelette and my sister in law and niece had the special hash bowl. Everything came out together, hot and delicious!!! Servers are rude. They try to make you hurry with your order and get mad when you want to chose something else AFTER they don't have what you want. First Watch is a great healthy, fresh option if your looking for food. I have yet to be disappointed. My most recent visit I ordered the bacon and avocado omelet with potatoes and an English muffin. This is one of those pleasurable dining experiences in which I wish a full 5 stars could be given, but a couple of missteps I felt a full 5 just wasn't warranted. This is a great place. One of the perks of being an adult is being able to have breakfast for any meal you want; a perk in which i partake frequently. The food is so good here I wish they had dinner hours, or even a one-off open for dinner event now and then to throw me a bone. Everyone of my numerous dining experiences here was for brunch, so I got the rush crowd quite often. Even with a crowd, there is amble parking and the waits are hardly ever excessive. Feeling adventurous? Jump on the communal table. You'll make some new friends and skip a lot of the large family tables wanting to be sat together. The booths are spacious, the tables don't wobble, and the interior is bright and fresh. The food is amazing here. While I wish that they served "hash browns," the other side options try to pick up the slack. My eyes are always bigger than my stomach, so I always order a meal AND a pancake on the side. I then have to take a breather half way through in order to get a second wind and kill it. They have a huge variety of pancakes to pick from, and a supplemental menu describing seasonal or special occasion meals that are currently offered. My coffee drinking friends appreciate the pot being left at the table, and I appreciate that they will leave a carafe of water for you. For the most part, the service is always phenomenal. The servers are cheery, prompt and extremely accommodating. They make you feel welcome and bring everything to the table with a smile. Whether I was starving, hung over, or chatty, my servers have been exceptional. The aforementioned missteps took place on two separate occasion. A close friend drove to my part of town for a very early breakfast due to my raving about First Watch. We were left with a bit of a sour taste in our mouth when we were trying to catch up after a few months of not seeing one another and we were interrupted a few times with a couple of different servers trying to flip the table. It was so early that there wasn't a wait, and I get flipping a table, but I felt we were quick to order and left a generous gratuity, to afford us some chatting over our coffee and water. The other missteps were when paying up front. On one occasion, I asked the young lady at the register if the servers each had a "tip jar," as I could see my table being cleared by someone else. There was no response. When i said, "ma'am...?" i received a snarky response of "I'm counting your change, I can't do that and answer your questions." Whoa, what? Same cashier on a different occasion slid my check over to the side as i was reaching for it so she could take the card from the guest behind me. I love this place. This was not the best First Watch I've been to. The restaurant itself seemed a little dingy/dirty. I ordered an egg white omelet, the vegetables weren't cooked inside and there were all kind of juices dripping, a very wet omelet. The pancake was delicious as usual. While in search for a new go-to breakfast spot I found First Watch. The name I found to be odd for this place. But after looking at the menu online I decided that it definitely was a must try!! The menu IS extensive but not overwhelming. You can pretty much find something for any taste. I chose the AM Superfoods Bowl which is a delicious coconut milk chia seed pudding with fresh fruit and granola and served with multigrain toast with almond butter. It was very filling and could not finish it. My boyfriend got the Market skillet hash. He thought it was very very good and a good portion size. We opted for the coffee and that was not bad. I thought it to be slightly bitter but I loved that they gave you flavored creamers (hazelnut and French vanilla). The prices were good for the portion and quality. The only reason why I took one star away was because the overall service was lacking. We had to ask our server a few times for some water glasses (they bring a milk bottle full of ice cold water to the table) and more creamers. I have been here several times. This is one of my favorite places to eat because it has a causal, friendly atmosphere, it's not far from where I live, the food is consistently delicious and fresh, the prices are very reasonable, and there are plenty of healthy choices on the menu. Think of it as a healthier, less packed Metro Diner. They have specials written daily on the chalkboard, most of which lately have been holiday-inspired... aka pumpkin-something... lol. But that's okay because I love pumpkin-flavored anything. I had breakfast here this morning with my bf and I ordered the Holiday Tri-fecta (I think) which included 2 eggs, an apple chicken sausage link, and 2 pumpkin pancakes for $7.99. Sausage was okay (but I don't really like sausage that much to begin with so I don't even know why I didn't order a different breakfast meat), but the pancakes were moist and yummy. Their coffee is delicious and they leave the pot on the table for you... they also have creamer available in more flavors than plain half-and-half, e.g. French Vanilla and Hazelnut. If you order water to drink and there are 3 or more people at your table, they'll leave the pitcher on the table for you too. Other items I've ordered in the past that were delicious: Bacado, Avocado Bacon and Tomato Hash, Chickichanga, Pecan Dijon salad, Al B. Core Tuna sandwich. My bf LOVES (understatement) the Chicken Palermo sandwich, but I have not personally tried it. Service over the past several times has been mostly consistent/good, but I think there was one or maybe two times where the server had been a little slow or absent minded... but they seemed like there were in training. They have many healthier options as well. We have always had good service and the food comes out fast. My only complaint would be the wait time, but hey it's worth it. This is an excellent breakfast stop featuring a unique and varied menu. I don't like eggs so usually breakfast is a pain but First Watch left me with a variety of menu options. I ordered the cranberry/pecan pancakes (they let you order more than one type of pancake if you order more than one). I had their homemade turkey sausage patty which wasn't greasy and was well spiced. I finished the meal off with some real (non-instant) grits and excellent coffee from the pot they place on every coffee ordering table. No sighing and waiting for a refill here. This was actually my second visit to First Watch. I had little time to come up with a place where my Mom would eat the food. She's very particular about food whereas me not so much. So for our once-in-a-while Mother/Daughter Sunday brunch we came here. I got there about 11:30 and the place was hopping. We were gonna wait for a table and the wait was about 30 minutes but there was two seats across from each other at the high top table with no wait so we opted for that instead. The server waiting on the entire table was very attentive and the food came out in a timely manner. We ordered a cranberry juice and a orange juice to start our brunch, not big to-do. As we looked over the menu, I decided on the Greek Fetish Omelette. Fetish? Really? I thought it was a typo but when I asked about it our server said it is "Fetish": Roasted red peppers, spinach and onions with feta and black olives. Greek Omelettes have always been a favorite of mine so I got it with a side of greens aka spring mix. My mother got her favorite, the Traditional Breakfast with two eggs any style, potatoes, turkey sausage, and wheat toast. Like I said, she's particular. The food came out in about 10-15 mins. Nothing really exciting about the omelette or the greens, just plain good eatin', Mom enjoyed hers as well. I kept looking at the signs in the windows advertising their new drinks: Kale Tonic and Day Glow. Day Glow is a blend of carrots, ginger, lemon, and oranges and the Kale Tonic has kale, cucumber, lemon, and fuji apples. Our server said that he loved the kale tonic better because of it's earthy flavor. I'm up for the challenge so I ordered one. OMG I loved it. This was a horrible experience at a horribly managed restaurant. My wife and I placed an online order which upon arrival we found out that someone stole our order. The manager comes to speak to us once we find this out and doesn't help much other than offering to remake the food. When my wife spoke to them about the issue the manager immediately gets rude and very aggressive not letting my wife even get a word in. Her tone shifted once my wife a black woman started speaking to her, saying my wife was yelling when she was speaking normally and labeling her as aggressive to add racism on top of her already rude behavior. When we explain this to the general manager all he does is say the racism was all in her head and invalidating what we both saw with our own eyes. Absolutely disgusting read more

But when my BF & I walked in... this is what happened: 1. no one greeted us even though we made eye-contact with SEVERAL waiters/waitresses/servers/etc. 2. even after I grabbed a menu to pick out what I wanted (incase I didn't want a bacon & cheese pancake) we still garnered NO attention. 3. we stood in the entry way waiting to be acknowledged (anything really) for 10 minutes. TEN MINUTES. ^ Now, I understand there may have been some confusion when we arrived. There was a waitress using the register with a two ladies that were paying their bill. The problem: THEY WERE HAVING A FULL ON CONVERSATION. They weren't talking about the food or the service. They were talking CASUALLY. As someone who worked in retail where customer service is key... This is my third visit to Third Watch, but first time at this location. Decided to forgo my usual favorite of avocado toast, and delve into the Lemon Ricotta pancakes. And what an amazing decision this was! The pancakes were fluffy, and the lemon curd was melt in your mouth good, and the strawberries on top were fresh. I was so full I had to box them up to take home for lunch. My husband had the Quinoa Power bowl, and he said it was very filling and tasty. My sons opted for chocolate chip pancakes and sausage, which they quickly gobbled up. Service was a little on the slow side, but honestly it was starting to get busy around the time we arrived. First of all, my husband had to talk me in to coming here, because I'd never had a good service experience at the First Watch in Marsh Landing. -- and I tried four or five times, just because the food is pretty good, and I like all their avocado dishes. He told me this one on Beach Blvd would probably be better. So we stopped in with the intention of not waiting if it was going to take more than 15 minutes. He checked in at 11:45 and was told that it would be a 15 minute wait. Well, after two parties who came into the restaurant after us were seated before us, I went up to the hostess, and was informed that they had signed in onto their app, so that they didn't have to wait. What? No one told us that when we checked in! We should have been informed that there was a "no wait list," and that we might have to wait longer than the usual 15 minutes. Had we known, we might have downloaded the app and gotten on the list ourselves! Or we might have decided to wait it out anyway. But by the time we found out (I went up to the hostess after I saw the second party of later arrivers being seated), we'd already waited close to 30 minutes. We walked out. When we were contacted about a table being available (we were driving away by this time), we texted them that we were done. Part of good service is communication, and now, this First Watch has continued the pattern of poor service I've come to associate with this restaurant. There are plenty of other, tasty breakfast places in Jacksonville to expose myself to the aggravation I experienced here -- this visit to First Watch was my Last Stop! read more

I've been a long-time First Watch fan and typically know what to expect even if I've never been to a specific location before (such as this one). I knew, it being Sunday, that I needed to use their app to virtually "get in line" before even heading to the restaurant and to anticipate a wait. I knew I'd be able to enjoy free coffee and water while I ate. I knew there would be seasonal menus in addition to their classic staples when we were seated. Once it was our turn, we were promptly seated with menus and greeted by someone taking our beverage order while our full server was finishing up with a couple other tables. She set us up with a pitcher of coffee and a water carafe while we browsed the menu. I knew what I wanted (Farmhouse hash, poached eggs, no cheese) before even arriving, but my table mates were a little more adventurous and a couple ordered off the seasonal menu. The waiter took our order and repeated it back to make sure all the modifications and additions were correct and then let us know up front food was taking about 30 minutes to come out due to the heavy Sunday brunch traffic, which I appreciated. My food, a tried and true favorite of mine, was so good that I didn't even get a photo before it disappeared, and I had about three mugs of coffee because it's my favorite chain restaurant coffee to ever exist. Jitters be damned. Only two hiccups, which I didn't think were enough to demote a star: 1) My friend's chicken breakfast burrito didn't actually come with chicken. He didn't want to be difficult during their rush and have to wait 30 more minutes for it to arrive, so he didn't say anything, but he was disappointed. 2) Our checks were not split correctly but they were able to fairly closely fix it when we paid at the register. All in all, I'd come back, but would probably avoid the 10-12 Sunday morning prime time window for faster service. read more

Been a regular customer of First Watch. They have great food and healthy options. Depending on the day and time, wait times will vary from none to 45 mins (busiest during weekends). They have an alert system via phone which is very convenient if you are willing to wait. Limited seating inside but of course you can wait outdoors. They have waiter and coffee available for waiting customers. Most staff are very attentive, friendly and courteous. They maintain cleanliness of the place including the restrooms. They have seasonal menus and the regular menus. It seems like you can't go wrong with any food since most are really healthy if you are the type that watches calorie intake with detailed ingredients for every entry in the menu. You can tell the freshness of food when it is served. Servers will check on you often including refills of drinks. This place is worth to go back to regularly if not every week. read more

I normally don't write reviews or complain, but it took an hour and a half to get two pancakes and drinks... the potatoes were severely undercooked, it took 30 minutes to be acknowledged AND get water, and the bacon tasted like rubber.. not just to me, but also my partner. We thought that it would be wonderful like the First Watch location, our first experience at a First Watch location, that we enjoyed so much in Franklin, TN. Sadly this was not the case. The first indication that something was awry was when I tried to wash my hands before breakfast and let the water run to get hot. It never did. We went to a pretty awesome Elite event at First Watch a couple of weeks ago and couldn't wait to come back to get me some of that bacon and grits again. It's just as good as I remembered it. The place looked clean and have a bit of a diner feel. The service was pretty good too and the food tasted fresh. I'll definitely come back and try the other things on their menu.
