Not sure what their critique for personnel, but the 3 locations I have been to it seems the female servers all have shaved heads and piercings which is fine for them but as a customer, not so fine with me. I came here this past Saturday morning for breakfast with my friends while visiting in Jacksonville. We checked in online ahead of arriving, and were seated right when we walked in! If we needed to wait, I would have enjoyed the coffee and water station that is available for guests that have a wait for their tables. I would definitely take advantage of this option in the future, why not spend your "wait" time driving to the actual location?! I love the atmosphere in this restaurant. It is very open, and has a farmhouse feel to it for sure. (There is also a first come, first served community table - what a fantastic idea!) I was pleasantly surprised to see coffee-mate individual creamers on the table, and was quite happy to be able to have my hazelnut flavored coffee at breakfast. I ordered the traditional breakfast, and was extremely pleased. I did substitute the potatoes out to be able to have grits, and our waitress was quite accommodating. While I liked the grits, I did think they were not very fluffy, but that wouldn't stop me from getting them again. The eggs and bacon were perfectly made, and I wish I could buy the multi-grain bread for the toast separately! Paying your tab is easy, as you bring it right to the counter, and definitely ask to take a coffee to go! My girlfriend & I decided to get brunch on a Sunday. We started with a simple glass of water with lemon & my girlfriend's glass had some black flanks swimming at the bottom of her glass while my water had God knows what floating around in it & a lovely 2 inch long black HAIR sitting at the bottom. Next we got out food. My plate came with a random piece of uncooked bacon that definitely wasn't supposed to come with the meal & for whatever reason they gave my girlfriend a steak knife to eat avocado toast & sunny side up eggs. Not to mention there was no condemns or silverware on the table so we had to flag the waitress down just to get utensils. My finally issue was the appearance of the staff. Why are staff members walking around bussing tables with their pants sagging. DISGUSTING! We love the first watch at the beach. We probably go once a week or every other week at the most. We found ourself across the ditch while shopping and figured we would try another location. This first watch looks great inside and in some ways the flow seems better than the one at the beach. Food also is similar and while not cheap iconsistently good. I tried the new special which was the Cornbread Carnitas Bowl. The cornbread was sweet and delicious and overall the taste was very good. The food took a while to come out though and was lukewarm in temperature. Our waitress seemed to be flustered and slightly agitated. It looked like she was training a new waitress and that maybe they were understaffed because of this. Service did seem an issue though as a few other tables commented on it and were debating leaving. Overall same great food that you get at any First Watch but they might need to hire new people so the waitstaff isn't overwhelmed. read more

I had high hopes for this place because it was my first impression ever coming here. I was expecting good food and great customer service but was greatly disappointed. I had called beforehand for a party of 3 and they told us to reserve through their website, which we did. Once we got there we were instantly greeted with a negative energy from the front hostess. She didn't want to pull up our reservation, tried to make us wait an additional hour and had a nasty attitude while we were trying to explain that we had a confirmation text. The wait was perfect... none at 9 am on a Sunday. The food was great, perfectly per portioned. The drinks were lacking. Don't offer Bloody Marys if you're not going to do them right. Nothing special but tomato juice with vodka and a bacon in a wine glass is not acceptable. Try again and make it pretty. read more

Yesterday, we went for lunch and arrived and was seated at 12:24. I ordered the traditional breakfast and my wife ordered the half sandwich and half salad. Thirty minutes later I called over the server and asked what the problem was. I noticed the tables that came in around the same time also had no food. She said she would check. A few minutes later she came back and said she checked and our food should be out shortly. Finally at 1:10 our food was delivered. My eggs we lukewarm, but Im not going to wait any longer. The bacon was perfect as was the toast. I had fruit instead of the potatoes. My wife's sandwich was fine. I asked for the check at that time and we wolfed down our food. We headed to First Watch for brunch. The location is bright and colorful with lots of rustic charm. I was immediately excited to have a cup of coffee seeing as they sell their own coffee grounds. I ordered a traditional Italian omelet and my husband got the biscuit and turkey gravy. Our meals both came out quickly and pipping hot! I was impressed with the freshness in my omelet which comes served with spring mix lettuce and two slices of toast. The multigrain toast is so delicious and flavorful I was tempted to ask the waitress where I can buy a loaf. My husbands meal left a little to be desired. The biscuit was fluffy and large but the gravy was missing flavor. Aside from the creamy peppery taste the gravy was bland and needed a little heat. While we did the try any of the in season meals, we would definitely return for the fresh ingredients and local produce used in the cooking. Plus they serve coffee by the pot and that makes the place great in my book!! read more

So I love this place! Location is great, parking is decent, food is always on point! First couple of times the whole experience was perfect. Arrival, sat us quickly and service was attentive and efficient. Then the last couple of times it was busy so a wait was expected....USE YOUR YELP WAITLIST OPTION! This is a great breakfast spot for two reasons: 1) Breakfast goes beyond the normal cut off times for most other restaurants and 2) they do a good job with everything on their menu. There are also delicious lunch options. My only complaint is that the coffee is horrible - kind of like the stuff you find in an office setting AND on top of that, it is usually lukewarm. Oh and it is served in one of those pour-it-yourself pitchers that never seems to flow right. First Watch could use an espresso machine or at least some good beans and a few lessons on brewing good coffee. That said, everything else is excellent including the service. read more

The potatoes were good with the meal I would of liked a little longer cook on my potatoes next time I'll ask for that. The sauce on the chickichanga was flavorful I also asked for some salsa. First Watch has become my families go to Sunday breakfast spot. We used to frequent a few other places around town but now that we found our favorite it will be hard to tear us away. First., the food is fresh and you can tell. It's not super greasy and you can tell the quality right away. Second, we go as a family which means we take 3 kids ages 1, 4 & 9. The muffins there are HUGE and they will bring your order out right away if you ask so between the crayons, juice and giant muffins to split it keeps it very peaceful at the table. Last, their menu is very different. You can't go wrong with any of the skillet has options and my wife loves the whole grain pancakes. This was a nice change of pace. I am not a breakfast person so any establishment that will let me eat lunch at breakfast time gets my vote. I met up with my partner in crime and her mom for brunch. Clean bright interior colorful art work on the walls, high top as well as regular tables. They also have community tables if you are adventuresome and not cranky you can eat with strangers. I love this concept, and have met some fun strange souls. The actual menu is much better than the on line version so save your time there. My friend ordered the Key West Crepe Egg. Paper thin creeps layered with eggs, Turkey bacon, avocado and tomato. Served with English Muffin and seasoned potatoes. Mom had the biggest single pancake I have ever seen. With a side of Turkey Sausage. Nice touch, your very own bottle of warm syrup not those hateful little packets many establishments use. This was so appealing to me I am going to make a trip back just to try it myself. Breakfast for me, since Lox and bagels were not an option I picked the next best option, a Ruben actually grilled. This was one of the better Rubens I have sampled here. I chose the mixed greens as my side that was the only mistake of the meal. Wilted looking like an afterthought, it was not appealing. If your a fan of breakfast and chain restaurants this spot may be one of the best options around. If you go on the week end be prepared for a possible short wait and almost guaranteed screaming child somewhere in the mix. read more

My first impression of First Watch was a very good one. The breakfast choices look amazing, but we went for lunch so I tried the 2 for you option to sample a few items. The Rueben sandwich was delicious and I would definitely order it again. The pecan chicken salad was probably the best salad I have had in a very long time, perhaps ever. Loaded with bacon, pecans, perfectly cooked chicken breast strips, on a bed of mixed greens, and a spicy Dijon dressing. Priced very reasonably with a delicious brewed sweet tea, this was a perfect lunch. The only thing that would have improved the experience was a little faster service since we were on our lunch hour. I cannot wait to try the breakfast and brunch options, so I will definitely be back and see if I can get a 5-star experience next time. read more

Our server was attentive and knew everything on the menu very well so she could recommend things very easily. I got the lemon ricotta pancakes. The lemon curd on top was light fresh and didn't over power the rest of the pancake they were amazing! My mom got the power bowl with quinoa,eggs, sausage and mushrooms. This location this experience was way better than the San jose location. My waitress was so nice and always checking in on us. I didnt even care to use a coupon!. Im addicted tot he Banana Brulee Waffles, they are so good it should be illegal. I ordered that with Eggs well done with cheese. (cause I hate wet ewwwy eggs) They mad it perfect!! My boyfriend and I had the absolute best experience at this restaurant. We have been to a couple first watches before and nothing compared to this location. The food was absolutely phenomenal and the waitress Halley was amazing. My boyfriend ordered breakfast tacos and every modification he asked for was done perfectly and my French toast was delicious.
