This location is Amazing !!! Me and my wife go here every Sunday morning's for Breakfast. They have so many vegetarian options as well and the staff is very very nice and welcoming and the Ambiance is always great. My wife had French toast and it was perfectly done and I had their Avocado toast with cheese and top which was well done. From the moment you walk in the door, their staff is extremely friendly. Their General Manager Loren is always out checking on the customers, making sure we are comfortable, and everything comes out perfect! They have great customer service! Makes you feel like family. Each month they have new items on the menu that seasonal. We had the Double Bacon Parmesan Hash and the Pesto Quinoa Power bowl. They were delicious, fresh, hot and great presentation. When you walk in, there's beautiful artwork on the walls by the register, they have a huge board where their seasonal items are posted. I love First Watch. Upon entering this fine establishment once again I immediately knew I was going to have another great experience. The service and staff was all very nice and one of the waiters even recognized my mother because of how much we come here. The food was great. It is a very consistent restaurant so unlike some local places you always know what to expect when you come here. The ambiance is great and the new barn aesthetic enhances the experience. This was our first time at this delightful restaurant. Our server Conner was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu when we asked questions. We shared a roast beef and provolone sandwich. It was cooked to perfection. Lean with no fat and temperature was cooked on point, keeping the meat tender and the bread crisp. Everything was so good that we ordered a shrimp & grits to-go. They are going to be serving our dinner tonight as well. The thing that really blew me away was the manager, Loren, doing table checks!!! I started off on the wrong foot when the host sat us at a dirty table. It was cleared but not washed and while I don't come off as a germ-a-phob, I am. John had the look, like oh no- she's unhappy. I got up to look for a clean table (many tables still hadn't been cleared) and saw the booth right next to us had a wash rag left on the table. I snagged it, wiped down our table and went to the restroom to wash my hands and sat down a little more comfortably. The food is where it's at- I love there wild blueberry pancakes- LOVE and John loves their million dollar bacon. And he had an order of french toast too. We had the perfect amount of food and it was delicious. Tip for management and/or staff- keep up on bussing tables and make sure staff aren't leaving half cleaned tables. OR make sure staff cleaning tables tell the host/hostess what tables are ready to turn over. We were there on a Monday in early afternoon and it was not busy at all. But there were tons of dirty tables throughout the dining room. This was a 3.5 star visit, but I rounded up for the food quality and taste. read more

I had to try the Watermelon Wake Up and it was EXCEPTIONAL. Watermelon, pineapple, lime and mint made the most refreshing drink. I then had the traditional breakfast with bacon. Service was attentive and our server was pretty awesome. She was quick to take care of our needs, as well as the surrounding tables. i looove that they position coffee cups on the table and walk up with a hot pot of coffee when they greet you. Food was good. Loads of healthy options. Their multigrain toast is on a whole nutha level -- it's thicc, crunchy and pillowy. I'd really love to buy a loaf. Lilly was our waitress, super nice and helpful! When she was getting our drink orders, someone said (jokingly), "Got some tequila?" And she was like, "Pomegranate Sunrise!" I was a little late, because I had to get ready for work before heading out to meet them. And, since it's still Lent, I fast from meat on Fridays. I was still looking over the menu, but everyone was already ready and started ordering. I heard one of them say Shrimp and Grits. And I was like oOOoooo yessss, that one! Oh my yummm! In town for a medical appointment. There are a ton of breakfast options available and I looked at several. First Watch IS a chain but I know I like their food. Ultimately I went for the sure thing. Tri-Athlete (egg white omelet with fruit and multigrain toast) never fails. Yummy. Omelet was hot, fruit was chilled. Jonah was awesome. He made suggestions and ensured I had everything I needed. Racist employee Cathrin and racist apologist manager Samuel. We ordered online through the first watch website and came to pick up our order at 12:29 when it was supposed to be ready. When we came in we were informed that our order had been "stollen". They said they would remake it. Over 30 minutes passed and our order still wasn't remade. No biggie. However, as someone who has worked in restaurants their whole life, when a customer is greatly inconvenienced it's only right to offer something for compensation. My husband (a white man) was speaking the to the manager and she gave us a coupon for our next return. My husband then left to move the car (we had our hazards on parked outside since this was supposed to be an in and out thing). I then was speaking to the manager and asked if we could have something else other than a coupon as we live out of town and don't have a first watch near us. Her tone speaking to me (a Black woman) compared to her tone and mannerisms speaking to my husband were night and day. She had this extremely condescending fake smile while holding her hands and nodding her head back and forth in an extremely mocking manner. We've all experienced someone speaking like this to us and this was it on 10. I couldn't believe the way that she speaking to me. She consistently was interrupting me and making assumptions that I was not stating. She said, "it's not our fault that your food was stolen." I never said it was their fault. They can't control that. "Well you came to us on our busiest day so you're going to have a long wait for the remake of your food." I never once mentioned being upset at the long wait, only that with all of these inconveniences maybe a discounted item off of our order or something added to it would be fine. "We're not going to give you your whole meal for free." I never once asked for our ENTIRE meal to be comped. She then says at least 10x in a row "what do you want? What do you want? What do you want?" Again being very taken aback at how I was being spoken to, I said "what I would like is for you to stop speaking so condescending towards me." She then says "I'm going to need you to stop yelling at me." As a Black women when ppl are being aggressive towards us they constantly play the victim and say that we're the ones being aggressive. My tone did not raise once in this conversation. There were employees and guest all around us while we were talking. If I was "yelling" it very easily would've been a scene. But it wasn't because I was speaking to her VERY calmly because I wasn't even upset until she made the yelling remark. If I was white she would never have said that I was "yelling" and I said that. Black employees heard me talking to her and completely understood where I was coming from. They said we can see how you're talking and you're very clearly not yelling. Again, the manner that she was speaking to my husband was completely different than from how she was speaking to me. She never would've perceived him as "yelling" The worst part of all of this was when I was speaking to the general manager Samuel Herrera, I explained the situation and he said "well she wasn't being racist because she didn't mention race". That was an extremely ignorant remark to make. Someone doesn't need to mention race in order to have done a racist act. He then disregarded everything I said and just said she's not like that. Ppl need to realize that just because you're not calling someone a slur, doesn't mean that what you said or did was not racist. When a Black women is simply talking to you and you immediately perceive what she's saying as being aggressive or "yelling" is wrong especially when you were just speaking to a white person and didn't perceive anything wrong with them. It's the reason why so many companies have had to have special training so that they don't simply perceive Black peoples existence as a threat. Will be sure to speak to corporate because this is unacceptable behavior in any establishment. Shame on Cathrine and shame on Samuel. read more

Very disappointed. First, I ordered an iced tea, it was very cloudy. When I mentioned it to the server she said, "Does it taste funny?" Seriously? You want me to taste something that I said didn't look right? Odd response. Then, my husband ordered 2 eggs over easy, with turkey sausage. The eggs were way overcooked, and the turkey sausage looked raw. When pointing it out to the server, she said, "That's how our sausage looks." My husband requested his eggs be redone, and ordered pork sausage instead. The manager brought them out, apologized that it wasn't cooked right, and gave us a $5.00 off coupon to use...My husband requested another slice of toast, as he ate what was initially brought while we waited for his meal to be redone....and we did get charged for an extra slice of toast. Other things to note; the table was not wiped clean, nor were the chairs. There wasn't any plain cream on the table. And, the music was too loud. Our server was very nice, and tried to accommodate us. I just think some additional training is needed when responding to customer complaints. We will not be going back. read more

This is the best foos I've ever had! I don't say that lightly. From someone who's eaten in multiple other countries, this places food blows them all out of the water. Please try this place they have so many amazing foods, on their menu the smoked salmon eggs Benedict is astonishing good the hollindaise sauce is worth its weight in gold. Couple the quality of food with the friendly high quality service, and you have a real winner I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and have taken many people here. It is my favorite place to go in Jacksomville. The restaurant is clean and well set up there is plenty of room to move around while still feeling cozy it has a very nice ambiance and while continue to diner here for years to come. read more

My wife and like to get the same things on the menu but when we try new things on the menu at this location, we are never disappointed. It's always fresh and everybody is so welcoming!
